Adam: Erica, whatever is happening to me, it's getting much worse.

Erica: Adam, you are strong and you are smart. And you can beat this thing with help.

Adam: You know how much I count on you.

Erica: Yes, I do, but don't count on me too much. I mean, I am as far away from a nurse as a person can be.

Adam: I don't need a nurse.

Erica: Adam, I don't know what you need, and neither do you.

Adam: Just a little extra support for now.

Erica: Maybe a great deal of support. I'm sorry, Adam. I just -- I cannot keep doing this.

Tad: So if the Satin Slayer didn't kill Dixie, who did?

Ryan: Only one way to find out.

Tad: Oh, come on. Don't tell me you're going to go to the source.

Ryan: Where else would I go?

Tad: You're going to spend time with a serial killer whose only goal in life is to make the rest of us insane?

Adam: I've been leaning on you too heavily. I'm sorry.

Erica: Well, I just can't single-handedly keep you afloat.

Adam: Well, unfortunately, you're the only one I can trust.

Erica: But you have a son.

Adam: Well, who runs hot and cold and disintegrates under pressure.

Erica: You have a loving daughter.

Adam: She's still a little girl.

Erica: A savvy nephew.

Adam: Well, Scott -- I don't know Scott. He's been away too long.

Erica: And then there's always Stuart.

Adam: The kindest brother a man could ever possibly have, but  he's no strategist. You well know that.

Erica: Everything isn't about strategy, Adam. If you pull together as a family, I know you can beat this.

Adam: It's stress. I can feel it. It's toxic stress closing in.

Erica: Seizures and memory lapses are a sign that there is something seriously wrong, and I'm sure the strain of keeping them secret is making your symptoms seem even worse.

Adam: I could just use a little more time.

Erica: Adam, I have a company to run and a TV show to produce and both my daughters have lost their bearings. And then there's that fabulous thing that I used to call my life.

Tad: Your life isn't hectic enough, you want to invite Hannibal Lecter back here?

Ryan: No, I want the truth, Tad. And I don't understand something, I don't get it. Dixie was the love of your life. Don't you want to be 100% sure that her killer is locked up?

Tad: I am 100% sure.

Ryan: Read the manuscript.

Tad: No, I'm sorry. I got the highlights. I'll pass.

Ryan: It's clear, it's logical, it's detailed. It's not the ravings of a lunatic.

Tad: It doesn't matter that he wrote a book. Who cares? He's in a psychiatric institution. If he were sane, he'd be standing trial right now.

Ryan: I'll push for that as hard as I can, but excuse me for not having faith in psychiatrists that are working for the system.

Tad: Not one word -- one word -- to J.R. about this, do you understand?

Ryan: Why?

Tad: Because he lost it when Dixie died. After Babe, I didn't think I was going to get him back. He doesn't deserve another shot to the heart. This Cambias nonsense. Finish the job once and for all.

J.R.: I'll tell you what, why don't you take your little film degree and go to Hollywood where you wish you belonged.

Scott: What's your degree in again?  Oh, that's right, you never got one.

J.R.: Neither did Bill Gates, but he's been wrapped up in a little bit of business. What a coincidence, so have I.

Scott: Yeah, you and Bill Gates, like --

Adam: You're sure that's the family you want me to depend on?

Erica: I want you to hit them with the facts and force them into lying.

Adam: Oh, have you got a stun gun on you?

Erica: Adam, when the going gets tough, the tough unite.

Adam: You say that as if it has some meaning.

Erica: Well, you better hope it has some meaning because, let's face it, your family is basically all you've got.

J.R.: Or starving babies, or something --

Reese: You look so -- you always look so beautiful. You know, sometimes I lie in bed and I picture your face, your incredible eyes, and I -- I had hoped that you'd come. I was scared you wouldn't. I'm still scared.

Bianca: Leslie and Brett got married in New York, so that's why I'm here.

Reese: You -- you used to love these. They were your favorites, right?

Bianca: They still are.

Bianca: You're wearing our rings?

Reese: Yeah, I wanted you with me.

Reese: Do you remember the painting?

Bianca: Mm-hmm, "Girl with Lilies."

Reese: Yeah, you remember that day at the Louvre?

Bianca: A lifetime ago.

Reese: Oh, no. You are still the same.

Bianca: Maybe on the outside, but inside...

Reese: Bianca, it's been too long. I have missed you so much.

Zach: So what made you decide to go with this, to bring Bianca to Reese?

Kendall: Same as you, I guess.

Zach: Um, we want different things.

Kendall: What do you want?

Zach: I want these two women to raise their kids.

Kendall: Me, too.

Zach: Yeah?

Kendall: Mm-hmm.

Zach: I find that hard to believe.

Kendall: Why?

Zach: Well, Ian, Spike, Miranda, and Gaby around the Christmas tree -- you'd be ok with that?

Kendall: I could get used to it. You don't think so?

Zach: Uh-uh. You don't share well with others.

Reese: I hurt you, and I can't take back the hurt. But I'm different, Bianca. I have changed. You know, when I couldn't see anything around me, I had to take a look, a very honest look, inside of myself, and I saw things that I didn't like. It was stuff that I should have dealt with a long time ago, long before I ever found you.

Bianca: Like what?

Reese: Like my constant need for a gold star. You know, top of class, A-student, perfect daughter.

Bianca: What does that have to do with us?

Reese: Look, I stayed in Pine Valley to prove myself to your family and your friends and -- I don't know. I thought that somehow, if I could win them over, then I'd be able to win you back.

Bianca: I don't care what anybody else thinks.

Reese: I know. God, I know, and it's what I admire about you so much, which is why my plan was so absurd. You know, I know that no one else can convince you to give me another chance. I'm the only one who can do it.

Reese: So I'm asking you if -- if you think you could open your heart and love me again?

Bianca: Love was never our issue. I trusted you, and you betrayed my trust.

Reese: I know. I know -- I reverted back to that A-student, the perfect little girl that I had to be when I was young.

Bianca: I'm sorry, I'm having a really hard time following this.

Reese: Look, I was top of class, most popular, and heterosexual. It was a role that I played, Bianca, and I played it very well because it made me feel safe. It made me feel accepted, and nobody did a double-take when I kissed a boy in the park.

Bianca: Then we met. We fell in love. We decided to get married. And then you try to be straight?

Reese: Look, I didn't even realize that I was scared of being a lesbian. You know, all of a sudden it meant no more faking it. No more blending in. No more playing it safe.

Bianca: Maybe that's what you want.

Reese: No, it is not what I want. I love you. And I want you and our girls.

Bianca: And what about Zach?

Reese: You know, Zach was -- he was there. He was there and he was warm and he was kind, and he seemed safe. I don't know. Who better to role play with? It was a stupid, stupid reflex.

Bianca: This is just a lot to absorb.

Reese: I know that. Ok, I'm not asking you to absorb it all at once. But just open the door, just a little bit. Let me be just a part of your life, and then if you're ok with it, maybe then you can open the door a little bit more. I love you. Bianca, I love you, and I will never -- I will never, ever love anyone like I love you. Look, this has all been sinking in for me over time, and I am sure that I can be what you want.

Bianca: What I want, what my family wants, what your parents  want -- it never ends. It's like you're constantly trying to be what everybody else wants you to be.

Reese: Ok, ok, wrong choice of words. I am what you need. I am what you want, and I am just asking you to please give me a chance to make you believe that again.

Bianca: Part of me wants to open my arms and pull you back into my life again, but I got to tell you, there's alarm bells going off. Like, "Danger, keep away, do not let her in."

Kendall: I love my sister, and I want her to be happy.

Zach: I hope you do.

Kendall: But you still doubt me. Why?

Zach: You were threatened by a little girl. It's tough to forget.

Kendall: Well, Gabrielle was a shock to me. I thought I should come first with you.

Zach: You always came first with me.

Kendall: Well, I didn't feel like a priority when I found out you fathered my sister's child.

Zach: I've tried to explain that to you. I don't know. What else do you want me to do?

Kendall: I don't know, Zach. I really don't know.

Reese: Look, I know that you're scared. I know you're scared. I broke your heart. It's why I'm suggesting that we take this little by little. Ok, a baby step at a time.

Bianca: I'm a grownup. If you hurt me again, I could get over it. I could pick myself up and move on again. I'm not saying that it would be easy, but I wouldn't be scarred for life. I can't say the same thing about Miranda and Gabrielle.

Reese: I would never turn my back on our girls.

Bianca: See, you never have been through a divorce. My parents never stopped loving me, but I was still completely destroyed when they broke up.

Reese: My parents turned their back on me when they found out that I loved you, a woman. I wasn't allowed to be a lesbian and also their daughter. You know I understand that pain.

Bianca: I loved you with everything that I am. Why wasn't my love enough?

Kendall: I was awful to Bianca and Reese. I just want to make up for that now.

Zach: When did you see the light, 10 minutes ago?

Kendall: Ok, I held out too long. Is that the problem?

Zach: It's part of the problem.

Kendall: What else?

Zach: I don't have all the answers.

Kendall: Well, I don't have any answers anymore.

Erica: Go out there and take control.

Scott: Because your dad handed you a company --

Erica: They're out there squabbling like children. Go out there and show them how a man behaves.

Adam: Well, right now I don't have the energy. It's being sapped by this creeping brain rot.

J.R.: Oh, sure, because I make great ones all the time, unlike you. Do you know how to read a spreadsheet?

Scott: Yeah, I know how to read a spreadsheet. I learned it in college.

J.R.: Community college, maybe.

Erica: Stop! Ok, read my lips. The bickering stops here. Adam needs to see you.

Adam: Ahem.

Scott: What is it?

Adam: Yes, find out where Colby is. Tell her we need her here ASAP.

Erica: Ok, you've got their attention now. Don't waste it, because I'm not coming back.

Adam: Ever?

Erica: Get your house in order, and then we'll see.

Colby: What's going on, Dad?

Adam: Uh, brace yourselves.

Colby: Are you sick? Is it -- did the doctors tell you something bad?

Adam: No, no, no, no. I want you all to think "solidarity" because we've never needed it more.

Scott: You make it sound like an army of terrorists is sliding down the chimney.

J.R.: Or an army of creditors. Is it worse than we thought?

Adam: No, it's not -- it could be. It could be if we don't pull together on this.

J.R.: Are we losing the house again?

Adam: No, no, but that could also happen if you three don't step up.

Colby: Dad, what's wrong?

[Doorbell rings]

Adam: "What's wrong"? The problem is --

Maid: I'm so sorry, Mr. Chandler. Someone's here to see you, and he says it's important.

Adam: Well, can't you -- well, show him to the study. I know you're new here, but can't you see we're in the middle of something?

Maid: He insists it can't wait.

Adam: For God's sake. Don't move. What do you want?

Tad: Hopefully to avoid something that could tear your family apart.

Alexander: Ryan, a pleasure to see you, though obviously not a surprise. You're looking well.

Ryan: And you look like a cadaver.

Alexander: My sunbathing is restricted these days.

Ryan: I thought you were paralyzed.

Alexander: I am, but I prefer sitting up, so my staff graciously obliges me.

Ryan: Your staff also provide you with the voice-recognition software so you can send out your messages?

Alexander: Marvelous invention, don't you think?

Ryan: I think that the public would be horrified to know that their money goes to technological advances for you.

Alexander: Psychiatrists adore me. I'm on the cover of journals everywhere, obviously. Apparently it is very rare for a serial killer to head up a  corporation as well.

Ryan: And everybody loves a good thriller, right? Like the novel that you sent to me.

Alexander: I do not write fiction. Every word in my memoir is true.

Ryan: Come on. Some writers embellish a little bit, right? I mean, even Oprah was taken in. Do you remember that? You slap a "true story" label on it, and the public just eats it up.

Alexander: Well, you and I -- no better. You read the section on your sister, of course. Lovely girl, your Erin. Probably even lovelier in death. Her ghostly pallor in the moonlight, shimmering in her beautiful hair. I sent you my memoir because you're such a stickler for the truth.

Ryan: I've know the truth about you for years, Alex.

Alexander: The reason you're here is because there is a discrepancy between the public record and mine.

Ryan: You're bored. Playing some mind games.

Alexander: I do enjoy mind games, but fact is usually more complex than fiction. And, Ryan, the simple fact is I did not kill Dixie Martin.

Erica: When were you going to tell me that Bianca and the girls were back in town?

Kendall: I planned on telling you, Mom.

Erica: Before or after they'd left?

Reese: Oh, it was not about your love not being enough. It was about me not knowing how to love myself enough to accept myself.

Bianca: And this problem that you had accepting yourself, you never shared it with me. Not while we planned our wedding, our future, our children's lives.

Reese: Because I didn't even know it. I didn't even admit it to myself.

Bianca: Not even when your mother showed up. You just kept it all bottled up inside until finally, one day, it exploded in our faces.

Reese: I did everything wrong. Ok, absolutely everything wrong, and I admit this to you.

Bianca: How do you know you're going to be different now?

Reese: Because I've finally figured out what's going on with my parents. I understand those issues. It has been an enormous breakthrough for me.

Bianca: And I'm just supposed to take that on faith?

Reese: Not all at once.

Bianca: All at once, bit by bit -- I mean, the goal is still the same. Me taking you back. How do I know that you're not going to find some nice, acceptable man someday and try to be straight again?

Reese: Because I am not going back to men, Bianca, even if you push me away. There are no more men for me.

Bianca: I can see that you believe that. You believe it now, but what about tomorrow and the day after that and the day after that?

Reese: I'm not perfect. I'm not. I am very flawed. But I know who I am now. God, and I know that I love you, and I will never be whole without you again.

Erica: Well, now I understand why you did such a quick about-face when I practically packed Reese's bags for her.

Kendall: I admit I wanted her gone before she knew Bianca was in town.

Erica: And Zach finally got them back together?

Kendall: Zach didn't do it alone. I took Bianca to the park.

Erica: And who held the gun to your head?

Kendall: Mom, I'm just -- I'm sad and confused and bitter and angry, and I hate feeling like this, but I do. And misery loves company, so I wanted Reese to be miserable, too.

Erica: Well, I understand, but it wasn't just Reese. It was Bianca.

Kendall: No, no, not Bianca. Not anymore. I was furious with her for a very long time, but then after talking to her and looking into those big dark eyes, I had to tell her the truth. Reese really, truly loves Bianca. I didn't believe that before, but I do now.

Erica: Why? Why now? What convinced you to believe it now?

Kendall: I guess Zach had something to do with it.

[Door opens]

Erica: And --

Kendall: Well? How'd it go?

Zach: Looks like you could use a drink.

Reese: Can you make it three?

Zach: What would you like?

Reese: You don't serve morphine here, do you?

Zach: We'll have a double vodka martini on the rocks, please, very dry.

Reese: Thanks for trying. You -- you did everything you could, and I just want to thank you for being a really good friend.

Zach: What happened?

Reese: I just don't know if Bianca will ever trust me again. And once you've lost that trust, there's really no going back.

Zach: No, there isn't.

Kendall: Well, it sounds like Reese said all the right things.

Bianca: I honestly think she believes them.

Erica: Well, why would she lie at this late date?

Bianca: The point is she lied before.

Erica: No, not so much lied as omitted.

Kendall: What's the difference?

Erica: With a lie, you have intent to deceive. And I'm sure that Reese just thought it was a phase she was going through, and it would pass, and she was right.

Bianca: She was right? She kissed my brother-in-law.

Erica: Well, no, no, no, I mean, that wasn't right. But, I mean, everyone makes mistakes. And Reese definitely, definitely, genuinely seems to regret it now.

Kendall: Ok, there's mistakes and then there's sucking your brother-in-law's face.

Erica: Well, if you are waiting for the perfect person, the perfect person doesn't exist.

Bianca: Is it wrong to expect a little fidelity?

Erica: No, no. It's just that no one is flawless, not even my two wonderful, beautiful, vibrant daughters. And there comes a time to forgive and forget.

Bianca: Forgive and forget?

Erica: Look, you have to decide whether you want to be right and alone, or forgive a little and, at the end of the day, be with the person you love.

Bianca: Who are you and what have you done with my mother?

Ryan: My guess is that the curious reporters just stopped coming, you were running out of things to say and you were bored, lonely, and desperate to get some attention. So you dictate this book and you make it a mystery.

Alexander: Believe what you choose.

Ryan: I will. Thank you.

Alexander: One would think you could use the distraction. Grief is a terrible thing. Tragic, your fiancée's fatal accident. And Babe Chandler's death -- odd, don't you think?

Ryan: Thank you for your heartfelt condolences, Alex. As far as Babe's death -- not so odd. Really, the tornadoes, unfortunately, took dozens of lives.

Alexander: Here I am, utterly helpless, but the Fusion curse is still in effect. Greenlee Smythe, Babe Chandler. Barely any Fusion women left. Even your poor ex-wife, Annie. She was supposed to be transferred here. I was so looking forward to meeting her. Such an embarrassment, she got away.

Ryan: Really glad I came to see you. I got to go.

Alexander: On whom will they blame the next corpse, do you think?

Ryan: Something for you to obsess about in all your free time.

Alexander: I've already given this a lot of thought. Dixie Martin's real killer will strike again.

Tad: Cambias insists he didn't murder Dixie, that it was a copycat crime.

Adam: What do I care what that maniac claims? Why are you wasting time with this?

Tad: How do we know he's not going to send J.R. a copy of that damn book?

J.R.: He's treating us like we're 5-year-olds, keeping us in timeout.

Scott: Adam was surprised when the maid interrupted. He wasn't expecting anyone.

Colby: Wonder what the big emergency is.

Adam: You're right about that, for a change. Cambias' lies could knock J.R. off his pins. So we have to be very careful we don't let J.R. find out about it.

[Door opens]

J.R.: Find out about what?

Adam: There's nothing to worry about.

J.R.: I'll be the judge of that.

Adam: A few details about your mother's estate.

J.R.: What details? What details?

Adam: I'll fill you in when I've had a chance to speak --

J.R.: No, you fill me in now.

Tad: For God's sake, Adam, don't. Look, J.R., the fact is Alexander Cambias has written this ridiculous book in which he brags about all his serial killings.

J.R.: He can do that?

Tad: Apparently, as long as he doesn't reap the profits.

J.R.: This is what you didn't want me to know?

Tad: Well, it's just that he goes into detail about all of the individual murders.

J.R.: Well, I'm not going to rush out and buy the book, if that's what you're worried about.

Tad: Every murder except Dixie's. You see, all of a sudden now he says that he didn't do it.

Adam: That's nonsense, of course.

Tad: You know, he's obviously making a ploy for more press. That's it.

J.R.: Wait, my mother died because she ate my wife's breakfast. If Cambias didn't poison Babe's food, then who did?

Tad: That's just it. I mean, it doesn't make sense. Nobody would.

J.R.: Well, nobody that you know of, you mean.

Adam: Nobody but Cambias, who's lying.

J.R.: What if he isn't lying? Who would poison my wife?

Ryan: You confessed to Dixie's murder.

Alexander: I would have confessed to anything they slid under my nose. I was headed for prison. Why split hairs over one extra crime? Besides, all the more credit for me.

Ryan: You're lying.

Alexander: You're going to feel terribly guilty when my revelation turns out to be true, Ryan. A murderer is still loose in Pine Valley, and Ryan Lavery is doing nothing to track him down. The next fresh corpse in your little hamlet will be on your head, not mine.

Reese: You know, I -- I took my heart out, and I handed it to Bianca. It did nothing. Nothing helped.

Zach: What do you say we go see the kids? They're at the house. I'll go with you.

Reese: No, are you kidding me? We show up there together that will just put everyone's nerves on red alert. I'm not going to do that. The kids are going to pick up on a vibe. They're going to know something's wrong. And they're going to look to us and all the grownups are going to, what, have a plastered smile on their face? They're going to act all cheerful? Meanwhile, the kids will be like, "What the heck's going on with the grownups?" Or worse, "What's going on with me?"

Zach: It sounds like you've been through this before.

Reese: I think it's called reckless parenting.

Zach: When did you get so wise?

Reese: I don't know. Not soon enough to change Bianca's mind.

Bianca: Oh, come on, Mom. We wouldn't have left without seeing you. When have we ever done that?

Erica: Ok. I probably overreacted.

Kendall: Oh, you? Never, never, never.

Bianca: No, it's inconceivable.

Erica: Oh, fine, have some fun at my expense.

Bianca: I'm sorry, Mom. We just have to laugh at something.

Kendall: Yeah, I mean, aside from you and the kids and the fact that it's spring out, everything's been sort of dismal and depressing.

Bianca: How are you? Are you and Adam still spending time together?

Erica: Well, I see Adam from time to time. I mean, we're working on some business projects.

Kendall: Time to time? I think it's more than that.

Bianca: She's lowballing?

Erica: Why would I do that?

Kendall: Good question.

Bianca: I don't know. Are you trying to convince yourself, maybe, that you and Adam aren't having a romance?

Erica: We are not.

Bianca: Mm-hmm.

Kendall: Whatever you say.

Erica: Look, I couldn't begin to describe my relationship with Adam if I tried.

Bianca: And if you did try, we probably wouldn't understand.

Kendall: I mean, it's hard to understand them even when you're in them.

Bianca: Yeah.

Kendall: Relationships, I mean.

Bianca: Yes. God, love -- it is life's biggest mystery. It's even harder to understand when you're in it than when you're not.

Kendall: You're wise. You're wise, Bianca.

Bianca: Thank you.

[Reese reminisces]

Minister: "Reese, I give you this ring."

Bianca: Reese, I give you this ring.

Minister: "And with it, all that I have, all that I am."

Bianca: And with it, all that I have, all that I am.

Minister: The candles you hold represent your lives before tonight. As they join in marriage, there is a merging of the two lights into one.

Singer: Wasn't planning on this trip, but here I am

[Reese's cell phone rings and she sees it's Bianca]

Singer: And how I'll get to where I'm going I still hardly understand but I'm leavin', believin' it's gonna be ok so now I'm goin' I know I'm on my way

Erica: Did you tell them? Did you tell your kids about your lapses?

Adam: No, I tried to. I tried to, but everybody kept --

Erica: Good, good, good. Don't. Don't tell your children about your illness. Telling your children about your illness is the worst thing you could possibly do.

Tad: Poor J.R. His face nearly hit the floor when he heard about this Cambias thing.

Ryan: Better he hear it from you than the media.

Tad: Better not to hear about it at all.

Ryan: We can't control the news, Tad. Who knows where else Cambias sent the manuscript?

Tad: At this point, it doesn't matter. As far as my stepson is concerned, there's a lunatic out there somewhere that was trying to kill his wife.

Ryan: And what if he's right? What if J.R.'s right? What if Dixie's killer is still out there, running around Pine Valley free?

Reese: Hi.

Bianca: I'm so glad you came.

Reese: I am so glad that you called. I've been wanting to see them and -- hi. I just didn't want to upset them or you, or -- oh, my gosh. Where's Miranda?

Bianca: She's just upstairs. She'll be down in a second, but this one wanted to say hi to her mom. Look, sweetie pie.

Reese: Hey.

Bianca: Look who came for a visit.

Reese: Come here.

Bianca: It's your other mom.

Reese: Well, hello. Oh, wait. Hey, you. Hey. Hey, you see that fire over there, huh? It's exciting. God, look at you. Look at you. Look at you. Oh, drooling!
