[Taylor and Tad kiss]

Taylor: Wow.

Tad: Hmm?

Taylor: What just happened?

Tad: Uh, well, technically, I think I was sort of over there and you were over there. And all of a sudden we weren't.

Taylor: Yeah, I got -- I got that. I mean, we just, um, that was...

Tad: Yeah?

Taylor: Uh, uh, uh --

Tad: Should I buy a vowel?

Taylor: What was that?

Tad: If you have to ask, I wasn't doing it properly.

Taylor: Enough with the jokes.

Tad: Ok. Taylor, would you marry me? Have my babies? You just got to give that one back first.

Taylor: Tad, stop it. It's not funny.

Marissa: The whole thing is insane. Kendall's a loose cannon: No idea what she's going to do next. And then there's Annie. She flips from emotionally desperate to eerily confident almost as if she's been possessed.

Krystal: It's the Chandler Mansion. Well, it is. Back me up, opal. Opal: Evil lurks around every corner.

Marissa: Well, it can't be all bad. I mean, some good things have come out of that place.

Krystal: Good things as in J.R.?

J.R.: Hey. I'm here to pick up Little A. Um, did I walk in on something?

Guard: I found her on the grounds, sir.

Natalia: For the millionth time, I'm a police officer!

Adam: No. You're a cadet. Please get her off my property.

Natalia: Well, you'll want to hear what I have to say.

Adam: Doubtful.

Natalia: I think someone tried to kill Annie Lavery.

Annie: Enjoy the time with your family. It's about to run out.

Jesse: What are you doing here?

Kendall: I, uh, I have something to tell you.

Jesse: Ok.

Annie: Don't get shy now, Kendall. She has a lot to tell you.

Jesse: Uh, why don't you wait outside, and I'll be right with you.

Kendall: Ok.

Annie: Hmm. Darn. I was hoping for a front-row seat -- you know, Kendall's big confession. She's so close, I can just taste it. But you would never let her spill her guts in front of me, because then how would you cover it up? Right, Chief?

Jack: You shot at Adam through that window, didn't you? You were on the Chandler terrace with a gun.

Aidan: You're wrong. Zach wasn't there. He was with me.

Jack: And you would testify to that?

Aidan: Of course, I would. Why wouldn't I? I was at the casino with him. He offered me a job. I turned him down.

Jack: This isn't over yet.

Liza: Yeah, ok. I will be outside if you need me.

Zach: So, Aidan, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you have any reason to lie for me.

Aidan: Sure I do. Her name's Annie Lavery, and she's gotten away with far too much.

Annie: Zach set me up. I know it, Kendall knows it, and you know it, too.

Liza: Hey. Did Zach call you? Good news. I was able to buy another postponement. Kendall, that's more time to prove that Annie shot Stuart.

Kendall: But she didn't. Why doesn't that matter to anyone?

Liza: My God, you're about to confess?

Tad: Taylor, I didn't mean to upset you.

Taylor: I'm not upset.

Tad: Are you sure? Huh? Because I know how these things can take on a life of their own. You know, this single, little, innocent kiss turns into a great, big, huge deal.

Taylor: There's no huge deal. What huge deal?

Tad: Well, just so you know, that's why I added the laugh-it-up exit strategy. Ok?

Taylor: Tad...

Tad: Oh, God.

Taylor: We've had a few dates, and I know that I was the one who, ahem, said the whole "I see you in a different light" thing. But I -- I don't think it's a good idea: You and me.

Tad: Definitely not.

Taylor: Please take some time to think about it.

Tad: Ha ha. I mean -- ok. Fine. You want to be clinical about it? I'm probably not too good for anybody right now.

Taylor: I don't think I'm very good for anybody right now either.

Tad: You are unbelievable!

Taylor: What?

Tad: Taylor, do you know how many relationships I've been in that started out as not a very good idea? It didn't change anything. I fell just as hard, just as fast.

Taylor: Yes, because you got swept up in the moment.

Tad: Yeah. And then you know what I usually did?

Taylor: You crashed and you burned, and then you ran.

Tad: For the hills. That's exactly what happened with me and Krystal. When I found out about her and Hayward, I dropped her off at his front door like a newspaper. Then I spent the next two months obsessing about -- I don't know -- my kids, my family, my crazy brother, anything but what had actually gone wrong.

Taylor: I did the exact same thing. When I started to realize that things had changed between me and Brot, do you think I dealt with it? No. I jumped under the covers and I hid.

Tad: It's kind of lonely, isn't it? Isn't it? Well, maybe it's time for you to crawl out from under those covers.

[Knock on door]

Amanda: Hey. I know I'm not supposed to be here, but I just really need to see the baby.

Tad: Well, don't just stand there. Come on in.

Taylor: Come on in! Come on in!

Amanda: Hi.

Opal: I will go and tell Little A that his papa is here.

Krystal: Uh, and I'll -- I'll help. The last time I checked, Kathy had him dressed up in some crazy getup. He might need a hand.

Opal: Or four. Yeah. We'll see you later.

Marissa: So how are you?

J.R.: I'm hanging in. Little A and I are moving back into the mansion today.

Marissa: Wow! Wow. That's big. How do you feel about that?

J.R.: Well, I liked living at the Yacht Club, having our own space down by the water, not to mention the kick-ass neighbors. Ha ha ha! But Little A's different. You know, he misses his old house, and he misses his grandpa.

Marissa: Yeah, I guess that's part of being a parent: Putting your kid first.

J.R.: Yeah. And part of being sober.

Marissa: Well, for the record, you're doing a great job on both counts.

J.R.: Well, spoken like a true lawyer.

Marissa: Who's also a trained masseuse. May I?

J.R.: Are you kidding?

Marissa: Does that feel ok?

J.R.: You have no idea. Huh.

Liza: If you confess, Zach goes down for framing Annie, Jesse gets accused for covering for you. And your boys -- what happens to them? We're talking about first-degree murder here, the death penalty for a crime that you did not commit.

Kendall: Liza, you're not getting it. No matter what Zach says or my mother says or anybody else, I killed Stuart Chandler.

Liza: What -- what are you talking about?

Kendall: I remember. Ok? And it's not just some blur in the back of my mind. It's finally right here. In every dream, in every breath, I'm guilty.

Liza: Ok. Wrong place, wrong volume.

Kendall: Liza, please, please just walk away.

Liza: No.

Kendall: Why not?

Liza: Because I'm not gonna do that to Zach, damn it.

Jesse: Annie, you're grabbing at straws, spinning theories left and right here. Nobody believes you, not even Adam.

Annie: Adam will come around.

Jesse: "Adam will come around." Adam's the man who put your ass here in the first place. He finally saw through your game.

Annie: I love him.

Jesse: You love him. You love him. You're using him, Annie, as a shield. What better way to seal the deal than to get Mr. Moneybags to marry you, huh? But, oh, Mr. Moneybags threw your proposal right back in your face. That was it. Last chance at freedom gone. Made you angry, didn't it? Angry enough to pick up another gun and finish what you started?

Annie: Who's the one spinning theories now?

Jesse: Oh. So I got it all wrong?

Annie: Yep, you do. But I'll let Kendall give you all the details. I admire her, actually. It takes a lot of guts to admit defeat, especially when most of the people in the town -- the chief of police included -- have put themselves on the line for you. But she's doing the right thing. Yeah, she really is: The right thing for her, the right thing for Stuart, and, most importantly, for me.

Adam: Am I not clear? Get her out of here.

Scott: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold on, hold on. You think somebody was shooting at Annie and not Adam?

Natalia: That's exactly what I think.

Adam: Yes, why don't you share this revelation with your father? Unless you already have and the chief's not having any of it? Am I close?

Natalia: You know what? Forget it. This was a bad idea.

Scott: Uncle Adam --

Adam: No, no, wait! What makes you think that Annie was the target?

Natalia: Well, for one, evidence never lies. And two -- bullets always travel in a straight line.

J.R.: Oh, nice job. I think you just about got that knot out.

Marissa: Well, next time we'll do it right. I'll go all deep tissue on you. Ha ha! Did I really just say that?

J.R.: I would love a massage --  strictly professional, of course.

Marissa: Yeah, of course.

J.R.: Of course. Ha ha ha!

Marissa: Oh --

J.R.: Hey, bud! Did you have a good time? Yeah? Well, guess what. I got a surprise for you.

Little Adam: Are we going to the zoo?

J.R.: Better than that. We're moving back in with grandpa. Would you like that? Yeah? Well I guess we better pack, then. Ok. Well, say good-bye to your Aunt Marissa first.

Marissa: Bye, Little A!

Little Adam: Bye.

Marissa: See you!

J.R.: And say bye to your nana.

Krystal: Bye. I'll see you later, peanut.

J.R.: All right. Come on. Let's go.

Krystal: Ah. So J.R. told you he was going back to the mansion, huh? And?

Marissa: And I'm pretty sure that it's none of my business.

Krystal: Oh. It will be when you start spending more time there. Oh, come on, Marissa. You got it bad for J.R. I can see it in your eyes, in your smile -- just like I could see it in Babe's. So just do me a favor. Ok? Be careful. I mean, I love J.R. He's like a son, but he is no saint. He's got a lot of David in him.

Marissa: Well, so do I. I can't help it, Krystal. I like them both.

Krystal: All right. Look, I cannot warn you any more about David.

Marissa: By both, I meant both Chandlers --  J.R. and Scott. They're just -- they're not afraid to feel or show vulnerability. I don't know. For some reason, they really get to me. Oh, you think I've lost it.

Krystal: No. I think there's a lot of me in there, too.

Tad: All right. Now, this one. This one is universal. Ok? It means, "I'm hungry."

Amanda: Oh, I know that face.

Tad: Yeah, of course, you do. Jake makes it all the time.

Amanda: Would you stop?

Tad: Yeah, and this one? This is a piece of cake. This is like, "I'm so tired, I don't know what to do with myself."

Taylor: I love that one!

[Trevor cries]

Taylor: All right. Is that it, baby whisperer?

Tad: No. There's one more. That one. It means, "I'm sitting in my own filth, woman. Do something."

Amanda: Ha ha!

Taylor: You're insane.

Tad: I've been called worse.

Taylor: I'm sure.

Amanda: Uh-oh. I think he is right. It is time for a diaper change, big man. Yes, it is. Come on. All right.

Taylor: Ok. So, too hot? Too cold? What does this face mean?

Tad: It means I want to get kissed again.

[Amanda sees Tad and Taylor kiss]

Taylor: What?

Tad: I guess I did it right that time, huh?

Taylor: I'm confused. Did we -- didn't we decide that we --

Tad: Oh, come on, Taylor. Decisions give me headaches. Let's just live.

Aidan: You're welcome for the alibi, by the way.

Zach: You think Annie killed Stuart?

Aidan: Well, at first, I wasn't so sure.

Zach: What about now?

Aidan: Well, I would say that I am. I mean, the way she attached herself to Adam Chandler, she's obviously hiding in plain sight.

Zach: Let me ask you something. Why would I trust you?

Aidan: Annie and I are no longer. We are finito.

Zach: So what are you? An ex-lover looking for revenge?

Aidan: Why do you care what my reasons are? I can help you, both you and Kendall: My contacts, my background, my history with Annie. I'm sure there's something I can do.

Zach: I think you've done more than enough already.

Kendall: I want to do what's right.

Liza: Oh. All right, Kendall. Go ahead, go ahead. Go tell Jesse that you did it. I'm serious. Go do it. Just go get you and Zach thrown in jail. Don't worry about your sons. They'll be fine. Oh, wait -- they're not gonna have any parents. But that's ok because you have done the right thing.

Kendall: Stop it.

Liza: And Annie -- whew! You're gonna be her hero. Why? Because while you are wasting away in some foul cell, she's gonna be sitting pretty in the Chandler Mansion --  free to kill and stab and kidnap once again.

Kendall: I said, stop it.

Liza: Gladly. God, I thought you were stronger than this.

Kendall: I don't have a choice.

Liza: That is a load of bull. You know it. All right, Kendall. You know, whatever you decide, I'm not going anywhere.

Jesse: Well, if you still want to talk, the room's free.

Kendall: What's the point?

Jesse: You tell me.

Kendall: Well, I'm sure Annie has already filled your head with lies about me.

Jesse: Well, yeah. She had a lot to say, I'll tell you that, but I didn't buy any of it.

Kendall: So you still believe that she's guilty?

Jesse: Come on. I mean, the facts are that she has killed before. She has lied to the police more times than I can count. I think Annie is capable of just about anything. Kend -- hey, I'm on your side here.

Kendall: I'm -- I'm sorry.

Jesse: For what?

Kendall: Just for coming here today and wasting your time. Sorry.

Jesse: Hey, you know what? She's barely hanging on here. You need to stay close to her. Make sure she doesn't do anything stupid.

Liza: Well, I'll try. But at the end of the day, that's Zach's job.

Zach: Oh, please, no. I don't have time for this.

Ryan: You got to make time.

Zach: Why, Ryan? Why? I know what you want. You want me to take it easy on Annie.

Ryan: That's not what I want. That's not why I'm here.

Zach: Why are you here? Would you like a drink? No? Or did you just come, because you want to help Jesse walk Kendall down to the station, so she can confess to something that she didn't do?

Ryan: No. I need you to tell me if you honestly believe -- I mean, if you honestly believe that Kendall is innocent.

Zach: I do, and I'm going to prove it.

Ryan: And what if you can't?

Zach: That's not an option.

Ryan: I'm sorry, Zach, but this is the real world, so that is actually an option. I mean, you can set Annie up all you want. But if you don't have some hard evidence, then Kendall can go to trial, and she can be found guilty. That is a possibility.

Zach: Ok. Thanks for coming over. Great talk. Now get out.

Ryan: Kendall and the kids have to be taken out of town. They have to go. It's the only way to keep them safe. All right. You made yourself disappear, and so have I. If anybody can do this, Zach, we can do this.

Zach: No, no, no. Kendall isn't going anywhere. We're gonna fight.

Ryan: And we could lose. She's got to go now! Zach, it's the only way. Don't tell me you haven't thought of this.

Zach: I have thought about it. Of course, I have, just to take her out of the line of fire. But the boys? No. Have you thought about it? You're gonna lose Spike.

Ryan: And that would kill me. That would kill me, but at least Kendall would still be alive.

Natalia: So the flower pot breaks and Annie comes outside, right? That puts her right about here. Did Annie know you were coming back downstairs?

Adam: No, no. She couldn't have.

Scott: Unless -- and I'm just playing devil's advocate here --  but what if Annie tipped over the flower pot on purpose as a way of getting you back down to the parlor?

Adam: For all she knew, I was in the shower or in the bed with the windows all closed. There's no way in the world she could've guessed that I would hear the breaking of a flower pot.

Natalia: That blows the lying in wait theory, especially in that weather. I mean, what was she supposed to do? Hang out in an electrical storm all night? Hey, bear with me for a second. The mystery shooter...

Adam: Zach Slater.

Natalia: Would have been standing right about here. You? You stand right here. Mr. Chandler, go inside and stand in the exact same spot you were standing when the shot was fired.

Adam: You're a bossy thing, aren't you? Yeah. All right. What now?

Natalia: Well, Annie was pretty small. So standing, she would be about here. Scott, do me a favor. Duck down for a second.

Adam: That's where the bullet hit.

Scott: That's amazing.

Natalia: Pretty cool, right? And the bullet was nowhere near Adam.

Scott: Someone else was out on that terrace, and not to kill you.

Natalia: And if Annie Lavery wouldn't have ducked, that bullet would've gone right through her head.

Adam: My God. Annie could've been killed. And I had her thrown in jail.

Jesse: What the hell is this?

Zach: Kendall and the boys aren't going anywhere. You know why? Because she didn't do anything.

Ryan: That's not the point.

Zach: It is the point. That is exactly the point! I'm not gonna put her in a position where she can lose everything: Her family, her friends, and her way of life.

Ryan: That's not up to you.

Zach: It is up to me. Of course, it is. I put her on that terrace with a gun in her hand, because I wanted her to kill Adam. And now I got to fix it.

Ryan: We've been trying to pin this on Annie for weeks now. We can't. She's smart. She's got Adam to protect her.

Zach: Adam? Adam thinks she's guilty.

Ryan: Not anymore, Zach! I just talked to the guy! He doesn't think she's guilty. He doesn't think that she killed Stuart anymore. Look, if Kendall is innocent...

Zach: She is innocent. Why --

Ryan: If she's innocent, we can't put her on trial without solid proof of that. Otherwise, she will be convicted, she will go away, and Spike and Ian will be without their mom for good!

Kendall: What's going on?

Ryan: We're getting you and the boys out of the country tonight.

Amanda: Oh, I'm sorry about the pink ruffles, Trevor. But he does wear them well, don't you think?

Taylor: Huh. Way better than I ever could.

Amanda: Well, I bet Tad would disagree. I saw you guys kissing. It looked serious, too.

Taylor: No, no. It's the opposite of serious, I swear.

Amanda: But you like him, right?

Taylor: Of course, I like him. He's cute and smart and funny. Who wouldn't like him? A little too funny, if you ask me. Everything's a joke with this guy. And the second things get intense, he's useless.

Amanda: Well, you know, he wasn't always like that. Something happened when he got shot.

Taylor: Really? See, that's a good reason for me to stay away from him.

Amanda: What? Why? You guys are obviously into each other.

Taylor: But where will it go? I am clearly rebounding from Brot. And Tad is working through his own stuff with Krystal, who is living with him, by the way. You know, he hides out in that...

Amanda: Man cave.

Taylor: Man cave! Thank you. He doesn't even have a job. He doesn't seem like he wants a job. I don't think he has any idea what he wants to do when he grows up, and he is a grownup. It's kind of weird, you know?

Amanda: Almost as weird as you -- also without a job, shacking up with a baby who's not yours.

Taylor: Different, but point taken.

Amanda: Ha ha!

Krystal: Hey. There you are.

Tad: Busted.

Krystal: Yeah. I'll say. Someone didn't come home last night.

Tad: Well, how do you know I didn't sleep down there in the man cave?

Krystal: Because I checked. I just wanted to go over some utility bills since we're splitting them.

Tad: Right. Uh, yeah. Ok, I'll tell you what. I'll get my checkbook. I'll be right back.

Krystal: Wait, wait, wait, wait. So where were you?

Tad: Heh heh. Out.

Krystal: Yeah, yeah. That much I got.

Tad: Oh, well, you know, there was this whole thing. You know, Jake called, of course, and he wanted me to --  why am I doing this? Uh...

Krystal: Doing what?

Tad: Just making up a lie about where I was last night. You know, I -- I -- I'm seeing someone.

Krystal: Oh. [Krystal chuckles softly] Wow.

Tad: Yeah, that seems to be the word of the day. What do you think? You angry? You're angry?

Krystal: No. No. Tad, you have every right to move on. I mean, we are divorced, for Pete's sake.

Tad: Well, I don't know about you, but I didn't do it for Pete. Come on, honey. Talk to me.

Krystal: I'm upset. Wh -- why? Why am I upset?

Tad: Because you still have feelings for me. And the only reason I say that is because I still have them for you.

Adam: I, uh, had my doubts, but I think your daughter is gonna be a very fine police officer.

Natalia: How did you even know I was here?

Jesse: I got a call from Chandler security saying you were sniffing around the property.

Scott: Natalia just showed us how someone else could've been here the night Uncle Adam was shot at.

Adam: I think the bullet was meant for Annie, not me.

Scott: And when Annie ducked, the bullet missed, sailed right into the parlor.

Adam: Where I just happened to be.

Jesse: This is just so strange. I could've sworn I pulled you off of this case.

Adam: Why? Because she was getting too close to the truth?

Jesse: The truth is Annie was pissed, because you turned her down. She wanted to pay you back.

Natalia: Except the gun hasn't been linked to Annie yet. There is no actual proof she fired that gun.

Adam: You can't argue with that logic, can you?

Jesse: I'll look into that.

Adam: No, you'll do more than look into it. Because Natalia has uncovered not only an attempted murder plot...

Jesse: A possible attempted murder.

Adam: But a possible police cover-up, as well.

Natalia: Whoa. I didn't say that.

Adam: You put an innocent woman in jail.

Jesse: Because you demanded it! You accused Annie of attempted murder!

Adam: Well, obviously I was mistaken! But you went right along with it, didn't you? Now, the question is, what are we gonna do about that?

Ryan: We're gonna make up some passports for you. We're gonna get you out of the country, ok, tonight. First, Canada.

Kendall: Your old hiding place?

Ryan: And then we're gonna take you someplace really safe. I don't know exactly where, but you and the boys will be safe. Zach and I will make sure of that.

Kendall: Zach, you've been really quiet. Is this what you want?

Ryan: It's not what anybody wants, but it's what has to be done to keep you safe.

Kendall: Is this what you want?

Zach: No.

Kendall: I didn't think so. Because we both want the same thing. We want to go back to that night when Ian's heart stopped and the nurse told us she was sorry, only this time we would've stayed, and we would've been there to hear the good news -- that our son pulled through and that he's alive. If we could just go back to that one moment --

Ryan: You can't. Ok? You -- you can't go back.

Kendall: I'll get the boys and pack.

Liza: Ok. Somebody start talking.

Tad: You are my ex-wife and Jenny's mother. You know, there was a whole lot of love in this house at one time. It didn't just disappear.

Krystal: Where did it go?

Tad: It kind of morphs into friendship for you and me.

Krystal: Back to where it started.

Tad: Huh. Kind of.

Krystal: Then why doesn't it even kind of feel the same?

Tad: Well, we're not looking at it from the same place. We're looking at it from the "Well, we used to be together, but we're not anymore, we just sort of live under the same roof" place.

Krystal: Ha ha! That sounds pretty complicated.

Tad: It doesn't have to be.

Krystal: You know, you're right. I am happy for you. You deserve someone special in your life. What? What?

Tad: You want to know who it is. You do.

Krystal: No! No. No, I do not...

Tad: Yes, you do. You are sitting there turning yourself inside out trying to figure out where I was last night and with whom.

Krystal: I don't want to know where you were.

Opal: Oh, that's easy. He was with the Army girl.

Tad: Ma.

Opal: I thought everybody knew.

Tad: I barely know. How could you?

Opal: You got anything you want washed? I'll take that as a no.

Tad: You're surprised?

Krystal: A little.

Tad: A little sad?

Krystal: No.

Liza: All I need is reasonable doubt. I got it in spades.

Kendall: And Emma?

Liza: She's a 7-year-old impressionable girl.

Kendall: Yes, who claims that she saw me murder someone.

Liza: I'm gonna keep her off the stand.

Kendall: How?

Liza: I don't know, but I'm going to figure it out.

Ryan: Well, that's just not good enough.

Liza: Listen, Kendall, if I can get you off, then...

Ryan: "If" you can get her off?

Liza: She will never be charged with this crime again no matter what evidence comes to light.

Kendall: Liza, I really appreciate your determination. I do. But if I do go to trial, there is still a chance that you may lose, right?

Liza: Well, it's possible, but --

Kendall: Well, I'm sorry, but that's a chance I just can't take.

Liza: Huh. Zach, you can't possibly be ok with this? If Kendall runs, the Feds are gonna be all over you. Then you'll never see your sons again.

Ryan: At least Kendall will still be alive...

Zach: Shut up, both of you. Stop talking.

Jesse: I am not dropping the charges against Annie.

Adam: All right. You heard your daughter's ingenious deduction. And we both know, you and I, that Slater is capable.

Jesse: So now this mystery perp has a name?

Natalia: That was all Adam.

Adam: The night Slater came to my house, the night that Stuart was killed? He came for one reason, and that was to kill me. Why? Because I had endangered his son. Then before you know it, Annie is in his sights. And why? Because she had endangered his wife.

Scott: You got to admit it makes sense.

Jesse: No. Really, it doesn't. If Zach kills Annie, that just makes Kendall seem more guilty. But for the sake of argument, let's say that was the plan. Zach sneaks onto your terrace, knocks over a pot, and he waits for Annie.

Adam: Correct.

Jesse: So Annie shows up on the terrace. Zach has got a clean shot. So tell me, geniuses, why is Annie still alive?

Natalia: Well, Zach missed when Annie ducked.

Jesse: So shoot again! Why wouldn't he shoot again?

Adam: Maybe he got scared.

Jesse: Zach doesn't do scared. You know that.

Natalia: Maybe it wasn't Zach.

Jesse: Ok. Sure. Ryan. It could've been Erica, even Kendall, right? But none of these people have a motive, not if they think Annie shot Stuart.

Adam: So Annie was set up. Fine. Either way, she didn't fire that shot, and you know it.

Jesse: Says who?

Adam: Once I leak my suspicion that there has been a cover-up, the news outlets will start screaming foul play. That's when I launch my investigation into you and your friends unless --

Jesse: What do you want, Chandler? What do you want?

Adam: Bingo. I see you're ready to make a deal.

Amanda: Maybe you and Tad just need a common enemy, you know, someone to fight against. I mean, they say passion is the key to every relationship, right? So Jake and I are very passionate about our hate for David.

Taylor: David had nothing to do with you two getting together. It was just the right time for you.

Amanda: So you think it's the wrong time for you and Tad?

Taylor: I don't know what the deal is with Tad. But spending all this time with little Trevor -- you must think I'm so crazy.

Amanda: No.

Taylor: I just want my life to be about something more than just me.

Amanda: I know exactly what you mean. I mean, Trevor is my whole world now. The way he got here was harder than hell, but -- oh, I mean heck. I mean heck. Ha ha! But I would not change one thing.

Amanda: Except maybe the pink dress.

Tad: You know, just so you know, I -- I didn't plan this -- this Taylor thing, ok? I wasn't looking for anything. It just happened. It just fell in my lap.

Krystal: Tad --

Tad: I know. Right about now I should probably shut --

Krystal: Tad -- Tad. I meant what I said. I am happy for you.

[Tad and Krystal hug, then she turns and runs upstairs]

Tad: Krystal --

J.R.: I guess Grandpa went out. Shall we grab our bags from the car?

Marissa: J.R.? There's something you need to know.

J.R.: What's going on?

Annie: I think Dorothy said it best: "There's no place like home."

Adam: I'm sorry. I didn't know how to tell you.

J.R.: Yeah? You should've found a way.

Ryan: Say that you're with me on this, Zach.

[Doorbell rings]

[Zach clears throat]

Zach: Hey.

Jesse: Kendall here?

Ryan: She's with Erica, I think. Yeah.

Jesse: The charges against Annie have been dropped.

Ryan: I knew it.

Zach: You couldn't hold her? There's nothing you could do?

Jesse: Chandler knows something is going on. I had to make a deal. This whole thing would've blown up in all our faces, man.

Zach: All right. So what do we do now?

Jesse: Well, with Annie in the clear, the D.A. stepped in. Kendall's trial is back on, tomorrow morning.

Zach: We'll let her know.

Jesse: There's more. I need to take her into protective custody for the duration of the trial. The judge thinks she's a flight risk. Sorry, fellows. No choice.

Zach: Well, like Ryan said, she's not here.

Kendall: Yes, I am. And I'm ready to go.

Jesse: This way.
