Whip: Thank you. Well, isn't this cheery? Any reason you chose this particular room?
Brooke: No.
Whip: How about this particular spa -- at Ojai?
Brooke: I've been here before. It's really quite lovely, don't you think?
Whip: Oh, yes. It's fabulous. You've got everything you could possibly want for the dream honeymoon. Yeah, you got your Jacuzzi, and the monster bed. One thing missing, though. Yeah, Deacon.
Brooke: Oh, don't start --
Whip: But he came along with us, though, didn't he?
Brooke: Whatever that means.
Whip: Well, let's see -- he drove up with us in the car, and he's with us right here in this very room. Right now. And you can't see him, but you can certainly feel him. You know, if I were a betting man, I would guess that the two of you made love right here in this very room the last time you were here.
Brooke: No. We didn't.
Whip: Well, then I guess there's still hope for the two of us tonight.

Erica: I had fun playing with you today.
Rick: Well, thank you for watching him, Erica.
Erica: So how was the wedding?
Rick: Pretty good. How was little Eric?
Erica: Pretty good.
Rick: Well, he really seems to like you.
Erica: Yeah, well, you guys did a terrific job on him. He's a good kid.
Rick: Okay, well, I'm going to go upstairs and get this guy to bed, okay? I'll be right back.
Erica: All right. That's a beautiful dress, amber.
Amber: Yeah, it's okay.
Erica: Did you have a good time?
Amber: When Brooke gets married, it's rarely a good time. It's just one of those things that happens every now and then, you know. Like an earthquake. You know where the door is. I'm taking a bath.
************************************************************************************
Ziggy: Get back from that wedding, baby-sitting thing.
[ Knock on door ] Erica? It's me, Ziggy. Open says me. Erica? You in here?
**********************************************************************************
Bridget: Thanks for the ride home, Stephanie.
Stephanie: Oh, it's no problem.
Bridget: Good thing I snagged you. I might still be there.
Stephanie: I think somebody would have given you a ride.
Bridget: Yeah, maybe even my husband, huh?
Stephanie: Don't -- don't be too upset with Deacon.
Bridget: Stephanie, he left me stranded at the wedding.
Stephanie: Well, maybe he had something to do at the office.
Bridget: I don't know, Stephanie. Something weird is going on.
Stephanie: What do you mean?
Bridget: I mean with mom and Deacon.
*****************************************************************************************
[ Brooke sighs ]
Brooke: Whip, for god's sake! I'm in the third trimester of my pregnancy. You'll have to forgive me if sex isn't at the top of my list.
Whip: I bet it'd be at the top of my list if my name was deacon Sharpe.
[ Brooke sighs ] come on. You think I didn't see you staring at him during the wedding?
Brooke: I wasn't staring.
Whip: Please, Brooke -- you know what? If I were a violent man right about now, I'd start throwing lamps. You didn't say those vows to me. You said them to Deacon, all right? He was standing right behind me and you were staring directly at him.
Brooke: Well, now you're being paranoid.
Whip: You know what? Do me a favor and don't lie to me on our wedding night. Okay? At least wait until we're married a couple of days.
Brooke: You knew how I felt going into this. This whole marriage thing was your idea, not mine.
Whip: Yes, yes. And you went along with it for Bridget's sake. Bravo for you. First smart thing you've done since you got pregnant.
Brooke: Well, that doesn't mean I'm going to just jump into bed with you.
Whip: Okay. I'll tell you what. I'm going to go home now. I'm just going to go to work tomorrow. I'm going to tell Rick and Bridget that it just didn't work out, that you didn't really want me. And we just got married so that they would know that this child inside of you is mine when it really isn't.
Brooke: That's not funny.
Whip: Who's being funny? Come on. Why should I stay, huh? Give me one good reason. You won't let me touch you. You're in love with Deacon. I mean, what the hell do I get out of this, Brooke, huh? Why should I help you? You think I'm in this for the money? I don't give a damn about the money. I care about you, Brooke.
Brooke: I know, and that's why you're helping me.
Whip: No, that's not fair. That -- that's really, really not fair.
Brooke: What?
Whip: Don't do that to me, Brooke. Don't play me like some kind of star-crossed lover.
Brooke: I'm not. I'm not.
Whip: Yes, yes, you are. Because it's worked on every other sap who has -- who has fallen on that sweet scent of yours. Don't do that to me, baby doll. I'll unpack, I'll take a cold shower, and I'm going to wait until you come around.
Brooke: Thank you.
Whip: What's this?
Brooke: I don't know. Let me see. Oh, it's from Bridget.
Whip: What is it? I really think you should do your daughter the honor of putting this on. Right now.
********************************************************************************************************
Bridget: I mean, didn't you notice it? The way they were acting at the wedding? Mom was like a zombie. And Deacon --
Stephanie: Well, I think it's safe to say everyone was a little strange.
Bridget: Why couldn't everyone just come together?
Stephanie: Well, I think part of the problem is it happened so quickly. And the other part -- the family doesn't really know Whip that well.
Bridget: So what? It was her choice and she should have been supported.
Stephanie: I agree.
Bridget: Yeah, you do. You've been totally in favor of this.
Stephanie: Well, I think we've had enough scandal, haven't we? I mean, it's over. They're married. They're going to work it through together. And they're going to be happy.
Bridget: I just can't shake this feeling. Like there's something going on that I don't know about.
******************************************************************************************
Ziggy: Erica? Look, whoever you are, I know you're in here.
******************************************************************************************
Rick: Hey, Erica? Where's Amber?
Erica: She, uh, went upstairs to take a bath.
Rick: What's wrong?
Erica: Nothing, Rick.
Rick: No, really, you look upset.
Erica: Is Amber mad at me?
Rick: No. Why?
Erica: Maybe I said something wrong.
Rick: What happened?
Erica: She just seemed -- I don't know.
Rick: Rude.
Erica: Look, I know she has a lot on her mind.
Rick: I know what's wrong with her.
Erica: It's a terrible thing to lose a baby.
Rick: Yeah, but you still have to pick up your life and move on.
Erica: Yeah, but still --
Rick: I know, I know. She's dealing with a lot of grief right now, and she's in a lot of pain because of the surgery.
Erica: But she sees a doctor?
Rick: Well, she's taking medication.
Erica: She'll get better, Rick. She's young, and she has so much to live for.
Rick: It seems that way, doesn't it?
Erica: Are you kidding me? She has a wonderful little boy, a great career, and she has you. What more could a woman ask for?
Rick: You seem very sensitive.
Erica: Amber is an amazing woman. She came from nowhere, and look where she's at now. Kind of like me. I mean, not that I've made it or anything, yet.
Rick: I'm sure Amber had a very different upbringing than you.
Erica: Why do you say that?
Rick: She has a really weird relationship with her mother.
[ Erica laughs ] what?
Erica: Nothing. It couldn't have been weirder than mine.
Rick: What are you talking about?
Erica: You don't want to know.
Rick: Really?
Erica: I don't seem all that scarred to you?
Rick: No, just the opposite, in fact. You seem pretty normal.
Erica: Yeah, well, uh, I could tell you some stories. But I won't, because that's a part of my life I don't even want to think about. I'd better go.
Rick: No, wait. I want to ask you something.
Erica: Yeah, sure.
Rick: Well, you -- you seem to be really good with Eric. I was just wondering if you'd be interested in a full-time job?
Erica: Watching him?
Rick: Yeah, but only if you're interested.
Erica: Yes. Yes, definitely.
Rick: Great, great. Then you're hired.
Erica: Okay. Thank you.
Rick: Yeah.
Erica: Look, Rick, don't worry about Amber. I'm sure she'll be feeling better in no time.
Rick: Yeah, let's hope so. Well, you be safe driving home.
Erica: All right. Bye.
Erica: Did I leave the door open? No. No, I wouldn't have. But I was so excited about the wedding. Wait. I would not have left my apartment -- would I? Maybe I should call Ziggy. Don't be ridiculous. You just spaced, and you left your door open.
[ Erica gasps ] Oh, my god. Ziggy? Ziggy, is that you?
*************************************************************************************
Brooke: I'm sorry, Whip. You are going to have to take that cold shower. And when you come out, I will be in bed asleep.
Whip: And I'm on the couch?
Brooke: I'll be on the couch.
Whip: Brooke, why can't we share a bed? Come on. I'm not going to touch you.
Brooke: Right.
Whip: I want you to think about something for just a minute, all right? There is a chance that this can work. I mean, a very slight chance from your point of view, but a chance nonetheless. Would it be so bad, having a man that absolutely adores you, makes you laugh, brings a smile to your heart? A gifted man? But you got to meet me halfway, baby -- or at least 10%. I can't be the man that I want to be for you if you don't let me. God, I love you, Brooke. What can I say?
**********************************************************************
[ Phone rings ]
Brooke: Hello?
Bridget: Hey, Mom. It's me.
Brooke: Oh. Hi, sweetheart. Is everything okay?
Bridget: Yeah. I just -- oh, my god. What am I doing? This is your honeymoon. I'm sorry.
Brooke: It's all right.
Bridget: I guess that's just what I wanted to know, mom -- that everything is all right.
Brooke: Oh, sweetheart.
Bridget: I just worry so much about you.
Brooke: Well, don't, okay? Don't worry.
Bridget: Mom, are you sure you're doing what you want to do?
Brooke: What do you mean?
Bridget: I mean this marriage. I just don't know if --
Brooke: Bridget, yes. I am definitely doing what I want to do, okay?
Bridget: Are you in love with him, Mom? Because if I thought you were marrying a man you didn't love, I just --
Brooke: Honey, you've got to listen to me, and you have to believe that what I am saying is true. I married whip out of love -- for you and for your brother and for this baby. I wouldn't have it any other way.
Bridget: I love you, Mom, more than I'll ever be able to show.
Brooke: I know, and that's the reason for everything that I do -- just to hear you say those words. You'll never know what that means to me. You'll never know.
Bridget: Good night, Mom.
Brooke: Good night, sweetheart.
[ Brooke sobs ]
