Ryan: And what if J.R. Is right, Tad? What if Dixie's killer is still out there running around Pine Valley, free?

Tad: Poor Babe. She was such a sweetheart. I mean, she had her moments like everybody, but who on earth would want to kill her?

Ryan: Besides old man Cambias? I didn't know her very well, but if you want to find out who her enemies were, I would talk to someone who did.

Krystal: Hey, Opal. I just came by to see Jenny.

Opal: Oh, little pumpkin's asleep. Hope her dreams are better than mine.

Krystal: Why? What's wrong?

Opal: I've been having visions again. First Annie Lavery, and then --

Krystal: What?

Opal: My Tad. There was blood all over his head.

Krystal: Ok -- all right. Just remember, they're just visions.

Opal: There is no "just" about this. After what happened to Babe, you ought to know that better than anybody.

David: Marissa, what a nice surprise.

Marissa: Hey. I was hoping to talk to Krystal. Is she home?

David: Well, actually, she stepped out for a bit, but you're welcome to come in and wait.

Marissa: Oh, really -- I don't want to impose.

David: No, no, no -- don't be ridiculous. I'd love the company, and it would give us a chance to get to know each other better. Come.

Erica: Telling your children about your illness is the very worst thing you could possibly do.

Adam: Am I missing something? You're the one who insisted that I tell my family.

Erica: Well, I was wrong.

Adam: You -- did anybody get that, hmm?

Erica: I'm serious, Adam. Think what it could do to them. You, yourself -- you said that Colby's in a very precarious place right now, and J.R., it seems to me, is always just hanging on by a thread. So this still-undiagnosed illness of yours -- this could just push them right over the edge. We cannot overestimate what our children can handle.

Adam: How am I supposed to -- I -- I can't do this alone.

Erica: You don't have to.

Kendall: What are you doing here?

Zach: Just getting some fresh air. What about you?

Kendall: Same as you, I guess. I talked to Bianca. It turns out her plan didn't work.

Zach: Yeah, I know. I saw Reese at the casino.

Kendall: Of course, you did.

Miranda: Reese!

Reese: Oh, Miranda, hi!

Miranda: I missed you.

Reese: Oh, I missed you, too.

Opal: Oh, Tad! Oh, Tad, thank the Lord you're all right.

Tad: Of course, I'm all right.

Opal: Look at you here.

Tad: What are you looking for?

Opal: I had a vision, Tad, another vision, and it was you this time. And your head was covered with blood.

Tad: It's ok. It's ok. I'm fine. I promise you, I'm ok.

Opal: Well, for now, but what if that --

Tad: No, don't. Don't, ok? Just don't do that. Don't give me any more "what if's." I can't handle any more "what if's."

Opal: Tad, what's eating you?

Tad: Alexander Cambias. He showed up again -- claims he didn't kill Dixie. The son of a bitch went so far as to send Ryan a copy of his life's story, in which he's very specific about the fact that one of the Satin Slayer's victims was not his.

Opal: And that victim would be Dixie.

Tad: Which means that somebody murdered Dixie and got away with it.

Opal: She isn't even the one they were trying to murder. That poison was meant for Babe. So if it's not Cambias, that means that --

Tad: That means that somebody else wanted to murder Babe.

Krystal: What did you say?

Marissa: This place is amazing. I love that it has a name, too. Wildwind -- it's very romantic.

David: Well, it can be. It can also feel pretty empty.

Marissa: Yeah, it's just the two of you, right?

David: I was hoping to get custody of my grandson, but that didn't work out.

Marissa: How old is he?

David: Krystal didn't tell you about Little Adam?

Marissa: Oh -- oh, ok. So you mean your step-grandson. Sorry.

David: No. No, no, he's my actual grandson. I'm Babe's father, or was.

Marissa: I had no idea.

David: Well, it's a crazy story. Krystal and I, we recently found our way back to each other.

Marissa: When Babe died.

David: Yeah.

Marissa: So -- wow, wow. Krystal told me that she married an old flame, but she left out the part that he was Babe's father.

David: Well, as I said, it's complicated.

Marissa: It's epic. You two must really love each other.

David: Krystal means everything to me. Heaven knows, we've been tested much more than I care to remember.

Marissa: But you made it through. That's what counts.

David: I'd like to think so, yes. And what about you?

Marissa: Oh, not much to tell, I guess. No, I don't have a story like you and Krystal.

David: Oh, come on. Everyone has a story. You just have to be willing to share it.

Erica: I'm here as a friend, a friend who has realized that she spent far too much time focused on her children, on their lives, instead of being focused on what she should be focused on -- her own life. My own life.

Adam: Translated, I thought that meant Fusion and New Beginnings.

Erica: Well, it does, but you're part of my life.

Adam: Oh, since when?

Erica: Since now. Look, I'm offering to help you. Do you want it or not?

Adam: Very much.

Erica: Ok. Well, then you said that you hadn't had the chance to tell them about your illness?

Adam: Yeah. They're all right in there.

Erica: Well, then they must know that they have been assembled for a reason. So we're going to have to come up with a cover.

Adam: Already done.

Reese: You just have to stay here a little while longer. It's all this boring adult work stuff, you know? But I promise you I'll come visit. Would you like that?

Miranda: Yes. Mommy would too. She's been sad a lot.

Reese: Mommy has been? How do you know that?

Miranda: She's been crying when she thinks I haven't been looking. Maybe she'll be happy if you come visit.

Reese: You miss us being together, huh? Laughing and all of our smiles?

Miranda: I miss how it used to be.

Kendall: I just can't believe that they couldn't find a way to make things work.

Zach: There's a lot of that going around.

Kendall: But they love each other. I mean, isn't that enough?

Zach: It wasn't enough for us.

Kendall: And that's my fault?

Zach: I didn't say it was your fault.

Kendall: You didn't have to, Zach. It was in your tone.

Zach: What tone is that?

Kendall: Like I'm the one who gave up or something. I mean, the way that you said it.

Zach: We both gave up.

Kendall: Just don't forget who filed for the divorce.

Zach: And why you wouldn't sign those papers if you thought we still had a chance, and you wouldn't have chosen Ryan.

Kendall: Can we please not bring Ryan into this?

Zach: Well, he's in. Perfect timing.

Ryan: I apologize if I'm interrupting anything here.

Zach: It's a public place.

Ryan: Yeah. Well, Kendall called me and asked me to meet her here, so --

Kendall: I -- I just have to discuss a few things with Ryan.

Zach: I don't have to be here.

Ryan: Actually, I'm glad you are here, Zach.

Zach: Why is that?

Ryan: I saw your father today.

Zach: You did what?

Kendall: Are you serious?

Ryan: I went to the asylum, and we spoke.

Zach: You spoke about what? You taking over Cambias? Did he pat you on the back or something?

Ryan: He sent me something. A manuscript -- his autobiography.

Zach: Oh, my dad wrote a book?

Ryan: Mostly about the Satin Slayer killings, but yeah, he wrote a book.

Kendall: That sick freak. Why?

Ryan: To stir things up. I don't know why, but he claims that he didn't kill Dixie Martin.

Kendall: Well, that's crazy. He admitted it.

Ryan: He says that he admitted it, because it would give him more clout.

Kendall: Ok. So Dixie's murder was a copycat thing?

Ryan: I don't know.

Zach: Of course, you don't know. No one knows. You shouldn't have gone there.

Ryan: Don't do anything stupid, Zach.

Zach: Stupid like what? Like doing exactly what he wants you to do, that? This has nothing to do with you. My family, my flesh and blood.

Ryan: He killed my sister, Zach. It has everything to do with me.

Bianca: Hey, Miranda, why don't you run upstairs and see if Rachael needs any help with your little sister, ok?

Reese: Oh, it's ok. It's ok. I will be here when it's time to say goodbye, ok? Come on. Go play. Go play, have a good time. I'll come get you.

Reese: So, when do you leave to go to the airport?

Bianca: An hour or so.

Reese: Thank you for letting me see them.

Bianca: Miranda talks about you all the time.

Reese: She told me that you've been crying. She hears you. I'm so sorry. I am so, so sorry about so much.

Bianca: I am, too. Like that letter I wrote you after your accident -- "get well and goodbye"?

Reese: It's ok. You know, you were just -- you were being honest.

Bianca: No, I was being cruel.

Reese: It's ok.

Bianca: Um, God, I guess I should go see if Rachael needs any help with the kids.

Reese: Bianca, can you just wait one second? I know we're not going to be together, but I would really like to come to Paris to see the girls soon.

Bianca: Yeah, they would like that.

Reese: Good, because, you know, I actually already told Miranda that I'd come for a visit, and you know how she is with promises, right?

Bianca: Yeah. You don't follow through, watch out.

Reese: Exactly.

Bianca: Reese, I --

Krystal: Oh, my God. Do you believe him?

Tad: It's -- I don't know what to believe.

Krystal: Are you all right?

Tad: Well, I'm not going to lie to you. I've felt better.

Krystal: I know what you must be feeling right now.

Tad: Yeah, well, I loved her.

Krystal: Yeah, and now not knowing what happened --

Tad: Isn't an option. I'm going to find who killed Dixie. I don't care if it was Cambias or somebody else, but I'll find out who it is.

Krystal: Someone else? Who? You would have to be crazy to want to kill Babe.

Opal: Yeah, and they don't come any crazier than Alexander Cambias.

Tad: Krystal, honey, I need your help. This is really important. When you were living in the mansion, did everybody get along with Babe?

Krystal: Yeah, yeah. Except Adam.

Colby: This Cambias guy is a total freak, right? He's just messing with everyone's heads.

Adam: Not another word on that subject. Slater's demented father killed Dixie Martin, end of story.

J.R.: And if not, my mother's murderer is still out there.

Adam: And your mother would still be dead. You need to concentrate on the here and the now, the things that you can control.

J.R.: Let me guess -- like Chandler Enterprises?

Adam: That would be an excellent place to start.

Scott: Well, maybe you should tell us your big announcement now.

Adam: Oh, a man who cuts to the chase. I like that.

J.R.: Will you just spit it out already?

Adam: Yeah. I plan to retire at the end of this year.

Colby: What? You?

Adam: Mm-hmm. So you two have a lot of work ahead of you.

J.R.: What the hell are you talking about?

Adam: Well, one of you has to replace me. I figure in about six months, you'll be able to prove which of you it should be. So let the games begin.

Marissa: I don't know. I'm ready to take on the world, I guess.

David: One pro bono case at a time, huh?

Marissa: Are you kidding? I want to be rich.

David: Really?

Marissa: Don't get me wrong -- you know, I'm all about helping the little guy, but right now, I have to be practical.

David: A girl's got to eat, right?

Marissa: Yeah, well, unfortunately, I'm all I've got.

David: Well, you have Krystal.

Marissa: I know.

David: Don't take advantage of her, Marissa. I'm just protecting my wife.

Marissa: From me?

David: Well, you did just admit that you're somewhat money-hungry, right?

Marissa: No, I admitted to being broke, but I guess I should be flattered. If I'm coming across that hungry and ruthless, it can only mean good things in the courtroom, right?

David: It might, but it won't work so well for you here.

Marissa: I'm not playing your wife.

David: For your sake, I hope that's true. Krystal is kind, generous, extremely forgiving. Now, if you were to cross her, she'd probably get over it. I, on the other hand, would not be so forgiving. Are we clear?

Marissa: Mm-hmm.

David: Excellent. Now, why don't you tell me why you're really here?

Marissa: Well, I was hoping to take you up on your offer. I've looked for apartments, but the market's tough.

David: You want us to take you in.

Tad: We have to consider every possibility.

Krystal: That Adam tried to kill Babe? Come on. With poison pancakes, no less. We both know that that's not Adam's style.

Opal: Yeah. She's got a point there, Tad.

Krystal: If -- and this is a huge "if" -- Adam wanted to make an attempt on anybody's life, he'd hire a hit man. Come on. He wouldn't dose Lucretia's batter in the kitchen.

Tad: It wouldn't be the first time he surprised us.

Krystal: Alexander Cambias is messing with everybody's head. It's that psycho's favorite pastime.

Tad: What if you're wrong?

Krystal: I'm not. The police put Dixie's case to rest, Tad. It's time you did, too.

J.R.: Since when has there been a question about who will take the reins?

Adam: Since I realized I have options.

J.R.: I've been working for Chandler for years. Hell, I ran the company when you couldn't.

Adam: Oh, is this the part where you storm out with Little Adam and vow never to let me see him again?

J.R.: No, this is the part where I fight for what's mine, not that it's going to be much of a competition.

Adam: Well, I'll leave you to it.

J.R.: Be straight with me. Do you really want to run this company?

Scott: Up until five minutes ago, no.

Colby: Were you even going to pretend to include me in this bizarro challenge?

Adam: No.

Colby: But I'm your daughter.

Adam: Who is still in college.

Colby: Ok, fine, but I still don't get it. Scott hasn't even done the corporate thing, and J.R. is J.R.

Adam: Uh-huh.

Colby: Oh, you're trying to provoke him -- light a fire under him?

Adam: Consider the match struck.

Ryan: You know Zach was going to be here?

Kendall: No.

Ryan: So then why did you want to see me?

Kendall: I wanted to say I'm sorry. I just -- I got sucked into the drama again, and I messed everything up for everybody. I mean, for Bianca and Reese, too.

Ryan: For Bianca and Reese?

Kendall: Yeah. My sister's in town -- long story. Anyway, I messed things up for them, and I messed things up for us. Ryan, I shouldn't have gotten so crazed about Zach. I mean, who really cares who he sleeps with, anyway?

Ryan: You do, apparently.

Kendall: No, I don't. Ryan, I don't. I really don't. It was just -- it was some sort of a reflex. I promise you. I promise it won't happen again.

Ryan: You're just saying this because you think I need to hear it.

Kendall: No -- no, it's because I need to say it.

Ryan: Ok.

Kendall: Ok?

Ryan: I don't know what you need from me, Kendall. I've had a really, really, really rotten day, ok?

Kendall: Yeah, I know.

Ryan: No, you don't know. You really don't. To look the man who killed my sister directly in the eye and not see an ounce of remorse anywhere --

Kendall: I'm sorry. I'm really sorry.

Bianca: My God, after all this time -- for Alexander to pop up again. How are you doing?

Zach: Oh, I've been better, but it's always nice to see you and the girls.

Bianca: I'm sorry I'm taking Gabrielle away again.

Zach: I'm not. With my father back in the mix, I don't want her here.

Bianca: You know, what happened with your brother -- I'm ok now.

Zach: Yeah? Well, that's because you're strong.

Bianca: It's because of Miranda, because no matter how she came into this world, I loved her so much, and she got me through it, and now Gabrielle does, too.

Zach: The kids.

Bianca: Yeah.

Zach: Sure. But you should maybe give yourself some credit.

Bianca: The kids are my life.

Zach: I know, and I know they make you happy, but you need to find your own happiness -- you know, live your own life with --

Bianca: Any advice on how can I do that?

Zach: Oh, I got nothing.

Bianca: Ok.

Zach: Come here.

Reese: Ok. So, I said goodbye to the kids, and I can't go through that again, not with you. So I'm just going to say have a safe trip, ok? And be happy, ok? Bianca Montgomery, please be happy. Ok.

Bianca: Reese. I know what would make me happy.

Reese: What would make you happy?

Bianca: You. You can make me happy. You have made me happy. I'm -- uh, I'm opening the door for us here. I can't promise how far we're going to get through it.

Reese: It's ok. There's no need for any promises.

Bianca: We've got a lot of work to do.

Reese: I know. I want to do that work.

Bianca: So let's do it together.

Reese: It works for me.

Ryan: I'm sorry, I shouldn't be taking it out on you. I -- you got your own stuff going on right now. You should go and spend some time with your sister, you know, while you still can.

Kendall: You're really missing Erin, huh?

Ryan: Yeah. I mean, I miss her all the time, but I'm really missing her today.

Kendall: You going to be ok?

Ryan: Yeah. I'm going to be ok. I am. I just need -- I just need some time to think and, um, forget. I'll see you around, ok?

Kendall: Around?

Ryan: Bye.

Zach: Come on in.

Erica: Hi.

[Zach laughs]

Erica: Is Kendall home?

Zach: Nope.

Erica: Do you know where she is?

Zach: No.

Erica: And how about Bianca?

Zach: She's, uh --

Bianca: Hey!

Erica: Hi, sweetheart. Hi, I see you're all packed and ready to go.

Bianca: Mm-hmm.

Erica: Is this all your luggage?

Bianca: Uh, actually, I picked up something else today.

Reese: Hey.

Erica: Does this mean --

Bianca: Yeah. Reese is going to come back with us to Paris.

Erica: Oh, that's wonderful.

Bianca: Really?

Erica: Yes, really. I'm so happy for both of you.

Reese: Oh, thank you.

Erica: Well, you're so welcome.

Reese: Erica, thank you. You know I love your daughter so much, and I will do whatever it takes to make her happy.

Erica: Well, you better. [Laughter]

J.R.: Chandler Enterprises is tanking. You get that, right? Why would you want to take that on?

Scott: I guess I love a challenge.

J.R.: Well, then suit up, Scotty-boy, because you got yourself one.

Scott: When are you going to grow up?

J.R.: Excuse me?

Scott: Instead of throwing a fit, why didn't you suggest that we work together?

J.R.: Why would I do that?

Scott: Gee, I don't know -- to save this family's legacy?

J.R.: My family. This is my father's company. He built it to give to his children and the children after that. And nowhere do you fit into that equation. You're not taking over Chandler Enterprises.

Scott: Watch me. And when I do, I'm going to turn it into something good. Honorable.

J.R.: This is business. We don't do honorable.

Scott: Wow. So that's what Little A has to look forward to, huh? Lucky kid.

[David and Marissa play "Chopsticks" on the piano]

Krystal: David?

David: Oh, hey.

Krystal: What's -- what's going on?

David: Uh, we were just playing around here. Um, hey, would you like a glass of wine? I was just about to open another bottle.

Krystal: Another?

David: Yeah. How long have you been here?

Marissa: A while. Your husband and I have been getting to know each other.

Krystal: Great.

David: Yeah, well, it was until we stumbled upon the deep, dark secret.

Krystal: What secret?

David: Responsible lawyer-to-be, my ass. This one here is a hopeless vagabond.

Marissa: What he's trying to say is, uh, I need a place to stay, after all.

David: Right, so I told her she was welcome to stay here with us. I mean, of course, if it's all right with you.

Krystal: Yes, of course, it's a wonderful idea. Welcome home.

Stuart: Are you saying Adam is really considering having you take over Chandler Enterprises?

Scott: Crazy, right?

Stuart: That's -- that's unbelievable.

Scott: What?

Stuart: Well, because -- is that what you really want, Scott?

Scott: Honestly, I hadn't even thought about it until today. But when Uncle Adam came at us with the competition or whatever you want to call it, it -- I don't know, it felt right.

Stuart: I've -- I've been watching Adam for years, and J.R., too. When it comes to that company, they're mean. I mean -- I mean, really mean. I don't want that to happen to you.

Scott: It won't.

Stuart: How did J.R. take the news?

Scott: Not well. Now he's angry at me and at Uncle Adam, too.

Stuart: Well, of course. I mean, he's Adam's son. He should get the company. Oh, it's my fault.

Scott: How?

Stuart: Well, I -- you shouldn't have to go to Adam to get a job. I should have saved something that -- that you could inherit.

Scott: No, Dad, stop. I have already inherited so much from you. Your desire to help people, to make a difference.

Stuart: Yeah, well that's what makes you you. But if you're going to take over for Adam, you're going to have to give all that up, aren't you?

Scott: Trust me, ok? No way am I going to change. But if I get this gig, Chandler Enterprises will.

David: Hey, baby.

Krystal: Are you sure about this?

David: I think it will be nice to have her around. You know, inject a whole new energy into the house. Unless you don't want her here.

Krystal: No, it's not -- it's not that. She's a wonderful girl, and I love that you want to help her.

David: Then what is it?

Krystal: I don't want anything to come between us.

David: Are you kidding? After everything we've been through, what could possibly come between us? Especially not Marissa. Come on, how much trouble can one lawyer-in-training be?

Tad: Alexander Cambias swears he didn't kill Dixie. And before you start off on me, just give me a second, ok? Just a minute. I know what you're going to say. That he's psychotic. He's -- he's an attention-grabbing maniac, and his hobby is making our heads spin around backwards.

Jesse: Well, you got that right.

Tad: Ok, but I'm not letting this go. Even if the possibility is slim, what if he's telling the truth?

Jesse: Which means somebody got away with Dixie's murder.

Tad: You going to help me?

Jesse: Yeah. Let's go through those files.

Zach: Oh, God, really? Come on.

Erica: I'm going to miss you so, so much. You have to promise to call me all the time, ok?

Bianca: Oh, don't worry, we will.

Erica: Ok.

Bianca: You ready?

Reese: Yeah. Is this -- is this really happening?

Bianca: Only if you want it to.

Reese: Are you kidding me? It's all I've wanted since the moment you left. Are you sure?

Bianca: I am sure. Today, I'm sure.

Erica: Well, today is all we ever really have, right?

Bianca: Right. Check in with me again tomorrow.

Reese: Ok. You, the girls, tomorrow.

Zach: If you want to make that plane, come on. You got to hurry up.

Bianca: Ok. Oh, my goodness. Are we missing anything?

Erica: Uh, just your sister. Where on earth is Kendall?

Bianca: Well, I'm afraid you're going to have say goodbye to her for us.

Erica: I will.

Reese: So, Miranda, you ready?

Miranda: Yes.

Bianca: Well, let's go home.

[Doorbell rings]

[Knock on door]

Ryan: Hey.

Kendall: Hey.

Ryan: What are you --

Kendall: Can I come in?

Ryan: It's not a great time right now.

Kendall: Ryan, I don't want to see you around. I want to see you all the time. Please, please, can I just come in?

Ryan: Kendall, it's really not a good time for a visitor, ok?

Kendall: Who says I'm a visitor?

Scott: Right now, the Chandler name represents greed, the bottom line. I want it to represent us. What we stand for.

Stuart: Can -- can you really do that?

Scott: And I will. Not just for me, but for you, too.

J.R.: You feel bad for Stuart so you're throwing his kid a bone. You're giving Scott a chance at the big prize. Well, too bad I'm going to wipe the floor with him. You can say goodbye to your company, Dad, because after it's all mine, no one at Chandler will even remember your name.

Tad: Jesse, I know you think it's nuts, but the fact is, there is nothing here that's definitive that ties Dixie's death to the Satin Slayer.

Jesse: So the ribbon, the flowers, the fact that Cambias confessed --

Tad: He puts a notch on his belt. Big deal. That's what they do. That's what a serial killer will do. Look at the title of his book, for God's sake. But the fact is, man, anybody -- anybody could have gotten their hands on that stuff. Admit it.

Jesse: Hmm --

Tad: It's possible. Somebody in Chandler Mansion killed Dixie and made it look like the work of the Satin Slayer.

Jesse: Yeah, it doesn't have to be somebody in the house itself, right? I mean, with all that tunnel access --

Tad: You're with me on this, aren't you?

Jesse: It's possible.

[Tad laughs]

Jesse: So what do you want me to do now? Get my people on this?

Tad: No, uh-huh. No, I'm going to find out who killed Dixie. I'm going to find him, and I'm going to kill him.

Erica: Wow, I really hope that Bianca's doing the right thing.

Zach: She is. Reese won't hurt her again. I think it took all this to realize how much she loves your daughter.

Erica: Speaking of daughters, aren't you worried about Kendall? I mean, she's still not answering her phone. What if she's in trouble?

Zach: She's not.

Erica: Oh. Because she's with Ryan?

Zach: I'm going to check on the boys.

Kendall: No more visiting, Ryan. Let's do this. Be with me.

Ryan: Until when? Until your ex-husband fools around with somebody else, and you get jealous again?

Kendall: No, no. There will be no more jealousy.

Ryan: You don't know that.

Kendall: Yes, I do. I don't care about Zach. I don't care what he does or who he sees. I care about you. I love you. No one else.

Ryan: And what if I don't believe you?

Kendall: Then believe this.

[Kendall passionately kisses Ryan]
