Marissa: You really believe that Liza's raising your baby as hers?

David: Yes, I do. Think of it like this, Marissa. Does another child really deserve to grow up not knowing the truth about who they are?

Marissa: Yeah, I've been there.

David: Yeah. I have two daughters who have died. I was not afforded the opportunity to be a part of your life. If my son is still alive, I will not be kept from his life. I am going to be the father to that boy that I wasn't allowed to be to my other children. So go ahead, call me crazy, but I am convinced Liza's baby is my son.

Marissa: I don't think you're crazy.

Krystal: Come on, Jake, tell me the truth, all right? Tell me that Liza's baby is Liza's, and not David's.

Liza: Well, what kind of question is that, Krystal? Of course, this is my son. Jake delivered him. Jake?

Jake: Yeah. Yeah, I delivered him.

Krystal: I know. I know you delivered the baby. It's just that David seems to think--

Liza: Oh, David. OK. So he sent you to come and torture me? Ok, go back and tell him that if he gets anywhere near my son, I will have to get an injunction against him.

News Reporter: The deadly accident occurred just 24 hours before North was due in court to prosecute Kendall Hart Slater for the murder of Stuart Chandler. The high-profile trial has been delayed.

Annie: I'm sorry.

Adam: Justice for Stuart. That's it. That's all I want. God knows if it's ever gonna happen. Damn it. The D.A. may be dead, but it was no accident.

Randi: Jesse, I killed a man. How am I supposed to live with that?

Jesse: Randi, I will fix this. I promise.

Natalia: Dad? Assistant D.A. Willis is here to see you.

Jesse: Thanks, baby. Send him in. Willis.

ADA Willis: No surprise I'm prosecuting the Slater case. I'm gonna need your help.

Jesse: Anything I can do.

ADA Willis: Unless you got a bead on where I can find Henry's case files. Without those notes, Henry's game plan is history.

Madison: This is Henry's. Case files, notes, strategy for the trial. Every dirty trick he was gonna trot out to crucify your wife. Whoever's taking over for the prosecution would do anything for this. It's yours.

Zach: You did it. You killed your husband.

Madison: Do I honestly look like a murderer? Of course, I didn't kill him. If you don't want this, I'm sure there's an Assistant D.A. who'd be desperate to get his hands on it.

Zach: Why are you offering it to me?

Madison: Because you've done something that Henry never did. You love your wife.

Kendall: The judge granted us continuance, which means that we have more time to prove that Annie killed Stuart.

Ryan: "We"?

Kendall: Ryan, I'm sorry about what happened earlier. I never meant to hurt you. I just--I got so freaked out, you know. I was so sure that I was gonna get sent away to prison for life. And the idea of being away from my boys and everyone I care about--

Ryan: Don't forget Zach.

Erica: Kendall? What is it? Has something happened?

Kendall: You tell me.

Krystal: You believe me.

Marissa: It's not so far fetched. Jake and Amanda were totally amped about keeping the baby from you. They zip off to Barbados. The baby boy dies. A couple weeks later, Liza gives birth to a baby boy, delivered by Jake.

Krystal: You don't know what this means, to have someone understand, support me.

Marissa: If I have a little brother out there, I'd like to know. It won't be easy. They're hyper-protective. So we have to be smart, which means you need to chill, ok? Back off Liza and Jake. Let me deal. I'll find out if that baby's yours.

Jake: Ok, whoa, let's just take it down a notch, all right, ladies? We don't need to be throwing around legal threats and--

Liza: You know what? David is not gonna leave me and my son alone. I will do whatever it takes to protect myself, and believe me, he will have a hell of a fight on his hands.

Jake: Hey, look, it's very simple. I'm a witness. I was there. I spanked the little one's tush on his way into the planet. There's just no doubt that it's Liza's baby.

Krystal: That's lovely. But, Liza, why would you need an injunction if the baby is yours?

Liza: Ok, look. Krystal, I'm sorry. I probably overreacted. It's just that I have fought for Colby for years. I will not fight for my son, especially with a man that is so delusional that he thinks that somehow my flesh and blood is his child.

Krystal: All right, listen. I tried to talk him down. I tried to tell him that it was not possible, but he has worked himself up into believing the impossible.

Jake: Well, I have a solution. Let's just do a DNA test.

Kendall: Car trouble again?

Erica: Phone trouble.

Ryan: Sprinkler trouble.

Kendall: Oh, well, at least there's no spider trouble.

Ryan: Nothing a little rice can't fix.

Kendall: Ok. Enjoy your rice. I, uh, I'm--I'm gonna go.

Erica: Oh, no, Kendall, you don't have to go. You don't have to go. Something I said?

Ryan: Henry North--he's dead.

Erica: What?

Ryan: That's why Kendall came by. Car accident. And they're gonna delay the trial.

Erica: Oh. Thank God, because that'll give us enough time to prove that Annie's the one who killed Stuart. Oh, Kendall came over because she wanted your help.

Ryan: I'm done running after Kendall. I'm done picking up after Kendall.

Erica: And she left so quickly because she thinks that we're--

Ryan: But we're not. And even if we were, it would be none of her business, right?

Erica: Well, I, really--I should go after her. I should go after her, because she's gonna need to talk to me, because this is huge. I mean, it's a continuance, so she will need to talk to me. I just need to get dressed first.

Ryan: Yeah.

Annie: Do you really think someone killed the district attorney?

Adam: Well, it's not too far fetched if you put Zach Slater in the mix. Or Ryan, or Aidan, or Erica. Thugs come cheap. Knock off the D.A. and Kendall's that much closer to getting out of the charges.

Annie: Charges they will try to convince the new prosecutor to hang around my neck.

Adam: No one is gonna touch that beautiful neck of yours. I made you a promise, didn't I?

Annie: I don't know what I would do without you. Oh, hey. You like?

Adam: Very much, yes.

Annie: I thought I would go for a swim, if you don't mind. Clear my head of all this craziness.

Adam: My house is yours.

Annie: Ok, great. Oh, I mean, you could come if you want, and after we could go upstairs, take a nap, if you like.

Madison: I'm offering you your wife's freedom.

Zach: But there's a price.

Madison: There's always a price. When I figure it out, I'll let you know. For now, be grateful.

Zach: Be grateful and cover your back if the police start asking questions.

Madison: No, I don't need you to cover for me. I know who killed my husband. I saw the killer on the hotel security tapes.

Zach: What are you gonna do about that?

Liza: Why would I submit my baby to a DNA test? I've got nothing to prove to David or to anybody else.

Jake: It would get him off your back.

Liza: David need to just go away.

Krystal: All right, listen. I will talk to him, all right? I'll try to make him see the pain that he is causing, and I'm sorry I upset you.

Jake: Take care.

Liza: Thank you. A DNA test. Are you out of your mind?

Jake: It's genius. It's genius. He takes the test, I fix the results, we find out that daddy is sperm donor number 2,777--

Liza: Ok, yeah--no, I'm not gonna take that kind of a risk.

Jake: Really? Well, then, you better hope that Krystal takes David down, and by down I mean all the way down, because he will be back, I promise you.

Liza: No, no, no. There's gonna be something else we can do.

Jake: Really? David will throw everything he's got at this. And I swear to you that as I stand here today, there is no way that he will every be able to prove that this is his son.

Ryan: It didn't work. Dead. The rice didn't do its magic.

Erica: Well, now sometimes you just have to have a little faith. You'd be surprised what can happen if you do.

Erica: Thank you -- again.

Madison: My husband brought this on himself. I don't see any reason to make things any messier.

Zach: And if the police figure out that Henry's death wasn't an accident, the spouse is the first suspect.

Madison: The police won't be coming after me.

Zach: No? How can you be so sure?

Madison: Because the dirty hooker that killed my husband had a little help from Police Chief Hubbard.

ADA Willis: North seemed to think he had an open and shut case, but all I see are holes. I mean, he was gonna have to pull a smoking gun out of his ass to win. Is Mrs. Slater the only suspect?

Jesse: It's the only one he wanted to focus on. There is reason to believe that Annie Lavery is a possible suspect. She was on-scene, and she has killed before.

Natalia: We just got a signal from Annie Lavery's monitor. She's running.

Zach: So Jesse Hubbard was on this tape with your husband and the woman that he--

Madison: The woman that he threw his life away for? Yes. Servicing the D.A. and the police chief. Busy girl.

Zach: Could I see the tapes?

Madison: I destroyed them. Enough of this. Take this. Just don't tell the police where you got it. Go save your wife.

Liza: I know. Somebody's hungry. Hi, Colby.

Colby: Hi. Uh-oh. I made a mistake. I sent all the bottles to be cleaned. Oh, but room service promised they're be here any minute.

[Knock at door]

Colby: Oh, here we go.

Marissa: Hey, I passed the room service guy. Thought I'd deliver the goods.

Colby: Oh, just in time.

Marissa: Any excuse to hang out with a baby -- if it's ok?

Colby: Yeah, yeah, come in.

Marissa: Oh, your son is so beautiful.

Liza: Yes, he is. He is perfect.

Colby: And starving. Here, let's fix you a bottle, huh?

Liza: Thank you.

Colby: Yeah. Yeah. Let's go.

Marissa: I'm sorry about that day at the police station. I totally went off on you.

Liza: Well, it's all right. You were protecting your father, right?

Marissa: Yeah. And you kept him out of jail. Thank you. Thank you.

Liza: So, uh, you still studying to be a lawyer?

Marissa: Yeah.

Liza: Well, that passion--it's good for you. It'll work very well as a lawyer.

[Baby cries]

Marissa: May I try? I've been told I have a magic touch.

Colby: Yeah, he's all yours.

Marissa: HI. Hello. Hello, handsome man. What's all this fuss about?

Colby: How did you do that?

Marissa: Magic.

[Knock at door]

Liza: Oh, wow, what a surprise.

Zach: I need to talk to you.

Liza: All right. Um, girls, it's beautiful out. Do you mind taking Stuart out for a walk?

Colby: No. He loves cruising the boardwalk for hotties.

Marissa: Well, we have a lot in common. So do I.

Liza: So, what is it?

Adam: What the hell do you want?

Jesse: Annie here?

Adam: Where else would she be?

Jesse: Well, her monitor indicates that she has fled. You've got 10 seconds to produce her, otherwise--

Annie: What's going on?

Jesse: You been swimming? First time since you been here, huh? Pool must be out of range.

Adam: And I suggest you adjust the monitor.

Natalia: Or you could change the location of your pool.

Adam: Or take the monitor off entirely. Annie's not going anywhere. The rest of you, however, are encouraged to leave.

Jesse: Hey, but while I'm here, why don't I ask you a few questions?

Adam: Oh, oh. The D.A. dies, the sharks start circling. No questions.

Annie: It's ok, Adam. I want to do this. I want to put an end to this once and for all.

Krystal: Thank you for meeting me.

David: You said it was important.

Krystal: It's about Liza's baby.

David: I was wrong. Liza's baby is obviously not my child. And you're right. It was just the grief talking. I don't know why, Krystal. I just, for one second, one flash, I saw Liza's baby and I saw my son. I guess I wanted him to be alive so badly that I just made some crazy story up in my head and tried to make it real. I'm sorry. I'm sorry for dragging you into this.

Krystal: Listen, you lost a son. Everyone has their own way of grieving. I think yours is just a little bit more unconventional.

David: Yean. So I'm forgiven?

Krystal: There's nothing to forgive.

David: You know, you never answered my question earlier. Now I know that I have no right to ask this right now, but I need to know, Krystal. Do you still love me?

Aidan: Hey. So I heard about North. It's, um, it's a great break for Kendall. So what's the plan?

Ryan: No plan.

Aidan: I thought you and Kendall were keen on getting a confession out of Annie.

Ryan: So how's it going on your end?

Aidan: I haven't had a chance to plant another bug on the Chandler Mansion. So I've got nothing. So you -- you just want to let this go, or what?

Ryan: Yeah. Yeah, I'm done playing vigilante. If Annie is guilty, then Jesse will prove it.

Aidan: Well, congratulations. You've done what I should have done a long time ago -- cut loose a woman you never had in the first place.

[Elevator bell rings]

Erica: I'm so glad about the continuance.

Kendall: Is that why you're here?

Erica: I thought we could talk.

Kendall: Well, there's nothing to talk about.

Erica: Honey, what you saw at Ryan's--

Kendall: Mom, I know exactly what I saw.

Liza: Wow, that is tragic -- the death of a rising political star. Why exactly do you have his briefcase?

Zach: I'm just lucky, I guess.

Liza: Uh-huh. Did you make your own luck?

Zach: I didn't kill him. Now in here is the entire strategy for Kendall's case.

Liza: Well, this is pretty much a treasure trove, but why exactly do I have it?

Zach: You'll need it in court. Starting today you're Kendall's lawyer, and you will get her acquitted.

Krystal: Yes, I love you.

David: I'm gonna make it work this time, Krystal. I swear it. I'm gonna respect you, honor you. I want to trust you in everything. And I'm gonna make up for all my mistakes, ok? And I promise I will never hurt you again, if you'll just give us this second chance.

Krystal: No, no, David. No second chances.

David: Wait a minute, wait a minute. That -- that doesn't make sense. You just said that we love each other, right?

Krystal: Your love makes me lose all sense of myself. What's up, what's down, what's right, or what's wrong. It's just so self-destructive.

David: Ok, ok. All right. Then we do it different this time, Krystal. Just tell me what you want. We can make it work.

Krystal: We can't make it work. Can't you see that? You need so much love. As much as I love you, I just can't possibly love you enough. Nobody can.

David: But you do love me. Isn't that what you just said? So there has to be a way for us to make this work, for us to be together. Krystal, you're not listening to me. I told you I will do anything, ok? Anything for you to come back.

Krystal: If you love me and if you really want what's best for me, then you will just let me go.

David: No. I can't. I won't do that, Krystal. I need you in my life. You already said that we feel the same way. So just tell me what it is that you want.

Marissa: You're so lucky. I always wanted a baby brother--or sister.

Colby: It wasn't exactly part of my life plan. But Mom blew into town pregnant. Surprise.

Marissa: Yeah, I heard that the whole baby thing was pretty wild.

Colby: Mom didn't even make it to the hospital. She had the baby in the Martin's basement. It was crazy.

Marissa: Were you there?

Colby: By accident, and once I saw what was going on I tried to help out.

Marissa: And they wouldn't let you?

Colby: I delivered Krystal's baby, so I thought Jake would be cool with some extra hands, but he kicked me out.

Marissa: Why?

Colby: He said there was a complication.

Marissa: Scary. What kind of complication?

Colby: Oh, I don't know. It turned out ok, though. They were both fine. When they let me see Stuart, he was perfect. When Jenny was born, she was all wrinkly and kind of red, but Stuart looked like he was dropped out of the sky by a stork.

Liza: Why exactly would I represent your wife, Zach? I mean, she's got a lawyer. She's got Jack. He's one of the best.

Zach: He quit.

Liza: Ok, well, there's certainly dozens of other lawyers.

Zach: No, I know there are. But I think they may have an ethical problem with this.

Liza: Ah, right. So Kendall's ok with this?

Zach: I'll deal with Kendall.

Liza: You know what? I would love to help you, but I've got a full caseload right now. I'm actually representing Annie Lavery.

Zach: That's a different case. You're gonna have to make some room.

Liza: You certainly are confident.

Zach: Yeah. Your son is beautiful.

Liza: Blackmail.

Zach: Whatever it takes.

Liza: Come on, Zach, you're really -- you're gonna blackmail me to coerce me into taking this case?

Zach: Can I say something? You talk about your son. He's not really your son, is he? But no one has to know about that. Just take the case.

Aidan: I should have listened to you a long time ago. Stay clear of -- clear of Annie. She's the worst kind of crazy, because she knows exactly what she's doing and how to cover her tracks.

Ryan: Well, she's Adam's problem now.

Aidan: So what happened with Kendall?

Ryan: Well, I was a little crazy there. It's just that she's still in love with Zach, so I'm gonna keep my distance.

Aidan: Well, I don't know about you, mate, but I'm gonna take a break. No crazies, no rebounds, no complications.

Ryan: I like that hard core. Hard core.

Aidan: Man's got to look after himself, right?

Ryan: But if a real connection happens, I mean, it's worth the risk. Sometimes you just got to have a little faith.

Erica: Honey, there is nothing going on between Ryan and me.

Kendall: I know that. But I do keep finding you together.

Erica: Because we've been working together to help you, to try to get the charges against you dropped.

Kendall: Well, thank you so much for that, but I think doing it naked is a bit extreme, don't you think?

Erica: I was not naked. I was in Ryan's shirt. Look, we were at the Yacht Club. We got caught in the sprinklers.

Kendall: Well, he's rescued you from car trouble and spiders. Why not sprinklers?

Erica: Honey, where is this coming from? You broke up with Ryan. You're home. And you have Zach.

Kendall: No, Mom, I don't have Zach, because Zach doesn't want me. And I don't blame him.

Colby: What's all that?

Liza: Well, I am representing Kendall Slater.

Colby: Since when?

Liza: Since Zach asked me to.

Colby: Don't you and Kendall hate each other?

Liza: Yeah, well, it's not gonna be easy, but I am starting my new practice. There's nothing like a high-profile murder case to bring in clients.

Colby: Isn't that gonna be kind of crazy, though? A full-time trial? You just had a baby. It's a lot to juggle.

Liza: Well, honey, I can multitask with the best of them, and when I can't I'm gonna ask you to put in a little extra time with Stuey.

Marissa: Or you could hire a law student clerk who needs the experience and happens to have a mad crush on your son. Hey, sweetie. Here, I got to go.

Colby: All right.

Marissa: Here you go, little darling.

Colby: That's, um, a great idea.

Marissa: Just say the word, and I'll gladly give up the wonderful world of waiting tables.

Liza: Ok, well, um, I will think about that.

Marissa: Sure. Well, here's my number.

Liza: Ok.

Marissa: Give me a call, and I promise I'll hit the ground running.

Adam: There is no reason for you to be talking to this man, certainly not without your attorney.

Annie: It's ok. I don't need a lawyer. I am just going to tell Jesse the truth and then maybe everybody will leave me alone about your brother's death. Listen, you're supposed to go see Little A. Go -- have fun. I'll be fine.

Adam: Jesse, you hear that? She better be fine.

Annie: Ooh, wow, felt good to get some exercise. The water feels amazing. Mm. But that's not why you're here, is it? You're here because of Erica Kane.

Jesse: Yeah. You want to tell me why Erica Kane left 5 messages with me about you?

Annie: Erica was here. She locks me in this room and tried to force me to confess to killing Stuart. She wouldn't stop.

Jesse: And then what did you do?

Annie: Nothing. But Erica is insisting that I went all homicidal maniac on her.

Jesse: Well, we'll speak with Erica, get her side of the story.

Annie: Yeah. And you'll probably believe her over believing me, but I am telling you, I did not attack her, and I did not kill Stuart Chandler.

Jesse: Well, you got to admit, it's not that big of a stretch. I mean, let's face it. You have killed a person or two.

Annie: When I was out of my mind, after years of being tortured by my brother. But now I'm of sound mind and body.

Jesse: So, Erica's got it all wrong.

Annie: Let's be honest. Erica wants to save her daughter, but in reality, the real reason she wants me to hang is that she lost Adam Chandler to me, and she can't stand it.

Erica: Of course, Zach loves you. He married you. You're living together.

Kendall: Mom, we remarried so that he wouldn't have to testify against me. And I'm living back in the house so the boys have a family. But that's it. Zach doesn't love me.

Erica: Honey, I told you a month ago you are wrong. Zach loves you.

Kendall: Did he honestly say that? See? I knew it. How could you lie about something like that?

Erica: I did not lie. I -- I asked Zach if he loved you, and believe me, the look on his face -- it just told me everything that I needed to know. And Ryan is out of the picture. And you clearly love Zach. Are you ready to work it out?

Kendall: It doesn't matter what I want. Zach's done with me.

Erica: How can you say that? And don't you dare give up. Look at everything that man has done for you. As far as that goes, look at what we've all done for you to try to prove that you're innocent. I mean, you should know. I went to Adam's house. I tried to get Annie to confess, but instead she -- she attacked me. She tried to strangle me.

Kendall: I know. I heard. So, what did you -- you run to Ryan's house, and he kissed it and made it better? Oh, my God. Mom, that's bad. That's really bad. You could have died. My God, did you tell Jesse? Annie should be arrested.

Erica: Oh, believe me, honey, by the time I'm finished, she will be.

[Telephone rings]

Kendall: Excuse me.

[Phone continues ringing]

Kendall: Zach?

Zach: I need you to come home.

Kendall: What's wrong?

Zach: How soon can you be here?

Kendall: I can leave right now. Ok, uh, I got to go, Mom.

Erica: Honey, Zach loves you. So do I.

Kendall: You're crazy-making, you know that?

Erica: It's part of my charm. You kiss those boys for me.

Kendall: I will.

Erica: OK.

Kendall: Oh, stay out of the sprinklers, please.

[Erica laughs]

[Elevator bell rings]

[Erica remembers and smiles]

Erica: Oh, no! No! My phone.

Ryan: Not that way. This way.

Erica: Ok.

Adam: You accuse Annie of being crazy? You're the lunatic here.

Krystal: Hola.

Jake: Hey. Talk to David?

Krystal: He realized he overreacted.

Jake: Oh, good. So he's gonna leave Liza and her baby alone?

Krystal: He says he is.

Jake: Think he means it?

Krystal: As much as he means anything.

Jake: What else? What happened? Did something happen?

Krystal: David and I just --

Jake: What?

Krystal: Why can't he just let it go?

[Telephone rings]

Jake: Jake Martin. Hey, what's up? Yeah? Well, you tell the little guy I said hello. And give him a kiss for me. Thanks.

Colby: I've got a class. Anything you need while I'm out?

Liza: No, honey, I'm good. Wait, Colby. Do you think that we can actually trust Marissa?

Colby: Because she's David's daughter?

Liza: Yeah.

Colby: From what I've seen, Marissa's cool. She sticks up for David, but he's her dad. And I know about sticking up for twisted dads.

Liza: Ok. So we can trust her.

Marissa: Colby said that Jake booted her out when Liza was in labor and that when she saw the baby, it didn't look like a newborn.

David: You see that?

Marissa: Yeah.

David: Maybe I'm not so crazy after all.

Marissa: There's more. Liza's taken over Kendall's defense. So I volunteered to clerk for her and babysit. I mean, that kind of access I can find out more.

David: That's excellent. What happened?

Marissa: Oh, a little gift from baby Stuart. This thing is going straight into the wash.

David: What, he spit up?

Marissa: Yeah, like a champ.

David: Stop! You just gave me exactly what I need -- my son's DNA.

[Beep]

[Ryan laughs when Erica's phone turns on]

Adam: You and your blasted interference. Jesse Hubbard has Annie right now, trying to force a confession out of her.

Erica: I hope he gets it.

Adam: Don't think I don't know what you're up to. This has nothing to do with justice, nothing to do with Kendall. You're jealous, and you want Annie to hang for it.

Erica: Adam, for the last time, I am not jealous. But I do care about you. And I care what happens to you. If you keep Annie Lavery in your life, Adam, you're gonna up as dead as Stuart.

Annie: Erica keeps waving this flag about her daughter's innocence, but really, she's just angry that Adam dumped her for me.

Jesse: Yeah, well, Erica's not the only one who believes you're guilty.

Annie: Oh, please. Kendall? Ryan? Aidan? They all have something to gain by putting me behind bars. But they don't matter. Adam loves me. He's gonna propose. I am going to become the new Mrs. Adam Chandler, and I will be so golden that no one will be able to bring me down.

[Door closes]

Kendall: Is everything ok? Are the boys all right?

Zach: Yeah, everything's fine. I got you a new lawyer.

Kendall: Wow, you work fast.

Zach: We don't have time to waste. Um, Liza Colby will be defending you.

Kendall: Liza? No. No, I'll plead guilty before I let that bitch represent me.
