Opal: Go by the manor?

Tad: Yeah, what's left of that. I'm sorry, Mom. It's gone.

Opal: God, all those years. Everything, my clothes, my jewelry, everything gone. Oh, I loved that place.

Tad: That's a good enough reason for Hayward to burn it down.

Opal: No, it was me, Tad. I never, never should have burned those Tarot cards. Hey.

Jack: Hey.

Opal: Why the long face?

Jack: How are you feeling, Opal?

Opal: Come on, give it to me straight. What is it?

Jack: Opal, did you know that you were behind in your home insurance premiums?

Opal: Well, Palmer and me, we got a business manager handles all that.

Jack: Did you know that most of Palmer's trips to Europe have been about trying to get your personal finances in order?

Frankie: Oh, believe what? You can't even see it, can you? Amanda cares so much for you she would give anything for you to be the father of that baby.

J.R.: Except I'm not! It's Hayward's. Oh, this must really suck for you, huh? After all this time and effort, the secret's finally out.

Krystal: J.R.

J.R.: Were you really that desperate to hang on to David?

Krystal: That is not what I was doing.

J.R.: Well, just shut up! You disgust me. Babe? You remember her, right? She would be ashamed.

[Krystal slaps J.R.]

David: You want to hate me? Go right ahead. Be my guest. But you should know I did you a favor. With Junior out of the picture, this kid at least has a fighting chance.

Amanda: Does it?

David: Mm-hmm.

Amanda: What's the plan, David?

David: Well, isn't it obvious? One little screw up, one bad move, and I sue for sole custody.

Amanda: I am the mother. I get to call the shots.

David: If you make the right ones, but if you're fantasizing about a David-free future, it's never going to happen. I will not walk away from what's mine. If you try to keep me from my own kid, Amanda, you will live to regret it. Or maybe you won't.

Annie: You're so serious over there. You working on some top secret mission or something?

Aidan: Something like that.

Annie: Yeah? And does it have anything to do with getting me the hell out of here?

Annie: I think yes. Oh, Cambias? Isn't that Zach's company? What, are you working with him or something?

Aidan: Is this really how you want to spend your day?

Ryan: Where did this added security come from?

Pete: I don't know. I didn't put it there.

Ryan: Well, somebody obviously did.

Kendall: Hello, hello. Hi, hi.

Ryan: Hi, guys. Hi. What a surprise. What are you guys doing here?

Kendall: Uh, well, Rachael called with a family emergency this morning, so I had to bring them in. Christian, do you mind giving them some snacks and some crackers and just hang out with them for a while?

Christian: Sure, no problem.

Kendall: Thank you much. Ok, guys.

Christian: Excuse me, guys.

Kendall: Thank you so, so much. All right. Thanks. Ok, oh, my God, what a morning, what a morning. So, how are things going here?

Ryan: Did you put any added security on the network by any chance?

Kendall: Uh, I don't now. Isn't that what tech people are for?

Ryan: You ok? You talk to Zach?

Kendall: After Rachael called, I -- I almost picked up the phone, but I couldn't do it. It's Zach, and I couldn't call him.

Reese: Well? What do you think? Is it permanent? Excruciating silence. Well, that is never a good thing.

Doctor: I'm sorry, Ms. Williams. There's no change.

Reese: But there will be, right?

Doctor: Unfortunately, that's impossible to predict.

Reese: You flew this guy all the way here for that? To tell me the same damn thing?

Zach: Come on, Reese. Thanks, Doctor. We'll, uh, we'll find another specialist.

Reese: Why? What's the point, Zach? I am blind. Just ship me off to a facility and just be done with it, all right?

Zach: That's not going to happen.

Reese: Why not? Just think about how happy it would make your wife.

Zach: Well, my wife really has no say in this. Not anymore.

Reese: Anymore -- wait. What do you mean? Zach?

Zach: I left her.

Opal: Broke? Flat? How did that happen?

Jack: Well, the best I can tell, it all goes back to your business manager, who instead of paying your bills and investing your money was --

Tad: Was stealing it.

Jack: Yeah.

Opal: Well, and Palmer, the old goat?

Jack: He's nowhere to be found, Opal.

Opal: That SOB never said a word.

Jack: Well, you -- maybe -- maybe he ju -- maybe -- maybe he just didn't want you to worry, you know?

Tad: Mama, you're going to get through this.

Opal: How?

Tad: Well, for starters, you're going to move in with me. You and Petey.

Opal: Oh, Tad. I can't do that. You don't have near enough room for me and Petey --

Tad: We -- we will make room, ok? Think about how thrilled the girls will be. Come on, I want you to do this. Just till you get on your feet.

Opal: How did I ever get so lucky to land a son like you, huh?

Ryan: Zach hasn't even been back to visit the kids?

Kendall: No, not yet. I mean, it hasn't been that long, but I bet it's killing him already.

Ryan: Sounds like it's killing you.

Kendall: For Spike and Ian, yeah. I mean, I miss him. I do. I mean, how could I not feel a loss? But --

Ryan: But what?

Kendall: A small part of me feels relieved. No more yelling, no more tension, but there is the silence.

Ryan: You've got to be careful. That, uh, that silence can swallow you whole.

Kendall: I'm sorry, Ryan. My God, you must want to shake me.

Ryan: No.

Kendall: At least -- I mean, at least Zach is still alive.

Ryan: Kendall, I just -- I want you to be happy.

Kendall: Happy. I don't even remember how that works.

Ryan: But they do, right? I'm just saying you've got to try your best to keep things normal, for them. Even if it's -- even if it's hard for you.

Kendall: I know. I know. I mean, Zach got so close with the boys when I was in the coma. Spike, he keeps asking where he is.

Ryan: I think you should call him.

Kendall: Call him. Call him right now?

Ryan: Yeah, call Zach. Tell him. Tell him how much the kids miss him.

Kendall: But, Ryan, I mean, you --

Ryan: I can't stand the guy. I know. I think you should call him.

Zach: Ah, I miss my boys like crazy.

Reese: Uh, I -- and I don't know -- I don't know what to say.

Zach: You don't have to say anything. It's not about you. It's -- it's me and Kendall. We're trying to figure something out, and it's just not -- it's just not working, so we're going to take a break.

Reese: Look, I know that you say it's not about me, but --

Zach: It's not. It's -- this was way before you got to town, way before Gabrielle was even a thought.

Reese: Back when you were in the bomb shelter?

Zach: Ah, yeah, I guess that's, um, and, you know, I get it. You know, you -- you think you lost somebody. You want to reach out. I -- I get it. I get all that.

Reese: What? You get it by coming to terms with it, is --

Zach: Yeah, that's a different story. Who knows? Maybe I was punishing her, you know? Maybe -- can you do that? Can you punish someone and still love them? I don't know.

Reese: I -- I don't know either.

Zach: Yeah, I know. It's ok. I didn't tell her about Gaby. I talked to her about why I did what I did, because of what my brother had done to Bianca, but I don't even know if that's true. Maybe it was punishing her. Maybe -- you know what? It really doesn't matter. We don't need to talk about that. We should talk about you and what, um --

[Phone rings]

Zach: Hey, I'm sorry. It's Kendall. Hello?

Kendall: Hey, it's me. Are you busy?

Zach: Uh, not really.

Kendall: Do you think you can swing by Fusion?

Zach: For what?

Kendall: It's the boys. Rachael had a family emergency this morning, so I had to bring them into work.

Zach: Why didn't you call me before?

Kendall: I'm calling you now.

Zach: Ok, I'll be there.

Aidan: You did lock the door, right?

Annie: I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid.

Aidan: You're not crazy.

Annie: Mm-hmm, well, not anymore at least, thanks to you. I mean it, Aidan. When we're together, I feel stronger, clearer, like everything just makes sense, you know? I don't even think about Ryan anymore. But I do think about Emma. How is she?

Aidan: She's fantastic. She's got her school. She's seeing her friends. You have one happy, healthy little girl.

Annie: Well, that's all that matters. Hey, so this little job that you're doing, is it dangerous?

Aidan: No.

Annie: No, but it has to do with Zach? I mean, Cambias, that is his company, right?

Aidan: I'm doing a little investigating for him, yeah.

Annie: Hmm, on your computer?

Aidan: Partly. It doesn't take a genius.

Annie: Really? Please, I beg to differ. You should've seen all of us at Fusion. We were hopeless when it came to computers. Actually, no, that is a lie. Pete, Pete was like our go-to tech guy. He was great with computers.

Pete: Don't worry about me, Mom. I'll come see you later in the hospital.

Randi: How's your mom?

Pete: Great, except for the fact that our house just burned down, some dude stole all our money, and I'm now officially poor. Oh, my God. What's Colby going to think?

Randi: Oh, come on. You must be kidding me.

Pete: No, she just agreed to go out with me. Of course, it took me running into a burning house, but it's for real. It's like a full-on date.

Randi: So?

Pete: So? She's Colby Chandler. She deserves lobster and candles and crisp, white tablecloths, not some meal you order by number that comes with a paper crown.

Randi: Whoa, whoa, whoa, stop it. Look, if Colby's only into you because you're rolling in dough, then you've got a bigger problem than which drive-thru to hit.

Pete: Drive-thru. I wonder if we still have a car?

Natalia: Hey, can I talk to you for a sec?

Randi: Yeah, of course. What's up?

Natalia: So, I overheard my dad and Angie talking.

Randi: Mm-hmm?

Natalia: I just wanted to make sure you're ok? What am I saying? Of course, you're not ok. Frankie leaves for Iraq in a month. I just -- babe, I feel awful. I mean, I feel awful for everybody, but especially for you, you know? I just -- I know how close you guys have gotten. This is not cool.

Randi: Obviously, not as close as I thought.

Pete: You guys serve free hors d'oeuvres, right? Sweet.

Tad: So the long and the short of it is that Opal and Petey are going to be moving in with you and me.

Jake: That's -- that's ok. Now we have Jenny and Kathy and you and me, and we have Amanda. Well, Amanda is really two people. Well, one and a half --

Tad: Two people because she's got a bun in the oven, which is another thing I want to talk to you about.

Jake: Oh, no, no, you're not abandoning Amanda, no.

Tad: What do you mean "No"? You don't even what I'm going to say. I'm -- wait. Jake, who said anything about abandoning her? I just -- I just think in terms of the situation, she might want to consider moving to another state, you know, or country.

Jake: Listen. I care about her, all right? I just don't want David to hurt her.

Tad: Obviously. I don't want you to get any more involved in this thing than you already are. I don't want something to happen to you.

Jake: Mm-hmm.

Tad: Hayward has already cost this family way too much.

Jake: Exactly. He took Dixie. He took Krystal. I don't want him to do the same thing to her. All right?

Krystal: And what would Babe think about you, J.R.? You put her son in danger.

Frankie: You guys want to keep your voices down, please?

J.R.: You want to raise Little A with the devil himself? At least what happened with me was an accident. What's your excuse?

Angie: What's going on in here?

Krystal: You know, I lost my daughter because of you. I will not lose my grandson.

Angie: Listen, why don't we take a walk?

Krystal: No, no.

J.R.: Babe lost her life because of a tornado!

Krystal: Oh, yeah, you know what? I thought that, too, for a long time, but David was right. If you hadn't come back here, and you would've just ignored your daddy's bogus subpoena --

David: What's going on? What did -- what did he say to you?

J.R.: Nothing that hasn't already been said before. Krystal used to be somebody that I asked to call "Mom." I don't even know who she is anymore.

David: So how is our grandson? I can't wait to show him his new room.

J.R.: You'll get your hands on my son over my dead body.

Frankie: Easy.

David: Oh, Junior, don't tempt me.

Randi: How could he keep a secret like this from me?

Natalia: I don't know, hon. Maybe he was waiting for the right time, or he didn't want to freak you out, you know?

Randi: My boyfriend's going off to war, Natalia. This goes way beyond being freaked out.

Natalia: Do you want me to go knock some sense into him?

Randi: No, I'll deal with Frankie myself.

J.R.: Let me ask you something, Amanda. Is there anybody else that knew that you were carrying Hayward's baby, or was I literally the village idiot? Because, let's see, there was Krystal, Jake, Frankie --

Amanda: I needed their help, J.R.

J.R.: What? To keep me in the dark?

Amanda: No, to keep you here with us. I wanted you to be the father of this baby. You have no idea.

J.R.: Yes, I have an idea, Amanda, because everything that I felt and everything you told me was a lie.

Amanda: No, no, that's not true. What we felt for each other, what I still feel, that's true. That's real.

J.R.: You were manipulating me from day one.

Amanda: Yes, but the more time that I spent with you and Little A -- don't you get it? Everything changed.

J.R.: No, no, Amanda, I don't get it.

Amanda: I love you.

Aidan: All right, then. You have to get back to being a model patient.

Annie: Mm-hmm.

Aidan: And you have a therapy session soon?

Annie: Oh, I hate those sessions. The doctor talks to me like I'm 12.

Aidan: You're doing what I told you, right?

Annie: I'm trying.

Aidan: You keep that up, you're going to be out of here in no time.

Annie: You know, when I'm not with you, Aidan, it gets cold and lonely, and I get scared.

Aidan: Of what?

Annie: Of slipping back into that dark place.

Aidan: You never have to go back there, Annie. I won't let you.

Kendall: Hi, that was quick.

Zach: No traffic. Hey, Spike, come here. How are you doing? Ah, how do you like it at Mom's work, huh?

Ryan: I'm going to get a little bit of work done.

Zach: Good idea. Hey, you should change your posters. Put Ryan's face on there. The new face of Fusion.

Kendall: Well, with the economy the way it is and my mom out of town, I'm just glad Ryan's here to take care of everything.

Zach: Yep, he'll make it happen. He's a big-picture kind of guy, won't let you down.

Kendall: Well, I'm counting on it.

Zach: I know you are.

Kendall: Anyway, after I got off the phone with you, Rachael called and said the family emergency was taken care of, so she's headed back to the house.

Zach: All right, I'll meet her there, put the boys down for a nap.

Kendall: Thank you.

Zach: Say goodbye to your mom.

Kendall: Bye, honey.

Zach for Spike: Bye, Mom. Hey, Petey?

Pete: Yeah?

Zach: Give me a hand, would you?

Spike: Bye, Mom.

Kendall: Bye, sweetie. I love you.

Zach: Ok, see you.

[Annie gasps]

Annie: What are you doing in here?

Tori: Oh, I'm sorry. I hope I didn't startle you. I just wanted to say hello.

Annie: Have we met?

Tori: Feels like it. I've studied your case very closely.

Annie: Studied my case?

Tori: Oh, I'm -- I'm a graduate student. Psychology. I volunteer here for class credit. My name's Tori.

Annie: Hi, I'm --

Annie and Tori: Annie.

[Tori laughs]

Tori: Yeah, like I said, I've done my research. I was hoping to write my thesis on you. Well, obviously, I would need -- I would need some -- your permission and -- along with a couple of interviews.

Annie: I don't, um, I don't know. I'm kind of -- I'm kind of all talked out.

Tori: Of course, you are. I'm sorry to bother you.

Annie: Hey. You're kind of shy, aren't you?

Tori: I'm here every day. This is the first time I've worked up the nerve to introduce myself.

Annie: Do you have a boyfriend? You should get one.

Tori: Why? Would that make a difference?

Annie: Made all the difference with me. You know what? I think I'm going to help you, Tori.

Tori: Help me what?

Annie: Get a boyfriend. First things first. Let's get rid of these. See? There. It's working already.

[Knock at door]

Reese: Come in. Let me guess. Another specialist? Where are you from? Planet miraculous?

Angie: Pine Valley Hospital, actually.

Reese: Dr. Hubbard.

Angie: Angie.

Reese: Hi.

Angie: Hi. I was worried about you when you left, and I guess Zach has flown in some doctors.

Reese: Yeah. They all say the same thing, though. No change, no answers, no nothing. And, you know, I just -- I just want to get out of here.

Angie: Really? Or are you just scared of what'll happen if you stay? Because I know a thing or two about running away from your feelings. You know, you move forward, you move onward, just move, and sometimes what you really need to do is sit still, take a moment, let it all in.

Reese: Yeah, but if I do that, I'm afraid I won't bounce back, and I already feel so left behind and so alone sometimes, it just hurts, so. Do you know what that feels like?

Angie: Yes. I do. It's the worst kind of pain imaginable.

Zach: News?

Aidan: Someone's been hacking into the Cambias system, and they've been using Kendall's computer to do it.

Zach: Ah, well, I saw Ryan use it today at Fusion. What kind of files are they looking for?

Aidan: Mostly financial records, but it's not going to be easy for him now.

Zach: Why not?

Aidan: Because I remotely installed new firewalls on our end and at Fusion's.

Pete: That's how you get around it.

Ryan: That's how you get around it. Thank you.

Pete: Mm-hmm. So what exactly are you trying to do? Has Kendall asked you to --

Ryan: No, no, no, she hasn't. Kendall doesn't know anything about this, and I think it's better that we keep it that way, ok? She's got a lot on her mind right now. She's very stressed out. Are we clear? We're clear?

Kendall: Clear on what?

Pete: Ryan was just giving me some lady advice. Got to go.

Kendall: Oh, got a hot date?

Pete: Is there any other kind?

Kendall: Oh, I hope you didn't tell him to say that.

Ryan: No, no. That was a Cortland original. Believe me.

Kendall: Ah, ok, budget reports.

Ryan: Fun.

Kendall: Yes, I talk half. You take half.

Ryan: Ok. So what have we got here? What?

Kendall: What? This -- this thing that you have against Zach.

Ryan: It's not a thing. It's anger, and it's legitimate.

Kendall: I know that, Ryan. I do, and I completely understand. I just need to know that you're here for Greenlee and Fusion and me, nothing else.

Ryan: We talked about this already, Kendall.

Kendall: Promise me.

Ryan: I would never do anything to hurt you, ok? I wouldn't. I'm not using you to get to Zach.

Kendall: I believe you.

Frankie: So now David knows everything, and I don't know what he's going to do next to me, to Amanda, but you know what? Part of me is actually glad that it's all out. At least now, I don't have to carry it all around with me.

Randi: Because it's hard holding on to a secret, right?

Frankie: Yeah, especially when it affects your boss, and when your boss is David Hayward.

Randi: Either way, I mean, your boss, your girlfriend, that bond of trust, it's broken. I mean, if you keep someone --

Frankie: Randi.

Randi: In the dark long enough about something that affects their life, it's bound to cause trouble.

Frankie: Who told you I was going back to Iraq?

Randi: It doesn't matter, Frankie. It wasn't you.

Reese: When your husband died, or left, did you give up on him?

Angie: Well, I thought I had to because he was gone, but even though life went on, and I'm not saying that I regret it for a second, my heart was always with Jesse.

Reese: True love.

Angie: Yeah, but, you know, it worried me though that after all that time, I still kept hoping. You know, sometimes I'd find myself just sitting and staring out of a window and wondering "what if?" And that felt stupid or delusional or both.

Reese: Yeah, I know, because I feel -- I feel the same way about Bianca. You know, when she left, the things that she said, it sounded so final, but, God, when I looked at her, I mean --

Angie: Her eyes told a different story.

Reese: And, I don't know. I just -- I feel like there is -- there is some hope, you know, that maybe someday we'd be able to find our way to each other, and you want to talk about delusional. I mean, I don't know. I mean, Angie, what if I never see her again? I mean, literally.

Angie: You will.

Reese: Well, how do you know?

Angie: Well, of course, I don't know for sure, but I got my miracle. You might get one, too.

Zach: Well, a firewall is not going to do it. Not with Ryan Lavery. Uh, it's time to go on the offensive. Understand?

Aidan: Do you? I'm not going to make a move against Ryan, not until I know you're going to make good on your word.

Zach: What did I tell you? Once Annie gets better, I'll get her released, ok?

Francesca: Excuse me. Mr. Slater, may I speak with you?

Zach: Sure. Give us a second.

Francesca: This just came for your guest Reese Williams.

[She holds up a letter from Bianca]

Zach: I'll take care of it.

Colby: I'm surprised Kendall let you leave work early.

Pete: Well, it's not like they have the money to pay me. Fusion's broke. My family's broke. I can't afford to buy you a juice box, Colby.

Colby: So what the heck are we doing here?

Pete: Eating. Free hors d'oeuvres for the next hour. Are those pigs in the blanket? Come on.

J.R.: I never want to see you again.

Amanda: You don't mean that.

J.R.: I'm not the baby's father, Amanda, so you need to deal with that.

Amanda: I think maybe you should go for now.

J.R.: I will leave when I'm ready. Because of you, I may lose my son, and, if I lose Little Adam, I will never forgive you. You should burn in hell.

Jake: J.R.? It's time for you to go.

J.R.: No, I'm not ready to go. That baby should rot in hell, too.

Amanda: Shut up!

J.R.: Because it's just like its father. You know what you did? You spawned the devil's son!

Amanda: Shut up.

Jake: Shut your mouth.

Tad: Hey! Hey! What the hell is going on?

Jake: Get your stepson out of this hospital before I have him thrown out.

Randi: So, when were you planning on telling me?

Frankie: When it felt right. The thing is, when it comes to going back, to having to leave you, it never feels right.

Randi: So you're definitely going. Because I thought that, you know, maybe you just didn't tell me because you were looking into other options.

Frankie: I signed a contract, Randi. There are no options. When the Army calls, you go.

J.R.: Did you know it was Hayward's baby, too?

Tad: Of course not.

J.R.: Why should I believe you?

Tad: Because I lied to you about something this huge once before. It didn't go very well, and I swore I'd never do it again. J.R., you need to calm down. Come on. Let's -- let's go downstairs to get some coffee.

J.R.: No, you know what? She's poison. You know that, right? You let her in your house, she's going to poison you, too.

Tad: I think we'll be all right.

J.R.: No, don't think. Just do what I'm doing.

J.R.: I'm going to stay as far away from that bitch as possible. She's your problem now.

Jake: Nothing has changed.

Amanda: David knows he's the father, so everything has changed, Jake. He wants this baby.

Jake: Listen, I will do whatever I have to do to protect you, ok, to keep you safe, ok?

Amanda: Do you mean that? Because I need to get rid of this baby, and I can't do it without your help.

Krystal: Why did you do that to Amanda? You said you would keep her secret if she did what you asked, and then you just -- you blew her out of the water.

David: Amanda had it coming.

Krystal: Because you say so?

David: Because she's a liar.

Krystal: And what if she tells the truth this time? What if she testifies that you paid her to get J.R. drinking?

David: Well, that's not going to happen. After her sworn deposition stating the exact opposite. I mean, come on. Her credibility is completely shot.

Krystal: You want Amanda's baby, don't you? That's why you're doing all of this.

David: How many times do I have to say this? I do not want Amanda's baby. I want Babe's child, ok? Our grandson. Krystal, everything I'm doing is because of him, all right? I couldn't save Babe. I am going to save him. Why can't you believe that?

Colby: You're not the only one who's taken a hit. My family may need to start clipping coupons soon.

Colby: I kind of like loitering, and besides, I'm not hanging out with you for your money, Pete. I'm here because I like you.

Colby: That and the kick-ass crab cakes.

[Pete laughs]

Colby: Be right back.

Aidan: Pete, right? Fusion's very young computer wiz.

Pete: I don't know about "wiz."

Aidan: You must help the girls out a lot over there. Why don't you tell me all about it.

Annie: Mr. Right will show up for you. I just know it.

Tori: Like Ryan showed up for you?

Annie: What did you say?

Tori: Well, I just -- you guys had this beautiful family together. I remember reading all about it. It was like a fairy tale.

Annie: Fairy tales don't exist.

Zach: No, I'm afraid I can't do that.
