Sheila: Honey? Why don't you come out. Let me see you. Look at you, you're gorgeous! Come on, turn around. How do you feel?
Erica: I -- this isn't me.
Sheila: You know what? If you want him to treat you like the babysitter, then you dress like the babysitter. If you want him to treat you like a woman --
Erica: I got it, mom.
Sheila: Yeah, but you don't have him. Not yet, but you will.
Erica: Yeah, if I can snag him before he finds out I'm your daughter.
Sheila: You know what, there's no way that he's going to abandon the mother of his child, no matter who you're related to. I mean, once you make that -- that bond, it can't be broken.
Erica: Mom, okay, I have it. I don't need a pep talk.
Sheila: You know what, Erica? I think you do. You see, you can't just put on a new dress and throw on some makeup and think that Rick is gonna fall in love with you. He's a sophisticated man. You've got to seduce his mind. Show him your intelligence, your ambition, your talents.
Erica: Like Amber did?
Sheila: No. No, because you're nothing like Amber. You're a lady. And his family loves you. And if you do what I say, it won't be long before he loves you, too.
****************************************************************************************
Rick: No. No, no, no. It's got to be hipper.
Thorne: Well, there's more tapes. We've got a few more here.
Kristen: Hey, you guys, maybe we should think about soft-pedaling this project, just until we know what's going on with Amber.
Rick: No. We are not putting a hold on this collection. Are these all the tapes we have?
Thorne: Rick, I've been listening to these demos for weeks, all right? This is as good as it gets.
Rick: No, I'm not saying that they're not good. All these people can sing. But this is Ambrosia's calling card. It's really gotta grab you.
Thorne: I'll tell you what -- we don't have time for another round of auditions here. We're behind schedule as it is.
Kristen: Thorne's right. If we are gonna move forward with this project, we can't lose this momentum.
Rick: Okay. All right. You said we've got a few more tapes. Let's just -- let's just hope that our voice is in there.
Kristen: Alright. Yeah come on listen up get down with ambrosia let me show you the way steppin' out in style dig what I say

[ knock on door ]
Bridget: Hold on. I'm coming.
Stephanie: Am I interrupting a party?
Bridget: Party? Oh, the music. Yeah, it helps me think.
Stephanie: I thought you didn't start school until next week.
Bridget: Well, I have an orientation seminar tonight.
Stephanie: Don't they do that just freshman year?
Bridget: This is for the accelerated premed program.
Stephanie: Did you get in?
Bridget: Yes, I did.
Stephanie: Oh, Bridget! Congratulations! Oh, honey, this is just wonderful!
Bridget: Thank you.
Stephanie: Your father told me you had applied. But he said that you were so worried because it was so competitive.
Bridget: I know. I didn't even think I stood a chance. I mean, especially after taking a semester off. But I guess I did better in the interviews than I thought.
Stephanie: Now, why didn't Eric tell me about this?
Bridget: He doesn't know. After everything that's been going on with me and mom and Rick and Amber. I just didn't want to make a big deal about it.
Stephanie: But it is a big deal! I mean, it's huge. Now don't you want your family to share this? Or don't you want your family to share this?
************************************************************************************
Sheila: Erica, I know this has been a difficult decision for you.
Erica: I don't want to talk about it.
Sheila: Honey, I just want to make sure we're on the same page.
Erica: You mean the "how to win friends and influence people by getting pregnant" page?
Sheila: Don't be like that. Honey, I'm only thinking of your future.
Erica: So what, mom? What? I should be excited?
Sheila: Aren't you? Look, you might still be angry at me. But please tell me, don't you feel a little different?
Erica: I certainly look different.
Sheila: Well, it's gonna take a lot more than looks. Because you're gonna have to set yourself apart from the crowd. Rick is surrounded by beautiful women all day long, Erica. You need to show him that you're valuable, that you're needed -- not only for him and little Eric, for the whole family.
Erica: You mean like Amber did with her designs.
Sheila: Yes, yes. Exactly. Now, it's nothing that you have to come up with right now, but --
Erica: Tell me, do you still have that tape recorder I was messing around with?
Sheila: It's around here somewhere. Why? What are you thinking?
*********************************************************************************************
Bridget: Of course, I want to share this with the family. I just -- I don't think right now is exactly the time to be -- you know, blowing my own horn.
Stephanie: But you've worked very hard to get into this program, and I think your family could use the good news.
Bridget: I am pretty excited about it. I mean, I know I'm still just an undergrad, but this program is my first real step toward becoming a doctor.
Stephanie: Yes, it is. And it's wonderful.
Bridget: A few months ago, I felt like my whole life was falling apart at the seams. But now, I think it's safe to say getting rid of Deacon is probably the best thing that ever happened to me.
Stephanie: Yes. I just wish it had ended differently.
Bridget: Me, too. I can't get all caught up in what might have been. I have to focus on the future now.
Stephanie: Yes, you do. And you have a wonderful one facing you.
Bridget: Yeah, I think you might be right.
Stephanie: Would be all right if I told your mother about this? Of course, you know what would be even better -- if you told her yourself.

Ambrosia Ambrosia Ambrosia whoo
Thorne: What do you think?
Rick: I'm not blown away.
Kristen: Well, that was the last one in this group.
Rick: I was afraid you were going to say that.
Kristen: You don't like it. We'll just have to keep looking.
Rick: Well, I gotta be honest, it didn't make me want to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe.
Thorne: Let's run it by Brooke, get a fresh ear.
Rick: No. This is our project. We're not taking it to mom until we find a singer.
Kristen: Well, it is Amber's collection. Maybe we should have her listen to it.
Rick: She's got other things on her mind right now.
Thorne: So do you.
Rick: I'm fine.
Kristen: Rick, if you want Thorne and me to handle this --
Rick: Look, I'm sure you guys could. All right? But you know what? I gotta work right now. I can't get too distracted.
Thorne: You know what, let's just listen to it again, okay?
Rick: No. No. It's too alternative, okay? The Ambrosia line is more accessible, it's more pop. I haven't heard that yet.
Thorne: You know what, I might actually have something like that.
Rick: Really?
Thorne: Yeah. I left it in Kristen's office. You want to hear it?
Rick: You bet I do. Do you have a tape deck in your office?
Kristen: Yes.
Rick: All right. Let's go.
Kristen: All right.
Erica: Oh, good. Good. They haven't picked a singer yet. Means I still have a chance.
Thorne: Dude, you didn't even listen to the whole thing.
Kristen: You said you wanted pop.
Rick: I know, but I didn't say elevator music. Hi.
Erica: Uh -- hi, Rick.
Rick: Is -- is something wrong?
Erica: No. No, I was just, you know, in the neighborhood. And I thought maybe I could take you and Eric out for a burger or something.
Rick: Actually, we just -- we just had lunch at day care.
Erica: Oh. That's too bad.
Rick: Well, you know what? We're almost finished here. So why don't you stick around.
Kristen: Hey, Rick, there's a tape on the floor. Did we listen to this one?
****************************************************************************************
Bridget: I know you'd like to see me and mom getting along again.
Stephanie: Wouldn't you?
Bridget: Well, we're making progress. You're a good influence on her.
Stephanie: So are you.
Bridget: Yeah, I know she's trying. I don't know, I just -- I don't know if I'm ready to jump back into all that. It's just -- for so long, I wanted to believe I had a normal family. I mean, I told myself that it just looked strange to everyone else -- mom's behavior. Her marriages to Ridge and Thorne. And now I look back, I think -- I think I always knew. That's why I was so protective of her, why I was always trying to cheer her up or calm her down. I just so badly wanted her to be like other moms.
Stephanie: I think it's safe to say she never was.
Bridget: Yeah. Well, maybe she'll do better with Hope.
Stephanie: She could do better with you.
Bridget: I think it's a little bit late for that.
[ Knock on door ] come in.
C.J.: Is there a future doctor in the house?
Bridget: Hey, C.J..
C.J.: Hi, Stephanie.
Stephanie: Hello, C.J..
Bridget: What's that? What's that?
C.J.: This is just a little something to get your medical career started off on the right foot.
Bridget: Oh, that's so sweet.
C.J.: It gets better. Open it.
Bridget: Ah! A stethoscope.
C.J.: It's the must-have accessory for the semester.
Bridget: And this?
C.J.: Oh, that's to fend off all the slackers who might want to steal your notes.
Bridget: Oh, right, right.
C.J.: And last but not least -- for those late night cram sessions. You just bring that downstairs, and I'll hook you up with an espresso drip.
[ Bridget laughs ]
Bridget: Thanks, C.J..
C.J.: You're welcome. Well, I guess, I'd better get going. I gotta start getting ready for tonight. That is, unless, Stephanie's gonna take my place.
Stephanie: Take your place? Tonight?
C.J.: The orientation ceremony. Bridget asked me to go with her.
**********************************************************************************************
Sheila: You can have him if you want him, Erica. But you're gonna have to move fast.
Thorne: I thought we listened to all the tapes.
Rick: Well, check the list.
Kristen: There's no name on it.
Rick: Huh? Maybe the label fell off.
Erica: You know, you guys are busy. I should go.
Rick: No, no. Stay. Thorne was just saying that we need a fresh ear. And maybe you can help us out.
Kristen: Yeah, we're trying to pick a new vocalist for the jingle.
Thorne: And you are our target demographic.
Rick: Why don't you go ahead and put the tape in. Let us know what you think.
***************************************************************************************
Stephanie: I thought you said this was a seminar.
Bridget: It's the accelerated premed orientation.
Stephanie: So is it a ceremony or isn't it?
Bridget: Kinda sorta.
Stephanie: Mm-hmm.
Bridget: Most of the kids will probably bring their parents.
Stephanie: No one even knows that you've been accepted.
Bridget: Well, I know. I just didn't want to make a big deal about it. I mean, obviously, I don't feel right asking mom. And if I ask dad, it's just gonna hurt her feelings.
Stephanie: I'll go. I mean, I'd love to if you want me to.
Bridget: No, thank you. That's really nice of you to offer, but i don't want to complicate things. I'm just gonna take C.J.
C.J. Look, I've got a million things to do before tonight, so I better hit it.
Bridget: Okay. All right. Thanks for the bag.
C.J.: You're welcome.
Bridget: I'll see you later.
C.J.: Yeah.
Bridget: Stephanie.
Good-bye.
Stephanie: Bridget. I think this is a big honor. And I think someone from your family should be there.
Bridget: It's okay, Stephanie. I think it's probably best if i do this on my own. I mean, obviously, I'd love to have my parents there. But that's just not the way my family works. It never has been.
Stephanie: It is upsetting, isn't it?
Bridget: Yeah. It was more upsetting when i was a kid. I guess this sounds kind of stupid. Because they've been divorced my whole life, right?
Stephanie: No, I just think it's just human nature. Kids want to see their parents together. No matter how old they are.

Ambrosia smile light up the world ambrosia style
Rick: Who was that?
Thorne: I don't know. I guess I dropped the tape.
Rick: I like it. I like it. This girl can definitely rock.
Kristen: She does have a good voice.
Rick: Oh, no, no -- it's more than her voice. She's got this -- this energy. And you can feel it. It's like she really is a little bit wild.
Thorne: So you like it, really?
Rick: I love it!
Kristen: So do I.
Thorne: I'll tell you what, Rick, this is really catchy.
Rick: Oh, yeah. Yeah, this is definitely it. This is our jingle, no doubt.
Erica: So you want the girl on the tape?
Rick: Oh, I want to sign her right away. Do you guys know who she is?
Kristen: I don't know. There's no label on it.
Rick: Are you sure?
Erica: It's me.
Thorne: What? Did we skip a name on the list?
Erica: You guys, it's my tape.
Thorne: What?
Rick: That's you?
Erica: Yeah. I borrowed a copy of the jingle ideas that you guys had a few weeks ago. And, you know, I was just kind of messing around with it. And I bought some studio software and hooked it up to my computer. I hope you don't mind.
Rick: Erica! You are amazing! This is exactly what i have been looking for. You are the voice of the Ambrosia collection.
Erica: Are you serious?
Thorne: Serious? We have attorneys standing by with contracts.
Kristen: And we've already booked the studio time.
Rick: All you have to do is say "yes."
Erica: Yes! Yes! Great!
Kristen: Congratulations, Erica.
Erica: Thank you.
Rick: All right, you guys, don't move, okay! I have to take this downstairs so marketing can hear it.
Kristen: And dad is in the cutting room. And I'll go get him.
Rick: Good. He has got to hear this.
Thorne: I'll get the papers.
Rick: Oh, Erica. Erica, you are amazing. This is so great! I'm gonna call Marta and I'm gonna tell her to watch Eric tonight, because you and I are gonna celebrate.

[ Phone rings ]
Sheila: Hello?
Erica: Mom! I did it! I got the spot. They picked my tape!
Sheila: For the jingle?
Erica: Yeah. Rick went crazy the minute he heard it. I was standing right there! I thought I was going to faint.
Sheila: Oh, honey, is he there right now?
Erica: No. No, no, no. He went to go get Brooke and Eric to play it for them.
Sheila: I am -- I am so proud of you!
Erica: I know. I can't believe it. I mean -- I'm going to be the voice for the Ambrosia line.
Sheila: Well, you see! You see what I -- what I told you? You and Rick -- you make a great team.
Erica: Oh, Mom, you were right. He even said I was amazing.
Sheila: Oh, you are, baby. You are.
Erica: God, I can't believe I was gonna try and leave town!
Sheila: Well, just don't forget why you stayed. If you want a future with Rick, you can't rest on your laurels. You've got to keep after him.
Erica: He told me he wants to celebrate tonight.
Sheila: Perfect. This is it, sweetheart. This is your chance. You just do what I told you, and I guarantee tonight will be a night to remember.
