The Bold & The Beautiful Transcript Friday 1/25/02 By Linda Bridget: Mmm -- where did you get this chili? Deacon: Where did I get it? See that would imply that I bought it somewhere. I made this. Bridget: You did not. Deacon: Yes, I did. I -- Bridget: When did you have time? Deacon: It's chili, this is easy. This is nothing. Bridget: Well, it's really good. So what's in here? Deacon: Is that your subtle way of asking what the recipe is? Bridget: Mm-hmm. Deacon: No, not gonna happen. Secret recipe. Bridget: What? Deacon: Can't tell you. I can't. Bridget: I'm hurt. I'm your wife, this is like, you know, community property or something. Deacon: So what I have to tell you like half the recipe? Hmm-mm, not gonna happen. Forget it. Bridget: Just when I thought I knew everything there was to know about you. Deacon: Not quite. Bridget: Hmm. Deacon: Hmm, what? Bridget: You know, I'm just thinking about all those people who thought we'd never make it. Deacon: There's a hell of a list. Bridget: Yeah. God, if they could see us right now. Can you imagine my mom? She would freak. **************************************************************************************** Sally: You know, Massimo, it's obvious from what you told me that young Rick aced everybody out of the Forrester board meeting. Massimo: Uh-huh, with a little help. Actually, he's a very sharp young man. I can see him going far. Sally: With you behind him, I don't doubt it. Though I am a little bit surprised that he allowed you to help him. Massimo: I'm never surprised when anyone does anything for his own best interest. He needed information -- information I had. So I spent a few hours educating him on the intricacies of corporate finance. Sally: Uh-huh. And then Rick spent a little time educating Ridge. Hmm? You know, from the look of him sitting over there, I don't think he's quite recovered yet. Obviously, that scowl means that he is nursing a very bruised ego. Massimo: It has nothing to do with ego, Sally. The man is watching his life's dream slip away. Sally: Now you're confusing me. You sound like you feel sorry for him. Massimo: Sally, he's my son. Sally: But you're the one who put him in this position. Massimo: I am not. It was Eric and his wandering eye. He married Brooke, and he lost half his company to her. Okay? What's left for ridge isn't worth his time and talent. And I'm trying to get him see that. The realization, when it comes, is going to be very, very painful. Sally: Hmm. Oh. Look out -- speaking of painful. I think we have just been spotted. ************************************************************************************ Taylor: Honey, what is the matter? Ridge: Over there. You don't need to encourage him. Taylor: Ridge, I can't be rude. What is he doing with Sally, anyway? Ridge: I don't know, and I don't care. So long as he stays the hell away from me. Jerry: How is everything? Massimo: Fine, thank you, Jerry. Jerry: The pepper steak is not too spicy? Massimo: No, no, no. It's just the way I like it. Jerry: Excellent. Massimo: Oh, Jerry. You could do me a favor, if you don't mind. Jerry: Yes, sir. Massimo: Would you check and see if you have an '82 Margeaux. Oh, no, no, better still -- let's make it a vintage rose champagne. Jerry: Excellent. Right away. Massimo: Thank you. Sally: Boy, oh, boy. You don't believe in doing anything halfway, do you? Massimo: Look who's talking. Sally: Well, you got that right. So, let's drink to it. Here's to going all the way. **************************************************************************************** Daniel: How's the pepper steak? Ridge: Oh, it's excellent. Daniel: Some people find it a little spicy. Taylor: Oh, that's exactly the way he likes it. Ridge: Like my women that way, too. Taylor: Your women? Daniel: I'll leave you two alone. Taylor: I wonder what they're celebrating. Ridge: Who? Taylor: Massimo and Sally, over there. Ridge: I thought we weren't going to talk about them any more. Taylor: I just didn't realize you were still so angry at him, Ridge. Ridge: Why wouldn't I be? Look at the way the guy acts towards me -- Taylor: Polite and respectful? Ridge: Yeah, exactly. But he can't stand me. But he's trying to win me over, you know? He's trying to enlist me as an ally. I'm not gonna fall for it. I'm just not gonna fall for it, that's all. ************************************************************************************ Brooke: So Rick is doing well-- Megan: Yeah, he's doing great. Aren't you going to ask me about Bridget? Brooke: I already know how Bridget's doing. She's happy. She's very happy -- because Deacon's taking good care of her. Megan: Even though it's killing him. Brooke: No, it's not killing him. He loves her. Megan: I don't know about that. Brooke: Well, I do. Megan, he found out about the baby. Megan: I know. Brooke: You do? Megan: Yeah, he told me. Brooke: Well, then you know how much he cares about my daughter. He's willing to keep this a secret and never acknowledge his child just to protect her. Megan: I think it's you. I do. I think it's you he wants to protect. Brooke: He just doesn't want to hurt anybody else. Megan: Especially you, Brooke. Brooke, look at me. Deacon Sharpe is in love with you. Brooke: Well, he shouldn't be. Megan: But he is, Brooke, and you're in love with him. Or none of this would've happened. You wouldn't have this baby growing inside you. And what, you're going to deny those feelings? Worse than that -- you're going to deny this child his father? Brooke: There's just no other way. Megan: But, Brooke, it's wrong. I can't believe you don't see this. This is so wrong. *************************************************************** Deacon: Hey, you, want some more Irish coffee? Bridget: Sure. Thank you. Deacon: Welcome. Bridget: This is so perfect up here. Deacon: Yeah, I like to come up here just -- you know, I just think. Clear my head. Bridget: Yeah, what are you thinking now? Deacon: I'm thinking how good I got it. How I don't want to blow it. Bridget: Well, you're doing pretty well so far. Deacon: You think so, huh? Bridget: Yeah. Deacon, I couldn't be happier. Deacon: Good. Bridget: It just makes me kind of sad for my mom. Deacon: What do you mean? Bridget: I don't -- I don't think she's ever had this, you know, just this feeling of total contentment. I mean, with ridge, there was always an insecurity, even when they were together. And with dad, well, I think she knew pretty early on that they were a mistake. She may have come close with Thorne. Deacon: I kind of doubt that. Bridget: You do? Deacon: Well, I mean, you know, she did seem to move on with her life pretty quickly after they split up, you know? Bridget: Well, who says she's moved on? Mom and Thorne were good friends -- best friends, for years before they got involved. Those feelings just don't go away. I wouldn't be surprised if they got back together. Deacon: Oh, come on, come on. I mean, the guy does have his pride, right? Bridget: What? 'Cause she went after Ridge when they broke up? Deacon: Uh, no. Because she thought about Ridge the entire time that they were together. Bridget: Yeah, but she learned her lesson, didn't she? Besides, you may not know this, but my mom has kind of an effect on men. I don't know what it is, exactly -- maybe you can tell me. Deacon: Hey, that's my -- that's my mother-in-law. Bridget: Good answer. Anyway, just take my word for it. If she wanted Thorne back, she'd get him. With the exception of Ridge -- no man has ever been able to resist her. ********************************************************************* Brooke: This is my decision to make. Megan: I know, but you're not thinking clearly. You couldn't be if you think hiding your feelings is the solution. Brooke: Well, then what is the solution, Megan?! Please, tell me, if you have all the answers. Megan: Brooke, I'm sorry. I know you're under a lot of pressure. Brooke: Yes, yes, I am. Megan: Sometimes when your thinking like this, you end up panicking and making the wrong decision. I just -- I just don't want to see that, okay? This is not just your life anymore. There is a baby involved -- Brooke: God, don't you think I know that? Don't you think I want what's best for my child? Megan: By lying to him about his father? He has a right to know. Brooke: Megan, think. Think what this baby will lose, what he will go through if everybody knows who his father is. All that love waiting for him back in L.A., It will just disappear. And nobody would forgive us, especially Rick and Bridget. And this baby would be an outcast. He would be shamed and ridiculed, and I know how that feels. Do you think I want my baby going through that? My innocent little child? Megan: Oh, Brooke. Brooke: You know, Deacon will have a chance to get to know him. They'll be close. They will. We both want that. But you're wrong when you say all he wants to do is to protect me, because he also wants to protect his baby. And that just shows you what a kind heart he has and how strong he really is. And that he's willing to do this because he really loves his baby. Oh, god, Megan. I really hate to do this to him. But there is no another way. So please, please don't tell me that there is -- because there isn't. I know there isn't. God, I wish there was. Megan: Shh. ********************************************************************************** Deacon: It's getting kind of late. You want to head back down. Bridget: Not yet. Deacon: What are you doing? Bridget: I want you to hear this song. It kind of reminds me of our wedding -- our first wedding. There's a 24 hour chapel Deacon: Oh, man I know this. I know this song. Bridget: You do? How do you know his song? Deacon: My mother used to love this song. Walk down the aisle shoe you on your feet oh, Vegas wedding bells Deacon: Oh, man. Vegas wedding bells I should've run like hell when I heard those Vegas wedding bells baby, I was drunk it was a wild weekend [ Deacon and Bridget laughing ] we started as lovers never became friends but love is a gamble sometimes get mean like a silver dollar in a broken slot machine [ Deacon sings along ] Oh, Vegas wedding bells those Vegas wedding bells I should've run like hell when heard those -- big finish -- Vegas wedding bells [ Deacon and Bridget laugh ] Bridget: Now, I think we should go downstairs. Deacon: You want to go back down to the lair? Bridget: Hmm, I was thinking more -- your apartment. Deacon: Ahh. I'll tell you what -- I'm just gonna clean some of this stuff up. Bridget: Well, I'll help you. Deacon: No, that's all right. Full service operation here. Just go downstairs, and I'll be there soon, okay? Bridget: Okay. Don't make me wait. Deacon: Okay. [ Deacon remembering ] Brooke: You're going to protect my precious daughter. And you're going to protect me and our child, by never saying a word of this to anybody. Then I will be grateful to you for the rest of my life. Deacon: That's what I'm trying to do, Brooke. That's what I'm trying to do. ************************************************************************************** Jerry: I think Mr. Forrester will be very happy. This is one of his favorite champagnes. Massimo: I thought it might be. There you are. Jerry: Thank you sir. And enjoy the rest of your evening. Massimo: Thank you very much. Daniel: You didn't tell me this was a special occasion. Ridge: Is it? Daniel: Well, somebody seems to think so. Jerry: A gift from Mr. Marone. Ridge: I see. Jerry: A '75 Dom rose. [ Taylor gasps ] Taylor: Oh, my. Daniel: And there's a note. Taylor: What does it say? Ridge: "There are better times ahead." Taylor: Whatever that means. Jerry: Shall I open the bottle, sir? Ridge: Yes, please. May I? Jerry: Certainly, sir. Taylor: Oh! Ridge! Ridge: Come on, Taylor, let's go. Sally: Sorry, darling. ******************************************************************** [ Deacon daydreaming ] [ Brooke grunting ] Deacon: Come, baby. You can do it. You can do it. You're almost there. You're almost there. Obstetrician: Come on, Brooke, one more push. Deacon: Come on, sweetheart. Push. Come on, come on. That's it, that's it. [ Brooke groans ] [ baby cries ] Obstetrician: Here she is. Deacon: She? It's a girl. Brooke: You were right. Our beautiful baby girl. Brooke: Thorne. Thorne: I got here as soon as I could. Brooke: It's a little girl. Thorne: Oh, that's wonderful. Hey, thanks for being here, man. You can go now. Deacon: I don't want to go. Brooke: I think you should. The baby's father is here now. Deacon: He's not the father. I'm the father. Thorne: Deacon, we agreed. This is what's best for the child. Deacon: I was wrong. Brooke: Do you want to lose Bridget? Do you want her to hate both of us? Deacon: I can't do this. I thought I could do it. I thought I could, but I can't do this, Brooke. Thorne: Hey, look at you. Oh, my gosh. Deacon: That's my little girl over there. I can't just turn my back on her -- or on you. Brooke: We don't have any other choice. Deacon: We'll find way. We'll make a way. Brooke: There is no other way. Just move on -- move on with your life. Please, just go away and forget about us. Deacon: I can't. Brooke: Just go. Please, just go. Go and forget about us, Deacon. Bridget: Deacon? Are you okay? Deacon: Yeah. Yeah, what do you say we go downstairs. Bridget: No, I changed my mind. What do you say we stay up here. Deacon: Baby, it's cold up here. Bridget: You can keep me warm. Deacon: Wow. Honey, you're not -- you're not wearing any clothes? Bridget: I don't know. I didn't think I would need them. Deacon: I think -- I think that's very good thinking. Bridget: Mm-hmm. Will you please get over here, I'm freezing. Deacon: Yes, right now. I'm there. Bridget: Deacon, I love you so much. Deacon: I know you do. Me, too.
