Brooke: Eric, I --

Eric: No! No, Brooke, no! The next words I hear out of your mouth -- I want to be, "Deacon Sharpe is not the father of my baby." Say it!

 Brooke: I can’t.

Eric: Oh, god. It's true. You slept with our daughter's husband! Didn't you?!

Eric: Answer me!

 Brooke: Yes.

                        *************************************************************************************************

Sally: Oh, my goodness! Come in, darling. Come in. Please.

 Macy: Hi, Mom.

Sally: Oh, "hi, mom," hardly seems adequate seems adequate, does it, my darling girl? Oh, god! What can I get you? Would you like some coffee, some tea? A ticket back to Los Angeles?

 Macy: Oh, Mom.

Sally: Sorry, darling. I understand that you've got another life here.

Macy: A complicated one. I can't just leave dad.

Sally: He would understand. Honey, your father loves you more than anything else in this world. And if he thought it would make you happy to go back home, he would understand.

Macy: Yes, but Lorenzo wouldn’t. And he's a good man, Mother. I owe him. I can't just walk out on him.

Sally: I'm not asking you to do that. Okay? You could bring Lorenzo back home with you. You could make a life there, the two of you. Listen, it's possible. He could go to work with C.J. Over at the insomnia, he could open up a place of his own. You could come back to us at spectra. Macy, things could be just like they were before.

Macy: Mom -- you know I would love that. I would. But I just can't do that.

[ Knock at door ]

Thorne: Sally, open up. It's me, Thorne.

                        *****************************************************************************************

Waiter: Signor Sharpe -- you are back. Waiting for somebody?

 Deacon: Yeah.

 Waiter: Ah. Somebody special?

 Deacon: Very.

Waiter: Ah, so, you are going to your dinner after all, huh?

 Deacon: Huh?

Waiter: Earlier, you were asking me about someplace romantico to take a lady to dinner. And then it seemed like -- you changed your mind.

Deacon: Yeah. Well, that didn't work out so well for me.

Waiter: Oh. Would you like another?

 Deacon: Why the hell not?

Waiter: If nothing else, it will dull the pain of rejection, huh?

Deacon: Well, there ain't gonna be any rejection in my future, pal.

                        *********************************************************************************************

Eric: Yeah, well, this all makes sense now. It all makes sense. Bridget not wanting to have anything to do with you was not about her marriage breaking up. It was about her dealing with the fact that you slept with -- god, Brooke, what were you thinking? What the hell were you thinking?!

 Brooke: I don't know, Eric. I wasn't thinking. I made a mistake!

Eric: A mistake? A mistake is something we do unintentionally, Brooke. So what are you telling me? Are you telling me you slept with Deacon by accident? You forgot who he was? You forgot that he was married to your daughter?! What?!

 Brooke: Stop it!

Eric: No, Brooke, you know what? You stop it! You stop it! You stop this! Living your life like you're only person in the world who ever wanted something that they couldn't have! You stop. You stop treating the people who love you and depend on you like they're nothing! Oh, that's right. I forgot. You can't stop yourself! You can't stop yourself from doing anything!

Brooke: Eric -- I hate what I did. And I hate that I hurt Bridget as much as I did. But you have no idea how much I've hated myself!

Eric: Oh, I think I do.

                        **********************************************************************************************

[Knock at door]

Thorne: Come on, Sally. I know you're in there. Let me in.

Sally: You're going to have to give me a few minutes. I need to make myself decent. What's he doing here?

Macy: He's probably here to see me.

 Sally: You?

[Macy sighs]

 Macy: I saw him.

Sally: Oh, no. Macy, please don't tell me you did that.

[Knock at door]

Thorne: Come on, Sally. Let me in. Come on.

Macy: I can't deal with this, okay? Just please -- please get rid of him.

Sally: I'll take care of everything. There's a closet over there. You can hide in there. Okay? Just go ahead.

 Macy: Okay.

Sally: I'd say I'm happy to see you, but you know I'd be lying.

 Thorne: Where is she, Sally?

 Sally: Who?

Thorne: Macy. I know you know she's here in Italy. I'm not leaving until you tell me where. Sally, please, listen to me.

                        **********************************************************************************************

Eric: My god, Brooke! How could you let this happen? How could you let it happen?

Brooke: There's no explanation, Eric. There's no excuse. And I'm not going to make any. I take full responsibility for what I've done.

Eric: Well, I'm sure that's a great consolation to Bridget.

Brooke: You know, I held that little girl in my arms, and I promised to protect her and to be the one person that would be there for her if she was scared or if needed someone. And what did I do? I let her down, and I betrayed her. I tore her whole world apart because of my stupid, selfish act.

Eric: You didn't just sleep with her husband! You got pregnant with his baby! Do you know how hard it is for me to even say that?!

 Brooke: I'm sorry.

Eric: You're sorry, and that's gonna make everything all right?

Brooke: No, I know it's not gonna make it all right, Eric! But I am sorry! I am sorry that I hurt our daughter. I'm sorry that I disappointed you. 'Cause you hate me. I can see it. I can see it right there in your eyes. Why wouldn't you hate me after what I've done?

[ Brooke sobbing ]

Brooke: Oh, I couldn't stand it if you ever turned your back on me.

Eric: I would never be able to turn my back on you. God, help me. And if Bridget forgives you, then so do I.

Eric: It's hard to believe this sweet little angel is Deacon Sharpe's baby.

Brooke: I like to think of her as my child.

Eric: And so she is. But Deacon is her father, and -- we can never let that get out. Not just for her sake, but for Bridget’s sake, too.

 Brooke: You're right.

Eric: Who else knows about this?

 Brooke: Stephanie and Megan.

Eric: Stephanie? She's been so supportive of you lately.

Brooke: Well, she wasn't, at first. After she delivered the baby, then the three of us bonded. She didn't think I could raise Hope alone. But she was there, and I did need help, so --

Eric: But no one else, then?

Brooke: Well, there is one other person.

 Eric: Who?

 Brooke: Massimo.

 Eric: Massimo?

Brooke: That was Stephanie’s doing. I think he was there when Bridget needed help.

Eric: Stephanie took Bridget to him? And not one of you came to me. Am I nothing in this family?

 Brooke: Eric --

Eric: Wait. All right, so -- you and Bridget and Stephanie and Megan and Massimo and me. Anyone else?

 Brooke: Well, Deacon, of course.

Eric: But you said that he agreed not to say anything.

Brooke: Well, he did, but --

Eric: But now he's here, of course. What is he -- why's he here? What does he want? Is he blackmailing you?

Brooke: No, I don't think he wants money.

Eric: Then what does he want? What does he want?

Brooke: He wants to be back in my life.

Eric: Well, you have to say no to him. You have to be able to say no to him.

Brooke: Eric, I tried. I'm afraid of what he's might do.

Eric: What? What can he do? Tell Bridget? She knows.

Brooke: He's threatening to tell Ridge.

Eric: Well, he can’t. He can't tell Ridge!

Brooke: He might just do that.

                        *********************************************************************************************

Thorne: I need to see her.

Sally: You need to see her? And that automatically takes precedence over everything else?

Thorne: Sally, listen -- I know how you feel about me. But I am certain, if given another chance with Macy, I can make it right this time. I know I can, Sally. I felt it when I was with her. And she felt it, too. I know she did.

Sally: I don't know what my daughter was feeling, but what you were feeling was pure selfish lust!

Thorne: Sally, what Macy and I shared goes way beyond that. I've never felt for anyone the way that I feel for her. I love her, more than I've ever loved anyone in my whole life. She's my whole life. And I swear, sally -- I swear, if you tell me where she is, I will make up for all the hurt that I caused her. I will make her happy, okay? I will, Sally. I promise you. I will love her. I will honor her. I will cherish her. I will give her the life that she deserves.

Sally: I have heard all this before, Throne!

Thorne: I know. I know you have, Sally, okay? But this time I mean it, because I know -- I know what life is like without her. Please, tell me where she is. I need to make her understand, sally. I need to let her know that she means everything in this world to me. Please? Because I can't imagine going on living life without her. No. I can't imagine living another day without her.

Thorne: Sally, you know where she is. Please tell me.

 Sally: I can't help you. I'm sorry.

 Thorne: Yeah. Me, too.

Sally: No, no. No, no. Macy, please. Don't do it. Don't do it. Don’t.

 Macy: God.

                        ************************************************************************************

[Deacon daydreaming]

 Deacon: Mm.

Brooke: Thought I'd cool you down before I heat you up.

Deacon: Told Ridge how you feel?

 Brooke: Ridge who?

Deacon: Oh, I do like the way you're talking.

Brooke: You were right, Deacon. It's one disappointment after another with Ridge. And if I let myself fall for him, I end up getting hurt.

Deacon: Brooke, I'll never hurt you.

Brooke: I know you wouldn’t. And I should've realized that a long time ago. I should've realized that you’re the best thing that could ever happen to me.

Deacon: I'm gonna make you so happy.

Brooke: You already have. You've given me everything I could ever want. Love, a family -- what else could a girl ask for?

Deacon: Honey, you could ask for the world, and I'd give it to you.

Brooke: All I want right now is you.

Waiter: Mr. Sharpe? Mr. Sharpe --

 Deacon: Yeah.

 Waiter: We're closing.

Deacon: Oh, okay. All right. All right, I'm leaving. But I'll be back.

                        ***********************************************************************************

Brooke: If Ridge finds out about all this -- god, I hate to even think about it. He's been through so much lately. But Deacon is so jealous. He sees Ridge and me getting closer, and he's gonna try to do anything to stop it.

Eric: No. Ridge needs you right now.

Brooke: I know. How could I let this happen?

Eric: All right, don't worry. Don't worry. I'm not gonna let deacon hurt anyone in this family.
