Stephanie: I don't understand. Why would you marry Whip Jones if you're not in love with him?

Brooke: I told you, Stephanie. I am in love with him.

Stephanie: Well, then why won't you look at me when you say it?

Brooke: Why are you doing this to me? This doesn't involve you. This is my life and my marriage!

Stephanie: It involves your daughter, whom I adore.

Brooke: Well, Bridget will be just fine.

Stephanie: No, she won't be, unless she thinks you're fine. And if this marriage doesn't work, then nothing's gonna be fine.

Brooke: Stephanie, this is my problem, so just stay out of it!

Stephanie: I wish I could, but you're always screwing everything up! If you're not running off and having an affair, then you get pregnant, and then everybody ends up in the middle of this. Your daughter is a wonderful girl, and I'm not gonna stand by and see you destroy her. You understand me? If this marriage fails, or you get involved in some God awful scandal, the person that's gonna suffer is your daughter.

Deacon: There's something I think you need to know. There's nothing that I won't do to stop this wedding.

Whip: Deacon, that ship has sailed. Nothing you can do to stop us.

Deacon: We'll see about that.

Whip: Well, I suppose you could be the guy who stands up at the wedding when they ask if anybody objects.

Deacon: I don't know. Somehow I don't think it's gonna get that far.

Whip: You seem pretty confident.

Deacon: Well, when the life of your child hangs in the balance, you do what has to be done.

Whip: I see. So you're doing this for the baby?

Deacon: And Brooke.

Whip: Anybody else? Oh, come on, Deacon. Maybe Bridget, Rick? How 'bout the entire Forrester family? You know, I know it takes some intelligence to figure out where this is going, so let me walk you through it. See, if Brooke and I don't get married, the world comes to an end for the Forrester dynasty. You see, 'cause this kind of scandal isn't containable. The business, the family -- it all goes right into the toilet. And Bridget? Well, I would hate to think what this is gonna do to her.

Bridget: Okay, so I spoke to the caterers, and they're gonna take care of everything. We should set up the buffet table over here. And flowers everywhere, of course. Rick, can you make a speech welcoming Whip into the family?

Rick: Hmm? I'm sorry. What did you say?

Bridget: Can you please pay attention? This is like the most important day of Mom's life. Can you at least listen?

Taylor: Rick, what's going on with you?

Rick: Uh, Amber was supposed to be here for this.

Bridget: Well, she's not. So let's just plan it without her.

Rick: Yeah. The question is, where the hell is she?

Amber: No, I am a patient of Dr. Wilson's. Okay? I need a prescription filled, but he's out of town. It's pain medication. No, I -- I don't have time to make an appointment, okay? I'm desperate. I need this. Fine, I'll just go somewhere else. [Amber sighs] Where? Where do I go? [Amber thinking] I should be holding my daughter like that, playing with her. How could I let her die? But I did. It's my fault. It's all my fault.

Waiter: Large mocha latte, extra whipped cream? Ma'am, is this yours? [Amber sighs]

Amber: Yeah. Money. Um, you need some money. Um --

Ziggy: That kind of looks like that Forrester chick Erica's so crazy about. Amber -- Amber Forrester. Right. Looks a little wigged out.

Ziggy: Excuse me. I believe you dropped this.

Amber: Oh, thanks. Not that it matters. It's empty.

Ziggy: Yeah, I noticed. You might want to get a refill.

Amber: Why?!

Ziggy: You seem a little wound up. I figured you'd probably need them to calm you down.

Amber: You know what? You're a real genius. Get lost.

Ziggy: Okay. Now if you ever need any more of those -- nah, you -- you're connected. I'm sorry to bother you.

Amber: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait, wait, wait, wait. One second. Hey, can I ask you something?

Whip: None of this even affects you, does it? I mean, you don't care one way or the other what happens to the Forresters if the truth about this baby comes out.

Deacon: No, the truth is that you're the one who doesn't care about the Forresters. Life's a big slot machine or something to you, and you're just waiting to marry Brooke and hit the jackpot.

Whip: Okay. Yeah, yeah, whatever, Deacon. Whatever. You're gonna think what you want to think. But the fact is that Brooke Logan is soon to be Mrs. Whip Jones. [Deacon laughs]

Deacon: You keep dreaming.

Whip: Yeah, you know what? That's the best part about this whole thing, bartender. I can look at that dream, and I see it happening. See, Brooke needs me. Her baby needs me. Even you need me if you care at all about Bridget. But yeah, I'm just sitting back here, and I am waiting for that dream to happen -- my wedding day. Don't blink, because it's just around the corner.

Deacon: Really? Well, I -- I guess that doesn't give me much time then, does it?

Whip: You're out of time.

Deacon: Not yet.

Whip: Where are you going?

Deacon: To go talk some sense into Brooke.

Whip: No, you stay away from her. You understand me? I don't want you bothering her. [Deacon laughs]

Deacon: I don't give a damn what you want! And I do get her bothered, don't I, Whip? We can't seem to keep our hands off each other.

Whip: Look, this isn't a joke anymore, Deacon. Stay away from her office. It's dangerous. If Bridget were to walk in on the two of you --

Deacon: If Bridget walks in, we will take care of it! Stay out of it!

Brooke: Stephanie, believe me. I know what's at stake for my daughter.

Stephanie: But how can this marriage work if you're marrying for the wrong reason?

Brooke: Oh, trust me, I am marrying for the absolute best reason.

Stephanie: You really feel that you can spend the rest of your life with Whip Jones?

Brooke: Well, that's the idea.

Stephanie: Don't be glib with me. Something's going on. I know it as sure as I'm standing here. Just be straight with me. Tell me what this is all about.

Brooke: Just stay out of my life, and stay out of my daughter's life. I will take care of my family.

Stephanie: How many secrets have you tried to keep from me over the years? Have you ever succeeded? No. And this isn't going to be any different.

Taylor: Are you worried about Amber?

Rick: She's still having problems.

Taylor: Rick, it hasn't been that long since she lost the baby.

Bridget: Yeah. Cut her some slack. She's going through a hard time.

Rick: I'm not on her case, budge. What is the matter with you?

Bridget: We have a wedding party to plan, and I'm the matron of honor, okay? I just want to come through for Mom.

Rick: She's not expecting anything, Bridget. This wedding is no big deal. She's not even involved.

Bridget: She loves Whip! And I think they're perfect together! God, is it so wrong for me to want this to be a perfect day for her?

Taylor: Listen, why don't we just take a couple of deep breaths here. Bridget, your mother's wedding is important. It is very important. And Rick, whatever's going on with Amber, I'm sure she's fine. She's dealing with her grief.

Rick: Yeah. Dealing with it how?

Amber: What did you just say? Hmm?

Ziggy: I'm not sure I want to talk to you. You're pretty rude, you know?

Amber: Well, I'm sorry. I'm just not myself. Could you just come sit at my table. You see, I need these for pain. And I would usually get them from my doctor, but he's out of town. So --

Ziggy: Sure, babe. Sure.

Amber: So you said that maybe you could get some for me?

Ziggy: I don't recall actually saying that.

Amber: No, no, no, your exact words were, "if I needed anymore of these --" well, I do. So could you get them for me?

Ziggy: Whoa.

Amber: Well, no, I mean, I can pay you. I have money.

Ziggy: It's not about money. How do I know -- I'm not sure that I can trust you.

Amber: Well, it's just between you and me.

Ziggy: Just you and me.

Amber: Please?

Ziggy: You really need those, huh?

Amber: Desperately.

Ziggy: Well, I hate to see someone suffer -- especially someone as pretty as you are. I tell you what. I have a friend nearby. Maybe he can help.

Amber: Oh, thank you. Thank you.

Ziggy: Give me $300.

Amber: $300?! These things are only 30 bucks at the store -- drugstore.

Ziggy: This isn't exactly the drugstore, is it? Look, you know what? Let's just forget about it.

Amber: No, no, no. No, no! I have the money right in here. Wait, wait.

Ziggy: Okay. Whoa. Whoa, okay, easy. Just hold my hand.

Amber: What?

Ziggy: Give me the hand with the money in it. Sit tight. I won't be long.

Deacon: Brooke, we gotta talk.

Brooke: More talk?

Deacon: This isn't going to work. We have to do something, but, baby, marrying Whip is not the answer.

Brooke: Well then what is the answer, Deacon? Please tell me.

Deacon: I went over this in my head. And I can't find a way that anyone's gonna be a winner. You're gonna wind up suffering. I'm gonna wind up suffering. Bridget's definitely gonna wind up suffering. But this little baby that you're carrying inside of you, he or she doesn't care about scandal. The only thing that's important to this child, Brooke, is that its parents are together. They can love it. They can watch it grow -- teach it values. That's not going to happen if you marry Whip. There's only one way that that can happen, the only way that this child is gonna grow up and be happy is that if you and I are together. I think it's time we come clean. I think it's time we tell Bridget.

Amber: I can't believe it. I just let that creep walk away with $300 of my money! How could I be so stupid? Oh, my -- oh, you are losing it, Amber.

Ziggy: How does the song go? The candy man can?

Amber: You did it! Well, where did -- where did you get them? These are the same pills! They're exactly the same ones.

Ziggy: Yeah, well, I have friends everywhere. One of them happens to work at a pharmacy nearby.

Amber: Thanks.

Ziggy: That's what I'm talking about. Five minutes, and you'll be looking down at the rest of us.

Amber: How many exactly are in here?

Ziggy: Enough for about a week, depending on your appetite.

Amber: Uh, look, I -- I need to go.

Ziggy: Don't I even get a thank you? [Amber sighs]

Amber: Thank you.

Ziggy: Oh, come on, you can do better than that. I'm just kidding. Listen, take my card. My cell phone is always on. If you need anything, don't hesitate. See you soon.

Bridget: Look -- Rick, I'm sorry. I know you're worried about Amber. But Taylor's right. She just needs some space. We can plan this party ourselves.

Rick: Wasn't Deacon supposed to help?

Bridget: Yeah, I thought so, too. But I guess he's busy at work. You know, Rick, I don't know what's going on here.

Rick: What do you mean?

Bridget: Something about this wedding. I just -- I want it to be so perfect. But it doesn't feel right. I mean, you're acting weird, Mom's acting weird. Nobody seems to be into it.

Taylor: Bridget, I'm sure your mother's aware this isn't exactly gonna be your normal wedding. She is six months pregnant.

Bridget: I guess. Anyway. I have to call uncle storm, aunt Katie and aunt Donna.

Rick: Wait. Didn't Mom tell you that they're not coming?

Bridget: What? Why not?

Rick: I don't know. I guess she just doesn't want them to be there.

Bridget: What is going on?! [Phone rings]

Stephanie: Hello?

Bridget: Hey, Stephanie, are you still with my mom?

Stephanie: Oh, no, I'm not. As a matter of fact, I'm on my way out the building.

Bridget: I just wanted to talk to her about her brothers and sisters. She didn't invite them.

Stephanie: Well, I wouldn't worry about it. Just go ahead and plan your party. Are you feeling better?

Bridget: Not really. I'm still worried.

Stephanie: About what?

Bridget: Mom. I just hope she doesn't back out. No, she's not gonna back out. Of course she's not gonna back out. She loves Whip. And she knows how right this is for all of us. Stephanie, I'm sorry I bothered you.

Stephanie: Oh, it's no bother.

Bridget: Okay. I'll talk to you later. Bye.

Stephanie: I'll see you later. Oh, I left those reports up in Brooke's office.

Brooke: Deacon, I can't.

Deacon: Look, we have to do what's best for this child!

Brooke: Our child, yes. But what about my child? What about Bridget? You are everything to her. And now I am threatening to take that away. How can I do this? I look at her, Deacon, and I see the sadness in her eyes. And I have caused it. And I can't do that to her again. I can't disappoint her. I can't betray her after everything she's been through! But I love you. God, I love you so much. I do. [Brooke sobbing] Someone was at the door!

Deacon: Brooke, it was probably just Megan.

Stephanie: Was I wrong about Whip and Brooke. Talk about love in bloom.

Whip: Oh, hi, Mrs. Forrester. See you at the party later tonight.

Stephanie: Brooke -- [Knock at door] Brooke, open up. I want to talk to you. Brooke! [Knock at door]

Brooke: Stephanie, what is it --

Stephanie: Who are you in here with?

Brooke: You can't just barge in here like that!

Stephanie: I just saw you in here kissing someone. Who was it?
