[At ConFusion, Opal and Krystal admire the front cover of the "Pine Valley Bulletin" with the headline "LaKane with LaVengeance" over Erica's picture]

Opal: Ahh. Mmm!

Krystal: Oh, look who's here.

Opal: Hey.

Erica: Hey. How are you?

Opal: Did you see this?

Erica: Well, who knew that one little speech would get everybody so worked up?

Krystal: Well, you stood up against the system. People pay attention to that.

Opal: That took courage, girlfriend.

Erica: Well, I'm just hoping that it's as much a wake-up call for the network as it has been for the audience.

Opal: Mm-hmm.

Erica: Oh, Shirley. You made it. Shirley Klein is the senior vice president of programming at the network.

Opal: Oh. How do you do?

Erica: I'm sure you remember Opal and Krystal from the makeover show.

Opal: [Chuckles] Who knew we'd get to keep the clothes? [Laughter]

Shirley: Nice to meet you. Sorry I'm late.

Erica: Oh, no, that's -- that's quite all right. Actually, Krystal and Opal were just telling me how much they enjoyed the show.

Krystal: Along with every viewer in America. Yes.

Shirley: Yes. Well. Shall we?

Amanda: Who's my boy? Who's my perfect little boy? Yes, you are. You know, I think you have your granddad's eyes. But don't worry, I'm not gonna call you "Pork Chop," ok?

David: Don't let me interrupt.

Amanda: I'm not gonna call him "David," either. I've agreed to live here. I've agreed to -- to live under your conditions. But my son has a name. It's Trevor, and I'm not changing it.

David: I think the name "Trevor" is perfect.

Zach: If you'd said you wanted lunch, I would've brought it for you.

Kendall: Don't worry. I'm getting back to my garret.

Zach: You're angry about what happened last night.

Kendall: Well, you seem fine with it.

Zach: I don't know what's ahead for us.

Kendall: Well, it used to be pretty easy. We'd grow old together. Watch the boys grow up. Now, not so much.

Zach: My priority is to prove that Annie killed Stuart, and then I'll move on to the next thing.

Kendall: So that's what I am now. The next thing to check off on your to-do list?

Zach: I will deal with things as they come up.

Kendall: Zach, you never deal with things as they come up. You're always ten steps ahead of everyone else. So instead of this whole "go with the flow" thing, can you just try to be a little more honest? Please, just tell me -- do you see a future with me? Or with Liza?

Zach: Whatever answer I give you is not going to be enough.

Kendall: Great. Ok. Another non-answer.

[Knocking on door]

Kendall: Better get it. It could be your future knocking.

[As Kendall walks upstairs, Zach opens the door to Liza]

Annie: What do you think about tapas for the reception?

Scott: Whatever.

Annie: Ok. More iced tea?

Scott: No, thank you.

Annie: Ok, this is crazy. And I know crazy. We need to talk about what happened.

Scott: You were upset. You were missing Emma.

Annie: And we kissed. A lot.

Scott: It was a mistake.

Annie: Exactly. Exactly I mean, I was just feeling lonely, and you were being sweet and supportive, and I kissed you, but I swear that is never gonna happen again.

Scott: It's not the first time.

Annie: Well, it's the last time. It's the last time, because I love Adam, and I would never jeopardize what I -- what we have. I went too far, and I'm sorry. You're practically my best friend these days, and I would never want to mess with that.

Scott: Maybe it's time I moved out.

Ryan: Let go of me! I said let go.

Annie: What are you doing here?

Ryan: Where is Emma? What have you done with her?

Jake: Hayward's just out of control. He's not letting me near the baby or Amanda.

Krystal: But you're married.

Jake: That doesn't mean anything to David. That's why I'm hoping that you can help me.

Krystal: Of course. Anything I can do. You know that.

Opal: Me, too.

Jake: Great. This is what I'd like you to do.

Krystal: All right. Ok, yeah. We can do that. All right. Talk to you later.

Opal: So?

Krystal: We are on a mission.

Shirley: As I'm sure you know, you are a major topic of discussion at water coolers across the country. And your speech has received a quarter of a million hits on YouTube as of this morning.

Erica: I was hoping people would pay attention.

Shirley: Yes. They were listening, all right. But I'm not sure it's the message we want for "New Beginnings."

Erica: The message was to contribute, to stand up for what you believe in. I inspired the audience. You saw them.

Shirley: You were angry, and that's not the Erica Kane that our sponsors want to see. Or the majority of our audience. They want the glamorous yet approachable Erica Kane. Erica Kane who cares, who understands.

Erica: Sure. I'm still that woman. But my trip to Africa, it -- it really opened my eyes. It really has affected me.

Shirley: I'm all for personal growth, but we need to keep "New Beginnings" on track.

Erica: You mean more makeover shows and pet therapists and celebrity interviews?

Shirley: It's what the people want. And, of course, you'll issue an apology for your performance.

Erica: The hell I will.

David: I came to realize that his name just isn't important. He will always be my flesh and blood. The joy of my life. You hear that, Trevor? The joy of my life. What?

Amanda: This is just so not you.

David: Then maybe I'm a changed man. Ok, probably not. Just seeing him with you right now, I can't help but recognize how much our son loves his mother. How much he needs you. His name just isn't important.

Amanda: Whoo-hoo for me. My son gets to keep his name.

David: It's more than that, Amanda. I want you to do whatever makes you happy.

Amanda: Except live with my husband and my son.

David: Look, you're an intelligent woman. I'm sure you'll figure out some way to make this arrangement work for you. It's not like you're a prisoner. You're free to do whatever you want to within the confines of our agreement.

Amanda: So, I could take Trevor to the park, or to lunch with friends? To the zoo?

David: Yes, of course. In fact, I want you to. Just be aware that if you try to take my son again, there will be severe consequences.

Amanda: Feeling the family love.

David: I just want you to understand something, ok? As long as you keep Jake away from Wildwind and Trevor, there's no reason why we can't raise our son together.

[Cell phone ringing]

David: Excuse me.

[Ringing]

David: [Sighs] Dr. Hayward. All right. I'll be right there. It's an emergency at the hospital. So we're clear?

Amanda: Completely.

David: Good. Your daddy will see you soon, ok? Ha ha ha.

Zach: I don't want to use Annie's kid to get information.

Liza: Yeah, but if Emma is the key to --

Zach: Emma's been through enough.

Liza: Listen, you told me that Emma drew a picture of Kendall in prison. That is her guilt. It's just coming through.

Zach: What I told you was that she drew a picture of the prison. Could just be concern. We don't know what it is.

Liza: I'm just saying that is your way in.

Zach: No. Annie's my way in. I'm pushing her -- not Emma. She's been in the hospital already.

Liza: Do you want to solve this or not? You've got the key right at your fingertips.

Zach: Kendall, enough!

Liza: What? You just called me "Kendall"? What was that?

Scott: Instead of throwing down accusations, why don't you tell us what happened?

Ryan: Emma is missing, and she's been missing since she got out of school.

Annie: Well, the school year just started. Maybe she's at a friend's house.

Ryan: And you don't think I tried that? You don't think I called around and asked some people?

Annie: Oh, my God. Where could she be?

Ryan: You tell me, Annie. I mean, there's a lot of places, right? There's the gate house, there's the attic, there's the tunnels. Tons of place to stash a child around here. As long as it's not a chapel, though, because those do tend to burn down, don't they?

Scott: Hang on, ok? Annie has been here all day. It's not like she can get very far with an ankle monitor.

Ryan: And you think that's stopped her before?

Annie: Ryan, I swear, I didn't have anything to do with this. I mean, we have to find her.

Ryan: How about I start by looking in your room?

Scott: Hey, hey, hey. Last time, Lavery. Annie didn't take Emma.

Ryan: Ok, let me explain something to you, Scott, all right? Annie is a hell of an actress. She's very, very convincing. She's even got Adam believing that she's in love with him.

Annie: Emma could be anywhere right now, Ryan, and instead of spending your time looking for her, you're attacking me.

Ryan: I'm not leaving the house without my daughter, Annie.

Annie: She could be lost or hurt or kidnapped or something.

Ryan: Spoken like a true expert.

Scott: Who are you calling?

Ryan: I'm calling the police. There's no way that you are gonna get away with this.

Zach: When Erica was at the safe house with Emma, Kendall was asking the same kind of questions you're asking now. So, her name popped out.

Liza: Mm-hmm. Well, I don't get to say this very often, but Kendall's right. So am I. Look, Zach, you'd be helping Emma as much as you'd be helping Kendall.

Zach: End of discussion.

Liza: All right. Fine. But for the record, don't ever call me "Kendall" again.

[Doorbell rings]

Zach: Come on in. Does your dad know you're here?

Emma: No. He doesn't like me talking to you.

Zach: Well, you're a brave little girl riding your bike all the way across town, but it's a little dangerous. I'm gonna call your dad.

Emma: Did you give Mommy my drawings? Did she like them?

Zach: Yeah, she liked them a lot, especially the one with the cake and the candles.

Liza: I hear you are quite the artist. I bet you really miss your mom, huh?

Emma: I want to see her more than anything, but Mommy can't leave that house.

Liza: Well, maybe you can visit her there.

Emma: No! I don't like that house. It's scary.

Zach: What do you mean it's scary?

Emma: Maybe I could see Mommy at the park. Or here.

Zach: I don't think that's gonna happen.

Emma: Mommy says you can do anything.

Liza: I'd have to agree with that.

Zach: Hey, Ryan. I thought you'd want to know that Emma is over here at the house.

Erica: My fans are completely behind me.

Shirley: You were out of line, Erica. Off message, off point. And when that happens, our advertisers get nervous, and when they get nervous, we lose money.

Erica: Well, maybe the rest of the advertisers ought to step into the 21st century. This has become a generation of change. We ought to be leading the charge, not catering to a bunch of business-as-usual stuffed shirts.

Shirley: You're entitled to your opinion, but we have a show to run, and it's done pretty well as it is.

Erica: But we can do so much more, Shirley. Ok, some people may have been uncomfortable with what I said, but what's the problem with taking some people out of their comfort zone? That's how progress is made. That's what we have the power to do.

Shirley: I've already heard your speech. I appreciate your passion, but "New Beginnings" will continue as it always has, starting with your apology.

Erica: Shirley, if you've read my contract recently, then you know that there is a creative difference release clause, and if the network insists on continuing with the same tired, old programming, then I will have to exercise that clause.

Shirley: Is that a threat?

Erica: No, it's a simple fact. I want to take "New Beginnings" in a new direction. Yes, entertaining, of course. Always entertaining. Always interesting. But I want to open it up. I want to take it to an exciting, modern place. And if these -- these network stuffed shirts are content to sit on their tired, old rear ends, then I quit.

Shirley: Well, we'll miss you terribly, but as irreplaceable as you are, I'm sure we'll have no problem finding a new host.

Erica: I just wish you'd come by the studio yesterday, Shirley, because I could've done a makeover on you. This corporate look? Not very flattering.

[Shirley walks off in a huff]

David: What are you doing?

Opal: Oh! Oh, um, my -- my pills. I was -- I was looking for my pills. I got that -- that pain again. It's bad. Real bad pain.

David: Ok, why don't you, um, have a seat?

Opal: Ahh. Thank you.

David: What happened?

Opal: Well, I was having lunch and everything was hunky dory. They've got a great pulled pork sandwich there and --

David: Uh-huh, ok, and when did the pains start?

Opal: Oh, just after my second helping of garlic fries. Well, actually, it was Krystal's fries, but...

David: You were having lunch with Krystal.

Opal: Yeah. Well, that's what -- that's what girlfriends do. And then -- then the pain came over me so...

David: Your heart is fine.

Opal: Fierce. Well, I-I don't see how that could be. I mean, this is -- this feels like it's just bursting right out of my chest. Oh! Oh! It hurts so much.

David: What are you doing here?

Opal: Oh. Well, I am trying to get some help before I have another myocardial infarction.

David: Did Krystal put you up to this? You faked this to get me out of the house, didn't you? Is Jake there? Is that how this works? And is Tad stashed away somewhere with a private jet, ready to whisk my son out of the country?

Opal: Gee, we didn't think of that.

David: This ends right now. Do you understand me? No more games, no more schemes, no more plots. My son is my son. He stays with me. And nothing you can do is gonna change that.

Opal: Wait --

David: Get dressed and get out.

Jake: Hi.

Amanda: What are you doing? David is gonna kill you.

Jake: He's a little busy at the hospital right now.

Amanda: You had him paged?

Jake: Yeah, something like that.

Amanda: Oh, you're crazy.

Jake: Yeah, in love with you. How's he doing? Hey. What's up, little fella? How you doing? You doing all right? Listen, I'm sorry about your name getting changed. That's just not right.

Amanda: No, it's ok. David said that we could keep his name.

Jake: You're kidding. Really? What made Satan change his mind?

Amanda: David's happy.

Jake: Mm. Well, he's usually only happy when somebody else is in agony, so as long as it's not you.

Amanda: I'm ok.

Jake: Well, you better be ok. And he better not be hurting you in any way, because I'll kick his ass, I swear.

Amanda: No, you won't. Actually, Trevor and I were on our way to the park. David said that we could do pretty much anything we want except -- except for what I want most.

[Kiss]

Amanda: To be with my husband.

Jake: Well, your husband misses you very much and your husband wants you home. But until that can happen, I got a little something for you to show you how much I love you.

Amanda: [Gasp] Wedding rings?

Jake: Yeah. Well, it's two of them here, actually. I figured Kathy's rings, you know, the little toy rings, they're cute and everything, but they were more of a placeholder, and this is the real thing. These are forever.

Amanda: They are beautiful.

Jake: Yeah. Excuse me one second. Ok. You hold this one.

Amanda: Yes.

Jake: And I'll hold this one, if you don't mind. Ok, I think we should try this for real, ok? Because we got a witness, right? Right there. There he is. Little man. Ok. With this ring, I promise, again, to be your husband, and to be your best friend and to be your soulmate. And with this ring I vow, again, a promise that we will someday soon, it better be soon, wake up in each other's arms, you in my arms and your little son in your arms. And I promise with this ring, I promise you that we will be a family. We will be, and nobody or nothing is ever gonna stop us from being together, ok?

Amanda: [Sigh] With this ring... I vow to have your strength. To know that anything is possible. And to know that we are going to be together again. We have to be together again because I am lost without you. [Sigh] This ring is a symbol of my love and my trust. It's my heart. And I want you to look at it every single day and know how much I love you.

[Trevor fussing]

Jake: Listen, this is -- this is temporary. Very temporary. You know that. This is nothing. We're gonna get through this, and we're gonna be great. We're gonna be just -- just great.

[Kiss]

Jake: Not just great. We're gonna be spectacular. Ok? I promise you.

[Kiss]

[Trevor fussing]

Amanda: Jake, we can't.

David: What is this, Krystal? Did you honestly think it was gonna work?

Krystal: Amanda deserves to be with Jake.

David: Was Amanda in on this?

Krystal: Of course not.

David: Ok, because she understands. She knows what's at stake. Any part of this agreement is violated, she and Jake go to jail until my son is out of medical school. And I will show no mercy.

Krystal: Ha. There's a surprise.

David: Amanda has accepted this. Maybe it's time for the rest of the Martin litter to do the same and let me get on with raising my son with his mother.

Krystal: And to hell with Amanda's marriage to Jake? Isn't it enough that you destroyed one Martin marriage?

David: Ha ha. Oh, sweetheart. You were right there beside me. And don't blame the warm milk. You wanted me as much as I wanted you. You loved me. You left Tad for me. You broke up your Martin marriage.

Krystal: I do blame the drugs. You drugged me, and you used me to get to Little Adam.

David: You tell yourself whatever you need to to get through the night. Fine. Keep it to yourself. I loved you. I wanted to raise a family with you.

Krystal: Until I lost our baby and couldn't give you another child.

David: But there was another child, wasn't there, Krystal? Oh, yeah, that's right -- Marissa. That was your last great lie.

Ryan: I am so glad that you are ok. But we have to have a conversation about that, ok, about you sneaking away and not telling anybody, ok? It's very scary.

Emma: I'm sorry, Daddy.

Ryan: It's ok. It's ok, precious. [Kiss] I love you so much. Let's get your bike in the car, ok? Let's go.

Liza: Hey, why don't I help her with that?

Ryan: Yeah? Ok. Thank you.

Liza: Yeah.

Emma: Bye, Uncle Zach. Thank you for the cookie.

Zach: No more tours of the city.

Ryan: I'll be right out. You want to tell me what's going on? Why Emma would come here to see you?

Zach: She wanted to talk about her mom.

Ryan: With you. Any idea why she'd want to do that? You wouldn't, by any chance, be passing messages from Annie to Emma?

Zach: No, no messages, just one cookie. That all right with you?

Ryan: You know, when I first heard that Emma was missing, I thought it was Annie. That's where I was just now -- the Chandler parlor, getting in Annie's face about it.

Zach: I would've done the same.

Ryan: Hey, why don't you get started on your homework, ok? You get it done, Corrina's got that new DVD you've been wanting to see. You get to watch it later with Spike. Ok?

Emma: Yay!

Ryan: Ok. Go get started.

[Doorbell rings]

Ryan: There she is -- the infamous Erica Kane. Headlines. YouTube. I think this is the part where I ask you to sign my chest.

Erica: I wish you had a TV network.

Ryan: What are you talking about? I thought you'd be, like, dancing on the ceiling. You took charge, the viewers ate it up. What's going on?

Erica: [Sigh] And the network spit me out. I quit.

Ryan: What?!

Erica: They were insisting that I apologize. Apologize for speaking my mind, for -- for trying to make a difference. I mean, I refused.

Ryan: Well, good for you. I mean, there's no -- there's no reason that you should compromise what you believe in to make a bunch of bean counters happy.

Erica: That's practically exactly what I told the senior vice president of programming.

Ryan: Yeah, I had a feeling you probably made your -- your point heard.

Erica: You think I did the right thing?

Ryan: I know you did the right thing. I'm pretty sure that any second now, your phone's gonna be ringing, and it's gonna be the network begging you to come back to work. Either that or you're gonna be inundated with offers from -- from people smart enough to snatch you up.

Annie: That was really great, the way you stood up for me to Ryan. Thank you.

Scott: He accused you of kidnapping your daughter.

Annie: Well, I did that once before, so I think Ryan will always suspect the worst of me.

Scott: That's gotta be tough, trying to convince him that you're better, that you're not the same --

Annie: Same psycho bouncing off the walls anymore? Yeah.

Scott: Yeah. That.

Annie: Ha ha.

Scott: If he could just open his mind to who you are now and not the person that you were, it would be better for everyone, including Emma.

Annie: Yeah. You're a very wise man.

Scott: Thank you. And a wizard at "Guitar Hero."

Annie: Ha ha ha! Yes. You're good at that too -- making me laugh. God, I'm just -- I'm so glad Emma's ok.

Scott: Yeah, me, too.

Annie: Did you mean what you said before? About moving out? I need you here, Scott. Adam needs you here and hopefully one day, Emma will be living in this house with us, and I would love for her to get to know Adam's family.

Scott: I'd like that.

Annie: So, is that a yes, you'll stay? I swear, these lips go nowhere near yours ever again. Strictly friends.

Scott: Ok, friend. I'll stay.

Liza: Look, I think the reason why Emma is so afraid to go back to that house is because she saw Annie shoot Stuart. We are so close, I can feel it. Emma can't stay on that information forever. She's just about to crack.

Zach: That's what I'm afraid of.

Liza: Ok, so just set up a meeting for Annie to see Emma. Emma can see her mommy, and we can get the information that we want. All we gotta do, we gotta put a wire on Emma.

Zach: Put a wire on Emma? Are you nuts? We're not doing that. What's wrong with you?

Liza: Ok. Ok. All right. Fine. Do that noble thing that's so damn attractive. What? I'm not hitting on you.

Zach: I know.

Liza: Ok, so go back and tell Annie that Emma's dying to see her, she's terrified to go into that house, and just go see how she reacts. If you push her hard enough, maybe you can get the information out of her to prove that she's guilty.

[Cell phone ringing]

Erica: It's my agent.

Ryan: You see? I knew it.

Erica: Debbie. Hi. How are you? Really? Mm-hmm. Yes. I see. No, no. Well, the answer is no. No -- the answer is definitely no. [Sigh] Unbelievable.

Ryan: But it was an offer.

Erica: To host a show called "Meltdown." Featuring me ranting on a weekly issue chosen by the viewers.

Ryan: Well, that could be interesting.

Erica: I'm not a ranter. I'm not gonna let them make a spectacle of me. I mean, all I did was show passion for something I care about, and what happens? I scare away the weak advertisers, and I get ridiculous offers.

Ryan: That was just the first offer.

Erica: You know something? I -- I don't really need the advertisers or the networks. I can do this in my own way. I promised the starving children I would raise money for them, and I can. I'll do it my way.

Ryan: So, no TV show?

Erica: No. My -- my career can wait, but those children who don't have anything to eat, they can't.

Ryan: Anybody ever tell you that you are a helluva woman?

Erica: A few times.

Ryan: [Chuckles] Hey, Corrina's upstairs with Spike and Emma. What do you say you and me, we go do a little brainstorming over dinner?

Jake: He's fine. He's fine.

[Kiss]

Amanda: Mm. Mm. Jake, what if David walks in?

Jake: So what? So what if David walks in? I miss you. I miss my wife. I miss -- I miss being with you.

[Trevor fussing]

Amanda: I miss being with you, and I want to be with you, but not here, not like this.

Jake: So we should sneak around from here on out, right?

Amanda: I can come to you. I can come to you. I just can't bring the baby.

Jake: David's rules. Another one of David's rules.

Amanda: I don't have a choice. He could take Trevor. Please, Jake, you know that I want to be with you every second. But just for now, until we figure this out, I have to do this. Come on. I love you. Please, can that just be enough for right now?

Jake: When I leave, you're gonna take the ring off, aren't you? You're gonna hide it because David, David wouldn't like it.

Amanda: I will not take the ring off.

Jake: Right.

Amanda: Jake, please try to understand.

Jake: Oh, I understand. Believe me, I understand. I understand that David would take anything and everything from a Martin. Take their wives, take their children, just --

Amanda: He will never be able to take me from you. It's just easier to go along with him right now, because he has all the power. It's easier than to fight him. Jake, let's just go along with it, all right?

Jake: Hmm. Why? Because we wouldn't want to upset him? God forbid. All right.

[Kiss]

Jake: I'll see you later.

Amanda: No, please.

Jake: I'll see you later.

Amanda: You will.

[Kiss]

Jake: Ok.

Amanda: [Sigh]

Ryan: You have the public's attention. You want to raise money. Why not do it through Fusion? Why not create a whole new product line, and then the profits from that product line can go to feeding the hungry children?

Erica: It's a great idea. It's just that I really want something that -- that pops. Something that makes the people feel a part of -- of what they're doing. And the children are so desperate. They're so hungry. I just really need to make sure that the money gets to them as soon as possible.

Ryan: I can write a check.

Erica: And I'm gonna let you do that. And I would like some more really big donors. But I also want to establish a grass roots community, you know? A group of people who really care beyond the checks.

Ryan: Well, if anybody can inspire the masses, it's you. Truthfully, I'm feeling a little inspired right now myself. And I know exactly what you need. May I?

[Erica takes Ryan's hand]

Zach: I know you don't trust me. You got no reason to trust me. But I think if we work together on this, I could set up a meeting with you and Emma.

Annie: Even if that was possible, why would you do it?

Zach: Well, because I saw that look in that little girl's eyes when she asked me which picture you liked best. With Spike. When Kendall was in a coma and he didn't get to see her.

Annie: You already know how terrible this is for me. You know I'm doing everything I can to be with her someday.

Zach: She needs you now.

Annie: So we'd really put together a meeting. You would really take that chance for me?

Zach: No. But I would for a child who needs to see her mother.

David: Amanda? Amanda, you'd better be here.

Amanda: Shh. You're gonna wake the baby.

David: You're here.

Amanda: Where else would I be?

David: Oh, I don't know. Maybe on the way to the airport with Jake and our son.

Amanda: I told you I wouldn't run.

David: So the baby's all right?

Amanda: Like I said, sleeping. Shh. [Sigh]

David: Jake was here, wasn't he?

Amanda: My husband came by. I asked him to leave.

David: What an idiot. He had Opal fake an attack to get me out of the way. What did he want?

Amanda: He came to give me this. Do you have a problem with me wearing a wedding ring?

David: I was very clear. Jake is not allowed to be here.

Amanda: I don't care what I promised you. There is no way that you are keeping me from seeing the man that I love.

[Erica and Ryan dance to applause]

Ryan: I think we're a hit.

Erica: I just had a great idea.

Krystal: You know, maybe we ought to just stop with all these tricks and games, because it only make David angrier.

Opal: And scarier.

Jake: But what do you want me to do? You want me to tie my family up in a nice, little bow and just hand them to David? Is that what you want me to do?

Krystal: No, that's not what we want, no, but he is dangerous.

Jake: Yeah. He wants my family. And he always gets what he wants. Right?

Krystal: That's not true.

Jake: No? He got Dixie from Tad, didn't he? Tried to get you away from Tad.

Krystal: He didn't get Little Adam. Because a lot of people who love that little boy stood up to David every which way. Straight up eyeball to eyeball. And that's what you've gotta do. That's how you win. You have us and you have Amanda, and together we can fight David head on, and we will win.

David: You miss your husband so much? You want to be with him until boredom do you part? Fine! Go. Go ahead. Go be with him. But don't come back.

Amanda: You don't mean that.

David: It's your choice, Amanda. Your husband or your child.

[Trevor crying]

Annie: You would really help me see Emma?

Zach: Yeah, well, there is some risk involved. You know, the court doesn't want you seeing her, and you've got that ankle monitor, but -- well, if you're willing to leave the grounds, I could make it happen.

Annie: Ha. Yes. Leave the grounds. So use Emma as bait to lure me off the property and then throw the cops on me? No way.

Zach: It's the only way.

Annie: Bring her here.

Zach: She doesn't want to come here. She's terrified of this house. It doesn't surprise you.

Annie: Of course, she's terrified of the house, because of what she saw.

Zach: What she saw?

Annie: Stuart's murder. Look, I understand that this is a house of horrors for Emma, but if you bring her here, I can talk to her. I can explain to her that there's nothing to be afraid of. So will you do it? Will you set up the meeting?

Liza: Yeah. That's fun, huh? Well, your dad's not gonna be too long. Hey, this just gives us a chance to get better acquainted, huh?

[Ian fussing]

Liza: I bet you miss your mom, don't you?

[Ian fussing]

Liza: Ah. Well, tell you something -- your dad and I are doing everything we can to bring her back home. And when your dad says he's gonna do something, oof, the world better watch out. You don't know how lucky you are to have such a good daddy, huh? I wish my little boy had a father just like yours. Ha ha. Who knows? You know what? Maybe someday, he will.

[Kendall seethes as she listens in from the hall]
