Eric: Tonight we regain control of our business once and for all.

Stephanie: If Deacon signs your contract.

Eric: He'll sign it.

Jonathan: Which case Deacon forfeits all voting rights on his son's behalf in exchange for 1/3 interest in Sharpe designs. A no-name start-up controlled by its parent company, Forrester Creations.

Stephanie: Yes. And Eric gets to determine the fate of this little company -- it's success or its failure.

Eric: Oh, it'll fail, I promise you that. We'll humor Deacon along for a while, but it won't be long before his little fledgling design house is in the red, and then he'll be out of our business and out of our family's life forever.

                        ************************************************************************************************

Bridget: Deacon, you have a lot of talent. I've always known that. You've just never had a chance to really prove yourself.

Deacon: Now, wait a minute. I did a pretty good job at this music agent thing. Come on.

Bridget: Yes, you were good. But this is so different. This is your own company. Your own vision.

Deacon: I know, I -- I can't believe this. I mean I'm so psyched about this. I know I can do this.

Bridget: I know you can too. You're going to be amazing.

Deacon: Thanks to you.

Bridget: No, thanks to you and your drive and your determination. What?

Deacon: I just keep thinking about what if I didn't vote your dad back into office, you know --

Bridget: Hey, Deacon, this isn't just paying back a favor. I mean, obviously, yes. My dad is very grateful to you. But listen to me, he is a hell of a businessman. And he would not have taken you under his wing if he wasn't totally impressed with you and your ideas.

Deacon: You're right. Thanks. Thank you for believing in me.

Bridget: Yeah.

Bridget: Okay, I -- my dad is waiting for you.

Deacon: Yeah, I don't want to keep him waiting. I'm gonna go.

Bridget: Good luck.

                        ****************************************************************************************

Ridge: I counted on you, little brother. I counted on you when I needed you most. You betrayed me. You just couldn't wait, could you? You saw me fall into those flames, and you just figured you finally had your chance. Brooke was out of her mind with grief, but you -- you didn't care. Made her a easy target, didn't it? You make me sick!

Nick: It didn't happen the way you may think.

Ridge: A little late for excuses, eh, Nick? I asked you to look after Brooke. To look after her, not do what you did.

Nick: Do it. Do it, Forrester. I got it coming. Do it. Do it!

Ridge: Damn you, Payne!

                        *************************************************************************************

Jonathan: Eric, before you meet with Deacon, a word of caution. The language in that contract is extremely one-sided. And he's no fool. I mean, if he has any reservations --

Eric: Jonathan, Deacon Sharpe is a two-bit opportunist. He'll sign on the dotted line quicker than you can say "majority control." I just -- I just have to be very careful, that's all.

[Phone beeps] yeah. All right, give me a moment and, uh -- send him in. Show time.

Jonathan: Remember, he has to sign both stock certificates as well.

Eric: Yeah. Deacon!

Deacon: Hey, Eric.

Eric: I'm glad you could make it.

Deacon: Are you kidding me? I wouldn't have missed this for the world.

Eric: I have the papers we were talking about. So let's get down to business.

Deacon: Okay.

                        **************************************************************************************

Stephanie: Let me guess why you're here. Because of your father's little plan.

Thorne: He told you about Deacon?

Stephanie: And you agree with this deception?

Thorne: Mother, Forrester Creations is dad's company.

Stephanie: Honey, look. I do understand. It's not the most ideal situation to have Deacon in control of these very critical voting rights. I understand that.

Thorne: Well, good. Then you should back dad 100%.

Stephanie: I don't agree with your father using these unethical tactics.

Thorne: There is nothing unethical about getting Deacon to sign his 2% of Forrester over. It's called, "divine retribution," mother.

Stephanie: Your father is lying, and he's taking advantage of the situation.

Thorne: So what?

Stephanie: So what? I feel that Deacon's changed.

Thorne: Mother, if you're talking about Macy's death, that's changed all of us.

Stephanie: I'm sorry.

Thorne: No, listen. If you want to take pity on this guy, I can't stop you. But if you expect me, dad, or anyone else in this family to care one iota about him? That's not going to happen. I mean, who gives a damn about Deacon Sharpe?

Bridget: I do. Music)

Bridget: So this whole thing with dad supporting Deacon, it's all a lie?

Thorne: It's called dad getting his company back.

Bridget: By cheating? Taking advantage of an innocent man?

Thorne: Innocent? Innocent? How can you, of all of people, say that Bridget?

Bridget: Deacon hurt me, I am not going to deny that. But that doesn't give dad the right to trash his chance at a fresh start. God -- do you have any idea how proud Deacon is of this company? How much it means to him that dad is behind him? And it's all just a lie to steal little Eric's shares, huh? They're not even Deacon's! Dad is gambling with his own grandson's future!

Stephanie: Bridget -- Bridget, whatever happens we'll always take care of little Eric.

Bridget: How, Stephanie? By taking care of his father first? No, no. I don't think so. Not if I have anything to say about it.

Stephanie: Bridget --

Thorne: Let her go.

                        ************************************************************************************

Deacon: Where the hell do lawyers come up with this stuff?

Eric: Yeah -- they make things pretty complicated, don't they? The fact is, it's very, very simple. What we're looking at here is a straight trade.

Deacon: Yeah, little D's 2% for a share in the new company, I get that.

Eric: Mm-hmm. A 1/3 interest, Deacon. I'd say it's a great deal. Deacon? What is it?

Deacon: Eric, this is a great deal, you're right. But this isn't my stock. This is my son's.

Eric: Deacon, look at it. Your own company. Now that's quite an achievement for a young man your age.

Deacon: I'm sorry. I think you just caught me off guard here. You know, you'd said a deal memo, and I'm looking at a complete contract here.

Eric: I'm sorry. You know what happens, I get enthused about something, and I just jump right on it, I -- no second thoughts, no hesitation, I -- you know, I think I see what's going on here, son. When somebody's been knocked down as many times as you have in your life, it's hard to look success right in the eye.

Deacon: Maybe you're right.

Eric: But you know what, you have a chance here to build something that's going to set the whole fashion industry right on it's ear. All you have to do is sign your name and bring it to life.

[Phone ringing]

Eric: Excuse me. Yeah.

Stephanie: Your daughter knows.

Eric: What?

Stephanie: Look, if you're going to pull this thing off, Eric, you better get Deacon to sign that contract now before Bridget gets there.

Eric: Absolutely, I'll do that. Thank you.

Ridge: It wasn't supposed to be like this. Brooke and I were on our honeymoon. We were starting a new life together. And then you go and do what you did. I remember when I first met you -- I walk into my office, and I see you sitting behind my desk with your feet propped up on it. Smoking one of your stogies. Nick Payne, the charming sea captain, going on and on about integrity, respect. You didn't respect me. You didn't respect my marriage. And you sure as hell didn't respect my wife. You can deny it all you want, but you and I both know what happened that night, don't we? You took advantage of Brooke when she was at her lowest. You took advantage of her when she was totally defenseless. Well I don't give a damn if your name is Marone. I am never, never going to forgive you for this. You better pray that that baby is mine. Because if it isn't -- Nick.

                        ************************************************************************

Deacon: Eric, I don't want to get off on the wrong foot here, and it's not that I don't trust you. I just think maybe -- you know, I'd have my own attorney look at this, give it a once over.

Eric: Well you're surely welcome to do that if it'll make you feel better. I want you to feel confident, though, that I've explained everything that there is in this contract to you, and -- this is really just between you and me.

Deacon: It's just, there's so much riding on this.

Eric: Yes, there is. Your son's future.

Deacon: I mean, that's just it. These are little D's shares. They're not even mine.

Eric: And they've been entrusted to you to do what you think is best for your child.

Deacon: Eric, it's not just me, right? I mean, these start-ups -- they're very risky, you admit that?

Eric: Yes, they are. But you're going to be under the umbrella of Forrester Creations.

Deacon: Yeah, that's true.

Eric: Deacon -- little Eric's my grandson. He's my namesake. We're both coming from the same place here. We want -- we want every advantage in life for that little boy. Now it may seem risky right now, but believe me, 10 or 20 years from now, he's going to be better off.

Deacon: Man, I just don't want to screw this up, you know?

Eric: You won't. We won't. We're in this together. Look, Bridget came to me because she thought I would be interested in your ideas, and she was right, I was. Now look, if Bridget believes in you, and if I believe in you, the only thing left is if you believe in yourself.

Deacon: These are like stock certificates.

Eric: Yes, yeah, look what the first one says there.

Deacon: It says, "Sharpe Designs."

Eric: Yeah. Your 33 1/3 percent ownership right there. Sign it on the back.

Deacon: For little D's 2 percent of Forrester creations.

Eric: Which you are now using to create a legacy for your son. Much as I've done with my children.

Bridget: Deacon, wait --

Eric: Too late. It's a done deal. Deacon and I are in business together.

Deacon: Yeah.

                                    *******************************************************************************

Brooke: Ridge? I'm sorry. I'm sorry for so many things. But I'm not sorry for being your wife. And I'm not sorry for carrying your child. Because I know this is your baby. I know it. With everything inside of me. I know you've probably heard enough -- enough from me tonight, so I can go sleep downstairs or over at Rick's.

Ridge: Logan, wait. I don't need more time. I know what I need to do.
