Stephanie: My goodness. I'm so sorry.

Massimo: Sorry? You're apologizing?

Stephanie: Well, yes, because I certainly don't want you to think -- I mean, mass, I -- look, I'm just really grateful for what you've done.

Massimo: Oh, I see. It was gratitude. That's what prompted the kiss.

Stephanie: Well, yes. Well, no, I didn't prompt it.

Massimo: Well, I certainly didn't. I mean, I was just overwhelmed by your passion.

Stephanie: Now, stop. Don't tease me. That makes me uncomfortable.

Massimo: Stephanie, there's no reason to feel guilty. It was a normal reaction. You're relieved.

Stephanie: I am relieved. I'm so relieved that Brooke is out of my life.

Massimo: That's not what I meant. The relief isn't that Brooke is gone. It's that I'm here. That finally there's someone in your life that you can count on. It's been some time since you can say that, right?

Stephanie: Now, mass, I know exactly how you feel about Eric, but that was absolutely unfair.

Massimo: What was fair about him leaving this entire load on your shoulders?

Stephanie: We have all been unsuccessful in trying to get Brooke out of our lives. But I must tell you, you have got to make a major adjustment in your attitude towards my husband.

Eric: Whenever would he have the time? When he's so busy working on you.

Stephanie: Eric, I -- I was just -- I was just telling Massimo how grateful I am for all of his help.

Eric: Yes, I saw you expressing your gratitude.

Stephanie: Please don't overreact to this.

Eric: How should I react when I come in here and I see my wife kissing another man?

Massimo: Now, that's a very interesting question. And who better qualified to answer than Stephanie, hmm? How did you react when you found out about his love affair with Beth Logan, hmm? And then her daughter Brooke and even one of your dear friends, Lauren Fenmore?

Stephanie: Well, please, let us not go there! Let's not even get into a discussion about this.

Massimo: I think we should. Apparently, dear Eric has forgotten all about it.

Rick: Anything good here? We got a jelly sandwich, we got some bananas. But listen, I want you to keep an eye out for Mommy for me, all right? She has something important to tell me. Did you get it?

Amber: No.

Rick: I'm gonna be a father!

Amber: Rick, I'm one day late. That doesn't mean that I'm pregnant.

Rick: Well, okay, then we'll take a test, all right. Do you have one?

Amber: Huh-uh.

Rick: All right, I'll go get one then.

Amber: Rick, you're gonna miss your class.

Rick: Do you think I could focus on western civ. Right now?

Amber: No, come on, don't be silly.

Rick: I'm just excited, Amber. Aren't you?

Amber: Yeah, of course I am.

Rick: You're scared.

Amber: No, I'm not scared.

Rick: No, it's okay. I mean, the first pregnancy was very difficult for you. You're probably remembering what you went through. But it's gonna be different this time. I'm gonna take such good care of you that the biggest stress in your life is going to be worrying about what flavor of ice cream you want.

Amber: I know, I know. You know, I would've given anything for it to be like this last time -- us together and married.

Rick: My mom out of town. Is this perfect timing or what?

Amber: Yeah. We don't even know if I'm pregnant or not.

Rick: All right, well, I tell you what. You guys pick up a test while I go to class, and we'll find out when I get home, okay?

Amber: Okay.

Rick: All right. Your daddy is a stud, little man. You know that?

Deacon: Thanks, Andrew.

Alexandra: Deacon, yo.

Deacon: What?

Alexandra: What are you doing?

Deacon: I'm stocking the bar, Alex.

Alexandra: With empties? You are so absent-minded today.

Deacon: Hey, look, let me ask you something.

Alexandra: Yeah?

Deacon: Give me a second. Okay --

Alexandra: What is it, Deacon?

Deacon: Hang on. If -- okay, if you think you're pregnant, right, how long do you have to wait before you know for sure?

Alexandra: Oh, my God. Please tell me you did not get that poor little girl knocked up.

Deacon: No.

Alexandra: I thought Bridget was on the pill.

Deacon: She is, all right? Just answer the question for me.

Alexandra: It depends. I mean, it's whenever you miss your period, or a couple weeks after. Sometimes more, sometimes less. Why?

Deacon: It just doesn't matter.

Alexandra: Who are we talking about, Deacon?

Deacon: Nobody.

Alexandra: It's Amber, right? Amber might be pregnant. Oh, boy. So, what? Amber and Ricky just got a little carried away?

Deacon: Oh, no, no. They've been "trying."

Alexandra: Are you serious? They're both so young.

Deacon: Tell me about it. I mean, this is so stupid to try and do this now. I don't get it.

Alexandra: So why are they?

Deacon: What do you think? Rick's genius idea.

Alexandra: You think he knows?

Deacon: Knows what?

Alexandra: About you and Amber.

Deacon: There is no me and Amber.

Alexandra: Right.

Deacon: No, whoa, whoa, whoa, stop. What is that supposed to mean?

Alexandra: Maybe you can fool your wife. But I know you.

Deacon: Alex, I'm -- I'm goin' out of my head here.

Alexandra: Mm-hmm.

Deacon: What the hell am I supposed to do?

Alexandra: A few months ago, you said you were ready to move on.

Deacon: You're right, you're right. I did, and I was trying to. I mean, Bridget's great. She's everything -- she's everything that I always wanted in a woman and I just thought that I would never get.

Alexandra: She's crazy about you, too.

Deacon: I know, I know. I can't believe it. I mean, after all the crap I pulled. I mean, this is real love. You know, I could probably spend the rest of my life looking for someone like that, and I'd never find it.

Alexandra: That's true of Amber, too.

Deacon: No, Amber is a nut case! She doesn't know what the hell she wants. One minute she's kissing me, the next minute --

Alexandra: She kissed you?

Deacon: The kid was sick, and we were both scared, and it was a weird thing.

Alexandra: Oh, yeah, yeah, that always makes me horny.

Deacon: That's what I'm talking about. She's a nut job! And on the other hand, Bridget is fantastic. I mean, this kid is going places. And it's not just 'cause of the Forrester name. I mean, she's smart. She could do anything she wants.

Alexandra: Except for one thing. She can't make her husband fall in love with her.

Deacon: Yeah, I am in love with her. I am in love with her. Alex, when I think about hurting her, I get like this knot in the pit of my stomach. I've never felt anything like that. Not for anyone except my son.

Alexandra: So, you think of Bridget as a child.

Deacon: Whoa. Just -- you're twisting my words, all right. I love my wife.

Alexandra: Then what's the problem if Amber's such a head case, and Bridget's so perfect for you? Deacon, Deacon, love isn't logical. It'd be great if we all felt the way that we're supposed to, but it doesn't always work out that way.

Deacon: You been through this before?

Alexandra: Oh, yeah.

Deacon: I mean, how do you get past it? How do you -- how do you cut somebody out of your heart?

Ginger: Speedy delivery.

Amber: Thank you.

Ginger: Hey, where's my tip? Hi, munchkin.

Amber: Hey, buddy. Hey, do you want to go show ginger your new book, huh? Do you? Yeah? Your new book's in there. Why don't you go get it.

Ginger: Go ahead, take the test. I'll watch him.

Amber: Oh, no, no, no. That's okay.

Ginger: Wait, you had me race out to get this pregnancy test so you could not take it?

Amber: Well, Rick's at class and he wants me to wait until he gets home so we can do it together.

Ginger: Ooh, exciting, huh?

Amber: Yeah.

Ginger: Or not?

Amber: It's just -- it's all happening so fast. I haven't even gotten used to the idea of it yet.

Ginger: What, the idea of having another baby, or the idea of not having Deacon ever? Oh, you poor kid.

Amber: No, I am not poor. I am lucky. I am married to a wonderful man, and he loves me.

Ginger: Well, it's a good gig.

Amber: You don't understand. I used to pray for this, this exact life. When Rick and I were married before and he wanted out, I was so scared and insecure. And I used to say to myself, if he could just love me -- if he could just love me for who I am, then everything would be perfect.

Ginger: Well, now he does, and you want out.

Amber: No. No, I don't. I'd have to be crazy. God, what's wrong with me, ginger?

Ginger: Well, maybe it's one of those things, you know? Wanting what you can't have?

Amber: So you're telling me that I'm doomed to be tormented. Thank you, ginger. That makes me feel really good.

Ginger: Well, it's better than the alternative, isn't it?

Amber: What alternative?

Ginger: That you're really in love with Deacon. And you'll never be happy without him.

Eric: Where do you get off --

Stephanie: Oh, stop it. Just stop. I don't want a lot of old history dragged up. I am sorry. The kiss was a mistake.

Eric: The mistake is letting him back into your life. And it ends right now!

Stephanie: He happens to be a good friend of mine.

Eric: A friend who's out to sabotage our marriage!

Stephanie: I think he was reminding you that you were just being a tad hypocritical. Not that that is any excuse for my behavior. I am sorry. I apologize. But could we just take a moment, please, and realize that something wonderful's happened? Brooke is gone, Eric. She's out of our lives.

Eric: Oh, and that's all because of your good old friend Massimo, isn't it?

Stephanie: That's right.

Eric: And I've been wondering all this time why you were going to so much effort. Suddenly, it all becomes clear.

Massimo: I have been wondering why you didn't make the effort. And I am still at a loss.

Stephanie: You're wrong.

Eric: Stephanie, stop!

Stephanie: No, he's wrong, because Eric has done the very best he could to get rid of Brooke.

Eric: Stephanie, I don't have to defend myself to this man.

Massimo: Why bother when the evidence speaks for itself? I have accomplished in one week what you have failed to do for years. And what baffles me, what I don't understand, is how you can allow a vicious parasite like Brooke Logan to feast on your family. You have resources. You have connections. Why didn't you use them?!

Stephanie: Oh, stop it, Massimo! I don't hold Eric responsible for Brooke's actions!

Massimo: Of course not. You don't hold him responsible for his own actions. How lovely to be you, Eric. Sitting in your pretty office all day drawing pretty clothes, and leaving the running of your family to someone else.

Eric: Stephanie, leave us alone.

Stephanie: Not in your life.

Massimo: It's all right, Stephanie. If the way he handled Brooke is any indication, I'm sure I'll be fine.

Stephanie: Go ahead. Act like children.

Eric: Who do you think you are?

Massimo: That's easy. The man she should have married.

Amber: You know what it is? You know what it is? I'm just creating a crisis. I haven't had enough drama in my life. When I lived with Deacon, I didn't want him. And if I got him back, I know he'd make me crazy.

Ginger: Crazier. You know what? You should just take the test.

Amber: Rick wants me to wait for him.

Ginger: Well, I got you two of them, and Rick doesn't have to know you did it without him. You're making yourself loony tunes. If you're pregnant, you don't have to worry about it any more. I mean, the decision's made for you, right? [Knock on window]

Amber: Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Put them away. Put them away somewhere! Hi.

Deacon: Hey, there is. Come here, kiddo. Oh, you are getting so big. I can't even lift you anymore.

Amber: Ah, so what's up with you?

Deacon: You know, I was just in the neighborhood. Why? What's -- what's up with you? Anything new?

ginger: You know, I can see the resemblance.

Deacon: Yeah? I guess he is a handsome devil at that.

Ginger: Definitely. I should get going. Let me know how it turns out.

Amber: Okay, yeah. Thank you. See ya, ginger.

Deacon: What was that all about?

Amber: What?

Deacon: Well, she said, "let me know how it turns out."

Amber: Yeah, Rick and I, we have some plans later, and she was just helping me get it all together.

Deacon: You got plans? Plans, huh? Are you trying to make me nuts?

Amber: I'm trying to get you to back off, okay. It's hard enough as is.

Deacon: Amber, what is going on with you? Please, tell me.

Amber: Nothing you need to worry about. [Phone rings] gosh, honey, will you take this in the other room? You know where it goes, right? Go in the other room with that? Hello?

Rick: Hey, it's me.

Amber: Hi, sweetie.

Rick: Did you get the test?

Amber: Sure did.

Rick: Great. Well, I'm going into class right now, and then I have to give Bridget a ride because her car broke down. Is that okay? Can you wait that long?

Amber: Yeah, of course I can.

Rick: Oh, this is so cool, Amber. Another baby. I love you.

Amber: Love you, too.

Deacon: What're you gonna do with this? Oh, my God. You're pregnant, aren't you?

Amber: I don't know if I'm pregnant. That's kind of the reason for the test.

Deacon: Well, why don't you take it?

Amber: I am not taking it now.

Deacon: Oh, yes, you are.

Amber: No, Rick wants me to wait until he gets back.

Deacon: Amber, you're nuts if you think I'm leaving here without knowing.

Amber: It doesn't matter anyway.

Deacon: It matters to me. Please, take it.

Eric: Is that what this is all about, Marone? Are you trying to prove to Stephanie that she chose wrong when she choose me?

Massimo: In point of fact, she never chose you. She got pregnant by you. Another example of your irresponsibility.

Eric: I took responsibility.

Massimo: Mm-hmm, and you made her suffer for it. Living the life of a martyr for years, trapped in a marriage that you never wanted.

Eric: And how is it you came by this information?

Massimo: Your wife, naturally. We happened to be very close confidantes during all that time. I know more about how she felt than you did, that's for sure. It isn't that she complained. But, you see, it wasn't very difficult to read between the lines. All her letters had the same theme. "Oh, he's doing the best he can."

Eric: I made mistakes in my marriage. I don't deny that. I don't deny that at all. But if you're trying to use that against me, it's a little bit late. We've worked through all of that!

Massimo: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I've heard about your epiphany, your realization that you can't live without her. That's very touching.

Eric: Look, my point is you're wasting your time.

Massimo: Look who's talking about wasting time. She gave up part of her life to build you a company, a family, a name. And then she watched you squander it on a trollop half your age. She's still fighting your battles, and you're still hiding behind her skirts! Gee, is it any wonder that she turned to me?

Eric: She didn't turn to you. You forced yourself on her.

Massimo: Is that what it looked like while you were peeking through the door, hmm? Let reassure you, that kiss was not forced. I'm just sorry you turned up when you did. Who knows where our passion could have taken us? [Glass shattering]

Eric: You stay away from my wife.

Massimo: What if she doesn't want me to?

Eric: You were right before. I do have resources, and I will not hesitate to use them against you.

Massimo: Oh, I see. When it comes to your interests, you're a gladiator. But when it comes to Stephanie's interests, you're a pacifist. Poor woman.

Eric: You get out of here.

Massimo: I'll be back. Your wife will invite me.

Deacon: What the hell did it say? Are you pregnant? Can you reach it?
