Brooke: Thanks for coming by.
Megan: Oh, are you kidding, Brooke? How could I pass up another chance to sit for the most beautiful baby in the entire world?
Brooke: Oh, you're not going to spoil Hope any.
Megan: Where is my little princess-in-training?
Brooke: She's taking a nap.
Megan: Is she adjusting to her new surroundings?
Brooke: Better than I am.
Megan: Oh, right, like you're really the cramped little guesthouse type. Sure.
Brooke: Well, it is nice to be back here with Rick and Amber. But I was just beginning to get a sense of peace. Like I was going in the right direction.
Megan: Well, there's no reason any of that has to change, just 'cause you moved back home. Unless--
Brooke: Unless what?
Megan: Oh, never mind.
Brooke: No. Come on, tell me.
Megan: Okay. If for some reason Taylor --
Brooke: Taylor what? Megan!
Megan: Oh, god, Brooke, I know it's horrible, but come on. Come on, admit it. It hasn't just once crossed your mind that you could possibly get a chance to start over with Ridge? I mean, come on.
Brooke: No! Absolutely not!
************************************************************************************
Steffy: That's scary.
Thomas: Duh. It's Halloween. It's supposed to be scary.
Steffy: Can't we make our next pumpkin look pretty, Aunt Bridget?
Phoebe: Yeah!
Bridget: Sorry, Thomas, you're outvoted.
Thomas: Girls.
Bridget: So what do you think? Do you want to paint this one?
Steffy: No!
Phoebe: No way!
Thomas: Paint it?! We always carve our pumpkins. Mom likes it better that way.
Phoebe: Yeah, 'cause she likes to scoop out the inside and cook the pumpkin seeds.
Steffy: Could you make some for us, Aunt Bridget?
Bridget: I've never done it before, but I guess.
Thomas: We'll show you how.
Phoebe: Mom taught us.
Thomas: See, first you have to take out all the seeds from the guck. Like this.
Phoebe: It's a lot of fun.
Bridget: Oh, yeah -- looks like a blast.
Thomas: Go on. It's no big deal.
Bridget: Okay. So, your mom would do this for you every Halloween?
Thomas yeah. She thinks it's cool.
Bridget: You guys have no idea how lucky you are. Eww. This is so gross. Eww.
****************************************************************************************
Stephanie: How is she? Ridge?
Ridge: Peaceful.
Eric: We don't want to disturb her. We'll come back when she's awake.
Stephanie: They've taken her off the monitors? Whose idea was that, honey?
Ridge: Taylor's.
Eric: Taylor's?
Stephanie: The doctors went along with that?
Ridge: They knew there wasn't anything more they could do.
Stephanie: Nothing more they could do? Oh, my god, Taylor. Oh.
Ridge: She's gone, Mother. She's gone.
*******************************************************************************************
Brooke: You can't seriously mean that!
Megan: Brooke, I would never have this conversation with anybody but you. And I'm not saying that you're sitting around daydreaming about Ridge -- I'm not.
Brooke: Well, I hope not.
Megan: I know you're not. I just think, gosh, it would only be natural for someone -- considering her condition, to ponder the future.
Brooke: The only future that I'm thinking about is that Taylor would get out of the hospital and go home to her husband and to her children.
Megan: I understand why you feel that way.
Brooke: I've really come to admire Taylor. She stood behind amber when nobody else would. Then she is a wonderful mother. Her children always come first. Now that is a lesson that took me many years to learn.
Megan: She's an exceptional woman -- she really is. Oh, gosh, Brooke, all I'm saying is that it doesn't mean that she's the perfect one for Ridge.
Brooke: Oh, and I am?
Megan: Well, you were convinced of that once.
Brooke: Megan, I've grown up since then.
Megan: Well, then you would know, I mean, you can fall in love as many times as you want, but you only get one soul mate --
Brooke: What difference does it make if Ridge and I are soul mates?
Megan: Well, it makes a huge difference. Just think about, you know, all the lives that are turned upside down when two people who are supposed to be together are kept apart.
Brooke: Now you're just being romantic.
Megan: No, it's not just that. Brooke, look, you know as well as I do if you and Ridge had just figured things out years ago, it would have saved a lot of people a lot of grief -- including you.
Brooke: Oh, my god, Megan. Stop. I refuse to have this conversation. Now things happened, and worked out the way they did because that was meant to be. But the only thing that I am focusing on right now is Taylor. And saying a prayer so that she gets out of the hospital and goes home to her family.
************************************************************************************
Stephanie: It can't be too late. Let's get the doctors. They can resuscitate her.
Ridge: No, Mother! Just stop it!
Stephanie: What do you mean? They can start her heart again!
Ridge: Why? So it could just give out all over again?
Eric: Ridge, you don't know that's gonna happen.
Stephanie: This is just ridiculous. We can't stand here. Get a doctor. Call, go.
Eric: I'll get a doctor right now.
Ridge: Stop it, Dad! Just leave her alone. She's accepted it. There wasn't any pain. She had no fear. Leave her alone.
Stephanie: Am I just supposed to just let you slip away? Taylor, you're not finished here. What about the children? They're still babies. Are you gonna leave Ridge? Are you gonna leave me? Oh, god, life can't just be this cruel. It can't be. I know, you -- you'd say to me, there's some grand lesson in this. But let me tell you, there isn't! This isn't fair. This just isn't fair. I promised you that I would make sure every dream you had for your family came true. I'll keep that promise, honey. I'll never understand why you're leaving us -- I won't. I just won't.
[ Stephanie sobbing ] I'll miss you so much. Good-bye, sweetheart.
******************************************************************************************
Bridget: So do you guys know what you want to be for Halloween?
Thomas: We're not going trick-or-treating this year.
Bridget: Well, why not, honey?
Thomas: Steffy's too afraid to go without stinky.
Bridget: Stinky, your blanket? What happened to it?
Thomas: She gave it to mom.
Steffy: So she'd get better.
Bridget: Well, I'm sure your mom wouldn't mind giving you stinky back for Halloween.
Steffy: Do you think she'll be home by then?
Bridget: Maybe. I know she's going to try really hard.
Steffy: Promise?
Bridget: Yeah, that's a promise, honey. To the nurse. She's paging dr. Cooper and Dr. Maclaine.
**********************************************************************************
Eric: Oh. I brought her a gift.
Stephanie: I know.
Eric: I was thinking about those hospital gowns and how uncomfortable they are -- not to mention unflattering -- and I made something. I don't want her to look like or feel like all the other patients in this hospital. This silk is from Thailand. It's the finest silk in the world. I'd been waiting for the inspiration to use it. And then I thought of your voice -- when you talk to Thomas and to the twins -- how embracing and how warm. And the color -- the color is so beautiful. And yet it only strives to be as beautiful as your eyes. Those eyes, so full of compassion. This -- this fabric is almost worthy of you. I will never forget when I first saw you walk into a room, I thought, "how beautiful. So much of a lady. Oh, god --
Stephanie: It's all right, honey. She knows you loved her.
Eric: Dr. Maclaine --
Ddr. Maclaine: Mr. And Mrs. Forrester -- Ridge -- I am so sorry.
Stephanie: Thank you for everything you did.
Dr. Maclaine: We did all we could.
Stephanie: I know.
Nurse: Oh, sorry, Dr. Maclaine. We didn't --
Ridge: Who are they?
Nurse: We can come back later.
Dr. Maclaine: Why don't you do that.
Ridge: Come back for what? What the hell is this? No, no, you just stay away from her. You're not touching her. Do you understand me?!
Dr. Maclaine: Of course. Of course, we'll give you all the time that you need –
***************************************************************************************
Megan: Brooke, I hope to god Taylor will be all right. I just think we should all be prepared.
Brooke: You know something, don't you?
Megan: Look, I wasn't going to say anything because it's just a rumor, but you know my friend in the hospital -- the nurse's aide? --
Brooke: Yeah?
Megan: She said Taylor's condition has been downgraded. And she seemed pretty worried.
Brooke: No! No, I don't believe it. Taylor's going to be just fine. And she and ridge are going to pick up where they left off. They're going to have a wonderful future together -- one that they deserve. Now, i refuse to believe anything else!
Bridget: Okay, everyone, roasted pumpkin seeds. Hot out of the oven!
Phoebe: All right.
Steffy: Yes!
Thomas: Um, Aunt Bridget?
Bridget: Yeah?
Thomas: You forgot the garlic.
Bridget: Garlic?
Phoebe: It's mom's secret ingredient.
Bridget: Well, if it's a secret, how would I know to use it, silly?
Thomas: No offense, but you've got a lot to learn about Halloween.
Bridget: Yeah, I guess I have some pretty big shoes to fill, huh? Your mom really knows her stuff.
Phoebe: Wait'll you see what she does for Christmas.
Steffy: Yeah, she said this year we could bake our own gingerbread house.
Bridget: Awesome.
Steffy: Yeah, I wish she'd come home.
Bridget: Do you miss her?
Steffy: Why do people have to get hurt?
Bridget: I don't know, honey. I think sometimes it helps us appreciate them more.
Thomas: But we already appreciate mom.
Phoebe: Maybe we'd better tell that to god in our prayers tonight.
Bridget: I think that's a really good idea. Hey, okay, who wants to find out where mom hid the Halloween candy?
Kids: I do! I do!
Bridget: All right, everyone to the kitchen. Come on. Run, run, run.
******************************************************************************************
Ridge: What the hell do those people think they're doing? Trying to take you away. Like you're nothing. You're my wife. You're my wife, and no one's going to take you away from me. We need you. The kids need you. We need you more than god possibly could. What kind of god are you? You can't have her! We need her here, and we're not gonna let you have her. Our kids need you. I need you. Please, don't leave me. Please, don't leave me, Taylor. I'm not gonna let you go. Come back to me. Sweetheart, please come back to me.
[ Ridge sobbing ]
