Deacon: There. I said it, and I meant it. I love you, Brooke. I do.
Brooke: I can't let you tell me that.
Deacon: Why not? Because you feel the same way?
Brooke: No!
Deacon: Brooke, you don't have to be afraid of it! Look, I'm not a shrink, all right? But hiding your feelings isn't gonna help you get over it. Admit it, Brooke. Just say it. You love me, too. Say it.
Brooke: Yes. Yes, I love you. God help me, I do love you, Deacon.
Amber: Hi, Alex.
Alexandria: Hey, Mom, how's it going?
Amber: I'm getting bigger every day.
Alexandria: Oh, gosh.
Amber: So how are things going around here?
Alexandria: Same old, same old.
Amber: Yeah? Well, not for Deacon it isn't. I hear his boss sent him to Vegas on a business trip, huh?
Alexandria: Who told you that?
Tony: Well, hello.
Ridge: Hey, hey.
Tony: Taylor, Ridge, hey guys. How are you? Come on in. It's nice to see you.
Ridge: Thank you. Hey, guys. Zende, I'm your new uncle, Ridge. Welcome.
Zende: Hi.
Kristen: This is your aunt Taylor.
Taylor: Hi. It's so nice to meet you. Oh, we're so excited! Say hi, guys.
Kristen: This is Thomas, and Phoebe and Steffy.
Phoebe: Hi.
Steffy: Hi.
Thomas: We brought you something.
Zende: Thanks.
Tony: Well, go ahead and open it.
Zende: Wow!
Steffy: You like it?
Zende: Yeah! What is it?
Kristen: Honey, it's a videogame. You know, Thomas, will you show him how it works?
Thomas: Sure. Come on over here.
Taylor: Oh, my gosh, he is adorable!
Kristen: You don't have to tell us.
Ridge: It took a lot of courage to do what you did.
Tony: I don't think so. I mean, he's an awesome little kid. Our only regret is that we couldn't adopt him a little brother or a little sister.
Kristen: Maybe we will.
Kristen: Okay, who wants more? [A chorus of "mes"]
Taylor: And how about a few napkins? Here we go.
Zende: This is good. What is it called again?
Thomas: Pizza.
Zende: Pizza. And what are these?
Tony: Pepperoni.
Zende: They look like big red eyeballs. [Laughter]
Kristen: My son, the clown.
Tony: Hey, hey, easy there, champ. You're not used to this kind of food.
Kristen: Zende isn't used to all this food that we have around here. There wasn't much food where he came from.
Steffy: That's sad.
Taylor: Well, that's why we thank God for what we have every day.
Kristen: Amen.
Thomas: Hey, Zende, wanna go and play football out on the beach?
Zende: Football?
Thomas: Come on, I'll teach you the rules. I'll be quarterback. Phoebe, you can be receiver. And, Steffy, you have to tackle us.
Steffy: I hate tackling.
Taylor: Thomas, no rough stuff.
Thomas: Yeah, yeah, I know.
Ridge: I think those four are going to be best buddies.
Taylor: Mmm, I think Phoebe has a crush on her new cousin.
Ridge: Well, that's my girl.
Amber: Hank didn't send Deacon to Vegas?
Alexandria: If hank needed someone to go to Vegas, he'd send himself.
Amber: Well, are you sure? 'Cause Deacon said that --
Alexandria: Deacon said what? That the boss sent him to Vegas?
Amber: On business.
Alexandria: He told you that?
Amber: Well, no, I mean, he didn't -- you know, I'm probably just getting the story wrong.
Alexandria: Yeah, I think so. Look, girl, I'll be right back.
Amber: I didn't get the story wrong. Bridget thinks Deacon's in Vegas. [Amber remembering]
Hey, Amber.
Amber: Hi.
Bridget: If you're looking for Deacon, you just missed him.
Amber: Oh, do you think he'd mind picking Eric up from preschool?
Bridget: Oh, normally he'd love to, but he's out of town.
Amber: He is?
Bridget: Yeah. His boss flew him to Vegas for a business meeting.
Amber: Really?
Bridget: Um-hmm. Pretty cool, huh?
Amber: Vegas?
Amber: But he isn't. Then where is he?
Deacon: Hey, wipe these tears away. I think we both needed that, right?
Brooke: I know. I know. It's just -- I just hate myself for it.
Deacon: Brooke, nobody planned this. We're not staking each other out, this just happened.
Brooke: Well, we should have fought it.
Deacon: Fought it? Fought it? I've been doing everything I can to fight this. I have been doing everything I can to forget about you, and I just -- I can't do it. I don't know what it is. I don't -- I don't know if it's your eyes or if it's the chemistry that we have together, but, baby, you blow me away. You overwhelm me. And I just can't stop thinking about you. I can't turn my back on this.
Brooke: I felt exactly the same way. Oh, Deacon, why did this happen to us?
Deacon: I have no idea. But I know this. I have never felt this way about a woman in my life, and I don't think I ever will. Brooke, I'm not just -- I'm not just talking about the sex. It's weird. It's like -- it's like the things that you think about the most, for me, was afterward, lying with you, holding you. It's like at that moment everything seemed to make sense. Everything seemed just, like, balanced to me. For that moment, the entire world was balanced. I've never felt that way. I've -- hell, I've never even thought about that till I met you. And, baby, I can't stop thinking about it now. It's all I think about.
Thomas: And then I threw the ball as far as I could, and Zende jumped up and caught it.
Ridge: Very cool. Very cool.
Tony: Boy!
Steffy; he was awesome.
Tony: Hey, maybe there's a future in the NFL for you.
Zende: National football league.
Tony: You learn fast.
Thomas: Stick with me, I'll show you the ropes.
Zende: What ropes?
Ridge: That's just a figure of speech. It means he wants to teach you something.
Zende: Yeah! Ow.
Kristen: Oh, honey, what's wrong?
Zende: My tummy hurts.
Kristen: Oh, it's probably all that pizza that you ate. You want to go in the bedroom and lie down? Come on.
Zende: Hey, Thomas, thanks.
Thomas: You don't have to thank me, we're cousins.
Phoebe: What about me?
Zende: Thanks, Phoebe. You, too, Steffy.
Thomas: He's cool.
Ridge: Yes, he is.
Brooke: Deacon, we can't go down this path. We both know that. You're married to Bridget, and you have to remain married to Bridget. We both know what we have to do.
Deacon: Yeah, I know what I have to do. I'm committed to Bridget. I betrayed her, twice, and I begged for her to take me back. And I'm not going to do that again. Brooke, what about you?
Brooke: Don't worry about me.
Deacon: What the hell does that mean? [Brooke sighs]
Brooke: It just means that --
Deacon: Brooke, you gotta be straight with me. I have to know that you're okay with this. And if you lie to me, I'm going to know.
Brooke: I just look back on my life and my track record in love, and it's sad. All those years of chasing after Ridge -- but you saw it as courageous. You just thought that I was loyal and determined. I followed my heart and I never gave up. And you were proud of me for that. And for the first time, I was proud of myself, too. You're the only man who ever really understood me and accepted me for who I am. Can I give that up? It's not gonna be easy. But, for my daughter, yes. Yes, I have to. And I will.
Deacon: What do you say we go back to L.A.?
Brooke: I can't go back to L.A. I still have issues to deal with.
Deacon: Issues? What issues?
Brooke: I can't talk about them right now.
Deacon: Brooke, you're gonna talk about 'em right now. No more secrets. Everything out on the table, right now.
Kristen: Are you feeling any better? Yeah? That was fun, though, wasn't it?
Zende: I like them.
Kristen: Aw. Well, they like you, too.
Zende: They're my family?
Kristen: That's right. Your cousins, your aunt, your uncle.
Zende: My family.
Kristen: I thank God every day for you.
Amber: Hey, Alex.
Alexandria: Hey.
Amber: Can I get a club soda?
Alexandria: Sure. I'll get that for you.
Amber: Thanks. Deacon, Deacon, Deacon -- you lied to your wife. You're not in Vegas. Where are you? And who are you with?
Deacon: What else is there to say? I know you love me. And you know I love you. But I gotta stay true to Bridget. Are you having trouble accepting that? Is that why you don't want to go back to L.A.?
Brooke: No, no, I have accepted that. There's nothing more important to me than Bridget.
Deacon: Brooke, then what is it?
Brooke: Deacon, you're gonna have to just trust me and don't ask me all these questions.
Deacon: Brooke, listen to me. This is very important. You and I are a team. And if we're gonna keep this secret from Bridget, then, you and I, we can't have any secrets. Please, tell me. What is it?
Brooke: Deacon, I'm sorry, but you're going to have to just respect my privacy. This isn't about you, this is about me. And it's something deeply personal.
Deacon: Brooke, you know everything about me. I've told you everything. I don't get this. What, are you afraid I'm going to judge you? I love you. I love everything about you. I would -- nothing you could say to me would change --
Brooke: You gotta believe me when I tell you this is for the best. The best for you, for me, for Bridget. [Knock at the door] Who is it?
Susan: It's me, ms. Logan. It's Susan.
Brooke: That's the concierge. You've got to go.
Deacon: Brooke?
Brooke: No. No more questions. Just do this for me. Just go and be well. I love you.
Brooke: Go out the terrace.
Susan: I wanted to bring this by.
Brooke: Oh, what is it?
Susan: Prenatal vitamins for your baby.
Brooke: Thank you.
Susan: You're welcome. I'll see you tomorrow.
Brooke: Okay.
Deacon: Vitamins for your baby? Oh, my God, you're pregnant.
