Madison: Boo.

Frankie: I thought you were dead.

Madison: Do I look dead?

Frankie: Your father -- he told us that --

Madison: I know. I know. Not my idea, believe me. He took me away to recover. It was only later that I found out that he tried to -- paid everyone off to say that I was dead. That's my father. He's always trying to look out for the family name first. And when he found out what I'd done to you and what I'd done to Henry, he thought our family's reputation was toast. He wanted to set up a life for me somewhere else. But, Frankie, I still have to live with my old life.

Frankie: So you sent me that text? Why? Why are you here?

Randi: [Gasps] Oh, my God!

Madison: Wait, wait, wait! Listen, please. I know I have no right to even ask, but before you call anyone, please let me explain.

Kat: "Hiya. How are you? You good?" "Me? Oh, I'm great. Thanks for asking. Why are you being so chatty and friendly?"

Aidan: Kat, I'm sorry. I've got hot food in here. I want to get it upstairs before it gets cold.

Kat: Well, you're too late for that, "Tom." Your little lady friend? She got hungry. She didn't wait for you. She came down and raided the whole fridge.

Aidan: Did she seem ok?

Kat: Oh, yeah. She's fine. Well, until she saw the newspaper I had lying out. It seemed to make her a little upset.

Aidan: Oh, no.

Kendall: He married her. That's why Zach didn't want to tell me what was going on in Pine Valley. Adam is totally protecting Annie, and now they'll never convict her. It's over, Aidan, all of this. Everything -- it's over.

Zach: What do you want?

Erica: We have to figure out what our next move is, and we have to do it together: The three of us.

Zach: The three of us?

Ryan: Yeah, I'm not crazy about it either, Zach. But Erica's right. If we want to clear Kendall's name, it's best that we do it together.

Scott: Ok. You are going to rest, and you are going to eat exactly what they told you to.

Adam: Oh, I'm fine. I'm not gonna spend the next two weeks in bed like an invalid.

Scott: You just had a heart attack. You need to rest.

Adam: I know my limits. I'm not about to run a marathon or inhale meat lovers' pizzas. If anybody should be fussed over, it should be my pregnant wife now. I'm so sorry we had to postpone our honeymoon.

Annie: Oh, no. All that matters is that now I am Mrs. Adam Chandler. What do you say we go inside and take a load off?

Adam: All right.

Annie: Will you tell Lucretia we're home? Maybe get him some tea?

Scott: Yeah, you bet.

Annie: Ok. Oh, come here. Come on. Ohh! Alone at last.

Adam: Yes.

J.R.: Alone? Not quite.

Kendall: That is all I had left: The chance that Zach would get to Adam and have him turn on Annie, or maybe get her to admit what she did. I don't know. Now I don't know if I'm ever gonna be able to go home or see Zach. I don't know if I'm gonna be able to hold my children again. I don't know --

Aidan: Stop, stop, stop. I'm not gonna let you give up on your life.

Kendall: Aidan, doesn't there come a time when you have to face reality and plan for a different future?

Aidan: Yes. But you're not there yet. And when you are, you'll know. Believe me.

Kendall: But what about you? Everything that you've been risking for me. You're -- you're on the run, you're stuck all because of me.

Aidan: I'm not stuck, Kendall. Ok? I'm not. I'm not stuck. There's no place I'd rather be. All right. You're gonna get through this. I promise.

Kendall: I don't know what I would do if you weren't here. I know I wouldn't be able to do this alone. Thank God you're here. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry.

Randi: I don't know how the hell you're still alive, but I'm not listening to a damn word you have to say. Jesse? You need to get back here now. Madison North is alive, and she's standing in the middle of our living room. He's on his way. Find something to tie her up with.

Frankie: Randi, if Madison wanted to run, she would've done it by now.

Madison: No. It's ok. I understand. There's no reason why either one of you should trust me.

Randi: Hands behind yourself.

Frankie: Ok, um, if your father set up a new life for you, why'd you come back?

Madison: I still have to live with what I've done, and I realized that I couldn't. I want to turn myself in. But I don't know how to do that without implicating you and Jesse.

Jesse: Oh, my God.

Ryan: Adam's been walking along the edge for a while now, right? We've gotten him so close to confessing, and yet he still goes through with the wedding. Like he can just go on with his life after killing his brother.

Erica: Well, I think that Adam must feel that he owes Annie his life. Because that night at the cemetery he wanted to kill himself, not Annie. So I'm sure that he feels that Annie stopped him from committing suicide.

Ryan: Which doesn't make any sense. Because a normal person would be so ripped up with guilt, right? They probably wouldn't want to go on. They'd want to end it one way or the other. But not Adam? He throws a wedding, goes on with a new life.

Erica: Well, I thought I knew Adam better than anybody, but this is just crazy.

Zach: Well, there is someone that knows Adam better than anyone and loved Stuart as much as Adam did.

J.R.: Well, would you look at the happy couple. All that's missing is an article in the business section where the pundits marvel how the wise corporate fox could be insane enough to get married without a prenup. I can't wait to see what the Chandler stock numbers do as soon as the shareholders catch wind of that little gem.

Adam: I built this family's business. No one tells me how to run it.

J.R.: I'm not questioning that. I'm questioning your sanity. The lack of a prenup -- that's a symptom. The disease? Much more tough to diagnose. How can a man kill his own brother and then happily move on with a new wife and a baby on the way? You're not even going to try to deny it, are you?

Adam: I'm not going to discuss this with you.

J.R.: So it is true. You killed Uncle Stuart? Oh, perfect. The gang's all here. Now all three of you can sit around and rationalize the death of Uncle Stuart.

Scott: J.R., just stop, ok? He just got out of the hospital.

J.R.: Just tell the truth, Dad. Please, for Uncle Stuart's sake. Is she holding something over your head? Because if she's blackmailing you, I can help you get rid of it. I'm your son. I am still in this family.

Adam: Oh, yes. You've shown just how reliable and trustworthy you can be. I know who to trust and who not to trust. We're starting a whole new generation of Chandlers here. Hopefully, first a new son.

J.R.: Yeah. Well, better luck with that one. God help him when he finds out who his father really is.

Jesse: Untie her.

Frankie: Dad, if she goes to jail, you and Randi won't be far behind.

Jesse: If you wanted to fake your death, which obviously you did, what the hell are you doing here? Why the hell couldn't you just stay away?

Madison: I am trying to do the right thing. I'm just trying to figure out a way to do that that won't send you and Randi to prison.

Jesse: Well, there really is no way to do that, now, is there?

Madison: Well, what if I say that I took the body out of the hotel? That I put it in a car and sent it over that cliff?

Jesse: What if I say that while that was all happening, you were back here at the casino with a whole lot of people seeing your ass? What if I say that'll never fly?

Randi: Which you already knew. You are still playing games with us. You know, this is just some sick thing you're trying to do to me. You still blame me for the way your husband treated you.

Madison: No. No, I just hadn't thought of the time line issue. Look, I don't expect either one of them to believe me, but I tried to prove to you that I was sincere. I gave you back the key to that safe deposit box, tried to give your family their lives back. You can't deny that.

Frankie: No, I can't. Just as you can't deny that you've done everything you can to try to hurt us.

Madison: Guilty as charged. But I'm not the one who's trying to hurt all of us anymore. It's my father.

Annie: I know he's your son, but he can't be trusted. He's proven that time and time again.

Adam: I don't -- I don't want to talk about it.

Annie: I'm just worried that if you keep -- it upsets --

Adam: I said I don't want to talk about it.

Scott: Hey, hey, hey, hey. Just listen, ok? I want you to stop and think before you do anything that you can't take back. All right? Look, I know you hate Annie. But you don't hate your dad. I don't care what's gone down in the past. You don't hate him.

J.R.: You don't know anything.

Scott: I know that he's your family. I'm your family. I want to help.

J.R.: You're not a Chandler. You're simply the adopted son of the one man I ever truly cared about in this family. But, hey, I don't think I'm a Chandler anymore. No, not anymore.

Erica: You think J.R. knows?

Zach: Well, if he doesn't know, maybe somebody should tell him.

Ryan: J.R. was crazy about Stuart. I mean, if he does suspect Adam, I think it's got to be tearing him up inside.

Erica: Well, the one you think would be most torn up would be Scott. But I think Annie's been working on him, too.

Zach: Junior's gonna want justice. We have to convince him that he's the one that can get it done.

Ryan: I don't know. I mean, J.R.'s relationship with his dad was very complicated, but he's always taken a lot of pride in his family. I think J.R. would go to great lengths to protect Little A, never mind his dad.

Zach: I have an idea. Why don't we find a reason why this could work, not the reason why it can't?

Erica: Oh, come on. Would you just stop it, both of you? If we think that J.R. is our best shot, then, please, let's just go find him.

Aidan: Forget it.

Kendall: Done. You know what? It is time to rethink everything. I figure I have two options. We can continue like this: Running and hiding and praying for the impossible. Or I can rethink the whole damn thing.

Aidan: Go on.

Kendall: It's over, Aidan. I've lost. I'm gonna turn myself in. I figure if I do that, if I do that voluntarily, then maybe they'll give me a lighter sentence. Maybe they'll be easier on me. That way, I can at least see the people that I love during visiting hours. I mean, this is all I've got left. I am going back to Pine Valley today. I am gonna go.

Aidan: Are you joking with me right now? You're joking, right? After me risking my life for you, to get you this far, and you're gonna change your mind? I don't think so, Kendall. You're gonna stay here with me. We're gonna see this through to the end. What the hell happened to you, Kendall? It used to be when you got bad news, it used to make you angry. You used to fight. It primed you for a fight. And now you're just giving up on your life and on your freedom. You're being selfish, if you want the truth.

Kendall: Ok, Aidan, it's not -- it's not that I'm ungrateful for everything you've done, but this is not about you. You can afford to disappear. You can afford to start over and become someone else. I can't. I have to do what's best for me, and I have to face reality. And as my friend, I hope you would understand that.

Aidan: I can't let you do that. You're giving up before you have to.

Kendall: Ok, can you please just leave and give me some time to think, please? I just need to be alone right now. Please.

[Aidan walks out of the room]

Jesse: All right, um, I'm gonna have to take you downtown.

Frankie: Ok. And what about Randi, and what about you?

Jesse: Randi will be ok. I'm gonna take the fall.

Randi: No, Jesse! No, you can't do that. I won't let you.

Jesse: It's not up for discussion.

Madison: Please, there has to be another way.

Jesse: Would you agree to be booked under an alias till I can figure out what the hell I'm gonna do?

Madison: Yes. On one condition: That you find a way to protect yourself and Randi.

Annie: Don't think about J.R. Think about us. We have so much to look forward to. We have the baby coming, our lives together. I just want you to be happy.

Adam: Yeah.

[Knock on door]

Scott: Hey -- sorry. But there's a conference call from the board of directors. They're worried about your health. I tried to reassure them, but --

Adam: I'll take it in the study. Um, I won't be long.

Annie: Ok.

Adam: Thank you.

Annie: Mm-hmm.

Scott: Hey, what -- what the hell was that? The man just had a heart attack.

Annie: He is planning a future around this baby: This baby that he thinks I am pregnant with. It is what is keeping him going right now, so I damn well better get pregnant for real, and fast.

Scott: Yeah. Well, you getting pregnant isn't gonna do either one of you a damn bit of good if you kill him trying.

J.R.: Can I get a glass of water?

Waitress: Sure thing.

J.R.: Thanks.

[Pop music playing at ConFusion]

Zach: We need to talk.

J.R.: Not now. It's not a good time.

Zach: Well, I don't have the luxury of waiting for you to feel better. Kendall's on the run. She needs your help.

J.R.: Kendall's beyond my help.

Zach: Now, you know that your daddy killed Stuart, right?

J.R.: I don't know what the hell you're talking about.

Erica: J.R., I know this is very difficult to accept, but it is the truth.

J.R.: Wow. Desperation times three. Let me guess: You want me to help you prove that so she can go home, and she go free.

Zach: That's exactly what we want.

J.R.: Thank you.

Waitress: Uh-huh. Can I get anything for anyone else?

Zach: Not for me, thank you.

J.R.: I don't know who killed my Uncle Stuart. But I do know that I'm not gonna work with any one of you.

Ryan: Come on, J.R. You loved Stuart.

J.R.: Yes. And he's gone. So how's it gonna ease my pain by trying to pin it on my father?

Erica: Because justice would be done, J.R. My daughter is innocent. Do this for Kendall, then, please.

Zach: You owe her, Junior.

J.R.: No, don't give me any of that crap. Kendall and I made peace. I'm sorry for what you guys are going through. I don't want any more of this. No more family dramas. I'm done.

Ryan: Come on, J.R., think about it. Do you really want Annie to win this?

J.R.: Why don't you open your eyes, Ryan? She already has won. She married my dad. She's having his baby. Hell, she's probably already redecorating the nursery as we speak. I'm sorry. You three are on your own.

Ryan: Oh, my God. Annie is pregnant. So now we know how Annie got Adam to stuff his guilt this entire time.

Erica: Of course. Children have always trumped everything for Adam.

Zach: I don't care why he's doing it. I want to prove that he's guilty, and the one person that can help us do that just walked out the door.

Ryan: J.R.'s doing exactly what I would do.

Zach: What does that mean? We should've pushed harder.

Ryan: We're not gonna get anything from J.R. We got to think of something else, Zach.

Zach: Something else? I got it.

Ryan: Look, Erica, the only reason that Adam is doing what Annie is telling him to is because she's trapped him.

Erica: Of course, she's trapped him. The only reason that Adam has stopped dead in his tracks from confessing is because of the baby. [Sighs]

Ryan: If there really is a baby.

Annie: How long can I wait, Scott? Listen to me. If too much time passes before I can conceive, Adam will never believe that I was pregnant before the wedding.

Scott: Get pregnant some other time. Don't risk his life.

[Phone rings]

Scott: Yeah? Yeah, hang on. I will be right back. No, Roger, you have got the wrong report, ok? I'll go get you a copy. Hang on.

Annie: Hi! Everything ok with the board?

Adam: I growled at them, let them know I'm still in charge.

Annie: Mm-hmm. My wonderful Superman. I was just sitting here, and I was kind of feeling sad about not having a honeymoon. But then you walked in, and I realized it doesn't matter where we are. You certainly do not look like a man who just had a heart attack. You look like you could run a marathon.

Adam: Ooh. Really?

Annie: Really.

Adam: Really? Hmm. Well, I wish I could.

Annie: Mm-hmm?

Adam: But I -- I'm really damn tired, in fact.

Annie: Well, um, why don't I go upstairs? Go to bed with you?

Adam: Well, that's the most tempting offer I've had in a very long -- I really do need to get some sleep. So I'm gonna get a quick bite and go to bed. Ok?

Annie: Ok.

[Annie sighs and pours herself a stiff drink]

Annie: Ahh.

Ryan: Bottoms up.

[Key turns in lock]

Marissa: J.R.? Are you ok? Oh, no. What is it? Did something happen?

J.R.: I'm free. My whole life I've wanted acceptance from my father. I've been banging my head against the walls in that house. The only thing I know is tied up in that family, but not anymore. It's Independence Day.

Kat: What is it about Kendall?

Aidan: Oh, Kat, it's complicated.

Kat: No kidding. Is there anything I can do?

Aidan: No. You've been great. You've done enough.

Kat: Look, I owe you a lot. Ok? You came into my life when I was pretty messed up. I don't know what would've happened without you.

Aidan: Well, Justin was a good mate. I owed him that much to take care of you and make sure you was ok.

Kat: Well, you -- you did more than that. You made me fall in love with you.

Aidan: I didn't mean for that to happen, Kat. I mean, you were in a bad way. You were hurting so bad. I just wanted to look after you, that's all.

Kat: I know. I know. And I only bring it up because I will always care about you, Aidan. And right now you're the one who's hurting, and I wouldn't be a very good friend if I didn't try to help by pointing something out.

Aidan: Which is?

Kat: I don't think it's gonna work out with you and Kendall. In case you haven't noticed, she's in love with someone else.

Aidan: Yeah, well, I don't see her husband here. Do you?

Kat: Really? Come on! She wants to be with him! But you're not giving up? Which -- ok, it brings me back to my original question, which is, what is it about this chick?

Aidan: Oh, maybe I'm tired of coming in second, all right, to Ryan and Zach. Maybe I'm just -- I'm just sick of losing. Ok, I'm not losing this time. Not this time.

[Laptop beeps and message appears: "Z writes: Are you there?"

Kendall's voice: "Yes. But not for long. I'm coming home."

Ryan: Drinking in your condition? Rumor has it that you are with child.

Annie: Three different security companies, and we still can't keep you out of here. This happens to be a soda. But you're right. I don't need the caffeine. So if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go get a guard to escort you on out of here.

Ryan: I think you're gonna want to hear what I have to say, Annie. I came here to talk to you -- I mean, before I talk to Adam.

Annie: What are you talking about?

Ryan: Your baby. I'm just really curious. I want to know how exactly you got pregnant.

Annie: Well, Ryan, when you have a man and a woman that care about each other very much, they have what we adults call sex.

Ryan: Yes, I'm sure you did. Just as I'm sure you can't get pregnant. So either it was the immaculate conception or -- and I'm really leaning towards the "or" here -- you're faking the whole thing.

[Knock on door]

Guard: I'm sorry, Mr. Chandler, but Ms. Kane insisted on seeing you immediately.

Adam: Not tonight, Erica. I'll save you the trip of coming back tomorrow. My story has not changed. Kendall is guilty of killing my brother. Now, go away.

Erica: That's not why I'm here.

Adam: You have one minute.

Erica: I heard the news about Annie's pregnancy. I came to offer my congratulations.

Adam: And?

Erica: And I just have to ask, was it planned? Was it an accident?

Adam: That has to be the most damned "it's none of your business" remark I've ever heard. Huh.

Erica: Well, I just wanted to know how crazy you really are. I mean, it wasn't enough that you married the lying little gold digger? You had to get her pregnant, too?

Adam: I'm gonna catch that guard.

Erica: Adam, I really thought you had more smarts than that. And anyway, I really thought that you were capable of much more genuine emotion where Stuart was concerned and how he really died.

J.R.: I walked away. And I couldn't have done it if you weren't there to walk to. You and Little Adam are everything to me. I don't need anything else. The only think I ever learned from Adam or that house was how not to live, what not to do, how not to behave. Adam treated my mother like hell. He used all of us. And I tell you right now, and I promise, I will never, ever treat you or Little Adam like that. You do believe me, don't you?

Marissa: Yes. I've never heard you call him "Adam" before. He was always Dad.

J.R.: Because he's not my dad anymore.

Zach's voice: "You can't come back. Not yet. It's too risky."

Kendall's voice: "You didn't tell me about the wedding. Annie's protected now. It's over."

Zach's voice: "No. Stay put. Annie didn't do it. Adam killed Stuart."

Kendall's voice: "Adam?"

Zach's voice: "We're close to proving it. If you come home now, you'll ruin everything. I'll tell you all when you come home. Not now. Not yet."

Kendall's voice: "I was just about to leave. I fought with Aidan about it."

Zach's voice: "You have to listen to Aidan. He's trying to help you. You can't come back yet."

Aidan: Kendall and I were -- we were together a long time ago, and we were in love. And I've never stopped loving her. And I've been out with many girls since, but they have either died or they've been in love with somebody else. Well, Kendall is here right now, and she is with me. And she's not going anywhere.

Jesse: You heard me -- solitary cell, "Jane Doe" booking, no contact with anyone without my permission. I don't care. Just make it happen. So you want to tell me why I feel you're playing me?

Madison: Because I've done it before in the past. But you believe me, don't you? I saw the look on your face that night at the hospital. I saw that you believe me.

Randi: That's because Frankie always tries to see the best in people. He is a good man: Better than you'll ever deserve.

Jesse: You're gonna have to put something on. We're going to the station. I think I might have something out in my car. Come on.

Randi: I meant that. You're a good person, which is why you want to believe her. But, Frankie, that woman is evil, and she is up to something.

Jesse: I nearly killed that woman in a car accident. And she's right. I do believe in her.

Randi: Yeah? Well, then you're a better person than I am, because I don't believe a damn word out of that bitch's mouth.

Jesse: Hey!

[Thud]

Frankie: Shoot.

Randi: You see? I'm calling the cops.

Jesse: No, no, no, no. Wait.

Randi: What? This was all some sick setup of hers.

Jesse: No. I was jumped.

Frankie: Wait. What are you saying?

Jesse: I'm saying that two guys jumped me and grabbed Madison.

Marissa: What can I do?

J.R.: Nothing. Wait. There is something.

[J.R. chuckles]

[Music playing]

J.R.: Dance with me.

Marissa: Ha ha! What?

J.R.: Yeah. I want to feel you in my arms. Dance with me like it's New Year's Eve, and we have our whole future in front of us. Yeah.

Singer: You might just be the boy I've always known I might be lost in something beautiful we might have that --

J.R.: Hey, buddy. Where's Winifred?

Little Adam: She forgot the groceries in the car. What are you doing?

Marissa: Um --

J.R.: We were dancing. You want to join us?

Little Adam: Yeah.

J.R.: Yeah? Come here.

[J.R. chuckles]

J.R.: Here. Come here. Yeah? We'll all dance together.

Marissa: You're a good dancer.

J.R.: You have a good day today? Yeah? Did you have fun? Good.

Erica: I miss Stuart so much. You know, he still finds his way into my dreams. I miss his smile, and I miss his laugh. I miss his basic goodness. Do you miss any of that, Adam? I thought you did. The tears I saw you cry the day of his funeral were very real. And you said so that day. You said you'd lost the better part of yourself. I'll never forget the depth of your grief, and I thought you wouldn't either. But I guess I was wrong. Because this baby Annie's carrying seems to have just pushed any memory you have of Stuart out of sight, out of mind. How lucky for you. You found a way to go on with your life. Well, wherever Stuart is, I am sure that he is very, very happy for you.

Annie: What are you babbling about, I can't get pregnant? You have no idea what you're talking about.

Ryan: Actually, I remember quite clearly. You probably don't, because you were just a little bit out of it at the time. It was the night you miscarried, and you lost our child, Annie. And the doctor told me that it would be a miracle if you ever got pregnant again.

Annie: You're lying.

Ryan: I didn't tell you, because I didn't want you to be more upset than you already were.

Annie: Well, he was grossly mistaken. Excuse me.

Ryan: You're using this, Annie. You're pretending to be pregnant to keep Adam from coming forward with the truth about what he did to Stuart.

Annie: You're wrong.

Ryan: What happens when he finds out there's no baby? It's what's keeping him going right now, isn't it? I mean, I was gonna tell him myself, but I thought that I would give you the opportunity to do it. It'd be better coming from you, don't you think? Hey, good luck with that.

Zach's voice: "Do you understand?"

Kendall's voice: "Yes. I'll stay. I'll do what Aidan says. Tell me about the boys. I miss them so much."

Zach's voice: "They're good. They miss their mom. You'll see them soon. I promise I won't stop until you're back home."

Kendall's voice: "I love you so much. I have to go. Kiss the boys."

Zach's voice: "Love you."

Kendall: Aidan, I owe you an apology.

Aidan: What changed?

Kendall: I forgot how much I can count on you. I'm sorry.

[Kendall hugs Aidan]

Aidan: That will never change.
