Ryan: I'm going to go check on it.

Opal: All righty, I'll see myself out.

Ryan: Ok, all right.

[Opal screams]

Ryan: What -- what -- what is it? What happened? What? What -- what? I don't see anything. W -- what?

Opal: There, she was right there. She was right there!

Tad: Hey, right on. Movie night, time to make popcorn. What are we watching?

Jake: We're watching "Natural Childbirth and You."

Tad: Really?

Jake: Yeah.

Tad: I was kind of hoping for "Beverly Hills Chihuahua."

Jake: No, see, unlike you, she's liking the idea of knowing what's going on with her body.

Tad: I understand. I get it. I get the point. Actually, you should, because are you ready for this?

Amanda: Well, it's not like I have the option of sitting out in the waiting room, so --

Tad: Yeah, there you go. This should be fun.

Amanda: All right.

[Music plays]

Man's voice: "Natural Childbirth and You: The delivery." This is the final program in our series on natural childbirth. During active labor, the mother's cervix will thin out and dilate. Contractions will become longer, stronger, and closer together. At this point, your practitioner will probably give you an internal exam, much like this one, to determine how far you've dilated.

Colby: Hi.

Adam: Hi. How are you doing? What are you up to?

Colby: I was working on a paper, but I can't seem to concentrate.

Adam: Well, you feeling all right?

Colby: Yeah, I'm fine. Did you love her, Dad? My mother. Did you ever really love her?

Erica: I think my daughter still loves you, Reese.

Reese: Well, then, I have to go to her.

Erica: And stay there.

Reese: What?

Erica: In Paris. Be with Bianca and your children, but do it in Paris, away from here.

Reese: You don't want Bianca in Pine Valley?

Erica: Oh, of course, I would love that, but Kendall -- I mean, Kendall -- the last thing Kendall needs is -- is for Bianca to come back here now.

Reese: Yeah, with Gabrielle.

Erica: Go to Paris, ask for forgiveness, ask for another chance, find what you and Bianca once had together, make my daughter happy.

Reese: Thank you. Thank you.

Erica: You're welcome.

Zach: Hey -- look how big you got. Wow, what do you weight now? Ok, what did you do with this one? Hey, come here. Hi. Oh, yeah. I miss you.

Bianca: Who else knows I'm here?

Zach: No one but me.

Miranda: Mommy, where's my dog?

Bianca: Oh, don't worry, sweetheart. She should be right in here.

Zach: Thank you for coming. I know it's not easy to be here even for a little while.

Bianca: Well, you wore me down.

Zach: I didn't wear you down. I just -- I'm just glad you took my phone call. I meant everything I said.

Bianca: I know you did, and I couldn't see coming all the way to New York for a wedding and not coming to see you guys, especially when I heard what happened to Ian. How is he?

Zach: He's good. He's -- he's fine. He's at home.

Bianca: That's great. Thank God. I want to see him, and I knew that you wanted to see Gabrielle.

Zach: And I was hoping that you'd want to see Reese. The kids want to see their other mother.

Bianca: Why are you doing this? I'm trying to move on with my life, and -- and you're trying to --

Zach: I know, I know, I know. Well, because I love you, and I love these kids, and I feel responsible for what happened, destroying your family. I -- you're also one of my favorite people, and I don't like that, and when you sent the picture of Gabrielle, I saw how big she'd gotten, and I just wanted to do something to fix it.

Bianca: You can't fix my family.

Zach: No, I didn't mean -- didn't mean fix it. I just -- I want to do something, you know? I don't know. I don't want Reese, love Reese, and she doesn't love me or want me. We just -- it was a mistake, and I'm sorry, and -- and she misses you, and she loves you, but I -- but I don't want to speak for her. I want her to talk to you.

Bianca: I -- I never said that I would see Reese, and, in fact, I'm -- I'm completely regretting even coming. I think maybe the best thing to do would be for me to get on the next plane and just go back to Paris.

Zach: Now, stop, don't -- I'm sorry. Hey, I'm sorry. I -- I, uh, I shouldn't have done that. I shouldn't have brought up Reese, and -- come on, let's just go home, go see Spike and Ian and Kendall, just see some family, ok?

Erica: I bought these outfits for Miranda and Gabrielle, and I was going to send them, but now that you're going to Paris, you can take them for me.

Reese: Yes, of course.

Erica: So, do you know how you're going to do it, how you're going to approach Bianca?

Reese: Oh, you know, I've thought about it a million times. Bianca and I met on a beautiful day, just like today, and it was in the park, and Bianca always walks Miranda through the park on her way home from school, and then after we met, we did it together. I'm just hoping she still takes that same walk.

Erica: Well, make it special. You know, bring her a bouquet of her favorite flowers. If you still have it, you might wear the dress you wore when you two first met, and just -- just try to find the magic that you had when you two first fell in love.

Reese: You know, Bianca always told me you were a die-hard romantic. Now I understand.

Erica: Well, if there's anything at all I can do to help you with Bianca --

Kendall: What's going on here?

Erica: We were having a conversation.

Kendall: Yes, about Bianca. Stay away from her. You don't deserve her. You never did.

Erica: Kendall --

Reese: You can't stop me. I'm going.

Kendall: Going where?

Reese: To Paris.

Erica: Your sister is heartbroken. I have been encouraging Reese to go back to Bianca.

Kendall: Well, I guess I can't complain about that too much. It would get you out of Pine Valley, after all.

Reese: Yeah, I've got to get going. I have a plane to catch. Thank you for being so kind.

Erica: Ok, what's going on?

Kendall: Reese is leaving. This is -- this is great news.

Erica: You backed down awfully fast.

Kendall: Why are you supporting her all of a sudden?

Erica: Because I believe that your sister still loves her.

Kendall: That bitch broke up my marriage, in case you forgot.

Erica: No, no, you did that all by yourself.

Amanda: Oh, God, that must hurt like hell.

Tad: You think?

Man's voice: This is the actual birthing stage itself. As the baby's head progresses down the birth canal, your practitioner may decide that a procedure known as an episiotomy is needed due to positioning or size of the baby's head.

Amanda: Oh! Oh, oh!

Jake: Would you stop it?

Amanda: Just give me -- stop.

Jake: Stop it.

Tad: No, please -- thank you. Thank you. Uh, thank you I'm cooked. I'm done.

Jake: This is not a procedure that is done that often anymore.

Tad: Yeah, like that's good news.

Amanda: I got to get some water.

Tad: Hey, want me to tell you how it turns out?

Jake: Stop.

Tad: You --

Jake: No wonder -- yeah, me, I became the doctor in the family. That's why, and you became the -- what did you become?

Tad: Never mind, don't help. I'm going to get out of here. You guys got something good going, so I figured home entertainment, because I --

Jake: All right, stop, stop. Are you -- are you ready? Let's finish this!

Tad: Is there a sequel?

Jake: Stop it. Yeah, let's just -- you want to -- just -- we'll just finish it up, and --

Amanda: No, I don't want to do it.

[Door closes]

Jake: All right, then we'll, you know, we'll do it whenever you -- whenever you're ready.

Amanda: No, you -- you don't understand. I don't want any of it. The contractions, the crowning, the pushing, the screaming. I'm not doing it.

Adam: There was a time when I loved your mother very much.

Colby: Then what went wrong?

Adam: Well, we were too much alike, I guess. No room in the den for two alpha wolves. Why -- why are you asking about this now?

Colby: The whole custody battle thing with Little A, it -- it hit home, I guess. I don't understand why this family has to keep splitting into pieces. Were there happy times with you and my mom?

Adam: Oh, oh, yes, of course, there were.

Colby: Tell me about them.

Adam: Well, I remember one that, uh -- um --

Colby: Daddy, what is it? What's wrong?

Adam: Nothing, I just, uh --

Opal: She was standing right --

Ryan: Ok, you know what? You know what? I -- I don't need this. I really -- I really don't, Opal, ok? Not after everything and what happened --

Opal: Look, I -- I'm sorry. I do not ask for these things to happen, you know?

Emma: Why are you all screaming?

Opal: Oh --

Ryan: Oh, honey, it's ok. It's ok.

Opal: It was just -- something startled me. It was nothing, really. Um -- uh, nothing to worry your little head about. I'm going to get on home now, and, uh -- you -- you be a good girl, all right? Bye.

Ryan: Hey, what do you say we get a snack, huh, maybe some cookies or something like that? Does that sound like a good idea?

[Doorbell rings]

Ryan: You get upstairs and finish your homework, ok?

Man: Mr. Lavery?

Ryan: Yeah.

Man: There you go.

Ryan: Thank you. Thanks.

Bianca: God, Ian's been through so much.

Zach: Well, he's happy now. He's whistling. He's glad you're here.

Bianca: So how are you and Kendall?

Zach: Huh. I guess no one told you. We're not together anymore.

Bianca: No, no one told me that. My mom didn't even mention it, and, of course, I haven't talked to Kendall in ages. I'm so sorry.

Zach: Oh, that's all right. Your mother's too self-involved to really tell anybody anything, and she wants us to get back together. That's not going to happen.

Bianca: This is about Reese. Isn't it?

Zach: No, nothing to do with Reese. It's about Kendall and Ryan. She wants to be with him. They're together or were together. I don't know. I -- I can't keep track of that stuff.

[Door opens and closes]

Kendall: Bianca, what a surprise.

Colby: Dad, what's wrong?

Adam: Oh, I was -- I was -- I was just lost in one of the nicer memories I had of your mother.

Colby: Oh, tell me about it.

Adam: No, no, it's -- it's -- there's no point to it. It's all part of -- all part of the past.

Colby: Why are you angry at me?

Adam: I'm not angry. I'm not angry. I'm just -- I just -- I need to, uh -- I need to be left alone. I need to lie down for a while.

[Phone rings]

Erica: Hello?

Colby: Erica, it's Colby. Is there any way you could come over to the house?

Erica: Colby? What -- what's the matter?

Colby: It's Dad. He's scaring me.

Amanda: If I was keeping the baby, that would be one thing, but I'm not, so as soon as I go into labor, I want to be knocked out cold.

Jake: All right, and I'm just -- I'm just trying to say --

Amanda: No, no, I don't want to go through it. I don't want to know anything that's going on. I just want to dream about a pretty stork flying into the delivery room.

Jake: Oh, I'm just saying that it would be a lot healthier for the little guy if -- if you were conscious for the whole experience.

Amanda: Wait, wait a minute. Wait a minute. That's the second time today you used the term "little guy."

Jake: It's just a euphemism, really.

Amanda: You know the sex of this baby, don't you?

Jake: I might have seen the sonogram, and I might have noticed that it was a little boy.

Amanda: Oh!

Jake: All right, all right. I'm sorry.

Amanda: I didn't want to know.

Jake: Ok, all right.

Amanda: Jake, I didn't want to know anything.

[Door closes]

Amanda: How could you do this?

Jake: Ok, all right, ok.

Pete: What's going on? What did you do to her?

Jake: Get out of it.

Amanda: You ruined everything. No, Jake, just leave me alone.

Pete: Well, you heard the lady.

Jake: Shut your face, Petey, all right? Just shut it! Look, you got to go to the hospital. I'll drive you to the hospital. We'll talk about it on the way to the hospital.

Amanda: No, I will drive. I will drive myself, ok? Just -- just leave me alone.

Jake: Don't be like that.

Pete: Hey.

Jake: Hey, hey, hey.

[Door slams]

Opal: Uh, my Lord, what is going on?

Pete: He and Amanda had a fight.

Opal: Yeah, guess so.

Pete: Are you all right, Mom?

Opal: No, I am not all right. But, heaven, I had another vision over at Ryan's. It was -- it was Annie Lavery, and she had her -- her hand was all full of -- full of blood.

Pete: Mom, it's ok.

Opal: No.

Pete: It wasn't real.

Opal: But I'm just so afraid for them, you know, for Ryan and for Annie. I -- Ryan didn't want to listen to me, and I don't blame him after what happened to Greenlee, but, I mean, that vision came true, and I'm just scared to death that this one will, too.

Pete: Mom, you have to stop thinking like that. You have to shut all that stuff out. It's like this new book I'm reading. It talks about power of positive thinking. I mean, you can determine your destiny by concentrating on the good things you want to happen and exclude the bad thoughts. You won't think about them, and they won't happen.

Opal: No, no, Petey. It doesn't work that way with this. These are voices that demand to be heard, visions that have to be seen. I cannot stop them. Nobody can.

Erica: Why don't you take a drive, you know, get some air, see some friends, and let me talk to him.

Colby: Ok, thanks.

Erica: Ok.

Adam: What are you doing here?

Erica: Adam, Colby called me. She's worried about you. She knows something's wrong, and she's scared. I should have known trying to help you would be a big waste of time.

Adam: Erica, wait, wait. I need you. I need you.

Bianca: And I wanted to see Ian, and since I was already in New York, anyway, it just --

Kendall: Does, um, does Mom know you're here?

Bianca: No, not yet. I was going to call her after I got the kids settled in.

Kendall: Well, we should catch up.

Bianca: Yeah. In fact, Zach has been telling me that you're with Ryan again.

Kendall: News travels fast.

Bianca: Um, I should go help Rachael with Gabrielle.

Zach: I saw you at the airport. You must have been disappointed that I wasn't with another woman.

Kendall: Don't flatter yourself.

Zach: Do me a favor? Stay out of my private life.

Kendall: Well, why don't you do me a favor, and stay out of my sister's life. I know what you're doing. You're trying to get her and Reese back together, so she'll move back to Pine Valley, and you can play father to her little baby again. You want to humiliate me.

Zach: Humiliate you? All about you, isn't it? Grow up.

Kendall: Well, you know what? It doesn't matter because you're little plan didn't work. Reese is gone. She went back to Paris.

Zach: No, I told her not to go.

Kendall: Well, obviously, you don't control her as well as you thought. So, hopefully, this will put an end to any happy reunion between them.

[Door slams]

[Footsteps]

Bianca: Where did Zach go?

Kendall: I'd rather not talk about it.

Bianca: Ok. Well, would you like to talk about you and Ryan instead?

Alexander's voice: Greeting and salutations, my old friend. I hope this letter finds you in fine spirits and good health. Alas, I am still rendered immobile by the assassin's bullet lodged in my spine. This forces me to use voice recognition software, so please excuse my brevity. I was really pleased to learn you are once again in control of the company which still bears my name. I gave it to you originally in order to keep it from my son. And so, it was with much satisfaction that I learned how you had appropriated it from him in such a clever manner. Alex, or Zach as he now calls himself, is still as dead to me as he was then. I, however, am not dead, and I want the world to know my story, the whole story. I have dictated a manuscript which you will find enclosed. It is my autobiography, and every word is the truth. I am sending it to you, because I would like to see it published. I anticipate a bestseller, perhaps even a movie deal from the Satin Slayer chapters. You will find I have set the record straight concerning a number of the facts in that case. I hope you find them illuminating. I look forward to your reaction. Do enjoy the book. Fondly, Alexander Cambias. As 2006 was coming to a close, a wave of terror held Pine Valley in its thrall. The Satin Slayer was arguably the most famous murderer since Jack the Ripper. The cunning and skill that went into planning these crimes represents some of my greatest achievements. But while these women may have perished by my hands and only one man was truly responsible for their deaths, my son, Alex Cambias, Junior, who now lives under the alias of Zach Slater. His was the ultimate crime, the murder of his father's heart. He denied his name, abandoned his heritage, destroyed his family. He led me to believe that he was dead. When I discovered the truth of his subterfuge, the heavens demanded punishment. He had to suffer. So he had to know that the killings were about him and that the woman he loved most would be the ultimate victim. But, I must correct the historical record on one crucial matter. Six victims were killed during the Satin Slayer's reign of terror, but one of those victims was not mine.

Zach: Reese. Sorry, man. Reese, hey. Sorry, I thought I missed you.

Reese: What are you doing? You're not going to talk me into not going.

Zach: Uh, yes, I am. You can't go to Paris because Bianca is here -- and Miranda and Gabrielle.

Kendall: What Ryan and I have is complicated, years worth of complicated. And Zach, he just -- he never really understood how lost I was when I came out of that coma, but Ryan, he understood me. He was there for me. And I know -- I know it shouldn't have happened so soon after Greenlee, but I just -- I felt like I had no one else to turn to.

Bianca: And are you and Ryan still together? I'll take that as a no.

Kendall: Ryan -- I don't know. He's having a tough time. I mean, life isn't easy for anyone right now, including him, but we'll get past it.

Bianca: Like you and Zach did?

Kendall: Why are you being like this? Why? Why? Are you trying to make me feel bad?

Bianca: No, I'm -- I'm sorry. I -- I really just want to understand you.

Kendall: Oh, yeah? Well, good luck with that. Your sister's a bigger mess than you thought.

Bianca: So you did something to end things with Ryan?

Kendall: Ryan, uh, he's -- he's not too happy with me right now, but he'll -- he'll get past it. He just overreacted.

Bianca: To what?

Kendall: Well, Zach is seeing another woman. I don't know who she is, but Ryan is angry with me because of how curious I am about her.

Bianca: So you still love Zach?

Kendall: Don't do that, please. Please stop. I'm sick of that. I get enough from Mom and Ryan. I'm tired of everyone telling me how I feel. I don't need you piling it on, too. Please.

Bianca: Ok, I'm sorry. I -- for everything. I started this. I'm the reason that your life is such a mess. I wanted to have another baby, and I was stupid enough to ask Zach. I should have asked you. I brought Zach and Reese together. I ruined your life and your marriage. I -- I did this to you, and I hate myself for it. I am so sorry. I am so sorry.

Pete: My life is going to take off after this. Colby will finally realize how much she cares about me, and it's all going to be because of positive in, negative out.

[Knock at door]

Colby: Hey, Pete, got a second? I need to talk to somebody.

Erica: Tell me what happened with Colby.

Adam: She was grilling me about Liza, whether we loved each other -- well, why the divorce. The images were there. I just -- there was no thread to tie it all together. I couldn't -- I couldn't find the right words.

Erica: Well, I wouldn't be too upset, if I were you. I mean, Liza was a mess, and so were your marriages to her. It's no wonder that you would have a tough time coming up with any happy memories. What? What is it? Why are you looking at me like that?

Adam: When's the last time that you and I saw each other?

Erica: Yesterday. I was here when you had your seizure.

Adam: I don't -- I don't remember that. I, uh, I don't remember you being here.

Erica: Adam, how many pills have you had today?

Adam: Exactly the number I should have. I -- it isn't the pills, Erica. It's me.

Kendall: Bianca, listen to me. Listen to me a minute. Listen, listen. It is not your fault.

Bianca: I just -- I loved Reese so much, and I wanted to give her a family, and it was crazy to ask Zach. I -- I betrayed you, and then look what happened.

Kendall: You couldn't have predicted what happened, ok? The tornado, Zach and Reese.

Bianca: You know, Zach told me that there is nothing between him and Reese, that there never was. They were just two people really messed up at the time.

Kendall: Well, whoever Zach is with now, it's not Reese. I know that.

Bianca: Do you think Reese still --

Kendall: Yes. I think she's still crazy about you.

Bianca: This wedding I went to in New York, when the couples said their vows, I -- I broke down. I couldn't stop crying, and I realized that I was crying for me and Reese, for what we had and what we lost. I'm still in love with her, and I -- I want to try again, but I'm scared. I just don't know if I'll ever be able to trust her again.

Kendall: I know how you feel. I stopped trusting Zach, and I let him go, and, instead of crawling back to me, he moved on. So, yeah, I'm really, really, really angry about that. I mean, I am really angry about that, and I am taking it out on everyone I possibly can. God, I hate who I am right now.

Bianca: I don't hate you. We're both a mess right now.

Kendall: We are.

Bianca: God. Maybe we can help each other.

Reese: Bianca is here and with Miranda and Gabrielle? Why didn't -- have you seen them?

Zach: Yeah. They're at the house.

Reese: Why didn't you tell me?

Zach: I didn't tell you because she didn't necessarily come to see you. I mean, she's here, and she had -- there was a wedding in New York, and she came down to see Ian because of what he was going through, and I know she misses you. She's still a little confused, that's all.

Reese: So I -- I don't know what to do. Zach, you know I'll do anything to make this work.

[Phone rings]

Zach: Kendall.

Kendall: I think it's time you and I call a truce and work together for Bianca.

Colby: And hearing from my mom, it just freaked me out. I totally blew her off, and ever since, I can't stop thinking about her and my dad. He started acting really weird, and I don't know why.

Pete: Well, is there anything I can do?

Colby: I lost what I might have had with my mom a long time ago. I can't lose my dad, too.

Man: Everything's good. We have a good image of the baby. Would you like to see the monitor?

Amanda: No. I keep telling you people I don't want to see him. Him.

Man: Excuse me?

Amanda: I -- I've changed my mind. I think I want to see my baby.

Tad: Is it about Annie or Aidan? I mean, I can't get in touch with --

Ryan: No, it's not. It's about this.

Ryan: And this. My first instinct was to burn it when I found out who it was from.

Tad: Well, why didn't you?

Ryan: Because I started reading it, and I found that.

Alexander's voice: Some fool out there decided to take advantage of the lesson in pain I was teaching my son, and I was greatly insulted to be blamed for this ridiculous crime. Poison pancakes. This was the work of an amateurish clown. I vehemently disavow any involvement in the murder of Dixie Cooney Martin.

Erica: It's herbal tea. Drink it, Adam. It'll make you feel better. Adam?

Adam: Oh, I'm sorry.

Erica: It's herbal tea.

Adam: It's getting worse, Erica. Whatever -- whatever it is that's wrong with me, it's getting much worse.

Opal: Compartmentalize your fears. Open the doors in your mind to positive thoughts, and positive results will follow. This is what I need.

Ryan: I thought you might need this. Cambias wouldn't have any motive to deny involvement in Dixie's murder. I mean, him not -- with him admitting to all the others.

Tad: Ok. So if the Satin Slayer didn't kill Dixie, who did?

Reese: Oh, ok, so she's -- she's not coming, all right? Maybe -- maybe she changed her mind, or you know what? Maybe -- maybe Kendall did this to humiliate me. I'm -- I'm going to just -- I'm going to go.

Zach: Hey. I think you should stay.
