Episode #10159

Provided by Suzanne

Randi: What do you want?

D.A. North: You know what I want -- you. Be with me, Randi. For old time's sake? I'll give you anything you want.

Randi: I can't do that. I won't.

D.A. North: You're afraid. You're afraid to remember how good we were together. Oh, God. It's been so long since I've touched you, since I've held you, since I've undressed you. Don't be afraid.

Randi: That's not why I'm here.

Frankie: Yeah, but, Mom, what's the big deal?

Angie: Because I already ran tests on those hair samples. You know as well as I do doing it again won't change the results.

Jesse: I know, baby, but this guy -- I've just got to go through the motions to get this D.A. off my back. He's all over me to find something, anything, to nail Kendall Slater. Baby --

Angie: This is ridiculous.

Jesse: I know, baby, but -- thank you. This guy North, I told him I was done doing his dirty work, but he's relentless.

Frankie: Yeah, that's because he's a power hungry jerk. Forget him and do you.

Jesse: Well, that was the plan, to finish the investigation, make sure we had the right killer, but there's no time. Kendall's trial is starting, man.

Frankie: But if she didn't do it, then --

Jesse: This guy doesn't give a damn whether she did it or not. This is all about him making sure he has the most votes come election time.

Frankie: He may not respect the law, but you do.

Jesse: Yeah, but this guy -- this guy really makes me want to go extreme.

Frankie: Look. As long as you don't get hurt, I say do what you need to do to save Kendall.

Zach: Have you heard from Kendall?

Ryan: No, I haven't. She hasn't returned my phone calls.

Zach: I knew it. She left town.

Ryan: Are you serious?

Zach: Yeah. She didn't want to face the jury so she ran.

[Cell phone rings]

Zach: Kendall, where are you?

Kendall: You don't want to know.

Zach: Fine. Just -- just come home.

Kendall: I can't.

Zach: We still have time. North doesn't have this wrapped up. We can -- we still -- we can do this.

Kendall: Zach, listen to me.

Zach: We can punch holes in this case, but you've got to come home.

Kendall: I'm sorry, Zach. You're just going to have to trust me.

Erica: Well, you may fool Adam, but you won't be so lucky with me. So, you can sound the alarms and you can hide behind Adam's hired muscle. I will get past them all and I will come at you when you least expect it. I will come at you with everything I've got until you have no choice but to tell the truth that my daughter, Kendall, did not kill Stuart. You did.

[Erica screams]

[Annie grunts]

Annie: No more. Do you understand me? No more. Man's voice : What's going on in there?

[Knocking at door]

[Erica gasping]

[Knocking at door]

Adam: What happened?

Erica: She tried to kill me.

Adam: Nice try. Are you all right?

Randi: We had a deal. I came to D.C. and you laid off Kendall and Jesse, and that's it.

D.A. North: What did you think we'd do all alone in this hotel? It can be just like it used to be.

Randi: No, it can't. Everything's changed. I'm married now. You're married.

D.A. North: Look me in the eye and tell me you don't remember what we had.

Randi: Of course I remember. What I felt for you I had never felt for anyone else before, but that was the past, Henry.

D.A. North: God, I've missed you. Have you missed me?

Randi: I've thought about you. I've wondered.

D.A. North: Then say yes and we can pick up where we left off.

Randi: We're -- we are different people now. When I first met you I had nothing, and now I have a husband, and a life, and a career, and you have an amazing life, too, one that has nothing to do with me.

D.A. North: And none of it matters.

Randi: You're a brilliant lawyer, a district attorney, just beginning politics. And that's your future, and mine is here with Frankie.

D.A. North: I can give you so much more.

Randi: Look at me. See who I am right now. That lost girl who used to run the streets? She is gone.

D.A. North: So you don't need me anymore. Is that what you're saying?

Randi: What I'm saying is that you need to let this go. You need to let me go. I'm sorry. I know it's hard to hear, but you have --

D.A. North: I don't have to do again. I married Madison because she could put me on the fast track, and I played the part. I kept up the facade, but I don't love her. I can't love her because I never stopped loving you. I worshipped you, and you ran away. You disappeared without a trace.

Randi: I told you why. It would've never worked between us. Henry, everything that you wanted I would've ruined for you. You would've ended up hating me.

D.A. North: Why are you doing this?

Randi: I'm trying to explain to you.

D.A. North: You're lying. You want me just as much as I want you. Why can't you just admit the truth?

Erica: You don't believe me? She left her claw marks on my neck.

Adam: Oh, more theatrics. Do they ever end?

Erica: Adam, that maniac tried to strangle me to death. Please call the police.

Adam: Oh, you'd love that, wouldn't you? Put Annie back in prison after you've had her pulled out of the hospital after she'd been stabbed, and -- and you harass her nonstop?

Annie: I mean, Adam, they say I'm the crazy one. You should've seen Erica. Her hands were wrapped around her own neck like some deranged lunatic.

Erica: There's only one lunatic in this house. No, I take it back. There are two. What are you doing?

Adam: I'm having you removed.

Erica: But she's the murderer.

Adam: Hmm. She makes less noise.

Man: What's the trouble, Mr. Chandler?

Erica: It's a false alarm, gentlemen. I'm leaving.

Adam: Grab her.

Erica: Get your hands off me. Adam, what's wrong with you?

Adam: She's an intruder and a dangerous one, so cuff her.

Erica: Stop it right now. I swear I'm going to bring you up on charges, Adam, and if Annie doesn't kill you, I will.

J.R.: Well, well. Just another boring night at the Chandlers'.

Ryan: Maybe Kendall's got the right idea, ok? The longer that she stays away, the more time we have to press Annie for answers.

Zach: Annie's not the problem. The D.A. is the problem.

Ryan: Either way Kendall just panicked, she split, we'll find her, and we'll talk some sense into her.

Zach: If North finds out that she's missing, it'll play right into his hands.

Ryan: All right. Well, tell me -- tell me what the next move is.

Zach: I'm going to get my people to look for her.

Ryan: I'll cover some ground on this end, too. What? Where did you --

Kendall: I -- I -- I climbed up the fire escape. I wanted to make sure Zach was gone.

Ryan: Why? What -- what is going on? The -- the way that you said good-bye, I thought you didn't need any of us anymore.

Kendall: I do need someone, Ryan -- I need you.

Erica: You have no right to keep me here. I demand to call my lawyer.

J.R.: What the hell is going on?

Adam: Erica broke into my house. I'm having her arrested.

J.R.: Wait a second. Erica's been coming in and out of this house for months. You never had a problem with it. Now you're siccing the cops on her?

Adam: My brother's killer is still out there. I'm not taking any chances.

J.R.: Really? Erica's the last person you should worry about.

Adam: Hmm.

J.R.: We need to talk -- in private.

J.R.: This is how you treat Erica after everything she's done for us.

Adam: I'm not going to let her destroy the woman who saved my life.

J.R.: So what's the plan, dad? You drag Erica down to the police station, then what? How long until her publicist is on the phone with every reporter across the country telling them that you've completely lost your mind and that you're shacking up with the woman that stabbed her?

Adam: I have an obligation to protect Annie because she protected me.

J.R.: Erica's greatest weapon is her voice. You throw her in jail, she's going to use the media to attack us and kill Chandler Enterprises.

Adam: Let her squawk.

J.R.: That's fine. But you prepare yourself because this time tomorrow, you're going to be public enemy number one.

Erica: You won't get away with this.

Annie: I think I already did. How are those cuffs? A little tight?

Erica: Not as tight as your ankle bracelet.

Annie: I wouldn't offend me if I were you. If those guards were suddenly called off, you really wouldn't have a way to defend yourself, would you? Now, what am I in the mood for? Brandy, port? Oh, vodka.

Erica: Well, enjoy yourself while you can, playing queen of the castle, Adam giving you everything you need.

Annie: Adam's been extremely generous.

Erica: There's still one thing you don't have -- Emma. And the only hope you have of ever seeing Emma again is to tell the truth, Annie. Admit that you are the one who killed Stuart.

Annie: Since when did you become chief justice of Pine Valley?

Erica: Since you went after everybody I care about.

Annie: You want me to beg your forgiveness? Is that it? I am sorry, your majesty. I am sorry for stealing Adam's attention, I am sorry for moving into his house, and I am sorry I didn't ram that knife straight into your heart. Maybe next time.

Adam: Let her go.

Man: Sir, are you sure?

Adam: Yes, I -- I just -- I just want her gone.

Zach: Kendall is missing. I want you to put a team together.

Francesca: I'm on it.

Zach: You hear anything, you let me know.

Madison: Seems as if someone's wife's disappeared. Funny, so has my husband. Join me?

Zach: Another time.

Madison: Did your people report back on Henry?

Zach: Not yet, no.

Madison: Nothing that can help with Kendall's case, but I'm sure you know who he's with in Washington. Tell me. Tell me who's sharing his bed.

Zach: You know what I can tell you? The other women don't matter. You matter. You deserve better.

Madison: Well, tell that to Henry. He will laugh in your face.

Zach: Henry. Everything he has is because of you. Everything. You're better than that, better than him.

Madison: There's nothing I can do about it.

Zach: Yes, there is. Stand up. Show the world what kind of a person he really is.

Madison: All I ever do is worry about what other people think -- my father, our friends, society. What about me, huh? What about what I think, what I feel? I don't want to live like this anymore.

Zach: Then don't. You have the power. Use it.

D.A. North: When you left, I tried to shut you out of my mind and pour myself into my work.

Randi: Are you going to lay off Kendall and Jesse or not?

D.A. North: But every day since then, for years, I -- I've hoped to turn a corner and see you standing there looking at me with those -- those beautiful eyes. Now that that's finally happened, you think I'm just going to step aside and watch you throw your life away on some invalid?

Randi: My husband is a hero and he got injured serving his country. We all owe him.

D.A. North: So you're with him out of obligation?

Randi: I am with him because I love him and he is the most incredible man I've ever met.

D.A. North: How long did you know him before you got married? Five minutes? You were on the rebound and along comes this doctor, the -- the soldier, the police chief's son, and it all sounded like a great bet. But now you're stuck.

Randi: No.

D.A. North: Just like I am.

Randi: No, I'm not.

D.A. North: We can be free. We can start over again anywhere we want.

Randi: Do you care about me?

D.A. North: More than anything.

Randi: Then listen to me. I'm sorry that you're not happy with your wife, and I know you will find someone out there for you, but it's not me. I found the man that I want to be with for the rest of my life. I found the person that I belong with.

D.A. North: Don't say that.

Randi: I don't want to hurt you, Henry, but you have to hear me. It's over.

D.A. North: Do not say that.

Randi: Ow. Henry, please get your hands off --

Kendall: I want Zach to think I'm gone.

Ryan: Why?

Kendall: Because I have a plan but I can't do it without your help.

[Door bell chimes]

Kendall: Don't -- don't tell anybody I'm here here, please.

Ryan: Ok.

Kendall: Please.

Ryan: All right, ok.

Erica: Oh, Ryan. Thank God. I thought I was going to die. And then she just lunged at me like a wild animal. I mean, the look in her eyes -- I had seen that once before right before she stabbed me that time.

Ryan: Are you serious? Annie just snapped out of nowhere?

Erica: Yeah. I mean, I was trying to convince her that the best thing she could possibly do would be to -- to come clean, but, Ryan, that woman is truly out of her mind.

Ryan: And obviously not capable of taking care of our daughter.

Erica: Oh, no. I mean, Ryan, I don't think that I even realized how sick she is until -- I mean, there she was. She had her -- her hands on my throat, and I kept on gasping for air, and she just -- she just --

Ryan: Oh, God. Thank God you're ok.

Erica: Thank you.

Ryan: Thank God you're ok. I'll, um, I'll get you a glass of water, ok?

Erica: Oh, thank you, but listen. This -- that wasn't the worst, because she threatened me. Annie threatened to finish me off. She said the next time she was going to ram the knife right through my heart.

Ryan: Ok, that is not going to happen. She's not going to hurt you again.

Erica: Well, I really want Annie behind bars, but I don't want to give up my life to put her there.

Ryan: No, I understand that. I understand that. We'll just regroup, ok, and then we'll just figure out another way to see if Annie is the one that killed Stuart.

Erica: Ryan, Annie is definitely the one who killed Stuart. I mean, if only Adam wasn't so blind -- Adam actually took her part. You believe me, don't you?

Ryan: Yes, I do.

Erica: See? That's -- that's why I needed to come here. [Erica exhales]

Ryan: There is -- there is something that I need to tell you. Um, --

Erica: Well, I don't like the sound of that.

Ryan: Zach's probably already left you a ton of messages. He thinks that Kendall has -- has left town to avoid the trial.

Erica: Oh, no. Ok, then we have to find her.

Ryan: We will. We will.

Erica: Ryan, you have to know something. You have to know that my daughter is innocent. The killer is Annie.

Adam: Erica was trying to dig up some dirt, trying to find some proof that Annie killed Stuart.

Annie: She has a whole gang helping her -- Ryan, Zach. Aidan even bugged this house.

J.R.: So Annie's a suspect. I thought Kendall was as good as convicted.

Adam: Precisely, which is why her posse is so desperate to pin the crime on someone else.

J.R.: Unless someone else did it, and maybe that someone else is the one who tried to strangle Erica.

Annie: You don't know what happened. She started yelling, and screaming, and she put those marks on her own neck.

J.R.: So you're saying that you didn't try to hurt Erica.

Annie: Do you see? This is what they all want. They want you to doubt me so I go to prison and their precious Kendall gets set free.

J.R.: Oh, that crew would go all out to save one of their own.

Annie: See?

J.R.: But framing someone for murder? No. And if they're pointing fingers at Annie, they must really think that she did it.

Adam: They're wrong.

J.R.: How do you know? You don't. But you turn your back on Erica, you kick me and little Adam out of this house, you spend tons of cash on Annie's defense. Oh, yeah, dad. You're going all out for someone, for this woman, who could be your brother's killer.

Adam: Stuart was the heart of this family. Do you really think that I would defend Annie if I thought she was the one who ripped out my heart?

Randi: I said stop.

D.A. North: Relax.

Randi: Stop it.

D.A. North: You're really choosing that cripple over me.

Randi: I shouldn't have come.

D.A. North: Oh, that's for sure. What if your husband finds out?

Randi: There is nothing for my husband to find out.

D.A. North: What is he going to think when he hears that you've been sneaking off to have sex while he's laid up in the hospital?

Randi: What has happened to you? You would lie like that just to hurt me? You never used to treat me like that.

D.A. North: Well, like you said, we're different people now. I mean, you are a former hooker who's husband could no longer satisfy her so you turn to your ex to fulfill her needs. Now, you think your perfect marriage can survive that?

Randi: What about your reputation? Your name, huh?

D.A. North: I'll survive. But, you, on the other hand, I can recommend a very good divorce attorney.

Randi: Please don't do this.

D.A. North: I'm done talking. Take off your clothes.

Randi: What is the rush? Why don't we, um, why don't we go to that little Italian restaurant by the water, and we can go get a glass of wine, and maybe have --

D.A. North: Do you think I'm stupid?

Randi: Let go. You're hurting me.

D.A. North: No, you don't tell me what to do. I do not take orders from women. I am in charge now.

[Randi gasps]

D.A. North: Say you want me. Say it.

Randi: Don't come any closer. Henry, stop.

Randi: Oh, my God.

[Randi breathes heavily]

Angie: Same evidence, same results. Why are you wasting your time and mine on this?

Jesse: You know, that's a damn good question.

[Jesse exhales]

Jesse: I'm done. You know, I'm going to DC. I'm going to tell this guy to his face I'm turning in my badge.

Angie: Wait a minute. You're going to resign as chief because the D.A.'s an ass?

Jesse: This guy is using the legal system for his own personal gain. He's building a death penalty case on circumstantial evidence. The scary part is, he could win this.

Angie: Yeah, but, sweetheart, is this really what you want?

Jesse: What I really want is for Kendall to have a fair trial. I want time to look at other suspects, find new evidence, convict the right person.

Angie: And North has made that impossible.

Jesse: But I still think I can help Kendall. I'm going to make a statement explaining exactly why I want to step down. Let's put a huge dent in this guy's political future. No way he'll put me on the stand after that. One less person to turn on the woman that I'm damn sure is innocent.

Angie: You know, I so admire your humanity.

Jesse: And I so admire you.

[Phone ringing]

Frankie: Ohh...

[Frankie sighing]

Frankie: Hey, beautiful.

Randi: HI. I'm so happy you answered the phone. I really needed to talk to you. I wanted to hear your voice.

Frankie: Yeah, well, between eating the chicken surprise and squeezing the world in the palm of my hand, I'm a very busy man. But you know I've always got time for my baby. So how's it going? You taking care of business?

Randi: Huh? What do you mean?

Frankie: Fusion, the reason why you had to go out of town.

Randi: Yeah, right, I -- somehow I missed my flight.

Frankie: Damn.

Randi: I know. I really want to be with you so much.

Frankie: Randi, are you ok? You sound a little weird.

Randi: Um, yeah. I mean, I'm just tired. You know, with -- it's been a really long day. Frankie, I love you.

Frankie: I love you, too.

[Randi sighing]

Randi: Ohh.

[D.A. North grunts]

D.A. North: Madison? Oh, thank God. Help me.

[D.A. North grunts]

Madison: Who did this to you? Was it one of the hookers that you hired? What happened to you -- didn't give her enough of my money?

D.A. North: Oh, please.

Madison: Do you remember the last time that we talked? You told me that sometimes I make it hard for you to love me.

D.A. North: Help me.

Madison: I wish I could. But right now you're making it very hard for me to love you.

Ryan: We will find Kendall, ok? I am sure that she hasn't gone far.

Erica: Ryan, we went about this all wrong. Confronting Annie like that? I mean, what were we thinking?

Ryan: Ok, well, when Kendall comes home, we'll just come up with a new plan.

Erica: Ryan, the trial is starting. We have to do this now.

Ryan: You have had such a hard day already. This is what I think you should do. I think you should go home and just have a nice, long, hot bath.

Erica: Oh, that actually sounds great. And a hot bath always helps me to think. Of course, it won't be nearly as much fun as that old tin tub with you hiding behind that blanket curtain.

Ryan: Yeah. I'll tell you what. I'll call you as soon as I hear anything about Kendall, ok?

Erica: Thank you.

Ryan: She's gone. You can come out. Kendall, you can come out.

Adam: Kendall Slater is guilty. She came over here to kill me and killed Stuart by mistake. Is that so hard to believe?

J.R.: Annie was here with a gun that night, too.

Adam: And so were you.

J.R.: Yes, but I've never shot anyone dead.

Adam: But Annie has, so she must have done it again. Yes, we are doomed to repeat our mistakes.

J.R.: It's very possible.

Adam: Yeah, even probable that you'll end up back in the bottle or David Hayward will have your son.

J.R.: Never.

Adam: You believe you've changed, that you have opened up a whole new path for yourself, and you want everyone to know that. Well, that's exactly what Annie wants. She's a good person.

J.R.: I just want proof.

Adam: I am the proof. This woman is the reason I'm alive.

J.R.: Look, I just came here because little Adam forgot his blue dragon game. And yet somehow that seems more real than this conversation.

Adam: Well, the blue dragons didn't put the marks on Erica's neck. But neither did Erica. We're alone now. You can talk to me. What did Erica do to set you off?

Annie: She was talking about Emma. She said I would never see Emma again unless I confessed to killing Stuart. I got upset and she wouldn't stop. I wasn't going to kill her.

Adam: No, of course not.

Annie: I'm going to get some tea. Would you like some?

Adam: No, thank you.

J.R.: You're good.

Annie: Excuse me?

J.R.: You've convinced my father that you're some kind of angel, but I know otherwise. I know that you're working him. The night of the murder, you came here to kidnap my daughter. My uncle Stuart got in the way, so you shot him.

Annie: I bumped into you that night, too. Did I put a bullet in you?

J.R.: If I had been a little more sober, you probably would have.

Annie: Do you even care that I saved your father's life that night?

J.R.: Says who, my dad? My dad who was so drugged up, he didn't know what planet he was on?

Annie: It's the truth.

J.R.: No, it's the story that you fed him because you realized he wouldn't remember anything. Except the story that you told him wasn't what really happened, is it?

Kendall: I wouldn't do that if I were you.

Erica: Zach, any word on Kendall?

Zach: Working on it.

Erica: I want to help.

Zach: All right, let's start by keeping our voices down. Come here. We can't tip off the cops.

Erica: Zach, she's out there somewhere, and she's alone, and she's really scared.

Zach: I know, of course she is. I'm going to find her and make sure she's in that courtroom.

Erica: How are you going to do that? I mean, we all know that Kendall is innocent. How in the world are you going to convince her to go on trial for her life?

Adam: I don't need this button to summon security. My lungs are quite adequate. I assume you're here to finish the job.

Kendall: I'm here because I need your help.

Adam: You want me to help the woman who murdered my brother.

Kendall: Adam, for the tenth time, I did not kill Stuart. Annie did. So why are you still defending her?

Adam: Because she has done nothing wrong.

Kendall: Are you sure about that?

Adam: Yes, quite sure.

Kendall: See, I don't believe that. You are way too smart to believe anything just because Annie says it's true.

Adam: And you expect me to believe you.

Kendall: If not me, then my mother. She's been there for you, Adam. She's been your friend. She's been there for your family. And right now she needs your help. She needs you to know that her daughter is not a killer. Are you honestly going to side with Annie, a total stranger, over the best friend you have?

Adam: I, uh -- Annie lives under my roof now and we see each other quite often. And I've been observing her very closely.

Kendall: I'll bet you have.

Adam: I'm as certain of her innocence as I am of your guilt. What could possibly change my mind now?

Kendall: I have a way.

[Randi exhales]

Randi: Hello? Henry? Henry? Henry.

Randi: Henry, wake up.

Randi: Oh, my God. Oh, my God.

Jesse: Randi. What happened? What did you do?

Angie: You all right?

Frankie: I'm worried.

Angie: Well, I'm not. You're getting better every day.

Frankie: It's Randi.

Angie: Randi can handle a business trip.

Frankie: No, something's wrong. She just called me and she sounded scared.

Jesse: Please tell me you found him like this. Randi!

Randi: I knew him. Henry North was a -- was an ex-client that -- that somehow became more than a client. Somehow he showed up in Pine Valley and he just kept on talking about how much he loved me and how we needed to be back together, and it was like he was obsessed and I --

Jesse: All right, slow down. Take your time. Slow down.

Randi: I just wanted him -- I just wanted him to forget about me.

Jesse: And what happened?

Randi: He started touching me. And -- and then he pushed himself on me and he wouldn't let go, and then I grabbed the bookend. I think I'm going to be sick.

Jesse: Ok, try -- try to steady yourself. Try to calm down, ok?

Randi: He's dead, isn't he? I killed him.

Jesse: Why didn't you come to me? Why wouldn't you let me help you with something like this?

Randi: Henry was never a violent man. I don't know. I thought that I could talk to him, that I could -- that I -- I don't know, put some sense into his head so that he would back off you and back off Kendall, but I don't know. Henry changed. What am I going to do? What am I going to tell Frankie?

Jesse: Come here, come here, come here.

Madison: Champagne, please.

Bartender: Sure.

Zach: Hey. You're in a better mood.

Madison: I took your advice. I showed my husband that I do have power.

Annie: Adam, are you all right?

J.R.: Stay away from him. You don't look so good.

Adam: No, I'm fine, I'm fine. I've been thinking. And it's as if a cloud just suddenly lifted from my head. Everything's clear.

J.R.: What do you mean when you say everything?

Adam: The night my brother was shot, it's coming back to me.

J.R.: So you know who shot him?

Adam: Yes, I think so.

Annie: You can't. You can't remember that.

Adam: But I do. I remember the room, I remember my brother's body, and the gun.

Annie: Adam, maybe you should lie down.

Adam: No, no, not a chance. Not when I'm finally getting to the truth.
