Erica: She's going to come after me. She's going to come to L.A.
Zende: There you are.
Kristen: Erica, is everything all right?
Erica: Uh, yeah. It's -- it's nothing to worry about. I'm going to go get some punch. Um, does anyone want anything?
Tony: No, thanks.
Zende: I'll go with you.
***********************************************************
Massimo: What is this? These expenditures are enormous.
Sally: Well, that is because our prince, Ridge Forrester, is determined to pull out all the stops.
Massimo: Obviously.
Sally: I told him there were ways we could economize and do it a lot cheaper, but he won't hear of it. Ridge wants to beat Forrester Creations, knock them off their number one spot in haute couture.
Massimo: But -- isn't it that new Ambrosia line that's causing the stir?
Sally: Yes. But in Ridge's world, class always wins out over flash, no matter how good Amber's designs are.
Massimo: Hmm. Are they that good?
Sally: Actually, they are. They are innovative and exciting. The girl has a lot of talent and a lot of guts. I don't think anybody should underestimate her. If she can stand the pressure, she's going to be pretty hard to beat.
**************************************************************************
Amber: My babies. My precious little angels. They were depending on me. And I let them down. It's my fault. It's my fault.
[ Amber sobs ]
*******************************************************
Whip: Oh, you again. When are you going to take the hint and leave us alone?
Deacon: Now, the funny thing is, you've got this all backwards, Whipple. You see, you're the one who's intruding here. You're the one who got involved in a situation that doesn't even concern you. It's a funny thing about it, though -- it might come to bite you in the ass, because you marry Brooke, guess who comes with the package?
[ Whip laughs ]
Whip: Wow. What a hideous thought, Deacon. No, you see, I think you're the one who's mixed up here. I'm not the one who's chasing his mother-in-law around her engagement party like some sex-starved tomcat.
Deacon: Well, if you'd like to talk about --
Brooke: Stop it, both of you! We're not going to discuss this right now. Bridget could walk up and hear everything that you're saying.
Deacon: When are you going to get this straight? Hey, she is going to find out. There is nothing we can do about it.
Brooke: Deacon, she's not going to find out -- not now, not ever.
Whip: Well, that was a nice move. Listen, since you're so interested in letting everybody know, why don't you just get up and make a toast? "Hey, everybody, guess what? I'm schtupping the bride to be."
Deacon: You think this is funny, whip? Huh? You think this is a -- this is a big joke?
Whip: No, I think you're a joke, Deacon.
Deacon: Oh, yeah?
Whip: You've been begging her for days to call this wedding off. How many different ways can she say no? Face it, deacon. She's made her decision, and she chose me.
Deacon: Listen, you are such an arrogant, little son of a bitch.
[ Whip laughs ]
Kristen: Hi, guys.
Whip: Oh, god. Can you believe this guy? Deacon, your support really means the world to me. Thanks.
Kristen: Oh, I'm so glad to see you guys are finally getting along.
Whip: Oh, of course, you know? Got to leave it all in the past. Right, Deacon? I mean, what's done is done. Can't change it. Yeah, it's just best to let it go and move on.
******************************************************************
Massimo: Ridge is not going to let this go, Sally. He is determined to see that Forrester is defeated.
Sally: I know. So am I. But it's going to take a lot more effort to pull it off than Ridge thinks.
Darla: Massimo, your coffee -- big, dark and very strong.
Massimo: Thank you, Darla.
Darla: Thank you.
[ Darla laughs ]
Sally: Uh, Darla? If you can spare a few drops, I could use a cup myself.
Darla: Oh, sure.
[ Darla sighs ] here you go. The sugar's right over there.
Sally: Thank you.
[ Massimo laughs ]
Massimo: Oh, enough. Where were we? Uh -- ridge is a legend in this business, Sally, hmm? No one has more talent. No one is more driven. I guarantee you, he launches his plan, Brooke and all her children are not going to know what hit them.
********************************************************************
Taylor: Let's go over here and sit down. Come on.
Eric: I'm going to get another one of these little --
Thorne: Yeah, do you want anything?
Stephanie: No, thank you.
Thorne: Are you sure?
Stephanie: Yes.
Thorne: Okay.
***********************************************************************
Joy: That's not the way I looked the day before my wedding.
Stephanie: Oh, you weren't six months pregnant?
Joy: That, and she doesn't seem to be very excited.
Stephanie: Oh, I think it's just nerves. She'll come -- she'll come around.
Joy: You're not concerned?
Stephanie: I think that your son is a fine young man, and I believe that Brooke would be very foolish to let him get away.
Joy: She's not doubting her decision, is she?
Stephanie: I certainly can understand your concern, Mrs.. Jones. She doesn't have a great track record at marriage, does she? But this marriage is different.
Joy: So you support this relationship?
Stephanie: I think that Whip is the best thing that could have happened to Brooke and her family, especially Bridget.
Joy: He's very fond of her.
Stephanie: I'm happy to hear that. She's a wonderful girl. She wants her mother to be happy, and this wedding means everything to her. She seems to think of it as a new beginning for all of us. And if you don't mind my saying, I think we have your son to thank for that. Now, don't fret. This is going to happen, and it's going to last.
******************************************************************************************
Erica: Let's go get you some punch.
Ridge: Hey, kiddo.
Bridget: Hi. Hey, I heard about the new job. Congratulations.
Ridge: Thanks. It's working out real well.
Bridget: Good.
Ridge: How are you doing?
Bridget: I'm okay. I'm a little worried about mom. Have you talked to her tonight?
Ridge: I haven't hardly seen her around this place.
Bridget: See, that's what I'm talking about. This is her engagement party. I mean, she should be on top of the world, but she just doesn't seem into it.
Ridge: How about old Whip?
Bridget: He's having a great time. Ridge, I don't get it. I mean, they say they're in love and everything's fine, but I just think there's more to it.
Ridge: That's kind of strange. That's the exact same thing Taylor just said to me.
*******************************************************************************************
Rick: You know, it's not anything I can put my finger on, but amber just hasn't been herself lately, you know?
Taylor: Do you think she's getting depressed?
[ Rick sighs ]
Rick: She could be. I mean, she's not crying all the time, but she's definitely feeling pretty down.
Amber: Rick! Rick!
[ Amber laughs ] where's my handsome husband?
[ Amber laughs ]
little Eric: Mom.
Amber: Oh!
[ Amber laughs ] where's your daddy? Where's your daddy?
Taylor: I thought you said she was feeling a little down.
Rick: She was.
[ Amber laughing ]
Amber: Oh, there you are! You were hiding from me.
Rick: Amber, what are you doing?
Amber: Whoo! I am having fun! We're at a party! Come on. Dance with me. Dance with me.
Rick: I think you need to sit down.
Amber: Oh, come on! Please dance with me.
[ Amber laughs ]
Rick: Amber, stop it! Stop it!
Amber: Aw!
Stephanie: Amber, Amber, why don't you lay down, honey? Why don't you lay down? You're not feeling too well.
Amber: No, I feel great! Whoo!
Rick: You're drunk.
Amber: I had one silly --
[ Amber laughs ] silly.
[ Amber laughs ] don't be a party pooper. Hey, you.
[ Amber laughs ]
Rick: No, you know what? You know what? Just don't worry about her. Everybody -- everybody, just go back to the party, okay? Come on. Let's go.
Amber: Where are we going?
Rick: To the bedroom.
Amber: Whoo! We're going to the bedroom!
Rick: Come on, Amber. Let's go.
Amber: Whoo!
******************************************************************************************
Brooke: Is Amber all right?
Bridget: Yeah. She just had a little too much to drink. How about you?
Brooke: What about me?
Bridget: Mom, I've barely seen you all night, and you haven't been talking to anyone. Obviously, you're not enjoying yourself.
Brooke: Honey, I -- of course I am. This is a wonderful party. It's just that --
[ Brooke sighs ] I'm feeling a little bit stressed out right now. I mean, it's nothing for you to be concerned about.
Bridget: Well, I am concerned. I want to know what's going on, Mom, and I want to know now.
Bridget: I know something's wrong. Mom, you're not acting like yourself. What is going on? Please. Come on, you know you don't have to hide anything from me.
[ Whip clears throat ]
Whip: Um, everyone? Everyone, can I have your attention, please? Look, it's getting late, and Brooke and I have a busy day tomorrow, so, uh, we're going to be going. But before we leave, I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank all of you, especially Bridget. Never has such a magnificent party been thrown together in such a short amount of time. Bridget, thank you for making my mother and me feel very welcome here. Now, tomorrow, Brooke and I are going to start a new life -- a life full of love and promise. A fresh start, for us and as Bridget said before, for the entire Forrester family. I am very proud to be part of that, to have all of your support. It means a lot to have Bridget stand up for us. So in the spirit of new beginnings, I would like to ask her husband, deacon, to be my best man.
Deacon: Well, gosh. Whip, I -- I just don't know what to say.
Whip: Come on, pal. Can't we lay down our swords?
Bridget: Of course you can. He would love to.
[ Bridget laughs ] it's perfect!
[ Applause ]
Stephanie: Well, what a -- a lovely ending to a wonderful evening. Bridget, do you think we should call it a night?
Bridget: Uh, well, I would love to have you all stay, but whip is right. We have a big day tomorrow.
Stephanie: Yes, and I -- I think I should just say on behalf of the Forrester family that we want to wish you and Brooke all the joy and happiness in the world and that we are very happy to have you and your mother part of the family.
Whip: Thank you, Stephanie.
Stephanie: No, thank you.
***********************************************************
Zende: I'll be right back. Hey.
Rick: Hey, Zende.
Erica: Hey.
Rick: Hi.
Erica: How's amber?
Rick: Uh, she's resting. I think we're going to have to hang out here a little while.
Erica: Um, would you like me to stay? I mean, I can. I have my own car.
Rick: No, that -- that's okay, but we could use your help tomorrow.
Erica: At the wedding?
Rick: Would you mind?
Erica: Uh, no. No, not at all. Look, if you and amber need my help, I'm here for you.
Rick: Okay. Thank you.
Erica: You're welcome.
************************************************************************
Massimo: Well -- that's it for me. I have to go.
Darla: Oh, no, no, no, no, no. It's still early yet. More coffee?
Massimo: No, no, no, no. Thank you.
Sally: Oh, Darla, quit hassling the gentleman. Mr. Marone has to prepare himself for a very important social engagement tomorrow. He is going to be attending Brooke's wedding.
Darla: Uh, you -- you and Stephanie?
Sally: Yes, indeed. And wouldn't you just love to be a fly on one of the pews at that ceremony, honey? So spicy. Oh, my. I understand that Eric is absolutely devastated at the very thought of it. I mean, he's going to have to sit there and watch his second wife walk down the aisle with some puffed-up boy toy. And then he's going to watch his first wife attend the ceremony quite possibly on the arm of his worst enemy.
Darla: Ooh, girl. My, my. Oh, what about Brooke? I heard that she might not even be in love with this guy?
Sally: Ah, you mean the rumors that say that it might be a shotgun wedding because of Brooke's pregnancy? Yes, I've heard that. It wasn't too shocking, actually. Nothing those people do shocks me anymore. So the question really isn't whether or not it's going to be a shotgun wedding. The big question is, who is going to be holding the shotgun?
Bridget: Bye! I'll see you tomorrow!
Whip: I think that went well. Bridget, again, thank you so much for such a beautiful evening.
Brooke: Oh, you're so welcome. Whip, it's cold outside. You should bring the car around for your mother.
Joy: Oh, I forgot. I have a shawl.
Bridget: Oh, Deacon, can you show joy where that is? I want to go check on Rick and Amber.
Deacon: Uh, yeah. Sure, baby. I'll -- I'll be right back.
Bridget: Well, I'll see you tomorrow. Good night, whip.
Whip: Good night. Now, you stay here, okay? I'm going to go get the car.
Stephanie: Don't mess this up. Bridget's counting on you. She wants you to be happy. That's why she wants you to marry Whip. That's what you're going to do tomorrow -- for her.
