[Thunder]

Angie: Hey, gorgeous. How was your PT session?

Frankie: I'm ready to shake everyone's hand when I go in before the board.

Angie: Well, they're going to reinstate you. I'm not worried. Have you looked outside? There are some angry clouds out there.

Frankie: Yeah, they're calling for storms. Brown suit or blue suit?

Angie: The brown. Well, I didn't know that you wanted the blue. You know what? How about, "Thanks, Mom, for stopping by my place to pick it up"?

Frankie: Ok. I'm sorry. Thank you, Mother.

Angie: Ha ha! Listen, I'm thinking that later we'll plan a family dinner to celebrate your reinstatement.

Frankie: Oh, I don't want a big dinner.

Angie: Well, maybe other people want to celebrate. Your dad and Natalia have the night off, and Randi likes my pot roast.

Frankie: Ok, Mom, just stop. I can get my job back, you can make pot roast, but my marriage is still a wreck.

Jesse: Hey. Beautiful daughter-in-law.

Randi: [Sighs]

Jesse: Ok, just trying to pull a smile from either one of you. Got this guy crashing on my couch for the last couple of nights. I think you're married to him?

Randi: Jesse, I haven't even had my morning coffee yet, ok?

Jesse: Randi, look, nothing happened between Madison and Frankie in that hotel room, ok? I mean, did he screw up? Yeah. He's going to the hospital board today to get his job back.

Randi: I'm filing for divorce.

Annie: I had the strangest dream last night. We were at my trial, but the judge decided to throw out the charges against me and marry us instead. And you know how at the reception the groom slides the garter off the bride's leg? Well, this time instead you took off my ankle monitor, and when you threw it, you hit Ryan right in the head. It was fantastic. Adam, what's wrong?

Adam: There's a storm coming. It keeps taking me back to that night that my brother was killed.

Annie: Try not to think about it.

Adam: I should think about it. I owe Stuart that much.

Zach over baby monitor: Look who's here. Someone missed you very much. Come on, guys, play.

Liza: Spike and Emma.

Zach: All right, play nice. And don't eat those  -- very expensive.

Liza: Pretty.

Zach: Come over here.

Liza: Yeah. Yeah.

Zach: How did you get Adam away from Ryan?

Liza: Oh, I didn't. No. Colby is good friends with their babysitter Corrina, so when Ryan went to work, I told her to go over there and to relieve her. I thought you'd want to visit with Spike, too.

Zach: Thank you.

Liza: Mm-hmm. You said you were ok with us.

Zach: I said I'd go ahead with it. I didn't say I was ok with it. She's scared of that house.

Liza: I know. But as long as Annie is not willing to get rid of her latest ankle accessory, bringing Emma to the Chandlers' is our only way of getting together. It's our best shot of getting information out of Annie to clear Kendall.

Spike: Mom, come out and play.

Zach: He's just missing his mom.

Liza: Hmm. I wonder if he sees Kendall at Ryan's, too.

Zach: Come on. Play with your brother and sister. I'm gonna go upstairs and get you something really nice, ok? Keep an eye on them. I'll be right back.

Liza: Mm.

Emma: Why did Spike talk to Aunt Kendall like she's here?

Liza: Well, because he misses her very much, and sometimes he pretends that he sees her. And I know you miss your mom, too, and maybe -- maybe you'll get to go see her today.

Emma: My mom's coming here?

Liza: No, no, she can't, but Zach can take you to the Chandlers'. Hmm? Oh, hey, look, listen, I understand why you don't like that house. You know, I was there that scary night, too, and you know what helped me? Was talking about it with my friends. We're friends, aren't we?

Kendall: Zach, I -- I had to see Spike. I've missed him so much. You're not gonna yell at me?

Zach: With Liza downstairs? No. Only toddlers can yell at invisible Kendall.

Kendall: Well, maybe if you stop inviting her here.

Zach: I didn't invite her here. She brought Emma so I could take her to Annie.

[Thunder]

Kendall: Wait a minute. Ryan left Spike and Emma alone with Liza?

Zach: It took some maneuvering on Liza's part.

Kendall: Ok, since when is this happening? I thought you were against using Emma to get the truth about Annie --

Zach: Well, I'm not now. It's your idea.

Kendall: Ryan's not gonna be very happy with the fact that you went behind his back.

Zach: I'll deal with Ryan. Liza saw an opening, she took it.

Kendall: Wow. Her powers of persuasion must be top notch. She was able to convince you to take Emma to Annie when I couldn't.

Zach: I'm taking Emma to Annie for you, because I want you to be cleared of Stuart's murder, so you can take care of the boys, but if you keep interfering, I can't do that.

Kendall: Ok, fine. Take Emma to Annie. Take Liza while you're at it, too. I really want to spend time with my boys.

Zach: Ok. I think that's a great idea. I'll tell Liza I'll just leave the boys here alone. I'll put a video on for them.

Kendall: No, no. Zach, come on. I miss Spike so much. I haven't seen him for days --

Zach: It's not gonna happen. I'm sorry.

Kendall: Well, tell Liza she can't play house here.

Zach: I'll tell Annie you said hi.

Kendall: I -- she has kids of her own to screw up.

Zach: Hey, do me a favor.

[Thunder]

Jesse: Randi, you can't just kick Frankie to the curb and end your marriage because he misstepped a couple of nights.

Randi: Honestly, I don't blame him. I killed a man. I got his father involved in a cover up, and I brought home a baby that I didn't even want to give back. Frankie deserves another medal just for hanging in that long.

Jesse: But you're the one trying to walk away here.

Randi: Yeah, for his own good. You know what? Let him get his job back, let him throw himself into his work, and I don't know, I modeled at Fusion for, like, five minutes. I'll go to New York and try that.

Jesse: Oh, good, so you both become, what, a couple of lonely workaholics? That's the plan? Randi, your marriage has been tested. Guess what? It passed. Now, the love I saw between the two of you on your wedding day, it is still there. Surviving the hard stuff is what makes a marriage worth it, and you go find your husband and you talk to him.

[Randi leaves ConFusion]

Madison: A hundred bucks says they're divorced before the leaves fall off the trees.

Annie: Maybe you should eat something. We can do some wedding planning until the storm blows over.

Adam: I can't believe I'm planning a wedding.

Annie: I know. Isn't it exciting?

Adam: No. I can't believe I'm planning it now. I should be honoring Stuart's memory, not going to cake tastings and fittings.

Annie: Ok, I'll take care of the cake.

[Thunderclap]

Annie: Adam, listen to me, I know you loved your brother so much, but from what I've heard about Stuart, he wouldn't want us mourning his death. He'd want us celebrating his life, life in general, and what better way to celebrate than a Chandler wedding?

Adam: I just think I should have held off.

Annie: No, no. You should hold on. You should hold on to happiness and fresh starts. I really think you'll feel better if you eat something. Here. Here we go. Here. Take that, ok?

[Adam puts the plate down]

Annie: Ok, maybe later. Um, all I'm saying is things happen for a reason. Well, what I mean by that is there was a reason that we met that night. We saved each other.

Adam: Stuart needed saving. I should have saved him.

Annie: But you couldn't.

Adam: I couldn't because... of you.

Annie: You think it's my fault you couldn't save Stuart?

Adam: If you hadn't been in this house, I would have been right here with Stuart. I would have taken that bullet for him.

Annie: You were drugged and disoriented. I wasn't going to just abandon you.

Adam: Still, I should have done it.

Annie: Listen to me, I am not going to let you do this to yourself. What happened to Stuart was not your fault. Kendall killed him, and she's paying for it, and it is sad and tragic that you lost your brother, but Stuart is at peace now.

Adam: I doubt that I ever will be.

[Thunder]

Angie: Um, Randi wasn't home when I stopped by to pick up your suit, in case you were wondering.

Frankie: The board members should be here any minute now.

Angie: You know what? I cannot just sit here and not talk about this. Now, whatever's happening between you and Randi, it can be fixed.

Frankie: Fixed? I was drunk in another woman's bed.

Angie: Well, something had to give. Frankie, look, you have been through hell these past few months. Now, I was disappointed finding you like that, but nothing happened. Madison took advantage because you were drunk.

Frankie: Oh, so what, just put it on her? You can't do that. Randi's hurting because of me, because of what I did, my choices, and I hate it. I just hate it.

Angie: Then tell Randi that.

Frankie: Randi ain't trying to hear nothing I got to say right now.

Angie: You know what, you're not even trying. Now, look, I am done playing personal concierge, so that you don't have to face your wife.

Frankie: You know, where are these people anyway?

Angie: Do you love Randi or not?

Frankie: Yes, I love her.

Angie: Then after the meeting, you find her, you tell her, and you work it out. Because Madison, the woman is just crazy. I want you to just steer clear of her, because she is nothing but toxic.

Madison: You know, fathers make better bankrollers than couples counselors. You can't control Frankie's love life any more than my father could control mine. I mean, he tried to keep me from marrying Henry, knew that he was only in it for the money, but I didn't listen. It was just the kind of girl I was. At least I'm not the kind that Randi is. She's right, you know, about how she's bringing Frankie down. You should do your son a favor -- let her throw him back.

Jesse: Why, so you can reel him back in?

Madison: Maybe I have a little crush.

Jesse: Impressive. From blackmailing to home wrecking. You should be proud.

Madison: Randi ruined my marriage first, ok. You have no idea the stress that I was under.

Jesse: Like the stress you put her under? The stress that can bring on a miscarriage?

Madison: Oh, please, I don't have to take this.

Jesse: That's all you do is take. Haven't you taken enough?

Madison: No.

Jesse: Then take this. You keep messing with my family, I will end it. I'm not talking about prison time.

Zach: Here's a picture of your mom. Bring it to your dad's house, ok? Go play with your brother. Liza tell you about your surprise?

Liza: She doesn't want to go.

Zach: You don't want to see your mom?

Emma: Bring her here.

Liza: Sweetie, I told you we can't.

Zach: I know you don't want to go to that house, but know that I'm gonna be there, and I'm gonna protect you, and if you don't want to go, you don't have to.

Emma: I want to see Mommy here.

Zach: I know.

Emma: Will you hold my hand when we get there?

Zach: Of course, I will.

Emma: Ok.

Zach: Ok. I'm calling Annie.

Liza: All right.

[Phone rings]

Annie: Hello?

Zach: Hi. It's Zach. We've got Emma. We're coming over.

Annie: You're with her right now?

Zach: Yeah. Just make sure there's no security at the back entrance. We're coming to the terrace.

Annie: Ok. Zach, thank you.

[Thunder]

Liza: All right, good luck. I'll be waiting.

Zach: All right. See you later.

Liza: Bye. Yeah. Huh? Hey! Spike, stop!

[While Liza runs after Spike, Kendall opens her door]

Kendall: Spike, hi, my boy. Hi, sweetie, I've missed you so much. I have. I've missed you so much. Yes, I have.

Liza: Spike!

Kendall: Ok, Spikey, go back downstairs, ok? You have to go back downstairs, ok? I'll see you really, really soon, ok? I'll see you soon, ok? Ok?

Liza: Ha ha. Hi. There you are. What are you doing? What are you looking at? What's that? What's that?

Spike: Mom.

Liza: Oh.

Board Member: Congratulations, Dr. Hubbard.

Frankie: Thank you.

Angie: Thank you. Thank you. Thank you so much. He's back.

Frankie: Ah, it wasn't as bad as I thought.

Angie: Ha ha. Oh! Didn't take much convincing that you were ready to see patients. Now you might have to hold off on some procedures for a while, but... hi, Randi. Um, I think I will let you give her the news yourself. Hmm? Love you. Sweetie.

Randi: [Clears throat] Sounds like good news.

Frankie: I got my job back.

Randi: Congratulations.

Frankie: Thank you. I'm sorry about walking out on you and what happened at the casino --

Randi: Don't apologize.

Frankie: It's not enough?

Randi: It's too much.

Frankie: I don't understand.

Randi: I was thinking that maybe ... maybe we should get a divorce. Say something.

Frankie: I don't know what to say.

Liza: Oh, look, yes, now I see her. Well, hello, Kendall. What a pretty dress you have on. Doesn't she have on a pretty dress? Huh? What is she saying? She's saying, oh, maybe we should go down the stairs and play. How about that?

Spike: [Mumbles]

Liza: Well, sure. Um, you want to say good-bye to Mommy? Say bye-bye.

Spike: Mommy's in the wall.

Liza: Huh. Yeah.

Annie: No, I'm sure you'll feel better if you lie down in bed until the storm passes.

Adam: You trying to get rid of me?

Liza: Colby.

Colby: I thought you'd have the kids back by now. If Ryan finds out -- Where is Emma?

Liza: With Zach.

Colby: Where's Zach?

Liza: At the mansion.

Spike: Mom, come out.

Colby: Ryan's gonna freak out.

Liza: Ok, Colby, just calm down.

Colby: He doesn't want Emma near Annie. He'll fire Corrina.

Liza: Colby, trust me on this.

Colby: How can I? Emma's gone and Spike's --

Liza: Spike is fine. Spike?

Annie: Why would I want to get rid of you?

Adam: I don't blame you. I'm taking my grief out on you.

Annie: I understand, and I want to help. Adam, just -- just go upstairs.

Kendall: Come here, my Spikey, give me a hug. Oh, that's my boy. Ok, sweetie, you know you have to go back downstairs. I know, I know, I'm wearing blue, but you got to go downstairs, ok? Got to go downstairs, ok?

Colby: You need Emma to get Kendall out of jail? But she confessed.

Liza: Well, she's innocent. Can you watch Ian? Spike went to go find her.

Colby: Emma?

Liza: Kendall.

Annie: Sweet dreams.

[Kiss]

Emma: Mommy!

Annie: Hey, there's my baby girl! Hi. Oh, I've missed --

[Thunder]

Annie: Oh, sweetie, it's all right. It's ok.

[Emma fearfully hugs Annie tightly]

Kendall: I've missed you so much, my sweet boy.

[Inside her secret room, Kendall and Spike hug tightly]

Liza: Spike.

Liza: Spike. Spike, are you up here?

Kendall: Shh. Be quiet, be quiet.

Liza: Come on out. I'm baking cookies.

[Thunder]

Kendall: You know what? You have to go back downstairs, ok? I -- I love to see you, but you gotta go back downstairs with -- with Ian and Liza, ok? Ok? Because you know what? She's gonna lose your brother, and you have to make sure that doesn't happen. Look how she keeps losing you. Ok, Spikey? Spike.

Liza: How does that kid get around so fast? Spike!

Colby: What did you mean he went after Kendall? Wait, no one told him she's in jail?

Liza: No, he knows that she's not here, but Zach said sometimes he likes to pretend that she is. It's like an imaginary friend.

Colby: Is that healthy?

Liza: Let's worry about healthy later, ok?

Colby: You have to call Zach.

Liza: No. Not now.

Colby: Mom.

Liza: I'm not gonna worry him now. He's probably just -- he's hiding. He's afraid of this storm. Listen, would you watch your brother and Ian? Ok? Spike!

Randi: I talked to Jesse and --

Frankie: You ran this by my dad first?

Randi: I happened to see him.

Frankie: Great. Great.

Randi: Look, he doesn't think that we should get a divorce.

Frankie: Good to know. We used to be able to talk about everything, Randi. What happened to us?

Randi: What happened is that I killed a man, Frankie. Don't you get it? That is always gonna be between us. Henry North is more of a threat to our marriage dead than he was alive.

Frankie: That man was a threat to you that night you had to defend yourself.

Randi: I didn't have to get your father involved.

Frankie: Yeah, well, he covered for you, because he knew it was self-defense. And by the way, Henry North's death is a problem between us, because you won't let it go. But I guess I'm easier to let go of.

Randi: What -- you think this is easy for me?

Frankie: I don't know. I'm not the one talking about getting a divorce.

Randi: Frankie, I drove you to drink. I drove you to Madison. I don't want to keep hurting you.

Frankie: I got drunk and wound up with her, because I thought I was gonna lose you. I want our life back, Randi. I want you to forgive me. I want you to forgive yourself. I love you. Don't you get that? We're just getting started and now you want to quit?

Randi: I don't -- I don't want to quit. I want to be with you, because I love you.

[Frankie and Randi hug and kiss]

Kendall: All right, Spike, listen, I know Liza is really annoying, and she's not fun at all, but I really need you to go back downstairs --

[Spike fussing]

Kendall: Yes --

Liza: Spike! Ok, this is not funny, now. You come out right now!

Kendall: Go home, already.

[Thunder]

Annie: Emma, sweetie, it's okay. The storm's far away. You're -- you're safe here.

Zach: Mommy's right. We'll take care of you.

Annie: Well, I think I got it covered. Thank you for bringing her, but I think we need some girl time. What do you say?

Zach: I think I'll stay.

Annie: Zach, where am I gonna go? I'm wearing the ankle monitor.

Zach: I know, but I think Emma would feel more comfortable if I stayed, right?

Annie: Hmm? All right, then. Come here. Let's sit. Oh, I love you so much, and I have missed you so much. Do you miss Mommy?

Emma: Yes, just like Spike misses his mommy.

Adam: What's going on here?

Frankie: I would love to take you home, but I got to meet with David to get my papers together for my reinstatement.

Randi: It's a big day for you.

Frankie: Yeah, but you're the best part.

Randi: And you're mine. I'll be waiting, so just hurry home, ok?

Frankie: Yeah, as soon as I can.

Randi: Ok.

[Madison enters Frankie's office and closes the door behind her]

[Thunder]

Jesse: Thanks.

Angie: Hey, lover.

Jesse: Hey, babe, how you doing? How'd it go with Frankie?

Angie: Frankie starts right away.

Jesse: Can't tell you how good it is to hear some good news for a change.

Angie: Rough morning?

Jesse: I saw Randi. She's thinking about filing for divorce.

Angie: That's why she came to see Frankie.

Jesse: She went to the hospital?

Angie: Oh, God.

Jesse: Well, hey, that's a good thing. I told her about the meeting that Frankie was having and that she should go and try to work things out, but the way she left out of here, I wasn't sure whether I made things better or worse.

Angie: Better or worse is what they signed up for. They haven't even gotten to the better part.

Jesse: Well, the worse ain't over, believe me.

Angie: Not Madison again.

Jesse: She's talking about making a move on Frankie.

Angie: In her dreams! He knows better than to go anywhere near her now.

Jesse: Yeah, well, it ain't him I'm worried about. It's her. She keeps coming after us.

Angie: What is she threatening, Jesse?

Jesse: Actually, I threatened her. Big time.

Madison: I'm sorry your marriage tanked. Sometimes it's just not meant to be.

Frankie: Go home, Madison.

Madison: Hey, don't blow me off. Maybe you don't care if your brand-new ex goes to death row, but I can still ruin your father faster than you can say accessory to homicide. Hmm? Good. Well, now that I've got your attention, I was surfing the web last night... what do you know about organ harvesting, Dr. Hubbard? Yeah, that was my knee-jerk reaction, too. But do you know the kind of money we could make? I mean, with you back here at the hospital and Randi out of the way, I'm looking forward to establishing a very close working relationship.

Frankie: Yeah, well, I won't be selling organs with you, and I'm not going to bed with you either, because Randi and I, we're staying together.

Madison: But the way it looked, I thought --

Frankie: You thought what? You broke up my marriage? Ha ha. Here's the thing. Randi and I, we love each other.

Madison: Ok, don't patronize me. I know about love.

Frankie: Maybe you've given it, but you're never getting it. See, no one can ever love you.

Annie: Zach just showed up with Emma, a complete surprise.

Zach: While I was at work, Emma missed her mom, I saw an opportunity.

Adam: Well, yes, Emma, nice to see you. Zach, inside.

Zach: Nah, I should stay out here with her. It's not exactly Disney World, is it? And the storm coming.

Annie: We're fine. Go ahead. We're fine.

Annie: It's more fun when it's just the two of us anyway, huh?

Emma: Spike pretends his mommy's there when she's not.

Annie: Emma, sweetheart, I don't want you to worry about Kendall, ok? She's somewhere -- secure.

Emma: Jail. You can get her out.

Kendall: Mmm, good boy.

Colby: Anything?

Liza: No, no.

Colby: Maybe he slipped out of the house.

Liza: Oh, God, I hope not, not with this storm coming.

Colby: I'll go check outside. Ian's down for a nap, and Stuart's sleeping, too.

Liza: Ok, thank you, thank you. I'm gonna keep looking up here.

Colby: But you've already checked twice.

Liza: Yeah, I know. I'm just getting this feeling, you know. This is where he was when he was imagining Kendall.

Colby: Which room?

Liza: No. It was just right here in the hall. Would you please keep looking?

Colby: You better call Zach.

[Kendall shushes Spike while Liza examines the door to her room]

Adam: So is this a child for a child? Um...

Zach: What?

Adam: Ryan takes Spike from your home, and so you take Emma from his.

Zach: You shouldn't keep a daughter from her mother.

Adam: Well, it seems odd that you'd go to such extraordinary lengths for Annie.

Zach: Didn't do it for Annie. I did what was best for the kid.

Adam: Really? Talk to your wife lately?

Zach: Not since they put her away, no.

Adam: Still think she did it? You told me that you thought Kendall was guilty, that she shot my brother in the back right -- right there where you're standing. Tell me, tell me, Zach, are you writing off the mother of your children?

Emma: You got out of jail. Get Aunt Kendall out.

Annie: I can't. Sweetie, I don't want you worrying about Kendall anymore, ok? I want you to think about all those little girl things like slumber parties and playing dress up and -- and tell me about school. Are you excited to be back at school?

[When thunder sounds, Emma hears a gunshot and runs into her mother's arms]

Annie: Oh, it's ok.

Emma: Make the gun stop.

Annie: No, sweetheart, no more guns. No more guns. It's just thunder. Listen to me. Emma, what happened here that night, it was just an accident.

Emma: It was bad.

Annie: No, no, no. It was just an accident. It's like remember that time, that Christmas that you broke the angel ornament? It was ok. You weren't being bad, right? And you didn't get in trouble, because it was just an accident, and that's like what happened with the gun, ok? Look at me. It was just an accident, ok, baby? Just an accident. It's okay. It's ok.

Zach: Am I writing off the mother of my children? No, I'm not, but I can't count on Kendall either, not to raise those boys, not from where she is now, and the day will come when I have to explain to Spike and Ian that their mother is in prison, because she shot a good man, and I'm not looking forward to that day, Adam. Are we done?

Adam: You know, sometimes... sometimes I feel that I'm hovering above what happened that night. I see Stuart. He's there, waiting for me, tugging at his collar and -- and the tie that he's not used to wearing, and he thinks he sees something, hears something outside, sees a shadow, and then a lightning strike, a lightning strike. He sees -- glass shatters. He -- he suddenly feels something in his back, and he won't know what it is. He'll never know what it is, because he collapses right there, dead, gone! Perhaps what haunts me most is wondering what my brother's last memory was -- before his world went black.

Angie: Thank you. How specific were you with Madison?

Jesse: She knows that I will go outside the law to stop her. It's not what she said. It's just that, I don't know, it was that demented smile of hers.

Angie: That's all it took for you to snap?

Jesse: Angie, there are two kinds of people that fill up a jail: The ones that are driven by passion, greed, hate, and then there are the ones that are extremely -- extremely dangerous.

Angie: What drives them?

Jesse: Ahh -- I don't know. The pleasure they get from watching other people suffer. And that's Madison to a "T." I shouldn't have let her get to me. I pushed her too hard.

Angie: Maybe it wasn't hard enough. She can't keep doing this, Jesse. Coming after us, after Frankie, after Randi. You know what? Maybe you just needed to go after her ass and scare her to make her stop.

Jesse: Or maybe I just lit the fuse to a very loose cannon.

Madison: No one has ever loved me, but thanks for pointing it out. Did it feel good?

Frankie: No.

Madison: My father? He wanted a son. I was never enough for him. And we all know I was nowhere near enough for Henry. Ha! I wasn't always like this, you know. I mean, maybe I didn't have love, but I had hope. Till you get knocked down enough times.

[Madison sniffles]

Madison: Yeah, right. I should never have expected anyone would ever love me.

Frankie: Ok.

Madison: Get away from me! Hey, you don't want me. You sure as hell don't deserve me, ok? No man deserves me.

Frankie: Madison?

[Madison reaches for a heavy award on Frankie's desk]

Adam: Stuart's gone.

[As thunder explodes outside, Adam kneels over the spot where Stuart fell and died, then Zach walks out to the terrace]

Annie: Emma, do you understand me? No more worrying about the accident and no more talking about it with anybody, ok?

Emma: I won't tell anyone.

[Liza knocks on Kendall's door while she and Spike hide inside]
