Episode #10672

Madison: I was thinking we'd lead with this one, ease the buyers into the whole concept of the look.

Greenlee: So that's it? One conversation and you and Griffin are just over?

Kendall: Yeah. Basically, that was it. I don't know. I think going the safe route is not the best idea.

Madison: Really?

Kendall: Yeah. I think you have to come out guns blazing. Isn't that what Fierce is all about?

Madison: Ok. Um, this one?

Kendall: Ok, that's better. I like that. What do you think?

Greenlee: I think you're bailing on something worth fighting for.

Kendall: I'm talking about the look.

Greenlee: Forget about the look. Listen, take it from someone who's been there. Don't let David get between the two of you.

Kendall: This is not about David. I mean, it's about him a little bit, but Griffin was the one who decided not to be honest with me.

Greenlee: And who put him up to that?

David: And you've checked all the hospitals, the shelters? Then widen the radius, damn it. I don't care what it takes, just find her. Oh, man.

Griffin: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! What do you think you're doing? Sit. Sit down.

David: What does it look like I'm doing?

Griffin: You just had invasive abdominal surgery! What, are you trying to make a run for it?

David: I got to get out of here.

Griffin: Why? This is about your other patients, isn't it?

Scott: You might want to start checking your messages sometime. Stuff's hitting the fan over at Chandler. Everyone and his uncle is trying to get in touch with you. They're even harassing me now.

J.R.: I don't care.

Scott: Since when?

J.R.: Since I've got a family to salvage.

Tad: You're kidding. I got to hand it to her, Jack. As stories go, Erica's is pretty out there.

Jack: You're telling me.

Opal: Well, that doesn't mean it isn't true. You both know we've seen far weirder than this in this town before.

Tad: What?

Jack: I'm presuming the doctors at Oak Haven have seen "far weirder," as you say, but they're not letting her out.

Opal: So what do we do now?

Jack: I don't know. They're not allowing her visitors. I was hoping maybe you could help me with that, Tad.

Janet: Have no fear. You just follow my lead and your time in here is going to zoom by. Now, this arts and crafts class, for example -- we always have so much fun.

Erica: "We"?

Janet: Me and my friends. They're your friends, too, now that I think about it -- oh, how wonderful -- and there's one now. Yoo-hoo! M-Chan!

Erica: Marian?

Marian: Erica, my darling. Who are you visiting?

Janet: She's not visiting. So I'm J-Dill, in case you haven't cracked the code, and you know what that makes you: E-Kay.

Erica: No, it doesn't. Marian, how are you?

Marian: Darling, I'm a lot better than I was the last time you saw me.

Erica: Oh, that's so good.

Marian: But then, of course, my poor, dear Stuart --

Janet: Save that for the private counseling time. Oh. And, of course, here's another of our posse. I'm sure you remember A-Chan.

Annie: How could she forget?

Erica: How could I possibly forget a person who tried to kill me?

Annie: With a knife, no less. Sound familiar, Erica? Gosh, I still can't get over it -- all of the grief I get for stabbing you, and then you turn around and do the exact same thing.

Erica: Not quite.

Annie: So my blade was bigger.

Erica: I'm talking about your sanity -- or lack of it.

Annie: Oh. And you're just, what, taking a tour of Oak Haven today?

Erica: My circumstances are completely different than yours, completely unlike psychotic you.

Annie: Do not call me that.

Erica: Oh. Ok. Sorry. You still prefer to be called "Crazy Annie"?

Janet: No, no, no, no! We are all friends.

Erica: No, this woman was never my friend.

Annie: Do you hear her? You are in a mental institution. You might want to cool it with the above-it-all attitude.

Janet: I would put you both in a freezer if I could! Kidding. Ha! No, we just all need a refresher about the rules, hmm? Discussions about past transgressions are forbidden. This is a place where we move forward. So if you get angry, take it out on a hunk of clay. Although, you're probably a more macramé kind of girl, aren't you?

Erica: A macra-what?

Marian: Oh, darling, you remember. We had those hanging plants in the seventies with all those twisted knots in them?

Janet: So we would make such a good team, E-Kay, like -- like when that time we buried your pill-pushing doctor in your backyard?

Annie: And I'm the psychotic one?

Erica: He was not actually dead.

Annie: Oh. That makes it so much better.

Janet: Focus. We could put out a line of our own dolls: Dillon-Kane designs. All right, fine, fine. Kane-Dillon designs -- we'll go with that. As long as my name is next to yours, I am happy. We'll make a killing! What? It's just an expression!

J.R.: You know, Scott, you don't understand, because you don't even have a girlfriend.

Scott: Last time I checked, neither do you.

J.R.: I've got A.J., and my son means everything to me.

Scott: Oh, J.R., you got a real interesting way of showing it. I got a tip for you: The secret of family bliss is not found at the bottom of a bottle.

J.R.: Did you get that off of a fortune cookie?

Scott: What is wrong with you, J.R.? You got your shareholders freaking out.

J.R.: I don't care. If you want to make a run at the company, you got my blessing.

Scott: I don't believe that.

J.R.: I don't give a damn what you believe! I don't give a damn about you, or the company or anybody else, for that matter. I just want my son back.

Scott: You had him, J.R. That's just it -- you had him. But maybe everything's a little foggy now ever since you fell off the wagon.

Madison: I'm open to something more smoky --

Greenlee: All I'm saying is don't jump the gun and punish Griffin for something that may not be his fault.

Kendall: Not his fault? Griffin's been lying again.

Greenlee: Because he's a loyal guy, and you know how David plays on loyalty. "Master" doesn't even begin to cover it. Just give Griffin some time, and he'll realize that David is using him just like he uses everybody else.

Madison: I hate to interrupt, but this presentation is right around the corner. So maybe we could hold off on the personal stuff?

Greenlee: Listen, I know this line is very important to you. I get that. And you've put your heart and soul into Fierce, and as your boss, I seriously appreciate it. But sometimes the personal stuff can't take a backseat. Sometimes we have to deal with it. I didn't -- you know what? It's good to put your heart and soul into your work --

Madison: Whatever. Don't worry about it. If you need me, I'll be in the lounge.

Greenlee: Ahh. That went well.

Kendall: She's just going through a rough time. She'll be fine. Where are you going?

Greenlee: To see David.

Kendall: At the hospital?

Greenlee: He needs to believe I'm having a relapse, right? This is me being convincing.

Griffin: Who are they, Dr. H?

David: Believe me, I wish I could tell you the truth, trust you. I could certainly use an ally right now.

Griffin: I haven't once betrayed your confidence.

David: No, all you've been doing is cozying up with the enemy -- dating Kendall, humoring Lavery.

Griffin: First of all, "enemy"? Really? Second of all, I'm not dating Kendall anymore. We ended it.

David: When?

Griffin: Does it matter?

David: No. But why might.

Griffin: She wanted me to talk to her about Orpheus. When I wouldn't, she decided to walk.

David: That's harsh.

Griffin: Mm-hmm. So don't give me that crap about siding with the enemy. I torched my relationship with Kendall so I could keep your secret. So tell me what the hell is going on and what I can do to help.

Jack: Any luck?

Tad: I hope so. I just talked to Jesse and a friend of mine who works over at Oak Haven -- he owes me a major favor. He says if we run down to the courthouse and file an emergency brief on Erica's behalf, then by hook or crook, he'll get you in to see her.

Jack: With me as her lawyer, I should've thought of that. That's great. Thank you, Tad.

Opal: "Great"? That is fantabulous!

Tad: Yeah, there's only one hitch -- I'm going with you.

Dixie: Let me out! Let me out! Let me out!

David: You want honesty? All right. Here goes. You're better off without Kendall. She's a fascinating woman but way too volatile -- just like her mother.

Griffin: David, tell me about these other patients. You realize when you stonewall, all I do is assume the worst.

David: Let it go, Castillo.

Griffin: Are they in danger? Whatever is going on must be important if you'd risk your life to get the hell out of here.

David: It's extremely important.

Griffin: Why? First Greenlee, then Maria Santos. Are they all like that?

David: Like what?

Griffin: Like are they connected to you, to Pine Valley? Do their families even know where they are, that they're alive? I've worked for you and never questioned.

David: Because it works better that way.

Griffin: No, not for me. Not anymore. I need to know.

David: No, you don't.

Janet: Your creativity just radiates, E-Kay. Is that just not breathtaking?

Marian: It's beautiful, Erica.

Annie: Emma has made more complicated artwork at school.

Janet: A-Chan.

Annie: I'm just saying.

Janet: All right. So tell us all the "G" about everybody, about my Amanda and little Trevor.

Erica: Oh, I just don't know.

Janet: How could you not know? Amanda's a world-famous model.

Annie: "Was." She was a model. Not anymore.

Erica: Look, I was out of captivity for just about five minutes altogether. I had no idea, no way to catch up.

Annie: And why was that again? Oh, right -- because you stabbed someone. That's never gonna get old.

Marian: I, for one, don't need any gossip, because Scott is really wonderful about visiting me when he can.

Annie: Oh, that's nice for you, considering he's never come to see me.

Erica: Maybe you should've weighed that outcome before you decided to sleep your way through his entire family.

Annie: Weigh this.

Janet: Oh! Now, ladies, look. They're gonna take away our glitter if we don't behave. This is supposed to be relaxing, therapeutic. So go ahead. Tell me about everybody at home. Tell me about Amanda.

Annie: She just told you she doesn't know anything.

Janet: Maybe she does. Maybe she has some tidbit that she could offer! I am starved for news in here! Oh. Someone thinks she's too special to be a part of our group. I see.

Annie: Whatever. Good riddance.

Marian: Erica, the first few days are the scariest.

Erica: No, I'm not scared. I'm impatient. Waiting has never been my strong suit.

Marian: What are you waiting for?

Erica: For Jack to come to his senses. And when he does, then I am gonna be out of here in no time.

Tad: J.R.

J.R.: I'm here to see A.J. Don't even think about telling me no.

Tad: Jackson, do me a favor. Why don't you go on ahead? I'll catch up.

Jack: Yeah. I'll see you there.

Tad: Krystal's upstairs, and if you have anything to say to her, I suggest you start with "I'm sorry."

J.R.: I'm here to see my son.

Tad: Yeah, I heard you the first time. Are you sober?

J.R.: Why don't you break out a breathalyzer, then?

Tad: J.R., that's the last thing I want to do.

J.R.: Right. You'd rather just give me a lecture on what a screw-up I am. Well, save it. I got the memo loud and clear.

Tad: No, son, I don't think you did.

Kendall: I'm sorry about Greenlee. She gets a one-track mind sometimes.

Madison: I'm just glad we're finally getting down to work.

Kendall: Yeah. Ok, so are we all set on these looks?

Madison: I am if you are.

Kendall: I want to look at one more. I want to look at this dress, actually. I think that there's -- this will go great with the lips.

Madison: The whole military style thing? Let me find -- I have one other, actually. Well. There goes that.

Kendall: Why don't you just take a break?

Madison: Sure. Work's overrated anyway.

Griffin: If this is a bad time, I can come back.

Kendall: No, no, no, it's fine. Am I supposed to know why you're here?

Griffin: It's kind of tough when I don't even know myself.

Kendall: Well, let me know when you figure it out.

Griffin: I'm sorry -- for the way things ended. I hope you know that's not what I wanted. None of it is.

Kendall: What am I supposed to do with that?

Griffin: Nothing. I just wanted to be clear that this wasn't some macho-headed move, that I care about you. And you're right. There's no place for secrets in any relationship, especially ours.

Kendall: So is that why you came here, to tell me that again, or have you decided to let me in?

David: If you're looking for a plug to pull, I'm sorry to disappoint you. It's only a blood pressure monitor.

Greenlee: I'd be lying if I said the thought never crossed my mind. But killing you doesn't work in my favor.

David: Really? And why is that?

Greenlee: As much as I hate to admit this, you might be the one person who can keep me alive. And I don't want to die.

Krystal: Opal told me you were down here.

J.R.: You just couldn't wait to give me a scolding.

Krystal: Actually, I think I'll let you do the talking.

J.R.: I'm sorry.

Tad: For?

J.R.: For barging in here when I was drunk and grabbing you like that. But you really couldn't see where I was coming from?

Tad: You can't just leave it at "I'm sorry"?

J.R.: What are you talking about? My wife left me for another woman!

Krystal: Marissa is not your wife.

J.R.: And she's keeping A.J. from me. I'm not the one who messed up here.

Krystal: Oh, really? What do you call downing a fifth of whiskey, J.R.?

J.R.: Therapy?

Tad: Ok. Can we all just try to calm down, please?

J.R.: I didn't tear up my family. Marissa did.

Krystal: You are being ridiculous. Yes, you're being ridiculous!

J.R.: Tad, will you -- really?

Tad: That's enough!

J.R.: Hey, bud. I missed you. I'm sorry about all the yelling. Dad just got a little out of control.

Marissa: I think maybe you should leave.

J.R.: Not without my son.

Janet: There. What do you think?

Annie: What is it?

Janet: I call it "best friends, forever and always."

Marian: Oh, Janet, darling, it's lovely.

Annie: I think it looks like a blob. A colorful blob, but still a blob.

Janet: Must you always bring everyone down?

Annie: I am just talking about how I feel. Isn't that the drill in this place?

Marian: Why don't you talk about how you feel a little more quietly, Annie?

Annie: Ohh.

Orderly: Time's up. Out to the exercise yard.

Janet: We didn't get our full hour. This isn't fair.

Orderly: Hey, I'm just the messenger.

Erica: I, for one, would very much like to get some fresh air.

Orderly: No, Ms. Kane, you stay here. You have something scheduled.

Annie: Ooh. Wow. That doesn't sound good. If they start strapping you to a table, just fight for your life.

Erica: What's this about? Sir? Jack. Oh, Jack, I knew you'd come! Jack, I still don't understand how you got in. They told me I can't have visitors.

Jack: I just came from the courthouse. Say hello to your official attorney in all this.

Erica: Really? Does that mean that you believe me?

Jack: It means I love you.

Erica: Or are you just so skilled at deflection?

Jack: Have a seat, please. I want to believe you more than anything, Erica, but this story of a woman stealing your face, your life -- to say it's wild is an understatement.

Erica: So you still believe that I lost it, that I belong side by side with Marian and Annie and Janet from Another Planet?

Jack: I believe you belong with me, and I'll do anything I can to make that happen.

Erica: Look, Jack, I know that it sounds extreme, beyond extreme, but I swear to you that I'm telling you the truth.

Jack: Then there has to be some proof out there, and if I -- when I find it, you will never see anyone so eager to say that they were wrong.

Erica: How is David?

Jack: He'll live, thankfully.

Erica: Ohh. Whew! I bet you never thought you'd say that.

Jack: Oh, I've said and done a lot of things I never thought I would. You seem to bring that out in me.

Erica: Ok, then, Counselor. Where do we start?

Jack: At the beginning. And don't leave anything out.

Tad: You do not want to do this here. You understand? Just do us all a favor -- go home and get some rest. I'll talk to Marissa and bring A.J. by your place later on. Please?

J.R.: Yeah, ok. Hey, A.J.? I'll see you in a bit, all right, over at the house. We'll play some video games. What do you say, huh?

Krystal: Are you all right?

Marissa: I'm not the one you should be worried about. Thank you for talking to him. I think you're probably the only one he'll listen to right now.

Tad: Don't thank me just yet. I told him I would bring A.J. by his place later on, if it's ok with you. And if it is, I give you my word I will be there the entire time. Is that all right?

Marissa: Of course, it's all right, as long as you'll be there.

A.J.: I don't want to go.

Marissa: What'd you say?

A.J.: I don't want to go see Dad.

Greenlee: The numbness is getting worse.

David: In what respect? Less feeling? More frequent?

Greenlee: Both. You know I wouldn't be here if it wasn't scaring the hell out of me.

David: Is that your way of asking for my help?

Greenlee: You fixed me the first time. I need you to do it again.

David: What about Lavery?

Greenlee: What about him?

David: Have you told him about these episodes?

Greenlee: No. Not yet.

David: You're lying, Greenlee. After that mess with Madison, you wouldn't keep a secret like this from him again.

Griffin: Please try and understand I want to tell you the truth.

Kendall: But you can't? Because of David?

Griffin: Because of a lot of reasons.

Kendall: I just -- if you want to do something, then do it. Just tell me about this research.

Griffin: This is bigger than me. It's bigger than --

Kendall: Us? "Boring, medical stuff" -- that's what you said when I asked what kind of research you were working on. I got to tell you, it doesn't sound so boring to me.

Griffin: I don't have all the answers yet.

Kendall: That's ok. That's all right. Just tell me what you do know.

Griffin: I can't. Not only could our work be at risk, but people's lives are at stake.

Kendall: What? Are you hearing yourself right now? What is going on, and what, exactly, have you gotten involved in?

Griffin: I don't want it to end like this.

Kendall: It doesn't have to. It doesn't. Secrets are the last thing that I thought would tear us apart.

Griffin: I know it's asking a lot, maybe too much, but I need you to trust me.

Scott: Madison?

Madison: Hasn't been that long, has it?

Scott: No, no, no. It's that you just look different.

Madison: "Different" good?

Scott: You look great. Then again, you'd look great in a potato sack, so --

Madison: It's for my new line at Fusion.

Scott: Your new line?

Madison: It's called "Fierce."

Scott: "Fierce." Wow. That's great. And it's good to hear that Kendall and Greenlee are finally taking you seriously. Then again, they would have to in that fierce outfit.

Madison: And I'm scarfing down a hot dog?

Scott: Yeah, but this is not just any ordinary hot dog, is it? This? No, no. This is an overpriced park steamer cart stick of meat, and why are we such suckers?

Madison: I don't know. Ha ha! Mustard on my face?

Scott: No. I'm just taking in the new Madison.

Madison: How have you been?

Scott: Ah. I'm doing all right. I'm getting my hours in at the hospital, working on my dad's house. Good to be working with my hands again and, you know -- but I guess I don't have to ask you how you're doing.

Madison: No?

Scott: Because by the looks of things, it looks like you took the world by the reins and told it right where to go.

Jack: I got to tell you I was hoping it would sound more plausible the second time around.

Erica: I didn't change my story, did I?

Jack: No.

Erica: That should count for something.

Jack: You say you have no idea where this Jane might've gone?

Erica: No. And I realize it was a big mistake just to let Jane and Ben go. I understand that. But I just wanted to come home so badly, I would've agreed to anything.

Jack: And they gave you no indication where they might be heading?

Erica: No. None.

Jack: Ok. You say this Ben caused an accident that killed Jane's daughter?

Erica: Yes. Do you think that information could help us?

Jack: I think it's worth checking into.

Erica: There's also Jane's plastic surgeon, this Dr. Fascinella. He's the same man who helped me after my car accident. Maybe he knows something.

Jack: Sure, if he hasn't gone into hiding. I mean, seriously. Replicating another human being? Come on. There should be a law against it.

Erica: Sounds like you almost believe me.

Jack: I do. I realize now that you're telling the truth. But us proving that, that's another story.

Erica: Your believing me right now, that's enough. And thank you. Oh, thank you, thank you for not giving up on me.

Jack: Never.

Kendall: I'm sorry. Trust you?

Griffin: Yes.

Kendall: Ok. And just forget the fact that David Hayward is involved? Are you kidding me? Do you have any idea the destruction this man has caused on this town? He has hurt almost everybody here, including his own daughter.

Griffin: I understand that.

Kendall: No, I don't think you do. Because if you did, you wouldn't just be asking me to blindly put my faith in you.

Griffin: You did once before. And as I recall, I lived up to that, and then some.

Kendall: Do not throw you saving my life in my face, ok? That was completely different. Back then, you were just Dr. Griffin Castillo, some pain-in-the-ass stranger who happened to be brilliant at fixing hearts, and I needed you.

Griffin: And now?

Kendall: I don't. Not like that. A relationship is all about being open and honest. You're either all in or you're out.

Griffin: And a relationship is also about compromise.

Kendall: I can't compromise, not on this.

Griffin: So that's it? End of discussion?

Kendall: You think I want to end this? You think I want this to be the end? Are you crazy? Do you know how much I love what we have? I miss it -- the feeling that you get, the buzzing in your stomach before we see each other, and the not knowing if I'm gonna call you or you're gonna call me. I love that.

Griffin: We can still have that.

Kendall: Not unless you tell me everything. That's the only way this will work.

Griffin: I'm sorry. I can't. For your sake, I can't.

Kendall: For my sake? "For my sake"? What the hell is David doing?

Greenlee: I didn't come here for marriage counseling.

David: Greenlee, wait. You can't blame me for being skeptical. It wasn't too long ago you'd spit on my shadow if it crossed your path.

Greenlee: I wouldn't count that out moving forward.

David: I just find it hard to believe that you would keep something this big from Ryan.

Greenlee: He's been through so much -- first Emma, and then the baby. The last thing I want is to cause him more stress.

David: And if I'm acting as your physician --

Greenlee: Stress. Not to mention the fact that we don't know what we're dealing with yet. Something is obviously going on with me, but is it temporary? Am I regressing, and if I am, what does that mean?

David: There's no way for me to know.

Greenlee: Paralysis? Worse? I don't want to worry Ryan until I know for sure.

David: I wish I could ease your mind. But without a proper examination, without tests --

Greenlee: You must be able to tell me something. A hunch maybe? Maybe it's connected to you healing me the first time around. I was so relieved to be alive, I never even asked any questions. But did you save my life knowing that it wouldn't last?

David: Greenlee.

Greenlee: Please, David, be straight with me. Am I going to die?

Scott: I swear that squirrel right there has been following me.

Madison: Probably just wants the crumbs from your hot dog.

Scott: I thought it was my winning personality.

Madison: Heh. That, too.

Scott: Yeah.

Madison: When I came out here, I was so frustrated. Thank you for making me smile.

Scott: Anytime. Of course, the first one is on the house, but after that, cha-ching. Ok? Oh. It's hard, isn't it, to keep from smiling when you want to? When you really want to smile there it is. It's going. You're losing it. You can't keep it up. There -- oh! Time to pay up.

Madison: Yeah, maybe if this line ever gets off the ground.

Scott: Whoa. Not "if." "When."

Madison: So what are you doing out here? You escaping, too?

Scott: Chandler's in such meltdown that they've even been reaching out to me. J.R. -- he's no better. And the only stress relief I have is working on my dad's gatehouse, so --

Madison: Gatehouse? I'd like to see that.

Scott: You should come by sometime -- and bring a hammer. You can work off those smiles.

Madison: Deal.

Scott: Ok.

J.R.: Where's A.J.?

Tad: He's not feeling so hot.

J.R.: He looked fine to me.

Tad: It came on pretty quickly. It could've been the waffles.

J.R.: Let me guess -- Marissa said no, so Krystal jumped on the bandwagon.

Tad: No.

J.R.: I can't believe I left him there. I can't believe that you're keeping him from me.

Tad: I'm not doing anything of the sort. J.R., Your son didn't want to come.

J.R.: He said that?

Tad: I'm sorry. I think he's just a little too freaked out.

J.R.: By me? Come on, that's insane.

Tad: J.R., look at yourself. Can you blame him?

J.R.: You're doing it again.

Tad: Doing what?

J.R.: I needed saving from my father, so you're gonna save A.J. from me.

Tad: That's not true.

J.R.: Because I'll tell you something -- he doesn't need saving. What he needs to get away from that crazy woman that he calls his mother.

Tad: What do you think you're doing?

J.R.: Report to your kidnappers. I've got a team of lawyers ready to descend. I am gonna get my son back.

Tad: Not like this, you're not.

J.R.: Whoa! Oh! Whew! Ah!

Griffin: This was obviously a mistake.

Kendall: Ok. Which part?

Griffin: I came here to explain things, and I've only made them worse. And I'm sorry for putting you in this position, for all of it. All I can hope is that one day you'll understand, and you'll forgive me.

David: You're not gonna die.

Greenlee: How do you know?

David: Because I won't let you. But you can't tell anyone that I'm helping you. Do you understand? Not your father, not Kendall, especially not Ryan. Is that understood?

Greenlee: Yes. So what do we do? Medication? Physical therapy?

David: I got to take you somewhere for treatment.

Greenlee: Can't we do it here?

David: That's not the way it works.

Greenlee: David.

David: I need my rest. I'll be in touch.

Jack: Listen to me. I am at this day and night.

Erica: Will you come back soon?

Jack: As soon as I can. Believe me. Listen to me. I am so sorry that I didn't believe in you. Please, please believe in me, that I'm doing everything I can?

Erica: I do. And if could survive that kidnapping, I can survive this.

Jack: There's no doubt in my mind. Come here.
