Kendall: Maybe you're a little freaked out. That's ok, Zach. I understand. We'll go slow. You want to make this work. I know you do. I felt it when you kissed me. You want to stay and fight for what we have, don't you?
Zach: A lot happened while I was gone.
Kendall: Yes, I know that. I know, but don't you think that's part of the problem, is that we haven't been together? We haven't been around each other. Yes, I messed up. But how can we ever work past it if you won't even talk to me?
Zach: We will talk, but right now, I gotta go. You should be with Greenlee in the courtroom.
Kendall: No. No. No.
Zach: What are you doing?
Kendall: You want out? You're gonna have to get through me.
Krystal: Can I get you-oo-oo -- scary, huh?
Caleb: Oh, boy.
[Krystal chuckles]
Caleb: I'll have a coffee and a strawberry rhubarb pie to go.
Krystal: Ok. Let's see. Here you go. So what do you think, huh? Seriously, scary, right?
Caleb: No.
Krystal: You're not a fan?
Caleb: No.
Krystal: Oh, yeah, right. What's to like about Halloween? Fun costumes, loads and loads of delicious candy -- yecch!
Caleb: It's another day on the calendar to me.
Krystal: Oh, come on, Caleb. Don't you have any fond memories buried deep in that thick skull of yours? You know, dances and favorite costumes? I don't know, toilet papering your friend's house?
Caleb: You're very strange.
Krystal: Hmm. Well, I guess not. Ok, then. I guess I will put your order in for that rhubarb pie.
Woman's voice [in Caleb's mind]: Caleb! Caleb!
J.R.: I don't care what Cortlandt filed! I want access to my son. Yeah, well, you make it happen. What are you staring at?
Asher: I'm just realizing how much it must suck, fighting for your company on top of fighting for your kid.
J.R.: Well, I have your father to thank for both.
Asher: Come on, I told you not to call him that.
J.R.: I will get Caleb. And that, my friend, is a promise.
Asher: Can't wait to be there when you do.
[Doorbell rings]
Asher: Do you want me to get that?
[J.R. sighs]
Erica: Well -- hello again.
Asher: Miss Kane.
Erica: Is J.R. here?
Asher: Yeah, but it's not really a good time --
Erica: Well, I'm afraid it's my only time. I'm such a busy woman. J.R., you're coming to lunch with me.
J.R.: Only if the restaurant's special is Caleb's head on a platter.
Erica: Fine. Then we'll stay, because I have a proposal to make to you, and you need to listen.
Krystal: If your little girl weren't here right now, I would kick you right out of this place.
Annie: And I wouldn't blame you. Look, I know you have no reason to believe me --
Krystal: No, I don't.
Annie: But I am truly sorry about everything that happened, especially the fact that Scott and Marissa got hurt. If I could go back and change it, I would --
Krystal: What would you change? Hmm? What Chandler wouldn't you sleep with, hmm?
Annie: Hey.
Krystal: Hey, pumpkin. Can I get you anything?
Emma: I don't care.
Annie: She'll take a chocolate milkshake, please.
Krystal: Ok. And for you?
Annie: I'm all set, thanks.
Krystal: All right. One chocolate milkshake coming up.
Annie: Hey. What's the matter?
Emma: Daddy's not answering his phone.
Annie: I told you, sweetheart, he's in court today.
Emma: But I miss him.
Annie: I know. He misses you, too. How about I look online and see when the next break is so we can see when the best time to reach him would be, hmm? Oh, my God.
Emma: What?
Annie: Nothing.
Emma: Something's wrong. It's about Daddy.
Greenlee: You kissed me right here. You're with another woman, but you're willing to give up everything for me. What do you expect me to do with that, Ryan? What does it mean?
Ryan: It means that I don't want to see you go to prison, that's what it means.
Greenlee: But I'll be fine if you do?
Ryan: It's different.
Greenlee: How?
Ryan: Because you're innocent, and I could be the one that poisoned David.
Greenlee: This isn't how it was supposed to work. I was supposed to go free.
Ryan: You will go free.
Greenlee: It's not free if you're behind bars. Don't you get that? I just wanted this to finally be over so I could say it out loud.
Ryan: Say what out loud?
Greenlee: What I want. What I really want.
Zach: Please move.
Kendall: I said no. This is crazy, Zach. It's insane. A few minutes ago, we couldn't keep our hands off of each other.
Zach: You're hard to resist.
Kendall: Well, then I'm not crazy, right? You did say that you were home for good.
Zach: I did. I --
[Dog barks]
Spike: Daddy Zach!
Zach: How are my favorite guys? Where's your brother?
Kendall: Yeah, where is he? Come on in! Hi, angel! Hi!
Zach: I missed you so much. You have no idea.
Ryan: What matters right now is that you get acquitted, Greenlee. Personally, I don't care how we get there.
Greenlee: Well, I do. I don't want you to pay for the choice I made.
Ryan: What does that mean?
Greenlee: When I came back, I was so hurt and angry. I thought you turned your back on me, so I turned my back on you, and I married David. I made you watch. I wanted you to suffer, because I thought that you had forgotten about me.
Ryan: Look, you don't owe me an explanation, ok?
Greenlee: No, I owe you so much more than that. I'm so sorry. You were just trying to move on with your life, and I couldn't accept it. And maybe it's too little too late, but I need you to know that I accept it now. I know that you would never hurt me. And if I could go back and do it again, I would never hurt you, either, because you and I are --
Madison: Hey, guys. Did I miss something?
Annie: Nothing's wrong with your daddy. He's just -- he's a real live hero, and he just likes helping people.
Emma: Maybe we should sew him a cape.
Annie: I think that would be a great idea.
Emma: Can we go home now?
Annie: Soon. But Emma, sweetheart, you do know that the mansion is not gonna be our home for very much longer. We're just staying at the gatehouse for now.
Emma: J.R. doesn't want us there anymore?
Annie: No, no, no, it's not that at all. It's just that we are going to find a new home, an even better home.
Emma: With a playroom and a pool and an apple orchard?
Annie: Uh, wow. Uh, huh. I'll try.
Emma: That means no.
Annie: Emma, sweetheart, you're a big girl, right? A big enough girl to understand that home is not about how many rooms you have or how many toys you have. It's about the people in it. Right? It's about you and me. And we've gone through so much together, haven't we? Yes. We're gonna get through this, too. I promise. Hey. What's on your mind?
Emma: Can we go home and get the rest of my dress-up clothes?
Annie: On one condition. If I can have some of that. It looks so yummy. Come here. Oh. I love you so much, and I am always gonna take care of you, Emma. You know that, right? Yeah.
Erica: J.R., you are prime to lose everything.
J.R.: Caleb made it clear that that's what he wants. But it's more than just getting Cortlandt back. The man wants to destroy me.
Erica: Then aren't you lucky that Caleb doesn't make all those decisions by himself?
J.R.: The guy is obsessed.
Erica: You stole his company, J.R.
J.R.: No, it's much deeper than that. He's always ranting and raving about Adam and the Chandlers. Who knows what's going on in that man's head.
Erica: Ok, I am going to cut straight to the chase. I can get Caleb to back off if you sell back Cortlandt Electronics. I can be very persuasive.
J.R.: I know that you're Erica Kane and everything, but even you can't dial the impossible.
Erica: Don't be so pigheaded about this, J.R. You'll get back your company, Caleb will get back Palmer's, and we can all move on.
J.R.: And what do you get?
Krystal: Um, are you ok?
Caleb: Yeah, I'm fine. Why? Where's my pie?
Krystal: It's coming. You just -- I don't know, you seem a little lost. You really hate Halloween that much?
Caleb: I don't get a day that celebrates death.
Krystal: Yeah, but it seems like something more than that, at least to you. And I think I know the answer to this question, but you want to talk about it?
Caleb: There's nothing to talk about. Some people don't like Christmas. I don't like Halloween, ok?
Krystal: No particular reason?
Caleb: I don't like sweets.
Krystal: Says the man who just ordered a rhubarb pie.
Caleb: The pie's for Miranda.
Krystal: Sure it is.
J.R.: You keep saying this is all about business.
Erica: It is.
J.R.: Caleb is Marissa's lawyer in this whole custody mess. He's doing everything he can to keep A.J. away from me.
Erica: I can imagine how difficult that is for you.
J.R.: Difficult? You know how much I care for A.J. You helped me hold onto him when David tried to steal him from me.
Erica: Then I'm sure you know that I have no desire to make things worse for you.
J.R.: But your partner does. It's not enough for him just to get Cortlandt back. He wants to take my son from me. That bloodsucker wants to leave me with nothing.
Erica: And that's where I come in.
J.R.: Why?
Erica: Why what?
J.R.: Caleb's sole purpose is to take me down. At least I know what he stands to gain. But you? You're just involving yourself in someone else's war for what?
Erica: You were there. You were at the will reading. Your fabulous, dear Uncle Palmer left me with a job to do, and I will be damned if I let him down.
J.R.: Uncle Palmer was that important to you?
Erica: Yes. As a matter of fact, he was.
Caleb: You wouldn't be following me, would you?
Asher: Last I checked, public place.
Caleb: Yeah, this is, but my home isn't. And if I catch you there again --
Asher: What would you do?
Caleb: You don't want to know.
[Krystal sighs]
Asher: You gonna ream me out, too?
Krystal: Not unless you give me a reason to.
Asher: I'm just here to do some work.
Krystal: And order something.
Asher: Coffee. Black.
Krystal: What do you know? You have something in common with Caleb. Hmm.
Zach: It's good to be home, isn't it?
Spike: Yep.
Zach: Great to be home, to be here?
Kendall: Yeah, Daddy Zach may have to leave soon.
Spike: Why?
Zach: I got something to take care of, but I will be back before you can close your eyes, turn around, and count to 1,000.
Kendall: Hmm. That's a long time.
Zach: I will do everything in my power that we have this, that we're here together, but I gotta leave for a little while. But I'll be back soon. I promise. I promise on Lord Stanley's cup. Right, gentlemen?
Kendall: You know what, guys, I think it is time for some lunch. You guys want some lunch?
Boys: Yeah.
Kendall: Yeah, all right. I bet you do. Colleen, would you mind? Come on, let's go. Let's go!
Colleen: Let's go, guys. Ok.
Zach: Give me that.
[Spike giggles]
Kendall: Why did you even come back?
Zach: What kind of a question is that? To be with my family.
Kendall: Only to leave us two seconds later? Zach, this is crazy. We were minutes away from making love, and then all of a sudden you go sprinting out the front door?
Zach: Pretty sure it was walking, Kendall.
Kendall: No, Zach. Either forgive me or don't, but enough with the back and forth.
Zach: Kendall --
Kendall: No, Zach. Listen to me. I love you, and I know you love me, so stop pushing me away. Well, aren't you gonna say something?
Zach: Depends. Are you done?
Kendall: Yes.
Zach: I'm not pushing you away.
Kendall: Then what are you doing?
Zach: Trying to keep you safe.
Greenlee: Step away from the trial for a few hours, you miss a lot. Gosh, I wouldn't know where to start. There's a witness who said that he saw Ryan outside my hotel room the night that David died.
Madison: Well, I mean, that's ok, right? You admitted that you two had a fight in there.
Greenlee: Well, this witness also testified that he heard Ryan say that someone was going to die that night.
Madison: What? And you knew about this guy? You knew what he was gonna say?
Ryan: Tad found him the night before the trial, and he brought him to me, and I brought him to Jack.
Greenlee: Who I'm not done with, by the way. I told him you were off limits.
Ryan: Hey, Greenlee, it's done.
Greenlee: You are out of your mind if you think I'm gonna sit back and watch this happen.
Madison: When are you gonna stop being the hero?
Ryan: Madison -- I'm really not trying to be the hero here. I'm trying to get the truth out in the open. That's all I'm trying to do, ok? I personally think it's time that we all face this.
Madison: What's "this"? Face what?
Ryan: The facts, the facts. We have to face the facts that lead to the real possibility that I am guilty, that I am the one that killed David.
Zach: You and the boys are my whole life, and you know that.
Kendall: You're starting to scare me.
Zach: I don't want to -- I don't want to scare you.
Kendall: What?
Zach: I know I gave you a hard time about Greenlee and Ryan.
Kendall: A hard time? Zach, you wouldn't even return my phone calls.
Zach: I thought it was my turn to talk now.
Kendall: But you -- all right. Ok, I'm sorry. Not a word.
Zach: You're still doing it. You're still talking.
Kendall: I'm done.
Zach: But that's -- I miss this. I miss us. I miss you and our kids and this life. I wish I could just lock the door and be here forever, but --
Kendall: But you can't?
Zach: No, I can't.
Kendall: Zach, what is going on?
Zach: Something's come up, something that I thought I'd handled, but obviously, I was wrong. And I can't do this. I can't restart our life together until I deal with it.
Erica: Believe me, J.R. Had I known that you planned to snake Cortlandt Electronics --
[Doorbell rings]
Erica: Away from Caleb, I would have stayed.
J.R.: You also didn't rush back when you heard the news of the sale. So what has you so invested now?
Erica: Caleb?
J.R.: Who let you in?
Caleb: One of your servants.
J.R.: What do you want?
Caleb: More good news on your custody case. What are you doing here? You making deals on your own? That's not part of our arrangement.
Erica: I came here to try to be the voice of reason. We all need to be reasonable. J.R., you want to hold onto your family legacy.
J.R.: Yes.
Erica: Caleb, you want to get your legacy back.
Caleb: So?
Erica: So the only way we can do that is that we all need to work together to make that happen. And I'm not giving you any choice. You have no choice. This is going to happen.
Jack: For the record --
Greenlee: Spoken like a true lawyer.
Jack: I never lied to you.
Greenlee: Well, you sure as hell didn't tell me the truth. I knew something was going on. I told you not to use Ryan to get me acquitted.
Jack: He was protecting you the same way you're trying to protect him.
Greenlee: Is this Pearson guy even for real?
Jack: Yes, he is.
Greenlee: So, he really saw Ryan? He heard him say that?
Jack: He says he did.
Greenlee: Oh, my God, Dad. The police could start digging around because of this. What if they find more evidence against him?
Jack: Greenlee, to my knowledge, there is no more evidence against him.
Greenlee's voice: That vial that you're holding? Ryan had it.
Kendall: Oh, my God.
Greenlee: I think he did it. Kendall, I think he poisoned David.
Jack: You said you trusted me.
Greenlee: And clearly, that was a mistake. You're fired.
Erica: I am not a peacemaker. I have far more important things to do with my life than to referee your spitting matches. For me, this is all about fixing this, so it doesn't get in the way of my life and the things I would like to accomplish. If you keep on going this way, there will be nothing left to fight over.
J.R.: It's not fun for him if he doesn't have a grudge to hold over me or a child to steal.
Caleb: You and your cousin are the thieves.
J.R.: I want to see my son, damn it!
Caleb: You ought to watch that temper. It's not gonna serve you well in court. Let's go.
Erica: Think about what I said, J.R.
J.R.: You're not actually leaving with him? This might be a fun challenge for you, but you have no idea what you're involving yourself in or what he is capable of.
Erica: I have spent enough time with this man under even more trying circumstances, so believe me, I am relatively sure of who he is.
J.R.: You're wrong. He plays up the tortured Mountain Man routine, wounded by civilization, when in fact, he's the one who's doing the wounding. Isn't that right, Caleb? You've left so many casualties behind.
Caleb: You have no idea who I am or what I do.
J.R.: I know more about you than you think I do.
Caleb: Let's go.
J.R.: This is not about the company, this is about flesh and blood. I know that you would do anything to protect your family just like I would. He doesn't have the first clue about that. Putting family before business, loving a child before himself. He's only concerned with taking me down, but if you'd like to be connected to someone like that, be my guest. Just make sure you don't end up as collateral damage. You can show yourselves out.
Jack: I understand you're upset.
Greenlee: Do you? Really?
Jack: But you cannot fire me in the middle of your trial, Greenlee.
Greenlee: Watch me.
Jack: The judge won't allow it. Not without very good reason or unless you decide to represent yourself.
Greenlee: I've heard worse ideas.
Jack: I haven't. This is your life we're talking about. The difference between you waking up in your California king or on a cot behind bars for the rest of your life.
Greenlee: Don't you think I know that?
Jack: Then why is it that you can't see that our number-one priority is to get you a not guilty verdict?
Greenlee: Because that verdict turns around and indicts Ryan. There has to be another way.
Jack: Don't you think if there was another way, we'd already be walking down that path? I have to create reasonable doubt, and the only way I can do that is to point a finger at somebody else.
Greenlee: Well, then find another somebody else.
Jack: Nobody else had the means, the motive, and the opportunity like Ryan did.
Greenlee: Don't even say that. Don't even think it.
Jack: I have to. And so does Ryan, because since this witness popped up out of nowhere, it's looking more like maybe Ryan did kill David. Greenlee, don't tell me this hasn't gone through your mind more than once. That's why you're so damn opposed to this idea.
Madison: You didn't kill David. You couldn't have.
Ryan: As long as I don't remember what happened that night, yes, I absolutely could have.
Madison: I thought you were just planting a seed here. I thought you were just making it look like you were guilty to raise reasonable doubt.
Ryan: Because I didn't want to face the worst, because I don't want to have to look my kids in the eye and tell them that I actually hurt somebody. I don't want to do that, even if the somebody is David. Ok? You don't know how much I hate this. This whole thing -- I hate it. This is exactly what I've been running from my entire life -- all the anger, all the rage, and the actions that come from that, all the violence. Now I'm caught. I'm just caught right in the middle of this.
Madison: You don't know that for sure.
Ryan: But I have to explore the possibility, Madison.
Madison: This is unreal.
Ryan: I'm so sorry. I'm gonna call Annie, fill her in on what's going on.
Madison: What's going on is you are about to abandon your little girl. Are you honestly prepared to do that?
Ryan: I am not abandoning anybody. I'm trying to get the truth out in the open. And once that happens, Jack and I will fight this thing to the end.
Madison: That's great, but what if you lose?
Ryan: Greenlee is innocent, and I know that. I have to do what's right. I have to help her. There's no answer.
Madison: I'll go see Annie. I'll fill her in and we can make a schedule for Emma for the week.
Ryan: You don't have to do that.
Madison: I want to. Anything to get out of here.
Annie: Where are your dress-up clothes, sweetie? In the playroom? Ok, just be quick, ok? We can't stay long. Ok?
J.R.: Hi, Emma.
Emma: Is A.J. here?
J.R.: No, he's not.
Annie: Don't worry. We won't stay long. Emma just needs to get some of her -- are you ok?
J.R.: Not really. I can't stand being without A.J. He must be so confused.
Annie: He's probably just confused about the whole situation, not about how much you love him.
J.R.: They won't even let me talk to him. They won't let me tell my side of the story. Nothing. God knows what kind of lies they're feeding him.
Annie: Marissa wouldn't do that.
J.R.: Caleb would.
Annie: [Sighs] Sucks. You feel like your whole world could explode, doesn't it? If it does, call me. We can compare notes.
J.R.: Sounds like it's not your best day, either.
Annie: I'm just really worried about Emma. It looks like the focus in David's murder case has turned to Ryan. And if he goes to prison, I honestly do not know how she would deal with that.
J.R.: Why anyone would go to prison for offing Hayward is beyond me. I'm sorry. Emma doesn't deserve to lose her father. No kid does.
Annie: No. I keep thinking, "How can I fix this for her?" But how am I supposed to fix it when I don't even have a place to live?
J.R.: You're looking?
Annie: Sure, but it's impossible to rent an apartment when all your assets have been frozen. But I know we can't stay here. That's not why I'm telling you this.
J.R.: Maybe I can help.
Annie: No, you've already been way too generous letting us stay at the gatehouse. Sorry, I don't know what's keeping her. I'll go get her.
J.R.: Annie, wait. I don't want you to leave.
Zach: I decided it was time to sell the rest of the casinos.
Kendall: Seriously?
Zach: Yeah. I wanted money to go to a worthwhile cause like the Miranda Center. I want this to be our home base.
Kendall: That sounds great. I'm still not seeing the problem.
Zach: Over the years, I'd get some partners, some people to help me run the casino when I wasn't there. It turned out, a lot of them weren't trustworthy.
Kendall: What happened?
Zach: When we were gone, they took liberties.
Kendall: They stole from you?
Zach: In a way, yeah. And now they're upset that I'm shutting them down.
Kendall: Well, poor them.
Zach: And there have been threats.
Kendall: Against you? On us? Oh, my God! Zach!
Zach: It's ok. Hey, I got it covered, but I didn't want to take a chance with you and the kids.
Kendall: Is this why you had to stay away, because you were dealing with that?
Zach: Yeah.
Kendall: Zach, I thought that you were so furious with me. I was afraid that you wouldn't even come home. Why didn't you just tell me?
Zach: Tell you why? It's something I should take care of, and I will take care of it. I'll get rid of these guys.
Kendall: The phone call --
Zach: The phone call.
Kendall: So, that's it, then? You just have to walk out that door and leave?
Zach: Yeah, I have to.
Kendall: For how long?
Zach: Until it's done. Going to have some people watching the house.
Kendall: That's just great. That makes me feel so much better.
Zach: Kendall --
Kendall: No, Zach, I don't want to be apart from you anymore.
Zach: You think I want that?
Kendall: Then stay. If we're gonna have someone watch over the house and protect me and the boys, I want it to be the one person I trust most in this world. I want it to be you.
J.R.: I don't want you to leave like this. I would say that to anyone who had nowhere to go or didn't know what their next move was.
Annie: We are not your problem.
J.R.: Yeah, but if I can be part of the solution -- stay at the beach cottage.
Annie: What are you up to?
J.R.: Nothing. Can't someone just make a friendly offer?
Annie: Sure, someone can. But an offer from you to me? We can't accept that.
J.R.: Why not? No one's using it.
Annie: Are you being serious right now? You're in the middle of a custody case. If Marissa thinks you're stashing me away like some mistress, she would freak out, go for blood.
J.R.: She won't find out.
Annie: You're serious about this?
J.R.: I'm trying here. You want to give Emma a real home?
Annie: More than anything.
J.R.: This will give you time to do that. Take the cottage as long as you want. I owe you that much.
Annie: I am beyond grateful.
[Doorbell rings]
Annie: I'll make sure Emma knows not to say anything to anybody about where we're staying.
J.R.: It has to stay that way.
[Door closes]
[Knock on door]
Madison: Hi. I hope I'm not interrupting anything. Your housekeeper let me in.
J.R.: No problem.
Madison: I wasn't sure where to look for you. I'm glad you're still here.
J.R.: I'll just let you two talk.
Madison: I have a message from Ryan. I'm pretty sure you're not gonna like it any more than I do.
Ryan: Madison, it's me again. I'm so sorry about the way things ended here. The last thing that I want to do is hurt you. Obviously, I'm doing that right now, and I want to fix this. Let's have dinner, ok? Tonight? Please? Obviously, we have a lot to talk about.
Greenlee: If you're waiting for me to tell you that I think Ryan's guilty, forget it. I don't think that. I can't think that.
Jack: Then let me do your thinking for you, Greenlee. You are on trial for murder, murder. This is no time to let your judgment be clouded.
Greenlee: I'm not an idiot. I'm well aware of what's going on.
Jack: Then act like it.
Greenlee: What do you want me to do?
Jack: I want you to be honest.
Greenlee: Now you think I'm lying to you?
Jack: Yes, I do. And worse, I think you're lying to yourself.
Greenlee: I don't know what that means. What would all of a sudden be clouding my judgment?
Jack: The fact that you're in love with Ryan.
Zach: I'm sorry to put you through this, but keeping you safe is more important. I'll fix it.
Kendall: Ok, so these partners --
Zach: What did I just say? I'll fix it. Trust me. Everything's gonna be ok.
Kendall: Not if you're not with us, it won't be.
Zach: Hey.
Kendall: Well, hello! Get over here.
Zach: Team Slater. Come on.
Kendall: Come here! Ha ha! Yeah, you told me. We are a team. If I have learned anything from scrubbing sinks at the hospital --
Spike: You scrub sinks?
Zach: She's good at it, too.
Kendall: I am. If I have learned anything, it's that trying to do something on your own only makes things worse. From now on, we are in this together every step of the way.
Zach: Every step of the way, huh?
Kendall: Yeah.
Zach: Ok.
Ian: I am going dancing!
Zach: [Locks the door] Come here!
Kendall: He's silly, isn't he? Isn't he silly? Come here, you. Get up here.
[Ian and spike giggling]
J.R.: Glad you're here. Your old man showed up here today.
Asher: Guy's really making the rounds today. I ran into him at Krystal's.
J.R.: Yeah? How did that go?
Asher: How do you think? Did he happen to mention anything about Halloween?
J.R.: No. Why would he?
Asher: Right. Why would he?
J.R.: Your father was never there for you.
Asher: Something like that.
J.R.: October 31st. Your mom was killed 20 years ago?
Asher: That's the day that my father took her life. Happy Halloween.
Caleb: Nice try with Junior. Ain't gonna be easy.
Erica: No. You've gotten him really riled up.
Caleb: I tried.
Erica: Caleb, the things that J.R. was saying about you -- he made it sound like he has actual information about you, things that he could hold over your head, personal information.
Caleb: Why don't we go inside?
Erica: No.
Caleb: J.R. doesn't know me.
Erica: No, he doesn't, but I do. Caleb, please tell me that if there were something out there, something that could cause us trouble as partners, you would tell me about that, wouldn't you?
Caleb: I think you should probably get on home. Jackson's probably waiting for you.
Erica: Caleb, if there's something that I should know, you really have to tell me.
Caleb: Dorothy, you know plenty already. You know more than most. I'll see you tomorrow, partner.
Annie: What am I supposed to tell Emma?
Madison: Nothing yet.
Annie: She can't lose Ryan. She just lost Scott. You can't let him do this.
Madison: Me?
Annie: I have been where you are, Madison. I was married to Ryan. I had his child, for God's sake, and I still lost him to Greenlee.
Madison: Whoa, whoa. Ryan's not going anywhere. We're tight. Really. What Ryan and I have is different.
Annie: I told myself that, too. But there's much more at stake now. Think of what Ryan could lose. His freedom, Emma, you, and all for Greenlee? Oh, she is so not worth it.
Madison: I'm not sure what you want me to do.
Annie: Convince Ryan to let Greenlee fry. It's the only way, Madison. You have to start fighting for him. Stop being such a nice girl, or you will lose him.
Greenlee: What I do or don't feel for Ryan is completely irrelevant. What matters is where we go from here. You need to decide if you're my lawyer or my father.
Jack: And you need to decide if you want to save yourself.
Greenlee: Of course, I do, but I also want to save Ryan, because yes, ok? I love him. It's my fault that David lost his life. I won't let Ryan lose his, too.
