Samantha: Thank you so much for all of this.

Stephanie: I'm just happy that we could do it.

Eric: Thomas and the girls are spending the night. What's a few more?

Stephanie: That's right. Sam, you know you and your family are always welcome here.

Samantha: Well, if you hadn't invited me to come live here, I would have just gone back to new york. I never would have met my daughter.

Stephanie: I know -- just luck. Just luck that you found one another.

Eric: Caitlin's a terrific girl.

Samantha: Yes, she is, isn't she?

Stephanie: Just like you.

Samantha: Oh -- where are the kids?

Eric: They're upstairs --playing video games. Tearing it up.

Stephanie: Well, Tom will come down instantly when he knows that Caitlin is in the building.

Eric: I'm sure he will.

Samantha: And Hector should be here soon.

Stephanie: Well, let's sit down and talk!

Eric: Can I get you something? Do you want a drink?

Samantha: Ah, no thank you.

Stephanie: Now listen, don't worry about anything.

Samantha: Is it obvious? I'm nervous.

Stephanie: Mm-hmm

Samantha: Hector and Caitlin asked me to move in.

Eric: That's wonderful.

Samantha: It's a big step.

Stephanie: Well, yes, it is are you ready for that?

Samantha: We'll see.

Stephanie: Well, you have a lot of catching up to do.

Samantha: That's what tonight's about.

Stephanie: Everything's all set in the guest house.

Eric: You and Hector can just relax and enjoy yourselves.

Stephanie: Yeah, the kids will stay over here -- overnight -- with us. And, you know, let nature take its course, and see what happens. Just don't worry about anything.

[ Knocking on door ]

Samantha: That's them.

Eric: Hector. It's good to see you again.

Hector: Thank you, sir.

Eric: Well, come in -- come in.

Caitlin: Hi, mom.

Samantha: Hi.

Hector: Good to see you.

                        *******************************************************************************

Massimo: Oscar. There you are.

Oscar: Hey.

Massimo: What are you reading?

Oscar: Just a little family history.

Massimo: Which one? These shelves are filled with them.

Oscar: Gotta make you proud. Makes me proud.

Massimo: You're a good man.

Oscar: I'm a Marone. Massimo, I hate to keep bringing this up --

Massimo: Hmm-mm. I haven't forgotten, Oscar.

Oscar: Okay, well, last time we talked, you said you said you were gonna talk to nick about it.

Massimo: He's been a little preoccupied.

Oscar: All right. Well, just so you know, nothing has changed since the other day. I still think I'm really wasting my time at Forrester Creations.

Massimo: Things haven't gotten better over there since Thorne was made president?

Oscar: No. And they're not gonna. Don't get me wrong. They gave me a fair shot. All right? But I just don't think I fit in over there.

Massimo: So you want to work for Marone Industries. You want to earn your ring.

Oscar: What do you want? What do you want me to do? I'll start at the bottom. I'll work on the docks. I'll drive a forklift. I'll lug crates. Whatever you want. I'll do whatever you want, really.

Massimo: So you would prefer to work on the docks instead of having your little office at Forrester Creations?

Oscar: What can I tell you? Fashion's not my thing.

Massimo: Getting a little impatient, huh?

Oscar: No. Just hungry. Okay. Okay, look. I know I don't have a lot of experience. I don't have a lot of education, I know. But I can offer something very important -- loyalty. Right? And family unity. I know how important that is to you. It's important to me, too. I just -- I wanna be a part of this. I wanna be a part of all this, the tradition. The --

Nick: Pop? Sorry.

Massimo: It's all right.

Oscar: Just think about it. Okay?

Massimo: I will.

Oscar: Okay. I'll get out of your hair.

Nick: Oscar.

Oscar: See ya.

Nick: I interrupt something?

                        ************************************************************************************

Thomas: Hey, Caitlin. Hey, Jimmy.

Jimmy: Thomas.

Thomas: These are my sisters, Steffy and Pphoebe.

Jimmy: Whoa. Am I seeing double?

Eric: It's an amazing story, Hector.

Stephanie: Yes, it is. I can't even begin to imagine how the two of you must feel.

Hector: Very grateful.

Eric: You're a lucky man.

Hector: Yes, I am. Very lucky.

Hector: So nice of you to invite us over.

Stephanie: Oh, please. We're so happy that you're here. Sam is family.

Eric: Which means that you're family, too, Hector. So no more calling me "sir" or "Mr. Forrester."

[ All laugh ]

Hector: Yes, sir.

Eric: No, no, no, no -- very good.

Samantha: I didn't realize you were gonna have such a houseful tonight already.

Stephanie: Oh, it's like old times, isn't it?

Eric: It is. The more the merrier.

Jimmy: Hey, you got a phat crib, Mrs. F.

Stephanie: Oh, well, thank you, mr. J. But you ain't seen nothin' yet. Tom, why don't you guys go down to the pool. Honey, that's phat.

Thomas: Come on, jimmy.

Eric: Do not worry about them. We'll keep an eye on them.

Stephanie: Sam, come over here. I want to show you something.

Samantha: Okay. I'll see you later.

Eric: Well, I know what you're going through, hector -- raising a teenage daughter. I raised three myself.

Hector: Three?

Eric: I could tell you stories.

Hector: I bet. Question is -- do I want to hear them?

Stephanie: Go check, make sure everything is just the way you want it.

Samantha: Okay.

Stephanie: Oh -- and here -- don't forget.

Samantha: Please don't tell me this is lingerie.

Stephanie: Of course, it's lingerie.

Samantha: Thank you.

Stephanie: Have fun.

                        ************************************************************************************

Nick: So Oscar's gunning for a spot in the family business, huh?

Massimo: He made quite a pitch for it.

Nick: Well, we could always use another fast talker.

Massimo: Well, he's a Marone after all. We can't afford to be indiscreet. Oh, speaking of which --

Nick: That's one of the reasons I'm here. I want to let you know that that situation is under control.

Massimo: Our harbor master at Chung wo?

Nick: Taken care of.

Massimo: We've secured a spot there?

Nick: Locked it down this morning.

Massimo: All right. How about the highway construction?

Nick: It should be finished right on time.

Massimo: All right. Now that is gonna make Chung Wo one of the busiest ports in the East Asian corridor.

Nick: And where does that put us -- right on the ground floor.

Massimo: Good work, Dominic. Good work.

Nick: Thanks. That's not the only reason I'm here.

Massimo: Oh? You have something else in mind?

Nick: If you haven't heard, there's this wedding thing coming up.

Massimo: Yeah, as a matter of fact, I heard a rumor to that effect. It's really killing you not to light that thing, huh?

Nick: I'm dying.

Massimo: All right. So what's been taking up all your time?

Nick: I need some help with something.

Massimo: You name it, Dominick, it's yours.

Nick: I'd like you to be my best man?

                        **********************************************************************************

Hector: Where's Samantha?

Stephanie: She's waiting for you in the guest house. Now, go on.

Caitlin: Are you sure Jimmy's going to be okay out there with the girls?

Thomas: He'll be fine. They love him.

Caitlin: Well, of course they do. But that's not why they dragged him away, is it?

Thomas: Busted.

Caitlin: You wanted to get me alone.

Thomas: I wanted to see how you're doing.

Caitlin: I'm great.

Thomas: It's not too much finding out Samantha's your mom?

Caitlin: No, that's what I've always wanted, Thomas.

Thomas: Yeah. That's what you said on the phone.

Caitlin: Oh, you thought I'd be freaking out?

Thomas: I wouldn't blame you.

Caitlin: No, I'm happy. I just -- I don't want to mess anything up.

Thomas: Like what?

Caitlin: I asked samantha to move in with us.

Thomas: And what'd she say?

Caitlin: Well, she's thinking about it.

Thomas: Well, that's good.

Caitlin: Yeah, I think she wants to. But she hasn't seen my dad in years. They just have to get to know each other again.

Thomas: That's what tonight's about. Dinner for two.

Caitlin: Yeah. I didn't say anything to my dad. Samantha -- mom wanted it to be a surprise.

Thomas: Oh, he's going to be surprised all right.

Caitlin: I hope so.

Hector: Samantha? Sam?

Samantha: I'm right here.

Caitlin: There you are.

Thomas: How was the tour?

Jimmy: It was great except I keep getting my guides mixed up. Now, which one are you again?

Phoebe: She's Steffy.

Steffy: She's Phoebe.

Jimmy: That was scary.

Thomas: Yeah.

[ Laughter ]

Jimmy: Where's dad?

Caitlin: He went to the guest house.

Jimmy: Oh -- so it's on?

Caitlin: They're just having dinner, Jimmy.

Jimmy: Yeah, but if it goes well --

[ Laughter ]

Caitlin: It will. It has to.

Eric: Hector seems like a very nice man.

Stephanie: Yes he does.

Eric: Well, after everything Sam's been through, she deserves to have something good in her life.

Stephanie: He's still crazy about her after all this time.

Eric: My god, Caitlin and Samantha right under our noses all this time and we had no idea.

Stephanie: Life's so strange, isn't it? Some people have all the luck. Some people don't have any. But these two-- think how lucky they are to have found each other again.

                        *************************************************************************************

Hector: You look stunning.

Samantha: Thank you.

Hector: And this -- wow!

Samantha: Well, I thought we needed a little time by ourselves. And Stephanie and Eric agreed to watch the kids so we could get reacquainted.

Hector: So we're not gonna have dinner with them?

Samantha: No. We're going to have dinner right here. Just the two of us.

Hector: Now I know why you asked me to bring those sleeping bags over.

Samantha: Mm-hmm. We have a lot of catching up to do.

Hector: Yes, we do.

[ Glasses clank]

                        *********************************************************************************

Massimo: You want me to be your best man?

Nick: You want the job?

Massimo: It would be my honor.

Nick: Well, you say that now, but just wait till I have you runnin' my errands.

Massimo: Hmm -- anything for my son. What do you want me to do?

Nick: Well, you better be careful. I may have you scrapin' barnacles off "the shady marlin" before my honeymoon cruise.

Massimo: Well, that's not such a bad idea. I tell you what, let me take care of the honeymoon.

Nick: No, no, no. I got it covered. Thank you.

Massimo: Well, how 'bout a bachelor party.

Nick: No. No batchelor party. I don't --

Massimo: Come on, it's traditional.

Nick: Well, I'm an untraditional guy. You know that.

Massimo: All right. Are you sure?

Nick: I've got a kid on the way. And no baby showers.

Massimo: Oh damn, the one thing I wanted. Okay, all right, what can I do for you?

Nick: Just be there for me.

Massimo: Oh, Dominick, I have dreamed of this day, sending my son off to start his own family. See, my father never had the opportunity to do this for me. And for so long, I never thought I'd have the experience for myself. But now -- now, I understand. I mean, no matter what success I have achieved, nothing -- nothing -- compares to this. The satisfaction of being a parent. And before long, you're gonna know that, too.

Nick: Hey, the kid's not even hatched and you already got him hitched.

Massimo: I know, but it's the joy of parenthood, my son. I mean, to watch your child's life unfold right in front of you. See, I missed out on so much of that with both you and ridge.

Nick: Well, you're not gonna miss out on this. I want you right there beside me.

Massimo: Nothing will make me happier.

Nick: Good. Well, I got a lot to do for this wedding. Now, remember, this is not an honorary title, the best man, you know? Because I'm gonna work you hard. I want you to put your shoulder down and really dig in, is that clear?

Massimo: Aye, aye, captain.

[ Nick laughing ]

                        *****************************************************************************

Stephanie: Well, their dinner just arrived.

Eric: Well, you've thought of everything, haven't you?

Stephanie: Oh no, no. She ordered it. She's probably so excited she'll never eat it.

Eric: Geez, I hope it works out.

Stephanie: I hope so too.

Eric: You know, it's been a long time. People change.

Stephanie: Yes. Yes, some people do. But I don't think Sam's changed very much. She's pretty much as I remembered her. I think Hector would probably say the same thing. And, honey, don't forget -- they share a child together.

Eric: You're right, that is a pretty special bond.

Stephanie: You don't have to tell me that.

                        *******************************************************************************

Thomas: You guys just hung out in your room?

Caitlin: Yeah, looking through old scrapbooks and photo albums. There was so much I wanted to tell her, everything really, my whole life.

Thomas: I know what you mean.

Caitlin: You wish you could talk to your mom, too.

Thomas: Only to tell her about you.

Caitlin: I'm sorry.

Thomas: No, don't be. I mean, it's great what's happening to your family. You thought your mom was dead, but now she's back.

Caitlin: And you wish that could happen to you too.

Thomas: That's impossible.

Caitlin: Still, you've been thinking about it.

Thomas: I just see how happy your dad is, and I can't remember the last time my dad was like that. I mean, I don't mean to sound selfish or anything.

Caitlin: No, no, I understand.

Thomas: At least something nice is happening to somebody. It's been a while since we had some good news around here.

Caitlin: Well, if the dinner goes well, we may be getting more of it.

                        ***********************************************************************************

Hector: This is nice.

Samantha: I guess maybe I should have told you what I had planned.

Hector: Why, and spoil the surprise?

Samantha: I just thought maybe we could use some time alone.

Hector: Well, we're not going have much of that if you move in.

Samantha: Yeah. We need to talk about that.

Hector: Samantha, I swear to you this was Caitlin's idea. I did not put her up to it.

Samantha: But you wouldn't mind?

Hector: Mind?

Samantha: Do you want me to move in?

Hector: Oh, baby.

Samantha: Well, maybe I could stay in the guest room, until -- okay, not the guest room.

Hector: No.

Samantha: Right. There's still some things to consider though, like closet space and, well, you only have one bathroom. And I have a dog. She's just a puppy, but -- aren't you gonna say anything?

Hector: You are the most gorgeous woman I have ever seen. You were always beautiful, Samantha, but now you're just -- wow. But you're the mother of my child. You're radiant, baby. What's that look? I told you I would love you forever. And I don't need more time. It's still you, honey. And it's always been you.
