The Bold & The Beautiful Thursday 4/11/02

Amber: Walk in tandem right down this way. Make your moves like we practiced.

Caitlin: How much space between us?

Choreographer: Five or six feet -- uh, ten between you and Bridget.

Bridget: Uh, quick question. When I come out in the showstopper, how long do I have?

Choreographer: Milk it. If the audience is into it --

Bridget: Oh, they'll be into it.

Choreographer: Then stay out here as long as you want.

Bridget: You got it!

Choreographer: All right, cool.

Deacon: Uh, you know what? Let's move these back a little bit so we have more room for the photographers, okay? Thanks.

Amber: Hey, how's it going?

Deacon: Well, I think it's pretty safe to say that we're looking at an all-nighter.

Amber: But you'll be ready for tomorrow?

Deacon: Yeah, I'll be ready. Don't worry about it. So listen, how are you feeling?

Amber: You know, my whole life I've dreamed about a moment like this -- me, amber Moore, the street girl from furnace creek. And tomorrow, I show the world my first collection. I am a fashion designer!

[ Deacon laughs ]

[ Amber laughs ]

*****************************************************************************************

Stephanie: If only you knew how much I loved you, then you'd understand what I've done is for Ridge and you.

Taylor: Finally -- a little time just for the two of us.

Stephanie: Where are the children?

Taylor: They went to a movie with Uncle Thorne.

Stephanie: Oh, how nice!

Taylor: So now, I want to hear all about it.

Stephanie: About what?

Taylor: Your anniversary dinner.

Stephanie: I'd rather hear -- thank you -- all about you and Ridge. How is that going?

[ Taylor sighs ]

Taylor: It hasn't been very easy.

Stephanie: How's the hand?

Taylor: The pain's gone, but he's still not able to sketch.

Stephanie: Oh, god, Taylor.

Taylor: No, look. I'm glad he's out of Forrester Creations.

Stephanie: You really feel that way?

Taylor: It is dysfunction junction over there -- scandals, illegitimate children. You and Eric were the only normal things there. So tell me what happened at your dinner.

Stephanie: Oh. Well, where to begin?

Taylor: Did he cook?

Stephanie: We didn't have dinner.

Taylor: No?

Stephanie: Taylor, Eric and I are not going to reconcile.

************************************************************************

[ Knock at door ]

Eric: Please, let it be Stephanie. What do you want?

Massimo: I've come with an olive branch, Eric.

Eric: You'll need more than that to be welcome in this house.

Massimo: I just need a moment of your time, all right?

Eric: Look, I already know about Stephanie, so if you've come here to gloat --

Massimo: That's not it at all.

Eric: Then what?

Massimo: Well, first of all, about Stephanie. You and I are never going to agree about that. She's had two significant men in her life -- one she married, one she never forgot. Something held us together -- a bond so strong, indelible that we were bound to find each other again eventually.

Eric: Look, I'm not going to listen to this. What do you -- what do you want from me?!

Massimo: Look, I don't know how to say this to make you understand, so I'll just say it. But Eric, I feel for you.

Eric: You condescending bastard. Get out!

Massimo: Not yet.

Eric: So help me, Massimo --

Massimo: No, no. Wait a minute. Just wait a minute. You're a victim. I see that now, just as I've been a victim for so many years.

Eric: You're no victim, Massimo. You're a predator. You stalk your prey until she's vulnerable, and then you attack. That's what you did to Stephanie. Well, this isn't over with Stephanie. You may think it is, but it's not. For some reason she is with you, and I have no idea what that is, but it's not love. You may have sex, but -- you don't even have that, do you?

[ crickets chirping ]

Eric: So she moved in, but she's not sharing her bed.

Massimo: Believe what you want, all right, Eric? I didn't come here to discuss my sex life.

Eric: You know what your problem is, Massimo? You think you have power, but you don't. Power is not about money and influence. Power in a relationship is about years and years of commitment, raising a family together, and you don't have a family. You're an empty, shallow tycoon who has the world by the throat, and you're miserable because you realize that's not enough.

Massimo: You know, in many respects you're right. I missed out on a lot, but it wasn't my fault.

[ Massimo sighs ] I was kept in the dark.

Eric: By whom?

Massimo: Fate, circumstances -- but thank god, it's not like that. You see, I have a family now.

Eric: No, you don't. You're holding a woman captive, and I mean that quite literally. You're holding something over Stephanie's head, or she wouldn't even be there with you right now.

Massimo: Stephanie is free to leave anytime she wishes.

Eric: And you call that a family?

Massimo: It's not just Stephanie, Eric. I have Ridge as well.

**************************************************************************

Taylor: You're not going back to Eric?

Stephanie: Well, I just think -- I think it's the best thing.

Taylor: Best for whom?

Stephanie: Everyone.

Taylor: I just thought the way you were talking the last few days --

Stephanie: I know, I know, and Eric is a wonderful man, and he's always going to be very special to me -- very special.

Taylor: It's because of ridge, isn't it? Everything that happened at Forrester?

Stephanie: Well, I do think he was treated very unfairly there.

Taylor: Do you really think that that was all Eric's fault?

Stephanie: Not completely.

Taylor: So that's not the reason you won't go back to Eric though?

Stephanie: You know, I just can't go through another scandal.

Taylor: Well, I can sort of see where you're coming from. I suppose people would try to make something out of why Eric couldn't help ridge keep his position, but is that really why you can't forgive him?

Stephanie: The truth is, I've moved in with Massimo.

Taylor: What?!

Stephanie: Look, I don't want to talk about it, okay? I've made a decision. I'm going to stick to it.

Taylor: That's a little strange, isn't it, Stephanie?

Stephanie: Please don't ask me any questions, all right?

Taylor: Well, you know Ridge is going to hit the roof when he hears about this.

Stephanie: I did it for Ridge.

Taylor: Come again?

Stephanie: What I mean is, I -- I didn't want him to think that I had sided with his father and the rest of that gang at Forrester.

Taylor: I've got to say, but that is really a bad reason to leave a marriage to move in with another man.

Stephanie: Well, it is a little more complicated than that. I mean --

Taylor: And I'm listening.

Stephanie: I'm not talking.

Taylor: Yes, you are, Stephanie. You've got to talk to somebody about it or it's going to drive you crazy. Now let's hear about it. What is it?

[ Door closes ]

Ridge: Hey. You're my two favorite women. These would be for you.

Taylor: Thank you.

Ridge: I think we can share one with mother as well.

Stephanie: Well, thank you, darling.

Taylor: What in the world happened to you?

Ridge: Well, you're not even going to believe it.

Bridget: Hey, get your hands off that pregnant woman. I swear, between you and mom, I am starting to feel a little bit inadequate here.

***************************************************************************************************************

Amber: Are you ready for tomorrow?

Bridget: Are you kidding me? I am so psyched!

Amber: Can you imagine the look on those reporters faces when they see the show?!

Deacon: I think we ought to take it easy on those stuffy old-timers. We don't want the paramedics in here.

Bridget: Oh, come on. They can handle it. How's the baby?

Amber: Oh, happily gestating.

Bridget: Good, good.

Deacon: All right, all right. Enough chit chat. Listen, why don't you go home and go put that cocktail dress on. And please, do me a favor -- go, get some rest. You've got a big day tomorrow.

Amber: Are you kidding? I've still got sound check to do. Um, you know what? We're going to have to make some final --

[ Bridget laughs ]

Bridget: I don't think I've ever seen Amber this excited.

Deacon: Yeah. I want to slow her down. I -- I just think we ought to keep a close eye on her.

Bridget: Don't worry, honey. She knows how far she can push herself.

Deacon: Yeah.

Amber: Testing. One, two, testing. Do you guys hear me okay out there?

Deacon: Yeah, we hear you fine, Amber.

[ Amber laughs ]

Amber: Fine, huh? Yeah, I feel fine, too -- so fine. Ladies and gentlemen, introducing the world's first singing designer -- you wear her clothes and you will rock, too.

This time feels like the right time

every time I'm with you my love got this feeling I've found Mr. Right

love grows and heaven knows

Bridget: She's great, isn't she?

Deacon: She's something else, but Bridget, look at her. I want her to be resting.

Bridget: Don't worry. She knows what she's doing. She does.

Come love me tonight Mr. Right

[ cheers and applause ] Thank you.

**********************************************************************

Taylor: Where have you been?

Ridge: Massimo's office.

Taylor: Oh, no.

Ridge: It's okay. It's okay. I'm in one piece, and so is he.

Stephanie: Why did you go over there?

Ridge: To lay the guy out.

Taylor: Honey, I told you --

Ridge: Just relax. Relax. Nothing happened. Well, that's not completely true.

Taylor: All right, let's hear it. What happened?

Ridge: I was pretty steamed when I went over there. Massimo was waiting for me. So I let him have it.

Taylor: And then?

Ridge: And then something very amazing happened. He told me he wanted to show me something. He took me into another office, but not just an office. Probably the most beautiful office I've ever seen. And then he told me that it was mine.

Stephanie: Yours?

Ridge: Yeah. Mother, he wants me to run Marone Industries, as the future owner of the whole company.

Taylor: The owner?

Ridge: He's giving it to us, Taylor -- lock, stock and barrel. The whole thing. When he dies, we inherit it. Not only that. He wants us to be heir to the whole estate.

Taylor: I didn't believe him. I thought -- I didn't think he meant it. Actually, I don't think you should, either.

Ridge: You know, I thought about that, too. But he has no hold over me. He knows that if I find out he's lying, I'm gone. He knows that really well.

Taylor: Why? Why would he do something like that? Why?

Ridge: I don't know. Mother, do you have any idea?

************************************************************************************

Eric: Marone, you may think you have ridge, but he's onto you.

Massimo: You mean because you told him how I supported his brother Rick's efforts?

Eric: He'll never trust you again after that.

Massimo: Well, if the truth were known, I'm sorry that he discovered that.

Eric: Well, you'll forgive me if I don't apologize.

Massimo: In any case, it's okay, because it opened things up. I mean, not quite as much is I would like to see them open, but at least we're talking.

Eric: If you think ridge is ever gonna forgive you for that, then you're -- you're more of a fool than even I thought you were.

Massimo: Eric, I suggest you make yourself a drink.

Eric: No, thanks. I'm not in the mood. And I'm certainly not going to drink with you. Although I'm very glad you stopped by. This attempt of yours at detente tells me something. It tells me that your life with Stephanie is not at all what you wanted it to be and that your influence over ridge has all but disappeared. Have a nice evening. Show yourself out.

Massimo: I have named Ridge sole heir to my entire estate. I have hired him to run Marone Industries.

************************************************************************************************

Ridge: Mother, do you know why Massimo is doing this for me?

Stephanie: What did he tell you?

Ridge: The guy's on a mission. He believes in his company, and he wants it to continue after he's gone. He thinks I'm the man for the job. I tend to believe him, but --

Stephanie: But what?

Ridge: I don't know. I get the feeling there's a lot more to this. I don't know what it is, but I think you do know.

Stephanie: I'm not involved in this. This is your decision. I can only assume that you'll probably refuse.

Ridge: He's offering me security for my family, my children, their children. He's basically giving me a dynasty. I accepted his offer.

Taylor: Ridge, are you doing this because you're angry with your father?

Ridge: It's so much more than that, Taylor.

Eric: You told Ridge you're going to leave him your estate? That's a pretty desperate act, isn't it?

Massimo: No, no, no, no. I'm very serious.

Eric: And you offered him a job to run your company?

Massimo: As a matter of fact, I built him an office fit for a chief executive, right next door to mine.

Eric: Did he laugh in your face?

Massimo: No, but he did think I was trying to manipulate him.

Eric: Gee, I wonder why.

Massimo: And then I talked to him. I told him how everything was going to be in writing. Perhaps you should have your lawyers check it out. It is iron-clad, Eric. The company is his when I die. It's immutable. It cannot be changed. A billion-dollar industry -- it's all gonna go to ridge, and then he can leave it all to his family.

Eric: You're lying.

Massimo: We'll see about that, won't we? Good night.

Eric: What is this? What are you doing?!

Massimo: I'm providing, Eric. I'm providing for Ridge, his family, Stephanie. Something you failed to do.

**************************************************************************************************

Amber: Okay, Bridget, I want to go over the lineup with you one more time, okay? 'Cause I changed a couple of things.

Bridget: No way. I'm taking you home.

Amber: Come on, you need to know this.

Bridget: We can handle it in notes tomorrow morning.

Amber: You sure?

Bridget: Yes, I'm sure. Don't worry. I can handle anything you throw at me.

Amber: Okay. Hey, everybody, listen up. I want to say something. I'm sure you all probably know how much this showing means to me.

Caitlin: Oh, no, really, Amber? I had no idea. Did any of you?

[ Laughter ]

Amber: Okay, okay. I know. I've been a little intense lately. But I just want it to be perfect.

Deacon: And it will be, Amber. We're gonna do you proud tomorrow. Right, guys?

All: That's right.

Amber: Well, most of you know where I've come from, so you know how hard this has been for me. And now, standing in front of all of you on the eve of my first big entrance to the fashion world, it's pretty much indescribable. And I just want to thank each and every one of you for all of the hard work that you've put into this. We are going to shake the world tomorrow! Forrester Creations is all about style -- expensive style. But tomorrow, we are going to rewrite the books. The ambrosia line is going to be like nothing the fashion world's ever seen. It's gonna be edgy, sexy, hot and, best of all, affordable. You know, most of these buyers are gonna be coming in here tomorrow with a yawn. You know, just another fashion show. But they won't be yawning when they leave here, will they?

All: No.

Amber: Yeah. So I will see you all in the morning, bright and early, for a new chapter of Forrester Creations.

[ Cheers and applause ]

Deacon: Listen, I'm gonna make sure everybody's okay. And then Bridget and I are taking you home. You understand?

Amber: Gotcha.
