Griffin: If you don't leave, I'm calling the cops.

David: Tell me!

Griffin: You son of a bitch!

Cara: Stop! Yes, I had an abortion!

David: You killed our baby?

Cara: You shot JR at point-blank range. You told the police you were sorry he wasn't dead. How could anyone want a child of yours after that?

JR: Who shot me, Mom?

[Monitor beeping]

Dixie: Maybe I should, uh, get the doctor, okay? [Sniffles]

JR: Why do you need a doctor to tell me who shot me?

Dixie: I just think it would be better if she were here right now, okay? Just give me a second. Excuse me. Um, would you ask a nurse to please find Dr. Hubbard right away? Thank you.

AJ: Are you ready for me to whup your ass at "War Demons"?

Miranda: You are the greatest friend I'll ever have. Now prepare to die.

AJ: All right. Thank you.

Miranda: [Chuckles]

Zach: I meant to call you. Sorry, I got all caught up on the project.

Bianca: It's okay. I just assumed you were busy.

Zach: You look troubled. What's going on?

Bianca: It's Miranda. I need your help with her.

Zach: Sure. Do me a favor, sit down. I got to make one phone call.

Bianca: Okay.

Cassandra: [Whimpering]

Vlad: All healed up. No marks or bruises, just like you asked.

Uri: Good for her... and you.

Cassandra: What do you want from me?!

Uri: Relax, Cassandra. No one wants to hurt you.

Cassandra: Please, just let me go!

Uri: Come. Sit down. You are shaking.

Cassandra: Please, I promise I won't tell anyone I was here.

Uri: I am going to get you some more of those pills, help you relax.

Cassandra: I don't want any more pills!

Uri: You will need them when you get up on stage. Such... beautiful girl.

Cassandra: [Whimpers]

Uri: Men are going to go wild over you.

Cassandra: [Groans] Don't touch me!

Uri: This attitude won't help. You need to know how to perform and -- and be really nice... to customer.

Angie: What do you mean, you don't know what happened to Cassie? Megan said you were the one who bought the ticket for her?

Jesse: I did!

Angie: Then where is she?

Jesse: [Sighs] She's missing, Angela.

Angie: Missing?! What -- y-y-you mean as in she never got on the plane?

Jesse: Well, I checked with the airline, and her boarding pass was scanned.

Angie: So what happened? Did the plane get stuck somewhere?

Jesse: No, she made it here to Pine Valley. I just have not heard from her since.

Angie: What happened to her?

Jesse: Angela --

Angie: Just tell me, Jesse!

Jesse: [Sighs] She's been taken.

Angie: [Gasps]

David: How could you punish an innocent child for my sins?

[Pager beeps]

Cara: I'm fine.

Griffin: If you touch her... I'll kill you.

David: I thought I loved you.

Cara: [Voice breaking] I thought we were going to be happy. You, me, and the baby. But when you shot JR, I realized you were not the man that I thought you were. And I knew any child of yours would be connected to your crimes forever, and I couldn't let that happen. I could not let our child grow up with a murderer for a father.

Zach: So these kids thought, because you're a lesbian that --

Bianca: That Miranda must be gay, too.

Zach: [Groans]

Bianca: Yeah. She was humiliated, devastated.

Zach: So, who is this guy, the -- the kid? The ringleader? Maybe I should have a chat with him?

Bianca: No. You roughing him up is not gonna help Miranda. If anything, it'll just make her feel worse. [Sighs]

Zach: There are some ignorant people out there.

Bianca: Yes, there are. God, I didn't think anything could be worse than when I came out. But seeing your own kid hurting because of who you are? I keep telling myself, as hard as it is for Miranda now, with a mother who's a lesbian, at least they're not going after her for who her father was.

Zach: 'Cause they don't know.

Bianca: Because of that gag order that you and my mom worked so hard to get. But with the Internet... there are no secrets. I dread the day Miranda finds out.

Zach: What my brother did to you... [Sighs] but for Miranda to discover that she is the product of rape...

Bianca: It would destroy her.

Miranda: Yes! In your face!

AJ: Come on, one more. If you kick my ass again, then you'll be official champion.

Miranda: Oh, but wait. I already am official champion. I think I'm going to enjoy the title for a while. Besides, it's late, and you have got practice in the morning.

AJ: [Scoffs] Yeah. [Sighs]

Miranda: What's up? You're not mad I beat you?

AJ: No. Um... I just -- I remember when I got this. It was the first game my dad ever took me to. [Scoffs] It was a great day. I remember he was so excited to teach me about the game. And I was so excited to learn, 'cause I saw how happy it made him. [Chuckles] Yeah. It was a great day.

Miranda: Well, maybe you can take it with you next time you visit him. I know that's where you went when you said you were going on the coffee run.

AJ: I had to pick up medical release forms.

Miranda: It's okay, AJ! He's your dad. You want him in your life. Hell, I don't even have a dad, and I still miss having one around.

AJ: You know because of my dad, our family was blown apart. You, me, your mom, and Marissa.

Miranda: I know. I hate what happened, too. We were really happy back then. But, look, we can't change it, and at least you still have a dad.

AJ: Yeah, I'm not so sure.

Miranda: Come on!

AJ: I'm serious. The guy's been in a coma for five years, and every time I go and visit him, I don't think about what it'd be like if he wakes up. I think about how I wish it'd been different before... when he was awake.

Dixie: I still don't understand why you're here and not Dr. Hubbard.

Griffin: She couldn't be reached. Don't worry. I've been kept abreast of your son's condition since he was brought in.

Dixie: I'm sorry. I didn't mean to offend.

Griffin: You didn't. JR, can you tell me the last thing you remember before you lost consciousness?

JR: Um... Marissa? Yeah, she, um, wanted me to do something. I-I-I-I don't remember what. You know, I-I -- she was angry with me, you know, 'cause I didn't do it. Is she still angry with me? Is that why she's not here?

Dixie: Just don't stress yourself trying to remember.

JR: You know, I just -- I just -- [Sighs] I just want to know where I stand with people. You know, hell -- I don't even know why I'm in here. And why you won't tell me!

Griffin: JR, because we don't know if the root of you blocking out this memory is psychological or physical, we should wait till we get back the results of the tests Dr. Hubbard had requested. We should get them any minute now.

JR: These results are gonna tell me why I don't remember and when I can expect to?

Griffin: That is what we're hoping.

[Monitor beeping]

JR: [Sighs]

Angie: What do you mean she was taken?

Jesse: [Sighs]

Angie: What -- you don't -- you don't mean... She was kidnapped?!

Jesse: In a way, yes.

Angie: But why would you think that?

Jesse: Because all the clues are pointing in that direction, baby.

Angie: Okay. So then what's the problem? I mean, give the person who took her whatever they want! Get the cash out of our retirement...

Jesse: Baby --

Angie: Our pension -- I don't care!

Jesse: Baby, baby!

Angie: What did the ransom note say?! How much are they asking for?

Jesse: There was no ransom note.

Angie: What do you mean, there was no ransom note?! Kidnappers don't just take someone unless they expect something in return!

Jesse: Well, this is not your typical kidnapping.

Angie: You're confusing me. Look, just tell me who took her. Does she know them? Do we?

Jesse: Well, this is what we're trying to find out.

Angie: "We"?

Jesse: Zach and me.

Angie: What -- the Pine Valley Police can't handle it?

Jesse: [Voice breaking] This looks like a pretty big operation.

Angie: What does that mean?! Please, Jesse! Just tell me what's going on! Who took my daughter?

Jesse: Baby... [Sighs] Zach and I are afraid that Cassandra was taken by... sex traffickers.

Angie: [Gasps] Oh! Oh, you can't do this! No! No, no! Oh, my God! Oh, my God!

Cassandra: I'm not the kind of girl you want for this.

Uri: You're perfect.

Cassandra: I don't know how to perform. My parents -- they were, uh -- they were really strict. I wasn't even allowed to date until I was 16! I can't do what you want! I don't have a lot of experience!

Uri: Are you trying to tell me you virgin?

Cassandra: [Nods]

Uri: Hard to believe at your age, and I doubt it's true, but... maybe we can sell it. Men pay a lot more for pleasure of first time.

David: You have no idea what you've done.

Cara: I know exactly what I've done. I've stopped your dark and twisted legacy for good.

David: What happened to you? How did you become so cold, so callous, that you could just throw away your own baby?

Cara: If I had to do it all over again... I would do exactly the same thing.

David: I don't even know you.

Cara: Well, I don't want to know you, okay? Not anymore. So why are you back here in Pine Valley, huh?

David: Oh, my God.

Cara: Because everybody was finally getting past everything that happened. And you come back here, and you open up all these wounds.

David: What about my wounds, huh?! I lost everything! There's not a day that goes by that I don't miss my daughter!

Cara: You shot her!

David: Because of JR! I was trying to stop him from hurting a roomful of people!

Cara: [Laughs] So that makes you the hero?

David: Oh, come on! You know that's true. Everyone does! I mean, it all comes back to JR. Because of that bastard, my daughter is dead. And because of that bastard, you aborted our baby.

Cara: JR had nothing to do with it. I aborted our child because of you!

JR: [Grunts]

Intern: We're doing some blood work. I'll have him back shortly.

Dixie: Thank you.

JR: No, thank you... for being here. I know I don't remember everything, but I know what's important... like you.

Dixie: Oh, my baby. [Laughs]

Bianca: I'm thinking I should tell her before she has to hear it from someone who's trying to hurt her.

Zach: Maybe we should tell her together.

Bianca: Yeah, I might just take you up on that.

Zach: Good.

[Cell phone chimes]

Zach: [Groans] All day. I'm sorry. I got to go.

Bianca: It's okay. Thank you for listening.

Zach: I meant what I said. Call me when you're ready.

Bianca: Okay. I will.

Zach: Kiss the girls for me.

Bianca: [Sighs]

Miranda: Tonight was -- I'll never forget it.

AJ: Yeah, it turned out okay.

Miranda: "Okay"? It -- it turned out amazing! Uh, I wish -- I wish I knew what to tell you about your dad.

AJ: You know, there's nothing to say.

Miranda: AJ, he's still alive, which means you still have a chance to make things right with him.

AJ: Yeah, I guess.

Miranda: Just remember -- no matter what -- you've got me, and I've got you. That'll never change.

AJ: Later?

Miranda: Okay.

[Slow music playing]

Uri: Begin.

Cassandra: I told you. I don't know how.

Uri: You will learn. One piece at a time. You are only making this harder for yourself.

Cassandra: I can't!

Uri: Do it!

Cassandra: [Whimpers] [Crying]

Uri: Is that all you can do, you are no good to me.

Cassandra: You're just wasting your time. Please, just let me go!

Uri: You're not going anywhere! Now again! With feeling. [Pours liquor]

Cassandra: [Crying]

Uri: Drink this. It'll help loosen you up.

Cassandra: I don't want it! No! [Choking]

Uri: Now move!

Cassandra: [Crying]

[Music continues]

Angie: My baby! My baby! We have to find her.

Jesse: Zach and I, we're following every single lead that we have, baby.

Angie: Do you have any idea where she is?

Jesse: No, not yet. But I've called in the FBI, ICE, and I've got people looking for her everywhere -- in every airport, every terminal.

Officer: Mr. Hubbard, that girl you brought in? She's waking up.

Angie: What girl?

Jesse: I'll explain later.

Angie: Is she connected to Cassie? Does she know her?

Jesse: I want to find this out, baby, okay? Can you -- can you just wait for me right here? I'll be right back.

Cara: [Crying]

[Door opens]

Griffin: What -- did you think I was David?

Cara: No, I don't think he's gonna be coming anywhere near me, not after I admitted to the abortion.

Griffin: I'm glad you stuck to the lie.

Cara: Well, I knew he wasn't going to let up if I didn't, so if that's what I needed to do, so be it.

Griffin: So, does this mean you won't be sticking around Pine Valley any longer?

Cara: Um... I promised Mackenzie that I'd see her through the chemo, so... once she's in the clear... then I'll go.

Griffin: You did the right thing.

Cara: I know I did.

Griffin: So, since you will be sticking around, would you mind helping me with another patient -- JR Chandler?

Cara: Yeah! Yeah. I've, uh, checked in on him a few times. What's going on?

Griffin: He came out of his coma.

Cara: Really?

Griffin: [Chuckles]

Cara: David said he thought he was coming out of his coma, and nobody believed him.

Griffin: For once, David hasn't lied.

Cara: So, JR. How is he doing? How is his memory? Is he coherent?

Griffin: He's pretty good, except for the night of the shooting. As far as that goes, he's drawing a blank.

Cara: Okay, that's not unusual for patients to block out a traumatic event.

Griffin: Would you mind looking at some results of the tests Angie had run?

Cara: Uh, thanks. Um... has she seen these yet?

Griffin: I can't find her. I've texted her, called her. She's not responded.

Cara: Well, that's not like her at all.

Griffin: Unh-unh.

[Up-tempo music playing]

Zach: [Grunts]

Man: Hey, watch it!

Zach: [Slurring] I don't want any trouble. Sorry.

Man: Wait your turn like the rest of us.

Zach: I know. I'm sorry.

Man: Maybe you left it in the car?

Man: No, it was right here.

Man: Was that before or after we did those shots?

Man: Can't get in without the bar code.

Zach: Uh, is this it right here?

Man: Oh, yeah. Thanks, man!

Zach: Uh, okay. Have fun in there.

Man: [Chuckles]

[Music continues]

Angie: Was she taken by the sex traffickers, too?

Jesse: Baby, you need to let me do my job.

Angie: No, I want to talk to talk to her, too! I need to know if she's seen Cassie!

Jesse: Angela, please. This girl was barely conscious when we found her. I don't want to overwhelm her with too many people in the room. I need her to feel safe with me, so she will open up, let me know what happened, okay? Nobody comes in until I say so.

[Door closes]

Jesse: Hey, there. Remember me? I-I-I'm the guy that brought you here, okay? My name is Jesse Hubbard. I'm the chief of police here in Pine Valley, and I want to help you. Can you tell me who did this to you?

Amy: I don't...

Jesse: Take your time, sweetheart. It's okay. It's okay!

[Slow music playing]

Cassandra: [Crying]

Uri: See how much easier it is when you stop fighting? Blouse. Take it off.

Cassandra: [Crying] Please. Please don't make me.

Uri: Do it.

Cassandra: [Crying] Please! I just want to go home!

Uri: Can't go home now, sweet girl. It's time to go to work.

Cassandra: [Crying] No.

Angie: Look, I am a doctor. And that girl needs to be examined.

Officer: Chief Hubbard said no one was allowed.

Jesse: I'll take it from here.

Angie: What did she say?

Jesse: [Sighs] She is so out of it, she could barely look at me, much less answer questions.

Angie: Jesse, we don't have time to wait! She has to tell us where Cassandra is now!

Jesse: Angela, please.

[Door opens]

Angie: [Crying]

Dixie: I just got your text that the test results are in.

Griffin: Your son is suffering from what we call retrograde amnesia.

Dixie: Tell me what that means.

Cara: The bullet affected the part of JR's brain that allows him to store recent memories as opposed to those in his more distant past.

Griffin: Which would explain why he would remember you but not the shooting or events surrounding it.

Dixie: But he will remember eventually, won't he?

Cara: Well, we hope so. But you need to prepare yourself. People who suffer from type type of amnesia often experience dramatic personality changes.

Dixie: How dramatic?

Griffin: Well, very often, the patient can exhibit traits or behaviors that are quite different from what he would have shown before the coma.

JR: Hello.

AJ: Hi.

JR: Can I help you?

AJ: You don't -- you don't know who I am, do you?
