Tad: I know it's no longer my business, ok, but I'm worried. So I'm gonna chase you till I get an answer. Please, please, tell me that this thing you've got going with David Hayward, whatever it is, is just professional.
Cara: I can't.
Tad: Why not?
Cara: Because I slept with him. And it's not something that I would like to advertise, ok? And I don't want to do anything that could get me deported, so could we, you know --
Tad: Look, there is so much more at stake here than just your green card.
Cara: All right. Well, you can't tell me what to do.
Tad: I can sure as hell try, because I'm still your husband.
Dixie: You looking for something?
J.R.: I'm expecting a delivery.
Dixie: From the liquor store?
J.R.: Why can't you believe that I've changed? I'm gonna prove to Marissa that I'm worthy of winning my son back.
Dixie: But it's got to be for real. You have to mean it, J.R. It can't just be for show.
Marissa: I still can't believe I won custody. And right now, I just feel so lucky and happy. I mean, I have my son. Being with you last night -- wow. That was so --
Bianca: Special.
Erica: Bonjour!
Bianca: Mom! You're back from Paris?
Erica: Yes. I just got off the plane, and I can't wait to hear everything that I missed.
Greenlee: I hope this means we're going someplace fun.
Ryan: Ha ha. That sounds good, but unfortunately no. Sorry.
Greenlee: What, business? Since when?
Ryan: It just came up. How's Zach? Is he still cheering for Hayward?
Greenlee: He's not changing his mind, and Kendall's right there with him, but it's not bringing them any closer.
Ryan: You see? That's Hayward right there. He gives you life, and then he takes away any chance you could possibly have at being happy. I will call you from the airport, ok?
Greenlee: Hey. This isn't a business trip, is it? It's about David.
Griffin: If you're not willing to --
Kendall: Griffin, please. Please, just leave it alone.
Griffin: Listen. As my friend, you and Zach have gotten close to David. I need you to use that leverage to keep him away from my sister.
Kendall: Just trust me, ok? Please. It's all gonna work out.
David: From the looks of it, he's still in love with her.
J.R.: When you were ready to risk your life to take a drink every time I did, something clicked inside me. I just realized -- realized how much you care about me.
Dixie: Baby, I've always cared about you. Always. I'm just worried that you don't care about yourself.
J.R.: I'm on my way back, Mom. And I'm gonna prove that to Marissa and you -- and everyone else, for that matter.
Dixie: Ok. Just make sure that you prove it to the judge -- one you don't try to bribe this time.
J.R.: Lesson learned, ok? I'm taking care of business the right way now.
Dixie: Speaking of business, I heard you on the phone with Chandler Enterprises with the board. That did not sound good.
J.R.: Yeah. I've let a few things slide. But I'm gonna turn it around. That's my plan. You'll see.
[Doorbell rings]
J.R.: Hmm. That's probably that package I'm expecting. I'll see you around?
Dixie: Yes.
J.R.: Ok.
Courier: Hello, sir.
J.R.: Hi.
Courier: Thank you.
J.R.: Thank you. Oh, yeah. Plenty of time to turn it around, Marissa. Plenty of time.
Opal: Oh, my Lord, it's good to see you back! You're back, my best gal pal, in your little French frock! Oh, here I am in my apron! I was just about to swim over there and rescue you from the clutches of those fancy Frenchmen.
Erica: Oh, Opal, I only had eyes for one man.
Opal: I'm so glad to hear that. You keep it that way, all right? Come on, tell me everything.
Bianca: Maybe you guys could get together later and talk about it.
Erica: I want to. I have so many stories to tell you. Oh, Paris was fantastic. Paris just welcomed me back with open arms.
Opal: Well, why wouldn't it?
Erica: But then, of course, Jack had to come back on business, so I decided I would rush back to be with my girls! And especially now that Zach is back, I mean, Kendall must be over the moon.
Bianca: She is. But, actually, so am I.
Erica: Oh, of course, you are, and we all are. I was finally able to put the nightmare of the past two months behind me, and then Jack and I fell in love again.
Opal: Oh, be still, my heart! Look at that one!
Marissa: Actually, Bianca's life is turned all around, too.
Erica: Oh, and I want to hear all about it. But first, I've got to see Zach. I've got to go and see Zach. Oh. But before I forget -- I couldn't resist.
Opal: Oh, thank you!
Erica: These were just too beautiful.
Opal: I can't wait! Ohh! Would you at look at that, straight off the Paris runway? I feel like a million bucks, and I bet that's what this thing cost, too! Ha ha ha! I got to try it on here.
Marissa: Wow. It's really -- it's so pretty. I know exactly what you can wear it with, too. It's gonna look great.
Bianca: Yeah, I -- my mom always knows just what to buy. I just -- I wish she knew what I really wanted her to give.
Griffin: You're asking me to trust you when you're backing David, the man who's using my sister.
Kendall: I need to support Zach.
Griffin: Even if what he wants is crazy?
Kendall: I need you to not fight me on this.
Griffin: You're not asking me for a lot, are you?
Kendall: Griffin, it's because you're my friend. You are a man that I would trust with my life. Please.
David: It looks pretty obvious. The guy's got it bad.
Kendall: What are you doing out of bed? You, of all people, should know better than that. Come on. Rest and get back --
Zach: Castillo seemed a little upset.
Kendall: He's worried about his sister.
David: He doesn't have to worry about Cara. Unlike her brother, she has the courage to take on Project Orpheus. You can't play both sides.
Ryan: We're all grateful that David saved Zach, right, but he may be involved in the plane going down in the first place. Don't you see that?
Greenlee: But if you start digging into this --
Ryan: If I start digging into it, I might find enough evidence that can put the bastard away for good.
Greenlee: I really don't want you to do this.
Ryan: What's going on? It's like you're afraid to find out the answers -- you and the rest of this town. This is exactly what David Hayward wants. You're playing right into his hand.
Cara: You can't tell me not to see David. Yes, you are my husband on paper, not in your heart. Oh, come on. Ever since Dixie came back, everything has changed. I don't owe you an explanation, Tad, and I don't owe you an apology.
Tad: You can't just walk away.
David: Back off, Tad. Unless you want the whole world to know that your marriage is a sham.
Tad: You told him about our marriage? You put your safety, your life, in his hands?
David: The only one jeopardizing Cara right now is you.
Tad: Both Dixie and I are putting Cara's safety before everything.
David: Except for your feelings about Dixie.
Tad: My feelings for Dixie have nothing to do with this. She's living with J.R. so we can maintain the semblance of being husband and wife.
David: That's wonderful. And how's that working for you, Cara? Wow. You're quite the hero, Tad.
Tad: Everybody's doing the best they can except you -- back to your same old tricks. You'd put her at risk just to put another notch in your belt.
Cara: Tad.
David: That's ridiculous. I'm not doing anything to harm her. I not only value Cara as a doctor in my research, but I respect her greatly as a woman.
Tad: What about all the other women you respected, whose lives you ruined?
David: You know something? Where Cara is concerned, I'm very happy that I've had a chance to get to know her, and I hope you feel the same way. But no one has to know about this, Tad. That is, unless, of course, you feel compelled to broadcast it to your fan base. Then I guess we'll see who really cares about your "wife."
David: I know. Go ahead. Say it. You don't need me to fight your battles, right?
Cara: No, I don't. And just for the record, you don't score points with me by putting Tad down.
Ryan: The only way that Hayward can come between us is if we let him.
Greenlee: Which is why I want you to stay away from all this.
Ryan: Aren't you still angry that he tried to make you believe that Leo was alive?
Greenlee: I made it clear to him that even if Leo were to come back, my heart is with you.
Ryan: I know that, and now David knows it, too.
David's Voice: There was a time when people thought that Ryan would never get over losing Gillian. Who knows? Maybe he never has.
Greenlee: You don't have Gillian.
David: You sure about that?
Ryan: Greenlee? Are you ok?
[Doorbell rings]
Griffin: Hey. Listen, we got to nail him, whatever we have to do. We cannot let that son of a bitch take down my sister.
Erica: So it's true? You're alive!
Zach: Appears that way.
Erica: Until now, seeing you with my own eyes -- it's like a dream come true for both of you.
Bianca: She's changed a lot since that ordeal with Jane.
Marissa: I don't know. That would've traumatized anyone.
Bianca: You're right. It just feels like she's become more Erica Kane and less Mom.
Marissa: Ok. I mean, you know her better than I do, but hasn't she always been very aware of herself?
Bianca: Yes. True. Yeah, but then someone else became her, and we didn't even realize it, her own daughters. And I don't know. You just saw her. She didn't even have the time to stop and let me tell her about the most incredible thing that's happened in my life: You. You happened.
Dixie: I am going for a swim -- the doctor calls it hydrotherapy.
J.R.: Ok.
Dixie: Baby, I know I've been a little hard on you, but I want you to know that I believe in you. Ok? I know you can turn this around.
J.R.: That means a lot to me.
[Door closes]
J.R.: I wonder what the judge will say when he finds out you and your girlfriend made a sex tape.
Erica: May I?
Zach: Knock yourself out.
Erica: It is really you. I -- you can't blame me for being hesitant.
Kendall: Mom, it's definitely him.
Erica: Listen, I want to hear all about it, how you survived, how that was even possible.
Zach: David Hayward deserves all the credit.
Erica: What?
Zach: And not only does he deserve all the credit, we're gonna back him 100%.
Griffin: So not only has Cara agreed to work with David, he's manipulating her.
Ryan: That's what David does. Am I right?
Greenlee: Yeah. I know what David does, but you have to be smart about it. He's expecting you to come down on Cara, which will only push her closer to him. So just back off a little bit.
Griffin: I can't do that.
Ryan: Griffin, wait one second. I know you don't want me to do this, but the man has to be stopped.
Marissa: Mind if I borrow my computer for a second?
A.J.: For what?
Marissa: Can you keep a secret? Ok. I'll show you. Look over here.
A.J.: It's a house.
Marissa: Yes. Hee hee!
Bianca: I was just wondering if Krystal ever posts real estate listings on her bulletin board?
Opal: Oh. You mean like some sweet house that'd be perfect for a young couple with 3 kids?
Bianca: Maybe. I don't know if Marissa's ready for that kind of commitment yet, obviously, but I want to know what's available.
Opal: I'm thinking maybe the two of you should go for a nice little walk.
Bianca: A walk?
Opal: Yeah. They got some real pretty houses for sale over by the park.
Bianca: That is perfect. Thank you. Thank you. Uh, hey.
Marissa: Hi.
Bianca: Do you want to go for a walk?
Opal: And how about you, Mister? Care to join me in the kitchen? We'll raid the cookie jar.
A.J.: Ok.
Opal: All right! Come on.
Marissa: Ok. I guess we're walking, then.
Bianca: Ok. Mm-hmm.
Marissa: Why, thank you.
Bianca: You're welcome. Oh, after you.
Liza: I'm sorry about how your custody hearing went down, but you sabotaged your own case. You realize that now, don't you?
J.R.: It ain't over till it's over.
Opal: J.R. Uh, listen, I know that you're mad. But if you're looking for trouble, you're looking at her.
J.R.: No trouble, Opal. I just -- I bought A.J. some new video games.
Opal: I'd be happy to give that to A.J., but I think it would be best if you'd make yourself scarce around here right now.
J.R.: Ok. I'm sorry that I upset A.J. I miss him a lot.
Opal: No matter what he says, I know he misses his daddy, too.
J.R.: I'm just gonna upload one of the new games into the computer. What the hell?
Liza: Too many video games are no good for children.
Opal: Oh. Since when did you become mother of the year?
Liza: I've seen studies.
Opal: Well, la-di-da. I think I'm gonna go check on A.J.
J.R.: What the hell are you doing?
Liza: I'm keeping you from making an even bigger mistake than bribing a judge.
J.R.: Whatever it takes to get my son back.
Liza: You're gonna show him a video of his mother in bed with her lover?
J.R.: It wasn't meant for him to see.
Liza: J.R., what are you doing? You know you're gonna lose your son for good?
Bianca: Wasn't that a beautiful house?
Marissa: Oh, it's so cute, and it's right on the park.
Bianca: Do you ever walk by a house and wonder about the people inside, if they're -- I don't know -- happy?
Marissa: Yeah. Who wouldn't be happy in a house like that?
Bianca: So you like it?
Marissa: Yes. Don't you?
Bianca: Yeah. I guess I've lived in a lot of fancy houses in my life. I guess that's what comes with being Erica Kane's daughter.
Marissa: There are some perks, too -- like self-confidence.
Bianca: And the belief that anything's possible?
Marissa: Anything.
Dixie: What did I do with my towel?
Tad: Surprise! Surprise! I'm sorry.
Dixie: You scared me.
Tad: I couldn't resist.
Dixie: Ha ha ha! Get off. You shouldn't be here, you know. It's too dangerous, right, especially for Cara.
Tad: That's why I'm here. I don't think things are about to get any easier.
Dixie: What do you mean? What's going on? Can I do something to help?
Tad: Somehow David was able to convince Cara to work for him.
Dixie: Oh, no.
Tad: Yeah. He's nothing if not 100% consistent -- I'm with a woman, she gets vulnerable, he finds a way to take advantage. And I'm consistent, too, because I can't do anything about it -- any more than I could all those years ago when he got his hooks into you.
Dixie: You don't think I blame myself for what happened, for everything that's happening? If I could just remember what else David did when he had me on all those drugs, I could help.
Tad: You'll remember when the time is right.
Dixie: I wish the time was right now.
Tad: Why? What do you mean?
Dixie: I just feel like everything is so close, like it's right there. But when I close my eyes, and I try to think of what David did, I just --
Tad: Maybe that's the trick. Maybe you should stop trying.
Dixie: No, it's too important, Tad. There are all these other people and their lives are at stake, including Cara's. I just wish that I could feel safe enough to let go or --
Tad: Maybe I can help with that.
Cara: Oh, I'm sorry. That seat's -- hey. Let me guess -- my brother sent you?
Ryan: Before you start working with David, there's a couple things you need to know.
Cara: Hmm. I've heard it all, and it's good enough for me. He saves lives. End of story.
Greenlee: But it's not the end. Once he knows your weakness, it's just the beginning.
Erica: So you remember the plane going down.
Zach: And I was very lucky that David was there to save my life -- that's why we're backing his work. It's not just me. There's Dixie and who knows?
Erica: You think that there are others?
Kendall: David has implied.
Erica: Implied? Who? Who else is alive?
David: Why don't you ask me?
Liza: I just kept you from making a really huge mistake.
J.R.: Yeah? I don't need your help.
Liza: Right. Because you're an expert, aren't you? J.R., you know you're an expert at messing things up. If Opal had seen that sex tape --
J.R.: That was the whole idea. Opal would've spread the news all around town.
Liza: No, you're wrong about that because Erica is Opal's best friend. She's not gonna go around town spreading rumors about Bianca, Erica's daughter.
J.R.: Not rumors, the real thing. Bianca and Marissa making a videotape of their sexcapades, a video that my son could've seen?
Liza: Only they didn't actually make the tape, did they? No, you did -- which, by the way, is an invasion of privacy, and that could land you in jail.
J.R.: I don't think the judge would rule it that way. In fact, I don't think a judge in his right mind would allow a woman like that to raise a young boy.
Liza: "A woman like that."
J.R.: I think you know what I mean.
Liza: Wow. I'm just trying to figure out what time warp you actually crawled out from under. J.R., do you have any idea just how many same-sex couples are raising perfectly healthy, happy children?
J.R.: No, not my child.
Marissa: Hey!
J.R.: Would you look at that?
Liza: Yes, J.R., that's what a happy couple looks like.
J.R.: Let's see how happy they are when I get A.J. back.
Cara: So I'm beginning to understand why David feels ganged up on by the people in this town.
Greenlee: Because of all the pain he's caused.
Cara: What about the good that he's done? Doesn't that count for anything? He saved your life. Where's the gratitude?
Greenlee: One day you'll be having this conversation with another woman, trying to explain how evil David is, and you'll get frustrated, because she won't listen to you either. She'll have to experience that evil firsthand -- just like you will.
David: It's good to have you back, Erica. Pine Valley is never quite the same when you're gone. A lot has changed.
Erica: Yes, I've already heard about the so-called miracles you've performed.
David: Thank you. And that's just the beginning. Thanks to the backing of your family, this hospital will soon be known as the center for bio-regeneration.
Erica: Unless I shut it down. You don't own this hospital, David. I didn't sell it to you. Jane did when she was pretending to be me.
Kendall: Mom, I don't think you can stop the sale now -- I mean after the fact.
David: No, I think your mother is right. She can certainly take me to court. But then she'll never know who else I might've saved.
Erica: Don't play games with me, David.
David: This is not a game, Erica.
Erica: Oh, really? So is there someone else?
David: Yes, there is. But that's not gonna matter to you or anyone else if I lose this hospital. But then that's your call, now, isn't it?
Tad: Listen to me, ok? Whatever happened, whatever David did, is over. You're here with me, and it's gonna stay that way. He's never gonna hurt you again. I don't want you to try to grab onto anything. I just want you to let yourself drift back, back to when David was taking care of you. Was he with you all the time?
Dixie: No. Just sometimes.
Tad: Do you remember seeing anything?
Dixie: Just his voice. Just David's voice.
Tad: Oh. So he spoke? He was talking to you.
Dixie: No. Someone else. He was talking to somebody else.
Tad: Somebody else -- somebody else with you? Were you in a hospital room, like in a bed?
Dixie: I'm on a gurney.
Tad: And there's somebody else there besides David?
Dixie: Next to me.
Tad: Who was it? Did you see a face?
Dixie: Just lying there on a gurney.
Tad: What's David saying?
Dixie: Ohh!
Ryan: I got to tell you, after urging me to stay away from Hayward, the very last thing that I expected to see was you to show up there and warn Cara against him.
Greenlee: I've been trying to talk myself into the delusion that David couldn't hurt anyone anymore, including me.
Ryan: He's not gonna hurt you.
Greenlee: You don't know that.
Ryan: What did he say to scare you?
Greenlee: He told me Gillian could be alive.
Tad: Dixie, look at me. You don't have to remember anything else, ok? I want you to stop.
Dixie: I have to. David did something to me, and it wasn't just to me. There was another person in the room.
Tad: We'll talk about this later.
Dixie: I didn't see their face, but I saw her hand.
Tad: "Her hand"?
Dixie: There was a woman. David had another woman there!
Liza: So is that the only copy of the video that you have?
J.R.: Yeah.
Liza: J.R., don't lie to me. Is there another copy of this sex video?
J.R.: No. I didn't think I needed another copy.
Liza: You don't need that one either, so hand it over. J.R., if anybody sees that video, they are gonna immediately know that you're the one that recorded Bianca and your ex-wife, and you will go to jail. So come on.
J.R.: What are you gonna do? You gonna put it into your files?
Liza: No. I'm gonna burn it. And you? Never talk about this again. Do you understand?
J.R.: I guess I'm supposed to say "Thank you."
Marissa: Opal said J.R. didn't even try to see A.J. or make any kind of trouble. He just wanted to drop off a video game, and that was it.
Bianca: Wow. That sounds pretty civilized.
Marissa: You don't trust him?
Bianca: Nope.
Marissa: I don't know. Maybe I'm being naive, but I guess I really hope that J.R. is trying to turn his life around.
Bianca: I love the fact that you look for the good in everybody. I get it. I do the same thing. I just -- I hope J.R. doesn't make you regret it.
Erica: Just spit it out, David. Who else is there?
David: I already told you -- someone you loved very much.
Erica: And you want me to believe that you are holding this person prisoner. What kind of a man are you?
David: The kind of man you're gonna be extremely grateful to if you're willing to just give a little.
Erica: "A little"? You mean let you have this hospital?
David: That's right. You won't be sorry, Erica. Trust me. All in good time.
Erica: I'm sure it's been a very long day for you.
Kendall: Actually, I think it's been a long day for all of us, so I'm gonna head home with you.
Erica: Ok.
Kendall: Ok.
Erica: To be continued.
David: Is there a problem?
Zach: I just got a text from a friend in D.C. It seems Griffin wants to talk to the FDA about Orpheus.
David: I never should've brought him in on this. He has the power to bring it all down -- unless we stop him.
Ryan: Gillian? That's ridiculous. David is just really desperate.
Greenlee: Or maybe -- you loved her so much. I remember. I know you remember. Think about it -- if David's telling the truth --
Ryan: He's not. Ok? We need to stick together. If we do that, David cannot touch us.
Greenlee: You ready for bed?
Ryan: I'll be up in a minute, ok?
Ryan's voice: To you, to my wife, Gillian. To our future, wherever it may lead us.
Gillian: Nobody's ever loved you the way I do.
Ryan: You're an experienced, sophisticated, delicious woman. Princess, I have my dream right here, close to my heart. Don't you ever let me forget that. Promise me that.
Gillian: I promise you.
Ryan: There is no one on this earth that I could love like I love you. Princess, it's time to go on our honeymoon. Don't let go of my hand, ok? Just hold onto my hand. Just hold onto it.
Jake's voice: Ryan, Gillian is gone. Honor her and let her go.
Gillian: I love you, Ryan.
Ryan: I love you.
Gillian: Good-bye.
Ryan: Good-bye, Princess.
