Ridge: Giulio, I'm meeting Sally Spectra here. She has all my designs.
Giulio: Your gowns have been secured in one of our private conference rooms. Here's the key.
Ridge: So, Sally's here?
Giulio: No, she's staying in Camogli, just down the coast.
Ridge: They're not staying in Portofino?
Giulio: Everything has been arranged, don't worry. The Cenobio Dei Dogi is a fine hotel. Your friends will be well taken care of.
Ridge: I don't know, Giulio. Sally Spectra had very high expectations for this trip. She can be a very hard woman to please.

Clarke: Okay, don't worry this hotel has a bunch of beautiful amenities.
Sally: I don't want to hear about it, Bucky, I just want to go to my room.
Cenobio manager: Very good, very good, signora Spectra. Everything has been prepared for you.
Sally: Listen, pal, if everything had been prepared for me, we wouldn't even be checking into this hotel.
Clarke: Okay, okay, take it easy.
Sally: Okay?
Clarke: Take it easy, Ms. Spectra doesn't mean to be rude. She just had a long and very tough day. But you have a beautiful hotel.
Cenobio manager: Grazie. But you haven't yet seen the best of it. Per favore. Please. Go this way.
Clarke: Please go this way.
Sally: Oh. Oh, this is magnificent. Look at this. Look at that pool. The beautiful people. Oh, Bucky, this is the life.
Clarke: And they've got a view of the city of Camogli. Beautiful, Camogli. This is what I came to Italy to see.
Clarke: Sally, did I ever steer you wrong.
Sally: Yes, you have,
Clarke: Okay. Well, we won't talk about that. We'll enjoy the day.
Sally: No, no. Because this time you haven't steered me wrong. This is perfection. I love this. I love this. Oh.
Clarke: Look at the sea.
Sally: Oh, the sun on the sea. Oh, perfecto!
Clarke: And the hotel?
Sally: Ah, the hotel -- comfortable. They want us.
Clarke: Everything is going to be okay. Everything is going to be wonderful here.
Sally: Yes.
***************************************************************
Stephanie: Well, well, well. Don't we look handsome?
Eric: Well, I better. I'm taking the most beautiful woman in Portofino to the reception tonight.
Stephanie: Grazie.
Eric: Prego.
Stephanie: So, have you seen Ridge?
Eric: I think he's probably still getting ready.
Stephanie: How do you think he's doing?
Eric: I think he's doing great. He's determined to win this competition.
Stephanie: Do you think he's -- do you think he's on, you know, more stable footing, emotionally?
Eric: Yes. Yes, I do. Why? What are you worried about?
Stephanie: What I am always worried about -- Brooke. He's just getting back on his feet. And I don't want her to take advantage.

[ Brooke remembering ]
Brooke: I'm going to have the office messenger send over a check. And it's going to set you up so that you can take time to find a job. How does that sound?
Deacon: Just about right.
Brooke: And if you want, I could call back east and try to line something up for you.
Deacon: Sure.
Brooke: Okay. It's best this way. I mean you certainly couldn't stay here and not be a part of Hope's life or mine. And you understand why, right?
Deacon: Yeah.
Brooke: Well, so it's a deal.
Ridge: Hey, Logan.
Brooke: Ridge.
Ridge: What are you doing here?
Brooke: I'm waiting for you.
Ridge: Oh. You're waiting for me?
Brooke: We're all going to walk over to the reception together.
Ridge: Right. The reception.
Brooke: How you holding up?
Ridge: To tell you the truth -- I'm feeling better than I have in months. I know I should be exhausted -- working like I've been working, taking care of the kids, preparing for this trip. But I'm not. I feel --
Brooke: Energized?
Ridge: It's more than that. I usually get pretty keyed up for a show. I have to be on top of all the details, totally in charge. This feels different to me now.
Brooke: It doesn't feel like work, does it?
Ridge: No. I don't feel like I am worrying about anything. I'm actually enjoying myself. Maybe it's this place.
Brooke: It is very soothing.
Ridge: It's magical, is what it is. Boats in the harbor, the sound of the sea.
Brooke: I can see why your Mother loves it so much. I'm sure Taylor would love it, too.
Ridge: Yeah. She would have.
***************************************************************
Sally: Oh, what is this?
Cenobio manager: Caviar and Italy's most delicious sparkling wine. Just as you requested, signor Garrison.
Sally: Bucky, you did this?
Clarke: I thought a few bubbles, some caviar -- it will take the edge off of this hurtful day.
Sally: Take the edge off?! My darling, if the rest of this day is anything like this, it is going to be smooth as silk.
Cenobio manager: Everything is good?
Sally: Everything is perfecto, signor! Grazie. Grazie. Ah, si. Now, this is what I call VIP treatment. Look out, Italy! Sally Spectra and company have finally arrived.
*****************************************************************
Eric: I can't believe you are talking about Brooke like this again. I thought you were friends now?
Stephanie: Well, let's say that I know her better than I ever have before. And that knowledge only justifies my fears.
Eric: All right, look, she is spending some time with Ridge, right now, that doesn't mean she's out to seduce him.
Stephanie: You always think I'm overreacting.
Eric: You know what I think, right now? I think you better finish getting ready.
Stephanie: I am ready. I am ready to go.
Eric: No, you're not. You're not ready. There's something missing.
Stephanie: What?
Eric: These.
Stephanie: They're absolutely gorgeous.
Eric: Nope, you are gorgeous.
Stephanie: They're perfect, thank you. Thank you.
Eric: No, you know what? Thank you.
Stephanie: For what?
Eric: For being my inspiration all these years. You've never let me rest on my laurels. No matter how successful I got, you always challenged me to do better, to reach down deep, to surpass my own expectations. Well, now, I'm going to surpass yours. Very nice.
******************************************************************
Bridget: Hello.
Thorne: Wow, you look gorgeous.
Bridget: Thank you. So do you. The reception is starting soon. Should be exciting.
Thorne: Yeah, I think I'm gonna bail.
Bridget: What? Come on, you have to stick around.
Thorne: I'm just not in the mood for a party.
Bridget: Oh, what's wrong, are you sick?
Thorne: No. I just -- I've been kind of down since we got here.
Bridget: But you were in such a good mood on the plane. What happened?
Thorne: I guess it's being back in Italy. It's brought up a lot of memories for me.
Bridget: Oh, Thorne if you ditch this party, you're going to miss the opportunity to make a lot of new ones. Come on, this is an important night for our family. Dad really wants you to be a part of it.
Thorne: Yeah, you're right, and I don't want to let him down.
Bridget: Okay, so put a smile on that face. The Forrester family is about to make fashion history, baby.
**************************************************************
Darla: Oh, wow. Sal, check this place out. It's absolutely gorgeous!
Sally: So are we, Darla. So are we.
Darla: You got that right, baby. No, but this place is amazing! It's like -- it's like something out of a movie. You know, one of those old spy flicks. Where the secret agent -- he goes to Europe. He sneaks into a fashion show and there -- there he meets a young, vivacious, talented secretary.
Sally: In your dreams, Darla.
Darla: Absolutely! And you know what? You're right, I did dream this. I did. Just like this. It was about two years ago. Well, we weren't doing very well in the company. And the office -- it was completely dead. I mean, it must've been because I fell asleep at my desk. Or maybe I just stayed out too late the night before. You know, I don't know. I have no idea, it was just -- right. Cut to the snapper. All righty, okay. So anyway, I was at this fashion show in my dream. And it was held at this beautiful castle, you know it was up on this cliff. And the walls and the ceilings, they were painted exactly like this. And the people -- the women -- they wore gowns. And the men, they were in tuxedos. The ladies were just beautiful, you know? And the men, Sally -- the men were so hot! I am talking burn the barn down, call the fire department, hose me off hot.
Sally: Darla, is it really necessary for me to hear this entire dream?
Darla: Well, that's just it, honey. I don't think it was a dream. I believe I had a premonition.
Sally: Premonition? You mean like ESP or swami-stuff? Like you knew what was going to happen, right?
Darla: Yeah, exactly. And I dreamt about it. I mean, every detail. Isn't that crazy?
Sally: Hmm.
Darla: Sally, I remember that chandelier. And the tile in here. And I remember seeing the press and the cameras and the Forresters and us. I knew that we were going to be right here one day.
Sally: This is absolutely perfect.
***************************************************************
Ridge: You know, Logan, I -- I was hoping to have a few moments alone with you.
Brooke: Why's that?
Ridge: To thank you for coming here.
Brooke: I wouldn't have missed it for the world.
Ridge: I know you're not just here as CEO of Forrester Creations. Dad could have handled the show just fine. You're here because of me.
Brooke: You don't mind, do you?
Ridge: Mind? Are you kidding? No, I'm thankful. I never would have said it, myself, and I don't want anybody worrying about me. But I could use some support in this, my first venture out in quite awhile -- especially your support. What? What's that look?
Brooke: I was just remembering something. It doesn't matter.
Ridge: Is it a secret?
Brooke: No. Looking out over the sea and being here with you, just reminded me of something, that's all.
Ridge: Lake Como.
Brooke: I was wondering if you'd remember.
[ Ridge remembering ]
I've waited for this day for so long. I really wish I didn't have to tell you this.
Ridge: I almost forgot something. Standing in that upper gardens, looking out over the water.
Brooke: You proposed to me.
Ridge: I did?
Brooke: Yes, you did. Stop teasing me. That was one of the most wonderful moments of my life. When you gave me that ring --
Ridge: I remember.
Brooke: You do?
Ridge: Yes, of course. How could I forget? I remember reaching into my pocket and pul -- what is this? Logan? Would you -- would you like a mint?
[ Brooke laughs ]
Brooke: Now, that's enough joking around, okay? Look, we got a party to go to. Let's go. Crazy guy.
*****************************************************************
Eric: Look at this, very elegant. And more people than I had expected.
Stephanie: Oh, now, you're not having second thoughts?
Eric: No, I'm not. This is every designers dream.
***************************************************************
Sally: Mojo!
Massimo: Sally.
Sally: You made it. I'm so glad.
Massimo: I told you I would be here.
Sally: Oh, but I was afraid maybe my assistant, Darla, may have messed up your reservations as well as mine.
Massimo: No, no, no, no. I'm staying at the Splendido, which is absolutely exquisite.
Sally: They put us up at the Cenobio Dei Dogi. Very, very pleasant. Very accommodating.
Massimo: Ah, Comogli is a lovely little town. I have been there many times.
Ridge: Hey, Mas. You made it.
Massimo: Oh, Ridge, come on. Where else would I be, huh? I know how important this contest is to you. You know what? I can't wait to see you in action.
[ speaking Italian ]
[ applause ]
Mayor: Good evening, on behalf of our citizens, I welcome you to our beautiful city. It is a great honor to host this exciting competition. We are very proud and happy to have you here.
[ Applause ]
Eric: Thank you. Grazie.
Mayor: Prego.
Eric: We are also very pleased and proud to be here. This week, your beautiful city of Portofino, will become the backdrop for a very, very unusual event in the fashion world. This challenge is not just another fashion show. It's not about orders and reviews, it's about pride. This is a duel. This is a fight between -- designer against designer, father against son. This is a fight to the finish -- a battle for the title "the king of Forrester fashion."
Ridge: And to determine the winner of that contest, we've invited some of the most intriguing and discerning figures in Italy to act as judges. Soon to arrive in Portofino -- from the world of publishing, the editor of "Chi" magazine, Signora Silvana Giacobini. And the esteemed journalist, Signore Riccardo Moretti. And that centerpiece of high Society, signora Rebecca Moretti.
[ Applause ]
Mayor: Grazie. And now the rules -- in a few days, you will each show us six designs and one showstopper. They will be judged on their style, beauty and originality. Portofino is your canvas. Please go out there and make us a masterpiece. And may the best designer win!
