Jake: Ok. What do you say we get out of here?
Amanda: Huh? A dream I had last night, I can't stop thinking about it.
Jake: What was it?
Amanda: I was walking in the hospital, only it seemed so empty, and -- and I found him. Trevor in a room all alone. Oh, it seemed so real, and I had him back just for a moment.
Jake: Well, it wasn't just a dream.
Liza: I thought that -- that Stuart was yours just up until a few days ago.
David: Why would Jake lie to you?
Liza: Because he wanted me to believe it. Just like he wanted -- he wanted you to believe it.
David: Oh... to bait me. He wanted me to believe your son was mine, so when I tested him it would prove once and for all that my son was really dead.
Liza: You weren't the only one that was fooled. He deceived me, too. He used my son. He wanted to make me think --
David: Yeah. Shut up!
Liza: Ok, ok, ok, ok!
David: I don't give a damn about that! Where is he?
Liza: Ok!
David: Who has my son?
Angie: Hey, you. Hey, you.
Randi: Wait, Angie, please. There's got to be another way.
Jesse: Randi? We can't keep this a secret anymore. You know that doesn't work.
Randi: No, please!
Frankie: Hey, come on. Come on. We agreed. It has to be done this way.
Randi: No, you can't! You can't!
Frankie: Hey, hey, we have to. We have to.
Randi: No! You take that baby, I swear...I swear I'll tell everybody. I'll tell them what I did.
Jesse: Randi.
Randi: I will, Jesse. I'll tell everybody that I killed Henry North.
Natalia: What? What do you mean? You killed North?
Randi: Yes. And your father helped me cover it up.
Frankie: She's just mad. She don't know what she's talking about.
Randi: No. I know what I'm talking about, and I will tell the entire world if any of you try and take that baby from me.
Natalia: Oh, my God. I've been feeling guilty about hiding an abandoned baby... this whole time, you've been covering up a murder?
Erica: Zach? Zach, are you here? Zach. Zach, where have you been? Why would you leave the boys alone in the house?
Zach: I was outside for a second.
Erica: Don't lie to me.
Tad: You must be exhausted. If I remember correctly, stake-out duty is a real killer.
Taylor: Oh, it's not so bad. It's like doing Army recon. Ha ha! I'll tell you, I know every inch of that alley. I know all the homeless people who hang out in there. I know who's coming and going from the back door of that church.
Tad: Huh.
Taylor: Only problem is... no baby. And absolutely no clue who took him. You ok?
Tad: Uh, no. It's my head. Yet another kid in trouble and not a damn thing I can do about it.
Taylor: We will find Trevor. Wait. What other kid's in trouble?
Little Adam: I wish Mama could come back.
Marissa: I know you do. I do, too. I'd love to have known her. But you know what? You have your daddy, and he is going to be there for you always. Hey, you know what? I think your mom would love some more of those flowers. You see those daisies over there? You want to go pick her some? Yeah, go on.
J.R.: You know, I'm surprised you didn't turn and run the other direction when you saw me after the way I treated you at Wildwind.
Marissa: You're hurting. I wish you would tell me why.
J.R.: I'm having a nightmare... that I can't wake up from.
Erica: Zach, why won't you tell me where you really were?
Zach: I told you where I was. I was outside.
Erica: Your car wasn't in the driveway when I drove up.
Zach: It's in the garage.
Erica: Look, I was just very worried when I came in and saw that the boys were --
Zach: Kids are fine. Let it go.
Erica: All right, I'm sorry. I just got off a plane, I'm sure that I am jet-lagged.
Zach: You look great. I like the new look.
Erica: Oh. Thank you, but I, uh, frankly, I haven't even given a thought to how I look the last several days. Much bigger things to focus on.
Zach: Well, a good trip?
Erica: Ah, it was amazing. I'll tell you all about it. But first, I really want to hear all about Kendall. How is she?
Zach: Same. I call the prison every day, but, uh, she won't see anybody, but they tell me she's doing fine.
Erica: Oh, it's so wrong. She shouldn't do that. She should be surrounded by family. I mean, she can't just keep pushing us away like that. How's Liza doing with the appeal?
Zach: Liza may not be on the case anymore.
Erica: Really?
Zach: Really. Personal reasons.
Erica: Personal reasons? Personal in what way?
David: Answer me!
Liza: Ok, ok!
David: Where is my son?
Liza: Stop, stop! You keep asking me, and I don't know! I don't know, ok? All I know is that Jake got Stuart from a birth mother he made a separate agreement with. He just wanted a safe way for Amanda to have her baby.
David: You mean safe from me, right?
Liza: Yes.
David: And where has my son been all this time?
Liza: He's been at a caregiver. At a caregiver. I don't know who it is, I swear to God. He just wanted to let some time pass, so that you wouldn't be suspicious when they adopted.
David: Adopted my son.
Liza: But then -- Amanda's postpartum, it just got so bad, so he had to tell her the truth, and once she knew that the baby was out there, she couldn't stay away, so Taylor Thompson offers to take the baby in her house to watch him, and then once Amanda knew the baby was so close, she wanted the adoption to go by even faster, and that is when Opal came up with this crazy idea to find a baby abandoned at a church doorstep.
David: Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute. Are you telling me that someone else found my son before Opal did?
Liza: Tad swore it was you.
David: Ah. Tad? Tad is in on this, too? Once again the whole damn Martin family.
Amanda: I saw him, and he was in a room all by himself, and I was scared, because he looked sick.
Jake: What? What?
Amanda: He had something taped to his arm, an I.V. needle. Now, tell me, why would I hallucinate something like that?
Jesse: Natalia.
Natalia: No.
Jesse: Natalia.
Natalia: No! Stay away!
Jesse: Wait, wait! Obviously there's an explanation for this.
Frankie: Hey, why did you do that?
Randi: Because you left me no choice. If I lose this baby, I don't care about going to prison.
Frankie: Here, let me --
Randi: Stop.
[Baby fussing]
Angie: Listen, he's probably just so upset, because you're so upset. Why don't we let Frankie take him, all right, and just try to quiet him?
Frankie: He probably just needs a change. I won't take him out of the apartment, I promise.
[Baby fussing]
Frankie: Yeah, that's it. I'm gonna go change him, ok?
Randi: Look, I am not crazy, so you can just save your stories about doing the right thing for somebody else. I've heard everyone's arguments. They don't understand. Matthew belongs with me, Angie.
Angie: Randi, I do understand how you feel, but listen to me. Sometimes you have to look past what you're feeling and think about what's right for that baby. Now, you -- you just can't give him any kind of life while you're trying to run and hide with him. What kind of life would that be?
Randi: I love him.
Angie: Oh, sweetheart, I know you do, but sometimes loving a child isn't enough.
Marissa: Do you want to talk about it, whatever it is?
J.R.: There's no point. There's nothing you can do about it.
Marissa: I want to help you, J.R., please just let me try.
J.R.: I just came back from my dad's house. He made a fool out of himself in front of Annie again. It's like she brings out the worst in him. He's too blind. He can't see it coming.
Marissa: What does Scott think?
J.R.: He's living there. He's too close to everything. He also hasn't had a chance to see all the train wrecks that my father's been with in the past.
Marissa: You can't live your father's life for him. He has to live with his own mistakes.
J.R.: Yeah, but Little Adam will get hurt. The thought of him being raised in that house...
Marissa: But he is not. He's out of there. He's living with you.
J.R.: There's no guarantee that it'll be that way forever.
Marissa: Why are you acting like this?
J.R.: Because there's no guarantees in life. Just ask your sister that.
Marissa: Hey, wow, those are beautiful. Do you want to give them to your mom? Here we go.
J.R.: Ok, son, it's time to go.
Little Adam: Bye, Mama.
Taylor: What else is going on? Come on. I hate seeing you like this.
Tad: Can't talk about it.
Taylor: That is so lame. Why?
Tad: Because I made a promise. So do me a favor. Don't ask. Ah.
Taylor: Tad.
Tad: Yeah?
Taylor: You should go to the hospital.
Tad: Oh. I don't know what I'd tell 'em. They warned me I would feel differently after being shot. The truth is I don't feel so different. I feel more like myself than I have in ages, you know. Most of the time, I wake up, jump out of bed, grab the world by the funny bone. Just try to enjoy myself, enjoy laughing again. I tell you, things still go wrong, and when they do, there is this blender that sits right there, and it's turning equal parts of my brain and ice into margaritas. I don't know. Enough is enough. Help me do something to take my mind off of things. Distract me, ok, so I don't have to think about what's going on between my ears.
[Taylor gently rubs Tad's forehead, kisses it, then hugs him]
Tad: Mmm.
Jesse: I just...I knew this would mean years behind bars for Randi, and for what? Self defense. And pregnant on top of that? Baby, no jury would buy her story. The toughest part of this whole thing was... keeping another secret from you and Frankie and Angela, but you got to know I did this to keep from pulling all of you into this madness.
Natalia: This is another one of those hard choices like we discussed. Like bending the rules for Kendall Slater.
Jesse: More importantly, I did this to protect Randi, because she is now a part of this family. Henry North tried to rape her. She tried to stop him. She did not try to kill him.
Natalia: I wish I had been there. I'd have killed that bastard for her.
Angie: Love is probably the most important thing you can give a child. But just as important as love is security, because that baby wants to feel safe. Now, if you don't turn him over to the authorities, if you try and run with him, sweetheart, you're gonna be running for the rest of your life. You're gonna be hiding for the rest of your life, and more important, you're gonna be hiding and running for the rest of his. What kind of existence would that be for either one of you? I want you to do something for me. I want you to think back to when you met Frankie. What was your life like then?
Randi: Scary. I was always afraid that I was gonna end up beaten or dead...with a disease. [Sniffs] Or pregnant. I think that's what I was most scared of. I knew that I could never bring a baby into this world that I was living. Angie, when I met Frankie, when we got pregnant, I was still scared. It wasn't until I looked into Matthew's eyes that I -- I realized I really wanted to be a mother. When I look in his eyes, I don't see any judgment, just love, just innocence. When I hold him in my arms, I don't think about anything besides that baby. My past, Henry, it all disappears. Angie, don't you see why I need him?
Angie: I do. I certainly do, because to come upon a child like that, it's a gift from God. And whatever is meant to be will be. And in the meantime, you've got Frankie to hold on to, and you have Jesse and me and Natalia, and we will do whatever we can to protect you. But now I need you to trust us. Ok? And you try and you do right by that baby.
Taylor: Are you feeling better?
Tad: Much. Thank you. That's a nice way of dragging me out of my pointy little head.
[Television playing]
Taylor: So what's the latest on this telenovela that Jake got you hooked on?
Tad: Oh, it is a torrid cauldron of sexual desire and unrequited love.
Woman on TV: No, no!
Tad: Other than that, I have absolutely no idea. I don't speak Spanish, but I just love their women and the way they roll those Rs.
Taylor: Mmm.
[Doorbell rings]
Tad: Here you go.
Tad: J.R. Come on in. Come on in. Come in. Ahh...uh, Taylor, would you mind if had some time alone with J.R.? We've got some business to discuss.
Taylor: No. Hi. Taylor.
J.R.: Hi. J.R.
Taylor: Hi. Well, I'll leave you to it.
Tad: Ok.
Taylor: And I'll be home if you need to call me or something.
Tad: All right. Thank you.
J.R.: So I was hoping that Kathy was home for a play date.
Tad: Oh, sure she is. She's in the back with Opal and Jenny setting up a new playhouse. You want to go back and see if you can lend them a hand?
J.R.: Yeah? Go on. It's not good news.
Tad: Ok. So talk to me.
J.R.: I went over to the house to tell my dad about the cancer, and I just couldn't. Ahh. He started making accusations that I was drinking again, and then he jumped to the threats, said he's gonna take Little Adam away from me just as soon as he could. If I -- if I die... you promise that you'll keep Little Adam safe...from him? You keep him away from that house?
Tad: I'll do no such thing.
David: The Martin brothers. The saints of Pine Valley. Nothing but a bunch of selfish bastards. Not only do they ruin the lives of the women they seduce, they go after their kids, too. Like Jake. Jake. Sleeps with Amanda, dumps her. I'm there to pick up the pieces. Then he finds out she's pregnant with my son, what does he do? He steps in and marries her. Because he loves her? Hell no! It's because he wants to screw me over! Now he's screwed me over and Amanda over by losing our son! That son of a bitch. Oh. They're not gonna get away with it. Any of them.
[Liza makes a run for the door]
David: No, no, no, you don't!
[Cocks pistol]
David: I'm gonna find my son, and I'm gonna take care of the Martins once and for all.
Amanda: You said I was hallucinating this whole... why are we here now?
Jake: 'Cause there's something that you said when you were telling me what you saw. You said the baby was hooked up to an I.V., and that's very specific for a hallucination. Thought maybe if I brought you back here, it would trigger something else, you'd remember something else.
Nurse: Dr. Martin?
Jake: Yes.
Nurse: Sorry to interrupt, but are they opening up these rooms again?
Jake: Uh, not that I know of. Why?
Nurse: I'm just not used to seeing doctors in here, that's all.
Jake: What doctors? Other doctors? Who?
Nurse: Dr. Frankie Hubbard. I thought it was strange that I saw him here last night, because I didn't think he was back on staff yet. Nancy said he was also in Pediatrics taking some I.V. bags.
Jake: Right. I think I know what that's about. I'll take care of it.
Amanda: Frankie? What does that mean?
Jake: It means that I don't think you were hallucinating.
Tad: I'm not saying that I won't look after Little Adam. I'm saying I refuse to believe that you're gonna die. I don't even want you to think like that. You haven't even seen your oncologist yet.
J.R.: I just -- I need some time to just wrap my head around this.
Tad: No, you don't. You have to fight and fight hard for you and your son. That little boy's all the head wrapping you're ever gonna need. I tell you what, get into treatment, I'll make all the promises you like.
J.R.: I'll pick up Little A later, ok?
Tad: Yeah, sure. I love you, J.R.
Erica: You know what, Zach? There are so many better lawyers out there, so many. Why in heaven's name would you ever want to insist to keep Liza...
Zach: I don't know about better lawyers --
Erica: When she wants to go?
Zach: Well, she knows the case better than anybody, and she's gonna have a good appeal for us. That's what she -- come on.
Erica: So she stops by a lot?
[Toy plays music]
Kendall: Oh.
Erica: Hmm?
Zach: I know what you're implying. That's ridiculous.
Erica: Comes by a lot in the evening? Brings Zach takeout food? Offers to help with these little boys?
Zach: Oh, let's tell Erica to be quiet with this silly stuff she's saying. Want to?
Erica: Well, you're being very silly, and I've heard enough. I am moving in.
Natalia: This isn't over. It's far from over. You know if we take that baby in, that Randi's gonna cut her own throat by turning herself in. And that means bringing you down with her. What -- what are we gonna do?
Jesse: We're gonna do exactly what Randi doesn't want us to do. We got to find out where that baby came from.
Natalia: Even if it means losing everything?
Jesse: This is not one of those gray areas. That baby belongs to somebody, and the baby comes first.
Frankie: I, uh, remember when I came home, and I saw you with Matthew together for the first time. Huh. The look on your face. I fell in love with you all over again. Huh. I've never seen you so at peace, so happy, so beautiful. I want to make this -- I want to fix this. I want the baby with us so that you'll always have that look in your face. But...if this isn't the way, Randi, if...if someone is out there looking for him --
Randi: They are. Frankie, I've known it all along. I've just been denying it. Every time I look in his eyes, I know that there is someone out there aching, dying, because they don't know where he is. Whoever...whoever it is, I know that they're gonna miss him just as much as I am... when I let him go.
Frankie: Hey, come here.
Amanda: Maybe we should try calling Frankie again.
Jake: I did try calling him. Goes to voicemail. But I didn't want to wait around. In fact, I'm not gonna wait around.
Amanda: What? Oh, does that really work?
Jake: Yeah, if the lock is old school it does. This happens to be old school. All right, I tell you what. I'll look around here and you go check the bedrooms, ok?
Amanda: I really hate doing this to Frankie and Randi.
Jake: All right. This is the only lead we got. You want to find Trevor or not?
David: The Martins are the root of all misery in this town. They're sociopaths masquerading as do-gooders. Well, they're gonna finally get theirs.
Liza: You should listen to yourself. Listen to you. You don't even care about your baby. All you care about is revenge. You know, you attack Tad and Jake for using your child? You, you're the one that's using children to get back at your enemies. What, you did it with Dixie, you did it with Tad. Now you're doing the exact same thing with Jake and Amanda. Stop it. Just stop. These grudges and this revenge. Trying to get back at people. If you don't, you are gonna die a lonely, bitter old man.
David: The issue is my son. Don't you get it? Not Jake's.
[Uncocks pistol]
David: Get the hell out of here. Go!
[Door slams as Liza leaves Wildwind]
Nurse: Nurse's station.
David: This is Dr. Hayward. Is Jake Martin on duty?
Nurse: He left with his wife after checking her out.
David: Page him. I want him back at the hospital now.
[David grabs his gun and leaves]
Tad: Are you gonna to tell me what's wrong, or are we going to sit around and play charades?
Liza: Where is Jake? He shut his phone off. Do you know where he is?
Tad: Yeah, he checked Amanda out of the hospital, and they're on their way back to their place.
Liza: All right. Well, we have to find him. We have to warn them.
Tad: Why? Is this something about the baby?
Liza: No, it's about David. He knows everything.
Tad: What?
Liza: Yeah, and he's crazy mad. He has a gun.
Tad: How did he find out about it?
Liza: I told him.
David: Didn't I tell you I wanted Dr. Martin back here right away?
Nurse: I paged him. I tried calling him. Left voicemails. What else do you expect me to do? I'll try him again.
David: Forget it. I'll find him myself.
Jake: Honey.
Amanda: This was in the dirty clothes. It's the one Trevor was wearing the day that we lost him.
Liza: I want to help.
Tad: I don't want you to help, Liza, ok? Just let me take care of it. Do me a favor. Go home and just be with your kid. One near miss is enough, all right? Let me take care of Hayward. Come on.
Liza: Would you please let me know if you hear anything?
Tad: Will do. Jake. Listen, call me as soon as you can. Everything has just hit the fan, and Hayward is out for blood.
Erica: Oh, yes, I meant what I said. I'm moving in.
Zach: Yeah? I thought you were kidding.
Erica: I know.
Zach: Ahh. You know I love you, but it's not a great idea.
Erica: It's a perfect idea. I mean, you can't take care of the boys all by yourself. Bianca is not available, but I am.
Zach: This isn't about the boys, is it? It's about Liza.
Erica: Zach, this is about family taking care of each other. Look, I've just had a few very eye-opening days where I saw a lot of beautiful children who didn't have anybody who loved them, to take care of them. Now with Kendall gone right now, these beautiful boys need somebody who loves them, caring for them, and I intend to help.
[Children noises]
Zach: Okay. Guest room's yours.
[From her listening place, Kendall mouths No!]
Randi: [Sighs] He's ready to go.
Jesse: We'll take my car to the station, ok?
Randi: I can't -- What I mean is, I don't want to go to the station. I have to say good-bye now.
Frankie: You sure?
Randi: Yeah. Hey. You know, you're gonna be just fine. Whoever lost you, they're gonna find you again. You're gonna be right where you're supposed to be. But I -- but I'll never forget what you did for me. I just want you to be happy. I love you, Matthew.
[Randi hands the baby to Angie]
Angie: Sweetie. It's ok.
[Frankie hugs Randi as she sobs]
Erica: Ok, sweetheart. Ah. You won't regret this.
Zach: You're very persuasive.
Erica: I'll see you very soon. Bye.
Zach: Now...
Kendall: Are you out of your mind?
Zach: What are you doing in there?
Kendall: How can you -- how can you let her move in here?
Zach: It's the best idea she ever had.
Joe: Well, have you called them? You know, called, cell?
David: Of course, I have. Otherwise I wouldn't be asking you.
Joe: I've not seen them since early today.
David: Well, do you know anyone else that might --
TV reporter: The baby, apparently abandoned at St. Matthew's Church, is now in the hands of the Pine Valley Police Department. If you have any information that might help identify the baby boy, call the number scrolling now at the bottom of your screen.
[David sees the TV report and dashes out of the hospital]
[Door slams as Jake and Amanda enter Tad's place while he's watching the TV report]
Jake: Hi. Um, I think we might have found a lead.
Tad: Screw that. I think I found the baby.
Zach: With your mom in the house, maybe you'll stop walking around and stop hitting people in the head with computers.
Kendall: I cannot believe you are having my mother move in here just to keep me in my cage.
Zach: Look on the bright side. With Erica in the guest room, it will certainly keep Liza out of mine.
Dr. Kahn: Mr. Chandler, I'm Dr. Alison Kahn.
J.R.: Hi.
Dr. Kahn: Dr. Hubbard sent over your files and tests, and I've talked at length with her and the doctors at Sloan-Kettering. I know this is a difficult time for you. I'm hear to help you understand just what's going on, and what we can do. Now, before I get into specifics, do you have any questions?
J.R. Yes. When can I start treatment? I'm ready to beat this thing.
[Door slams]
Zach: I didn't know you meant you were going to move in immediately.
Erica: Well, why wait. The rest of my things will be over in the morning.
[Doorbell rings]
Zach: Ok.
Liza: Hi. I've got to talk to you. Oh, they let you out of Africa.
Erica: Zach told me that you were going to be dropping Kendall's case, and I really do think that is the best for everyone involved.
Liza: Well, actually, I've come here to tell Zach just how persuasive he was. I'm staying on board Kendall's case.
[Frankie and Randi stand on their fire escape comforting each other]
Tad: I'm gonna find Jesse, see if I can head off some of those reports.
Taylor: Ok. I just heard. Is it Trevor?
Tad: We don't know yet. I'm gonna find Jesse. Come with me.
Taylor: Ok.
Jake: Listen to me. We have to get our story straight, ok? Because as soon as we I.D. Trevor, Jesse's gonna be all over us -- why did we fake his death, and how could we possibly lose a child. So we just got to make sure that we know what we're talking about. Wait, honey. Honey, wait a second.
Amanda: Oh, my baby.
David: Don't you mean our baby?
