Brooke: You were awfully quiet on the ride home. That kiss that I had with Ridge is going to be splashed all over the fashion trades. How are you going to handle it? How are we going to handle it?

Felicia: So, when mommy walks down that runway tomorrow, daddy's going to be there waiting for me. With those big dimples. And the minister's going to say a bunch of words, and there'll be rings and a kiss.

Stephanie: And lots of happy tears for the bride and groom?

Felicia: I was just telling my little snugglebuns about the wedding. It seems to be a very good bedtime story. So, are you just now getting back from Forrester?

Stephanie: Yeah.

Felicia: Quite a show, in more ways than one.

Stephanie: Well, that's not why I stopped by.

Felicia: Mom, if you're worried about the wedding preparations, don't be.

Stephanie: I am. I'm worried about the maid of honor.

Felicia: Why? Bridget's dress is ready and waiting for her at Forrester --

Stephanie: Honey, this isn't about the dress. This is about Bridget and Dante. I think they have feelings for one another.

Bridget: What in god's name did you think you were doing? That kiss on the runway, Ridge? You know better than to think you can do that to someone's fiancée. Whether you like it or not, mom and Nick are trying to have a relationship.

Ridge: It kind of speaks volumes, though. Two people supposedly in love who can't seem to --

Bridget: Oh, just stop it! You are so transparent! You put mom in a position where she had to give in to you, so she did. You put on the show, and it wasn't for the buyers or the press. It was for one person -- Nick.

Ridge: Worked rather well, didn't it?

Nick: Does that answer your question?

Brooke: I just need to know we're okay.

Nick: I'll bet Forrester's wondering the same thing.

Brooke: I had no idea what Ridge was up to.

Nick: That's because you don't think like a Forrester. You're good, decent and honest. That family's like the Bermuda triangle for you. The only way to keep from getting sucked down is to stay as far away from them as possible.

Brooke: Well, ridge is R.J.'s father. He's going to be in his son's life.

Nick: But he doesn't have to be in our life. Especially when it's our life he's trying to destroy.

Brooke: He can't do that. You know that, don't you? You do know that? Come on, let's go upstairs.

Nick: I've got a better idea. Why don't I fire my plane up, and let's just get the hell out of here.

Brooke: Oh, I can't. It's going to be so crazy at work tomorrow. All those orders to fill and everything.

Nick: What? Orders? I thought we had an understanding that you weren't going back to that place. Brooke, how can you even consider that after what happened today? I mean it. No more Forrester Creations!

Stephanie: Dante bought your engagement ring for Bridget.

Felicia: And she turned him down, just like she's been doing as long as Dante's been in town.

Stephanie: When his family was here at the house the other day, the two of them disappeared. Where did they go? Why did they go? What's going on?

Felicia: Damn it, mother, this is not what I need on the eve of my wedding -- you filling my head with doubts.

Stephanie: I don't think I'm filling your head with doubts. I think they're already there.

Bridget: Look, Ridge. Mom might be back at Forrester Creations now --

Ridge: Where she belongs.

Bridget: Well, she's not going to be here long, if you keep playing games like this. Do you think nick is going to allow this?

Ridge: Bridget, I'm fighting for the woman I love. For the woman I know in my soul I was meant to spend the rest of my days with.

Bridget: That's fine, but mom is engaged, Ridge! And she loves Nick.

Ridge: Not the way she loves me.

Bridget: I sat next to Nick when you kissed mom on the runway. I saw the look on his face. In front of practically the whole world, you humiliated him.

Ridge: Your mother and I are going to be together. And we're going to run this company together.

Bridget: And where does that leave Nick?

Ridge: Nick is not my concern. Is he yours? Listen, very soon now, Popeye's gonna realize that your mother is like a beautiful, wild mare who can't be contained. She's passionate, unpredictable, and she doesn't live by other people's rules. Either you love her for who she is, or you lose her.

[Cell phone ringing]

Bridget: I have to go.

Ridge: I have loved your mother for who she is. And I always will.

Brooke: I never said I was going to leave Forrester Creations. I thought we agreed that I was going to work out of Marone?

Nick: Well, the dressmaker proved that's not going to work when he showed up at the office with panties for you to try on. For god's sake, Brooke! We'll sell the stock back to them -- we'll give it back to them! Anything to get them out of our lives.

Brooke: Nick, that stock is my children's legacy. Just like Brooke's bedroom is mine. I founded that line. That company is a part of who I am. And everybody's really excited about the line. I mean, they think we're on the brink of something huge. I just want to show them what I can do.

Nick: Who? Who do you want to show? The public? Me? I believe in you. Why don't you be honest here? Be honest with yourself. You want to prove to this family that you are worthy of them. And it's got to stop. Brooke, you can't allow them to be this instrumental in your life, and that's going to happen as long as you're tied to this company. That's what Forrester and his mother are counting on.

Brooke: I'm going to be really vigilant. I'm going to set Ridge straight, okay? And if anything happens like what happened tonight with him, he's going to be out of that door so fast --

Nick: Oh, come on, it's not going to work. The guy's not going to listen to you. Don't you see that? Nothing! He's not backing off. When are you going to see that?

Brooke: I can handle Ridge.

Nick: You wouldn't have to if you weren't tied to this company.

Brooke: I tried to explain to you how important this company is to me.

Nick: And I tried to explain to you why it shouldn't be. I don't want to keep having the same argument. I'm gonna go.

Brooke: No. No, don't go. Not like this.

Nick: Brooke -- Brooke, I'm not mad. Really. I just don't get how a woman that's so strong and talented could allow a family like that to control her life. I don't get it. I don't think I ever will.

Felicia: If Bridget wanted to be with Dante, she could have been with him. He proposed to her.

Stephanie: But she didn't accept. Why? Is she still holding out hope for nick? I mean, is she in love with Dante? I think we're dealing with a very confused young woman here. But then, she is her mother's daughter, isn't she? And who sends mixed messages to men better than her mother?

Felicia: Which is what you think might be happening?

Stephanie: Honey, I think Dante's a good man. I think he loves you. I think he loves the baby. If it's Bridget that's having second thoughts, then she should keep those to herself. I want you to be happy, honey, and I don't want her interfering with that happiness. I want that little baby in there to wake up tomorrow morning and spend the whole day at his parents' wedding, while they're happy and they're committed to one another. I think you need to go and talk to Bridget and get this all straightened out. Make sure she understands all this.

Nick: How did you get in here?

[Massimo laughs]

Massimo: You underestimate me, my boy. But that's beside the point right now. I know what happened at the fashion show today. Let it go, Dominick. Hmm? Before it gets even worse for you.

Nick: You're not welcome here.

Massimo: Let me tell you something. What Brooke and Ridge have together -- despite all the ups and downs that they've had -- is very real. And it would behoove you to step back from that, accept it and step back. This way, maybe you have a chance to salvage something with Bridget before your divorce becomes final.

Nick: I don't need this. Especially from you.

Massimo: Well, who better? I'm your father.

Nick: And the dressmaker's greatest supporter! You know, one thing I've learned -- it's not the strongest or the smartest that survives, but the one that can best adapt to change. And there will be some changes around here, involving everybody. And we will see who's standing in the end.

Brooke: Ridge? This isn't your house. You can't just breeze in here any time you'd like! What if Nick were here?

Ridge: But he's not, is he? You two had an argument, and he stormed out of here?

Brooke: No, no, that's not what happened. What do you want? No, forget I even asked that. I just want you to go.

Ridge: I would've thought you'd be all pumped up from our success today. Don't you want to celebrate?

Brooke: I just want to go to bed.

Ridge: Great. Excellent idea.

Brooke: I can't do that 'til you go.

Ridge: Or I could take you upstairs, tuck you in, tell you a naughty bedtime story.

Brooke: Ridge!

Ridge: Scandalous, I'm sure. But then, a little scandal's all right, right? Remember the "scandal" campaign you came up with? That was just sheer brilliance. Unfortunately, a lot of people didn't like us falling out of elevators half-naked, but, you know. I think we should retool the scandal line. We're having so much success with all this stuff --

Brooke: Look, can we just talk about this tomorrow?

Ridge: Absolutely. 9:00, your office, Forrester.

Brooke: No, my office is at Marone. So we'll teleconference.

Ridge: And where's your heart? I know where it should be. It should be right next to mine.

Bridget: Penny for your thoughts.

Nick: Bridget? What're you doin' here?

Bridget: Well, I got your text message.

Nick: I didn't text you.

Bridget: Really? I just assumed -- you would have wanted me-- well, all right, I'm sure you want to be alone.

Nick: Where's your penny?

Bridget: I don't need one. I know you well enough to know what you're thinking. How did you leave things with my mom?

Nick: I'm not going to give up on her. I just need to find some way to get through to her and I will. I love your mother. And I support her. I just need to make sure she knows that.

Brooke: You can't keep doing this, Ridge.

Ridge: I just asked a simple question.

Brooke: No, I mean it. It has to stop.

Ridge: Because your fiancé says so?

Brooke: No, it's not because of that.

Ridge: That is what happened. Nick dragged you out of there, isn't it? Started laying down a bunch of ground rules, like, didn't want you around the fashion industry anymore, didn't want you working at the company that you love, or associating with any of the Forresters anymore. He's trying to control you, Brooke. He's trying to tell you where you can work, who is going to be in your life, his way or no way, right? Please tell me that you realize this. You see, this is what is actually going on now, especially after today. I made the biggest mistake of my life when I walked out on you. And now to compound it by having to stand by and watch you commit yourself to this control freak. To stand by without saying anything, when I love you more than I ever have. That heart attack recently made me realize that, a day apart from you is a day wasted. Well, I don't want to waste another day. Another hour, another minute, apart from you.

[Cell phone rings]

Brooke: Hello?

Nick: I'm looking at a picture of you.

Brooke: You are?

Nick: You look beautiful and happy. Let's keep it that way.

Brooke: Yeah.

Nick: I'll see you tomorrow.

Brooke: Okay. Bye.

Ridge: Fair guess tells me that was Nick.

Brooke: You really have to leave, Ridge.

Ridge: Then I will see you bright and early in the morning. We have a lot of work to do. The orders are pouring in. And we need to get crackin' on the new hot designs for the bedroom line. But I'm feeling very inspired. I mean, with a figure like this in front of me, how can I not be inspired?

Brooke: Okay, wait, wait, stop. This is what I mean. This is the problem. You keep pushing the limit and you are getting away with it. I'm warning you. If you try to take advantage of us working together again, that's it.

Ridge: You and I are never going to be over, Brooke. And the sooner that you realize that, the better off it's going to be for all of us. It's gonna happen. You and I both know it will happen.
