Felicia: So you went through my purse?

Nick: Yeah. I wanted to know what was going on with you.

Felicia: Well, now you know. So keep it to yourself, okay?

Nick: You haven't told anybody about this, have you? Your family? Why?

Felicia: You're so good at figuring things out, tell me.

Nick: You think you need 'em now?

Felicia: I don't want to be the center of attention. I -- I don't want my cancer to be the center of attention.

Nick: They'd want to know.

Felicia: Well, I'm dealing with a lot of things right now, and the last thing that I need is to be worrying about what they want.

Nick: Right.

[ Felicia sighs ]

Nick:  How's the chemo working?

Felicia: Good.

Nick: You're lying.

Felicia: You should go.

Nick: That's why you came back home, isn't it? Because you don't think you're getting better.

Felicia: I just want you to leave.

Nick: I'm not leaving.

Felicia: Look, Nick, I don't need a hero okay? I've been doing this on my own for a long time.

Nick: And it must be awful lonely, isn't it?

Felicia: Just I want you to go. Please, just get out! Get out!

[ Felicia sobbing ]

Nick: You know, I'm used to giving orders. I'm not very good at following them.

Felicia: Maybe you didn't understand what I said.

Nick: I think I did. You're dying.

Felicia: I could be.

Nick: That supposed to scare me?

Felicia: It should.

Nick: Doesn't.

Felicia: It scares me.

Nick: I'm a sailor. If I was afraid of death, I couldn't do my job.

Felicia: Ever come close?

Nick: I've lost men at sea. I've lost my best friend at sea.

Felicia: Well, then you've seen it firsthand. So its even more reason to run like hell, now.

Nick: And that's what you'd want to do, isn't it? You wanna run?

Felicia: Well, you can't run away from your own body.

Nick: So, what's your plan?

Felicia: My plan?

Nick: Yeah. You gotta have a plan.

Felicia: Well, I guess that would be to, um, live every day to the fullest.

Nick: I like that idea. We should all be doing that.

Felicia: Yeah. Some of us just have more motivation than others.

Nick: How much time are we talking here? You seem to be doing pretty well.

Felicia: You think so?

Rick: Do you realize what she's gonna go through, because of you? Come on, Thomas, she thinks of you as a friend.

Thomas: I am her friend. If you ask me, I did her a favor.

Rick: Oh, give me a break. You didn't do this for Caitlin. You did this to get back at me for warning you about Amber.

Thomas: Well, now Hector's gonna warn Caitlin about you.

Rick: He's gonna do a lot more than warn her.

Thomas: I hope so. I hope he never lets you see her again.

Hector: I knew this job was going to get you in trouble, working in that environment.

Samantha: Hector, it's not about the job.

Hector: Rick is her boss.

Caitlin: No, not really.

Hector: He is a Forrester, Caitlin. He's in a position of authority. That alone makes it inappropriate.

Samantha: Hector, I understand your concern, but I --

Hector: You told me I had nothing to worry about. You swore to me that she would be okay.

Caitlin: Please don't fight.

Hector: I never should have let you take that job, Caitlin. Working with those people.

Caitlin: Those people are my friends.

Hector: No, no. Friends look out for one another. They share the same values.

Caitlin: I'm not going to stop working at Forrester. And I won't stop seeing Rick.

Hector: Oh, yes you will, young lady. I am still your father. And you will do what I tell you to do.

Caitlin: Not this time. You are wrong about Rick.

Hector: Rick is a grown man. He has been married, divorced, had a kid. Why? Why would he be interested in a girl your age?

Caitlin: Because he loves me, and I love him. And I don't care what you say. I won't stop seeing Rick.

Nick: So you're gonna lose your hair, huh?

Felicia: Not all of it.

Nick: Aw, that's too bad. Bald is very hip now.

Felicia: Well, I may get another chance. This is only my first round of chemo.

Nick: So what's next?

[ Felicia chuckles ]

Felicia: I don't know. Can't imagine it'll be all that very pretty, though.

Nick: You're still trying to scare me off?

Felicia: No, I'm not. I just -- I just want to make you understand -- that this is what cancer looks like on a good day. And I don't know how many more of those I have left.

Nick: Well, they must've given ya some idea.

Felicia: They, uh -- they've been waiting to say for sure till they see how I did with the chemo.

Nick: When do you find that out? When do you find that out?

Felicia: I went for a C.A.T. Scan earlier. I just -- I'm waiting to hear the results tonight.

Nick: Tonight? Like, as in now tonight?

Felicia: Yeah, not that I'm real anxious to hear.

Nick: Maybe it'll be good news.

Felicia: I haven't had a whole lot of that lately.

Nick: How long have you been dealing with this?

Felicia: Longer than I know. Um, the doctor said that, uh, the tumor was growing for seven or eight years. It's really hard to comprehend; you know, uh, colon cancer in my 30s.

Nick: Yeah. There's no family history, there'nothing?

Felicia: Not that I know of. And by the time they caught it, it was stage 3.

Nick: And what's that mean?

Felicia: That it had spread past the colon to the lymph nodes. Oh, you, uh, you meant what are my odds, right? Decent, if -- if it hasn't gone any further. But if it spread to my liver or my lungs, that's stage 4. And, um, there's treatment for that, but no known cure. And that's why I went back for the tests, in order to see where I'm at. See where the cancer's at.

Nick: I'd really like to go with you tonight.

Felicia: I can, um -- I can do it on my own.

Nick: I know you can. Just look at me as your personal lucky charm.

[ Felicia sighs ]

Hector: Caty, listen to me. Sometimes men, older men, like Rick, say things that they know you want to hear.

Caitlin: Rick isn't like that.

Samantha: Hector, I spoke with Rick. He seems genuine.

Hector: A man his age expects more from a relationship.

Caitlin: Rick doesn't expect anything from me.

Hector: He could pressure you into doing things You that -- that you don't want to do.

Caitlin: How do you know what I want?

Hector: I'm trying to protect you, Caitlin. That's what parents are supposed to do.

Caitlin: You don't have to protect me from Rick. What we have is special.

Hector: Is that where you were tonight? With him?

Caitlin: Yes. Yes, but --

Hector: And what were you doing, Caty?

Samantha: I'm sure nothing happened. Did it?

Caitlin: No. But it could have.

Samantha: Caitlin, I think what your father was asking --

Caitlin: I know what he's asking, and I know what he thinks. That I'm this little girl. But I'm not. You want to know where I was, Dad? I was at Rick's house, in his bed. And I wanted to make love. And it wouldn't have been ugly or dirty. It would've been beautiful.

Hector: What did he do to you?

Caitlin: Noth -- nothing.

Hector: I want the truth!

Samantha: Oh, Hector, she told you.

Caitlin: We didn't go through with it. I swear.

Samantha: I believe her.

Hector: You've been lying to me for months. Both of you. How can I believe you? How can I ever trust you again?

Samantha: Hector.

Caitlin: Wait, Dad! Where are you going?

Thomas: What's your problem, Rick? You got what you wanted.

Rick: Is that what you think this is about? That I'm using her?

Thomas: Oh, maybe I shouldn't be jumping to conclusions. But maybe you shouldn't have with Amber and me.

Rick: Look, Thomas, nothing is gonna change. Even if you screwed things up with for me and Caitlin, you still can't date Amber. Don't you get that?

Thomas: I'm not a little kid anymore, Rick. You can't tell me what to do. Now, you might want to get dressed. I think you're going to have some company.

[ Hector remembering ]

Caitlin: You want to know

where I was, Dad?

I was at Rick's house.

Nurse: Have a seat. The doctor will be with you shortly.

Felicia: Are those the C.A.T. Scan results?

Nurse: Your chart. The doctor will have your results.

Nick: Thanks.

Nurse: You're welcome.

Felicia: I'm glad you're here.

Nick: Oh, good. So am I.

Felicia: Your timing kind of sucks, though.

Nick: What do you mean?

Felicia: All the years I spent looking for someone like you.

Nick: Obnoxious and annoying?

Felicia: No, someone real.

Doctor: Hello, Felicia.

Felicia: Doctor. Hi. Um, this is my friend, Nick Marone.

Nick: How are you?

Doctor: Hi, nice to meet you.

Nick: You, too.

Doctor: I'm glad to see that Felicia has some support.

Felicia: Uh, what do you man by that? Is it bad news?

[ Phone rings ]

Rick: Hello.

Caitlin: Rick. It's me.

Rick: Hey, are you okay?

Caitlin: My dad knows. He found out from --

Rick: Thomas. I know. He was just here. Did your dad tear into you?

Caitlin: Yeah.

Rick: I'm so sorry.

Caitlin: It's okay. I should have told him myself.

Rick: Well, listen, maybe I can come over and try to explain --

Caitlin: No, he's not here. I think he's on his way to see you.

Rick: Good. Caitlin: No, it's not. You have to get out of there.

Rick: Look, I'm not going to run away, Caitlin.

Caitlin: He's really angry, Rick.

Rick: Well, I'll bet. After the stuff Thomas said to him, I'll need to talk to him.

Caitlin: Tomorrow. Just give him time to calm down.

Rick: Look, I'm gonna be fine, all right? I'm going to go outside and wait for him right now.

Caitlin: In this rain?

Rick: Yeah. That way, he'll know that I'm ready to talk and that I'm not hiding from him. Don't worry. I'll be okay.

Caitlin: Be careful. This is gonna be so awful.

[ Echoing ]

Caitlin: I wanted to make love to him. And it wouldn't have been ugly or dirty. It would have been beautiful.

Hector: Damn you, Rick.

Hector: Oh, my god!

[ Tires screech ] Oh, god! Rick? Rick, my god! My god, I didn't see you! Rick!

[ Rick gasps ]

Hector:  Hold on. Dispatch. Dispatch. This is firefighter Hector Ramirez, unit 293. I have an auto versus pedestrian down. 200 North Beston Place. Start ambulance and paramedics. Pedestrian is in respiratory distress, possible internal injuries. Rick, listen to me. We've got an ambulance on the way, okay? Don't move. Do you understand what I'm saying?

Rick: Yes.

Hector: Okay. You've gotta stay awake. I'm gonna give you some oxygen.

[ Hector remembering ]

Caitlin: You want to know where I was, dad? I was at Rick's house. In his bed. [ Echoing ] In his bed.

Rick: Can't breathe.

Hector: Did you have sex with my daughter? Answer me! Did you have sex with Caitlin?

Announcer: Coming soon to "The Bold and the Beautiful" --

Deacon: You got a husband that wants out. You got -- look at me -- you got a guy that wants in. All you gotta do is just make it official.

Samantha: Your father wouldn't hurt Rick, would he?

Caitlin: He just needs to give Rick a chance to explain.

Hector: Did you or did you not have sex with my daughter?

Rick: No.

Hector: And you never will!
