Nick: Hi.

Brooke: Hi.

Nick: Hi.

Brooke: Thanks for coming over.

Nick: Always a pleasure to see this part of the family.

Brooke: Actually, you just missed Ridge. He went to pick up some Sushi for us.

Nick: Oh. I hope you're not expecting me to stay for dinner.

Brooke: Oh, no. No, I know your stance on raw fish.

Nick: Then why did you ask me over? Everything okay?

Brooke: Well, it is now.

Nick: What do you mean?

Brooke: I just went through something with Ridge and Bridget. You can wipe that grimace off your face. It turned out to be a really good thing.

Nick: Okay.

Brooke: I know Bridget's been confiding in you. And in Ridge. And I only wish that she had been able to confide in me. But tonight we had what you would call a "breakthrough." In fact, my family and my marriage emerged stronger than ever. That's why I wanted you to come over.

Nick: You felt the need to tell me this personally?

Brooke: No. I want to thank you. For helping Bridget.

*************************************************************

Stephanie: Bridget, I want to believe that what transpired between you and Ridge is over.

Bridget: Well, it is!

Stephanie: You may have convinced yourself of that.

Bridget: Look, Stephanie, I know what I'm feeling -- or what I'm not feeling.

Stephanie: Well, you've repressed your feelings for him once before. And if you continue to be in a state of denial, it's not going to allow you to move on.

Bridget: Look, I came home so that I could confront these feelings, and to deal with them, which I know that I've done.

Stephanie: All right. I'll say no more.

Bridget: Even to my mom? I know you got her all riled up about me and Ridge. You know how to push those buttons.

Stephanie: That's not how it was.

Bridget: Really? 'Cause I think it was. I think you really wanted this to come between her and Ridge. My god, Stephanie -- why can't you just leave my mom alone?

*************************************************************************

Thorne: To become your partner, I need to invest $50 million?

Sally: Well, you got that right, Thorne. You say you want a piece of Spectra's action, and I'm prepared to give it to you. Along with all the years of my life that I've got wrapped up in this place.

Darla: For fifty million dollars?

Sally: That is a drop in the bucket when you consider what this company means to me.

Clarke: That's true.

Sally: But I respect you and what you've done for my company. And more than that, I think of you as family.

Darla: Of course, so do we.

Sally: Well, that's why I'm offering you a stake in spectra fashions. In my very own blood, sweat and tears. But see, I can't afford to hand out any freebies here. I've got a growing company here. I've got employees to pay. So, if we're going to be 50-50 partners, then we both have to invest 50-50 as well.

Clarke: Sounds like a fair deal to me.

Thorne: Sure it does, Clarke. You're not the one dishing out fifty big ones.

Sally: It is a good offer.

Thorne: Your best offer?

Sally: Well, I mean, you can crunch the numbers any way you want to -- up and down and sideways --but the offer is going to remain the same. So -- what do you say, Thorne? Do I have myself a partner?

Thorne: I need to speak with my financial advisors, run some numbers.

Sally: Fine. Fine. But why don't we save time and allow me to give you the 411 info first, hmm?

Thorne: All right.

Sally: An investment banker checked out our performance statements.

Thorne: And, I assume, your holdings, property and equipment.

Clarke: Uh-huh. They're quite valuable. And, it goes without saying that the design team is priceless.

Sally: Yeah, yeah, yeah. But what's even more important is our growth rate. You've seen the sales reports yourself. We're hot. And we're growing. Fast. This was definitely the right time to get in, baby.

Thorne: Thanks to my contribution.

Sally: That's true. You have worked hard. And you lent us your name. And the platform to prove yourself. Now it is time for a little more give-and-take.

Thorne: Uh-hmm. I give the money --

Sally: Yeah. And you take half the profits. We make a hell of a team, Thorne. Huh? You know we do. The way we have taken couture market by storm, you'll probably get your investment back in five years.

Clarke: And then from then on out, it's all gravy.

Darla: Wow.

Thorne: It's a good offer.

Clarke: You know, Thorne, Sally wouldn't make this offer to just anyone. I hope you know that.

Sally: He's right. I made you this offer because I believe in you. And, I'll be honest -- without you, I've got a very tough road to hoe here. But with you? The sky's the limit.

Thorne: You're a hell of a businesswoman, Sally, I'll give you that.

Sally: I'll be an even better partner.

Thorne: If we invest. 50 million?

Sally: Oh, come on. You know how to get your hands on that kind of cash, Thorne. I know you do. I mean, it's not like I'm asking you to tip over an ATM machine or something.

***************************************************************

Nick: Well, Bridget needed someone to talk to. I had an ear to bend.

Brooke: You were very sweet to her.

Nick: Well, it's not like it's very tough. She's a great gal, you know?

Brooke: Yes, she is. Oh, would you like a glass of wine?

Nick: Okay.

Brooke: I'm so relieved to see that she's her old self again.

Nick: I knew she'd come around eventually.

Brooke: Thanks to your friendship.

Nick: Oh, please. Any "breakthrough" she had she did on her own.

Brooke: Well, that's not the sense I got. Hey, you forget who you're talking to here.

Nick: I remember.

Brooke: I know what your friendship means. How you can pull somebody out of their darkest hour and show them there's light at the end of the tunnel. Because you did that for me. What you've done for me, and now for my daughter -- I am eternally grateful to you, Nick.

**************************************************************************

Stephanie: I don't have to stir up trouble, Bridget. I leave that to Amber.

Bridget: Then why would you go to my mom?

Stephanie: I was concerned about her.

[ Bridget scoffs ]

Stephanie: Well, that may sound strange coming from me, but it's true.

Bridget: You going to talk to my mom about me and Ridge is about as helpful as Amber taking that picture.

Stephanie: Well, no, I don't think it's quite the same thing. I just wanted us to all be vigilant so that if something happened, we could address the issue immediately.

Bridget: We? I'm still trying to understand when this became part of your business.

Stephanie: You're my family, Bridget. That makes it my business. And whether you choose to believe it or not, I was simply trying to protect your mother's marriage.

Bridget: See, Stephanie, you going and talking to my mom about me and Ridge makes mom think that her marriage is in danger -- when it isn't.

Stephanie: Good. Then we can put it all behind us.

Bridget: Agreed.

Stephanie: Maybe you're already doing that.

Bridget: Meaning?

Stephanie: Well, you and Nick the other day were -- sort of flirty with one another. No?

Bridget: Nick? And me? Oh, give me a break. No, we're just friends.

Stephanie: Sure about that?

Bridget: I am absolutely positive.

Stephanie: Well, it seemed to me that you went through a lot of trouble earlier today to bring a trainer over here with an orangutan in order just to get Nick to have a good laugh.

Bridget: It was just an inside joke.

Stephanie: Oh, so you have inside jokes?

Bridget: You know, that's what friends do. They just -- they have fun.

Stephanie: Well, sometimes, you know, it's the beginning of something -- deeper, bigger.

Bridget: With Nick and me? Oh, no. Stephanie, the man has disgusting table manners and he's just -- he's surly and --

Stephanie: Well, in some quarters, that might be considered part of his charm.

Bridget: Oh, my goodness, no. The man has lived on a boat, alone, most of his life. What does that tell you about him?

Stephanie: That he hasn't found the right woman yet.

[ Bridget scoffs ]

Stephanie: Not that I'm trying, I mean, I'm not trying to foster anyone on you.

Bridget: Okay. Uh-hmm. Well, you could've fooled me.

Stephanie: I'm just, you know, making the observation that he seems to -- he seems to make you happy.

Bridget: Well, I think you've lost your touch. You were wrong about Ridge and me. And you couldn't be more wrong about Nick and me. We're just friends. That's all.

***************************************************************

Brooke: After what you and I went through, I was afraid you'd sail off and never come back.

Nick: The thought did go through my mind, you know?

Brooke: But you didn't.

Nick: It's too much trouble.

Brooke: Well, whatever the reason, I'm glad that you stayed and continue to be my friend.

Nick: Me, too.

Brooke: But I get the feeling that you've been spending time with Bridget and helping her because you know how important she is to me.

Nick: Well, she's a good egg. Like her mother. She deserves to be happy.

Brooke: So do you, Nick. Thank you, again, for helping her. And our family.

[ Baby crying ] Oh, it's R.J. I think he's getting hungry.

Nick: I'll see myself out.

Brooke: Okay. Good to see you.

Nick: Good to see you.

*************************************************************

Darla: 50 million? Well, I guess you could go back to the bank where you were going to get the loan to buy Forrester.

Thorne: Can't.

Darla: Why not?

Thorne: Because Spectra isn't Forrester. It's way too risky.

Darla: So we couldn't do this even if we wanted to?

Thorne: We could. If I could get my family to buy me out of my shares of Forrester Creations.

Darla: Oh, Thorne -- I know how much that company means to you. How much your family means to you.

Thorne: Well, Ridge is always saying we need to separate business from family, so --

Darla: Honey, it's not that easy. To sever ties with Forrester, permanently?

Thorne: Honey, I'll be an equal partner at Spectra, in a way that I never will at Forrester. Ironic --

Darla: Well, whatever you decide, honey, I'm behind you. You know that.

Thorne: This is our life we're talking about. Our future with Alexandria. I can't decide this alone. Level with me, Darla -- do you think it's foolish investing our life savings in Spectra, or do you think we're fools not to?

*********************************************************

Bridget: God, Nick -- what're you doing here?

Nick: That's a warm reception. You okay?

*********************************************************

Darla: Well, I can't evaluate the business for you. I can only advise you as your wife.

Thorne: The best advisor I've ever had.

Darla: Okay. Do you really want to go back to Forrester after everything that's happened?

Thorne: Ridge promised things would be different this time and he seems sincere, very sincere.

Darla: And he respects you now, and that's great. It's been a long battle. But I think when it comes to the big decisions over there, he's always going to believe that the designers know best.

Thorne: We would have to work out an approval process.

Darla: Oh, good luck with that one. Do you really want to go back to all that family drama when you have a team here behind you that would do absolutely anything for you?

Thorne: Wouldn't be a little biased, would you?

Darla: Well, Sally has been just like a mother to me. She's been like a mom to you, too. She adores you, Thorne. She's made that clear.

Thorne: Subtly is not her strong suit.

Darla: Yeah, but look at everything you two have accomplished together. And she's right -- the sky is the limit.

Thorne: Or we could go down in a ball of flames.

Darla: Oh, come on.

Thorne: Honey, look, I'm not saying that's going to happen, okay? But this is a gigantic risk giving up my equity in Forrester Creations, you know? And I've got a family to provide for. I want Alexandria to have as many things and opportunities as she can have.

Darla: She has everything she needs to be a happy child. She has parents that love her and love each other. And if you can remember that, just do whatever it is that you believe in. Baby, you can't go wrong.

[ Thorne sighs ]

Darla: You're still undecided, aren't you?

Thorne: I guess my piece in Forrester means more to me than I realized.

*************************************************************************

Bridget: Um, no. Actually, I'm fine. Nothing's wrong. I just wasn't expecting you to be here, that's all.

Nick: Brooke called and asked me to come over, actually.

Bridget: Oh. It's cool you two can still be friends, you know?

Nick: Yeah. Well, look, I'm on my way out.

Bridget: Okay -- wait! Nick, um -- do you have to rush off so fast?

Nick: Well, no, not really. You seemed a little preoccupied, so --

Bridget: Oh, well, I suppose I am. I just -- you know, something big kinda happened tonight, so --

Nick: A breakthrough?

Bridget: How did you know?

Nick: Your mom told me. That's all she said though, honest.

Bridget: Oh, it's fine. I just -- yeah. Mom and Ridge and I confronted the issue, you know, head on.

Nick: Wow. Must have been tough, huh?

Bridget: Um, yeah, at first. But you know what? It actually felt really good to tell my mom that my feelings for Ridge are gone, and mean it.

Nick: Big weight off your shoulders.

Bridget: Yeah. Yeah. And can you believe that I actually might be ready to meet someone special?

Nick: Oh, that will be one lucky sailor.

Bridget: Oh, a sailor, huh?

Nick: It's a figure of speech. Could do a lot worse.

Bridget: Yeah, I certainly could.

Nick: I'm happy to see you happy.

Bridget: Yeah?

Nick: Mm-hmm. Even though you were raised in Beverly Hills, that doesn't mean life's always easy. A lot of people that have been through what you've been through, they're either coming out of rehab, they’ve been married two or three times. You're first class, that's why you've come out of this okay.

Bridget: I don't know that I could've done it without you, though.

Nick: Oh, please. You could have done anything you wanted to do without me.

Bridget: Why do you do that?

Nick: Do what?

Bridget: You downplay what you did for me. You gave me a new perspective and you pointed out that I put Ridge up on a pedestal. You made me realize that I'm not crazy, you know? Because you showed me that I'm not alone in the way that I feel.

Nick: I never once said that you're not crazy.

[ Bridget laughs ]

Bridget: And see -- you make me laugh. Which I haven't done for a while. You know, you've been a really good friend.

Nick: Friend, huh? That's nice. I don't have too many of those.

Bridget: Well, you have one in me for life, whether you want it or not.

Nick: I do. But don't expect me to set you up on any more dates, okay? A sailor I am, fashion guru and mender of broken hearts. But a dating service, I'm not. So you're going to find your special someone all on your own, okay?

Bridget: Deal.

Nick: I'll see you.
