Zach: Find Greenlee before she can get any further. She's probably with Devane.

Hannah: Josh has brought me up to speed. Yeah. No, I'm working on it.

Zach: Find her and call me.

Greenlee: So, um, and now what?

Aidan: "Now what?" Well, now, I have to prove that you are not a baby-stealing crazy woman.

Greenlee: Right. You know, you're the crazy one.

Aidan: I'm the crazy -- why? Because I like fuzzy mints?

Greenlee: Yes.

[Greenlee chuckles]

Greenlee: But you set off fireworks at my trial, you --

Aidan: Uh-huh.

Greenlee: You rescued me in a fireman's uniform. You dressed me as a man, and you threw me on a motorcycle and told me to ride like hell on wheels.

Aidan: Well, you are that, you know. "Hell on wheels."

Greenlee: And you're definitely crazy.

Aidan: Or maybe I just missed you.

Tad: What do you think? You could do -- do up the western?

Kyle: The western?

Tad: Yeah.

Kyle: Yeah, sure.

Tad: Ok. Hey.

Hannah: Ew, stop that.

Tad: What is that?

Hannah: I don't know.

Tad: No? Breakfast is quickly becoming my favorite meal of the day.

Hannah: Yeah?

Tad: What, am I wearing lipstick?

Hannah: No, no, you're fine. I'm glad you could make it, then.

Tad: Yeah, I'm glad I could make it, too. Just out of curiosity, does your boss have any idea how good you are at playing hooky?

Hannah: Yeah.

Tad: He does?

Hannah: He does. No, no --

Tad: And he pays you, anyway?

Hannah: No, actually, actually, he doesn't mind, as long as I do my job.

[Kendall has a nightmare in which she shoots Greenlee]

Kendall: Please help me! Help me! Someone, help me!

[Voices echo]

Greenlee: How could you betray me? You're going to pay.

[Dog barks]

Kendall: Help me! Help me!

[Gunshot]

Kendall: You don't understand. I had to do it. You made me do it.

[Echoing stops as Kendall wakes up and looks at Zach]

Kendall: You made me do it.

Tad: Yep. I'm glad I don't have any money on this game.

Hannah: Well, you have a lot on your mind.

Tad: Yeah, I do. I could tell you about it, but I'd probably get arrested. How do you feel about Little Bo Peep?

Hannah: Ok, you know, I meant your partner, Aidan.

Tad: Aidan?

Hannah: Yeah, disappearing with Greenlee at her hearing. That was pretty wild.

Tad: Yeah, I guess. But you know what they say about the British. They're nothing if not wacky.

Hannah: Hmm. Then he did do it? He and Greenlee are together?

Tad: Well, jinkies, counselor, I don't know of any proof one way or the other that Mr. Devane was even at that courthouse. You want to get a lamp and shine it in my face?

Hannah: You know, I get why you'd cover for him. He's your partner and your friend. But you have to admit, how romantic -- oh -- romantic.

Tad: Yep. Serves you right.

Hannah: What? Think about it. I mean, he rides in, sweeps her off her feet, saves her from a room full of dragons. I mean, there are women out there who would wait a lifetime for someone to do that. Hmm. You've done it, haven't you?

Tad: Well, you wouldn't know it to watch me. Where's the chalk?

Hannah: No, you saved someone. Did you love her? Wow. She was the love of your life, huh?

Tad: Yeah. Something like that.

[Piano music plays at the Valley Inn]

Adam: Ah. Orange juice is fresh?

Waiter: Yes, sir.

Adam: The croissants?

Waiter: Fresh from the oven.

Adam: The raspberries with crème fraiche?

Waiter: They're ready and waiting.

Adam: Oh, good. Oh, the music -- do you have any country? That's her favorite.

Waiter: Yes, I'll see what I can do, sir.

Adam: Ok. Nothing too twangy.

[Waiter chuckles]

Krystal: What is all this?

Adam: Krystal, only the best, for -- for my dates.

Krystal: Well, isn't this special? You and me, and baby makes three.

[Adam and Krystal chuckle]

[At the boathouse, Ava coughs, sniffs, and finds J.R. in the bushes]

Ava: J.R.? J.R.! J.R. Hello?

J.R.: Ava? What are you doing in my bedroom?

Ava: What happened? Are you ok?

J.R.: Oh --

[J.R. chuckles]

J.R.: Oh, just enjoying some nature.

[J.R. chuckles]

Ava: You're drunk. From last night?

J.R.: Well, can't a guy just get some fresh air?

Ava: You reek.

J.R.: Yeah, and under that wig, you're still bald.

[J.R. laughs]

J.R.: Yeah, you give me a hand.

Ava: Get away from me.

J.R.: What?

Ava: You heard me. I said get away from me.

Kendall: I didn't mean that -- that you did this. I mean, obviously, you didn't. We both had our part in this.

Zach: Hey, it's all right.

Kendall: No, no, this -- this dream was really weird, Zach. I -- I was -- I was running -- I was running from Greenlee, and she -- she shot me. And -- and -- and then I fell on the ground, but then the next thing that I knew, I had the gun, and I shot Greenlee, and she was lying there bleeding. And -- and it turns out that I was the bad guy. I was the one who -- who -- who did the damage.

Zach: Hey --

Kendall: I --

Zach: You're not the bad guy, Greenlee's the bad guy. She can't hurt us now.

Kendall: No, would you please -- quit saying that, ok? After what we did to her, how can you promise me that -- that we're going to be safe?

Zach: We have security.

Kendall: No, but she could plan something, Zach. She could plan anything.

Zach: You know what I think? Let me take you to the cafeteria, and I'll buy you breakfast.

Kendall: No, I'm not hungry, ok? I'm fine. I don't want to leave my boys.

Zach: You got to eat.

Kendall: You're right. You're right -- yeah, I do need to eat. Why, you -- you just -- you have all the answers, don't you? You are always so calm and so collected, and -- and you're always right. And you always -- you -- you always know what's best for me, don't you?

Zach: I'm not doing that with you.

Kendall: I mean, I can always count on you. You always make things work, don't you, Zach? Well, where is she, Zach? Where -- where is Greenlee right now? All that control that you have -- where's your control now, huh? Why in God's name did you let this happen?

[Zach sighs]

Zach: I understand that you're angry because we both made moves, and we didn't consult each other. And this is the fallout. This is what this is.

Kendall: Oh, really? Ok, well, this wouldn't be the first time that you haven't consulted me, and you did something behind my back. The blackout -- remember that? Remember that nice little fun blackout? You did that. We're here right now because of that night. We are here right now -- everything is happening right now because of you. This is your fault.

Greenlee: So, how long are you going to be gone for?

Aidan: Um -- I got a lot to do. The first order of business, though, is checking out Kendall's computer -- see if I can find that zombie program that she used to plant that fake diary on your laptop.

Greenlee: Great. Sounds like a piece of cake.

Aidan: Well, the hard part's going to be getting past Zach's alarm system. But once I've done that, I should be able to trace everything back to Kendall. The diary, the chloroform, the -- the plane tickets. You know, the phony birth certificate, all of it.

Greenlee: All right, well, all in a day's work. Huh. Or week's.

Aidan: Listen, Greenlee, I'm going to be back as soon as I can, all right?

Greenlee: Yeah.

Aidan: My friends in Canada are going to take good care of you.

Greenlee: You know, I can take care of myself. I can just stay here.

Aidan: No, you can't do that. I want you safe. Canada is safe.

Greenlee: How soon until you have to go?

Aidan: I have to go now.

Greenlee: Oh. Great. Well, what a relief. I mean, what's a girl got to do to get you out of this place? I mean, I need to fix it up. I got to strip the curtains and the beds, and I got to put some bars on the window, so it'll look like cell sweet cell.

Aidan: Come here. You're going to be fine, all right? I'll be back soon.

[After going out the door, Aidan returns for more kisses]

Hannah: So, this fairy-tale ending -- did you ride in on a white horse?

Tad: You don't want to talk about this.

Hannah: No, I actually do.

Tad: Nah, come on, it was 20 years ago. And it wasn't a fairytale. I mean, Dixie and I, we were -- we were friends at that point. Actually, she was -- she was married -- to Adam Chandler.

Hannah: Poor woman.

Tad: You have no idea. You see, she was also pregnant at the time with his son, J.R., and -- well, what can I say? Adam, being Adam, decided it was a good idea to have his perfectly sane wife committed.

Hannah: To an asylum?

Tad: Mm-hmm. It was his idea of getting full custody.

Hannah: Oh, my God.

Tad: Yeah. He's a real jerk. So anyway, I found out about it, and so I saddled up and rode in there, swept her off her feet -- well, it didn't make sense for us to come back to Pine Valley immediately, so we sort of hit the road for a while. While we were out there -- you know --

Hannah: True love.

Tad: Did you -- you find true love after you broke up with Zach?

Hannah: Well, no. No, not once.

Tad: Come on.

Hannah: No, I didn't.

Tad: A girl like you? Come on --

Hannah: No, you know that saying that you can't miss what you've never had?

Tad: Sure.

Hannah: They're wrong. You sure as hell can.

[Music plays]

Krystal: Yes. Oh, thank you.

Waiter: Mm-hmm.

Adam: Orange juice?

Krystal: Sure. Hmm.

Adam: Krystal?

Krystal: Ah. I hope Jenny didn't throw a wrench in your plans.

Adam: Of course not.

Krystal: Really? Oh, come on now, Adam. You didn't give Jenny a lick of thought.

Adam: All right, all right, I admit it. I assumed, when I invited you to breakfast, you'd understood that it was a date.

Krystal: Intimate and romantic?

Adam: All of the above.

Krystal: Huh. Well, that's very nice, Adam. And I am all for romance, but you know that we are a package deal. Yep. Jenny comes first, always.

Adam: Of course, she does, and I'm thrilled that she's here.

Krystal: Because, you know, this is her favorite time of day. She's sort of a morning girl.

Adam: Ahem -- perhaps you didn't know, the hotel has an excellent nanny service. If we could -- I could arrange for one, and little Jenny could eat and play and have fun.

Krystal: Oh, no, no, she's -- she's fine.

Adam: Perhaps you didn't understand that I've made a reservation for the Presidential Suite.

Krystal: Oh. The Presidential Suite, huh? How -- thoughtful.

Adam: Remembered that you're kind of a -- a morning kind of girl, too.

Krystal: You dog. I -- I knew it, Adam. All this noise about wanting to be with Jenny -- you just wanted to get lucky with her mama.

Singer: Until the morning

J.R.: What are you looking at?

Ava: You are a mess.

J.R.: Well, you'd be the expert. You tripped on me and half drowned yourself.

Ava: You -- you smell like --

J.R.: I know what I smell like. Someone spilled a drink on me.

Ava: Yeah, more like it's shooting out of your pores.

J.R.: Well, if you let me go by you, I'd go home and take a shower.

Ava: Or just grab another beer, huh? For breakfast? Keep the buzz going?

J.R.: Yeah, why shouldn't I? Why are you all up in my business, anyway? Don't you have someplace you need to be?

Ava: J.R., what happened to putting everything into the network, huh? Trying to prove yourself to your dad? What if he saw you like this?

J.R.: Oh, will you shut the hell up? I had some minor setbacks. My talent bailed and the funding tanked.

Ava: So you can just get drunk?

J.R.: It was one time.

Ava: Yeah. It's always just one time, and then it's another time and then another time, and then it's morning and then it's afternoon, and who -- who the hell cares what time it is?

J.R.: What's your problem?

Ava: Look, I don't have a problem, ok? Go get drunk. Go stay drunk, for all I care. But just don't come around me. And are you a mean drunk, or are you just -- are you just pathetic?

J.R.: Oh, God, you've totally lost it.

Ava: "Come on, pretty girl. It's been a rough week. Just a little fun. Pretty please?"

J.R.: What are you talking about?

Adam: That wasn't a pickup line. It's the truth. I've grown very fond of Jenny.

Krystal: Mm-hmm. Yeah. You played a pretty good game when you were pretending to be Stuart. All those goo-goo eyes that you made at Jenny were just as fake as the smile you slapped on your face every time you got stuck alone with her.

Adam: Being there, with you and Jenny and Colby made me wish for the family that we used to be.

Krystal: Oh. I think you're talking about the family without Jenny.

Adam: I mean the one where we're all under one roof, and happy. And I would dream of those days coming back again. And there'd certainly be room for Jenny. What's not to love? She's adorable.

Krystal: Yeah. Yeah, she's real adorable when she's crying all night, tossing her cookies --

Adam: Well --

Krystal: Pooping her pants.

[Adam chuckles]

Krystal: You see? That.

Adam: No, what, what?

Krystal: No, that -- that -- that save-me-from-the-poop look.

[Adam laughs]

Krystal: I'm serious, Adam. Come on, it can't all be candlelight and roses. You know? I'm -- I'm -- I'm a mother.

Adam: I can handle that.

Krystal: Then don't try scoring some early morning hanky-panky and expect me to drop everything.

Adam: I did offer to -- to look for a nanny.

[Adam chuckles]

Krystal: Adam, this is serious, ok? I don't think -- I don't think a nanny is going to solve anything. There's more reality to this, ok? Jenny, this baby, the love of my life -- she's Tad's. Now, can you handle that?

[Music plays at The Comeback]

Tad: So, what you were saying about, you know, women --

Hannah: Ahem.

Tad: Woman -- women --

Hannah: Women.

Tad: Waiting their whole life to be rescued --

Hannah: Oh.

Tad: Are you in the category?

Hannah: Please.

Tad: Are you? Closet romantic?

Hannah: Oh, right, right, right. No, you know what? If somebody actually tried to rescue me, I would take a pool cue and whack them with it.

Tad: Note to self.

Hannah: Yeah.

Tad: Hey.

Hannah: Phone?

Tad: Yep.

Hannah: Yes.

Tad: So, where were we? Ah, yeah -- you as a damsel in distress.

Hannah: Ok, this conversation is over.

Tad: Tower, long hair?

Hannah: It's over. You know what I would love is another cup of coffee. Would you mind?

[Hannah giggles]

Tad: Nice segue.

Hannah: Here.

Tad: No, please, allow me to get you a whole pot.

Hannah: Thank you.

Singer: And nobody knows how

Hannah: "Exit 26 North, second left."

Singer: Television tells us all what's real

Tad: You know, unless you know the state, and the freeway, and you got one of the decoder rings that Aidan and I use, you're out of luck, sweetheart.

Hannah: No, I just was --

Tad: No. Don't. So, how much is Zach paying you to locate Greenlee?

Hannah: It's part of my job.

Tad: Got to give you minor points for admitting the truth. So, maid and hotshot CFO -- well, I know that that is on the resume, but I just wonder -- how about spy? Is that somewhere in the fine print?

Hannah: No, I am just the go-to girl for all sorts of dirt. And not just for Zach, but for Adam Chandler, too.

Tad: Adam?

Hannah: Yes. Why not? For the right price, services rendered. I'm just a whore.

Singer: And nothing

Aidan: Oh.

Greenlee: Hmm. You are amazing and brave and strong and brilliant.

Aidan: I bet you had your doubts when I told you to plead guilty, huh?

Greenlee: No -- yes, but then I trusted you quickly. I mean, come on, a dashing firefighter came and saved me.

Aidan: Well, you know what they say. Where there's smoke, there's fire.

Greenlee: And then you lifted me over your shoulder.

Aidan: What, like this?

Greenlee: Yes -- oh, Aidan -- oh -- come on.

[Greenlee laughs]

Greenlee: You know, you did save me. I mean, at first, the bars were closing in on me, and now -- now, you want to clear my name. And even after all of that, the best part -- you just came through that door.

Aidan: I heard you the other night.

Greenlee: When? What?

Aidan: The other night when you went to see Kendall, you thought I was sleeping. I heard you. I love you, too.

Kendall: All you had to do was nothing. If you hadn't flipped the switch -- if you hadn't turned off the power -- if you hadn't decided to play almighty Zach --

Zach: I thought we weren't going to play the "what if" game anymore.

Kendall: This is not a game, Zach.

Zach: No, it's not. It's the past. It's done. We worked through it together.

Kendall: "Together"? It's a little late to be a team, Zach. It's a little late when our children are in danger, because of something that we did, that you did.

Zach: Our children are safe.

Kendall: No, there is no such thing as "safe."

Zach: The security is here for Ian, and Spike needs to be in his own bed, so let's take him there so he can rest. Let's go get him.

Kendall: Oh, what am I supposed to do? Am I supposed to obey you and just stand here and listen to your rules? Do everything your way? What? Do you want me to shut up? Do you want me to go away? I know -- better yet -- do you want to send me away, just like you tried to do with Greenlee?

Zach: What do you want from me, hmm? Do you want me to fix this or just walk away from it?

Kendall: I would like for you to fix it. Can you do that, Zach? Can you please, please fix this for me, please -- because you always have to fix everything, and you always do fix everything for your little helpless wife, whether she wants it --

Zach: You got to stop right now.

[As music plays, Aidan and Greenlee undress each other and make love in the cabin]

Singer: You will never shiver in the rain. You will never have to live a life of shame. You will never turn out the light and know there's no one waiting watching over you

Singers: When the thunder comes, I'm there right by your side. When the water falls, I'm there to keep you warm and dry. I don't know if I have ever been this strong before

Singer: Your love makes me something more

Zach: What are you -- what are you trying to do, piss me off? Because you're doing it.

Kendall: I'm being honest, Zach. It's called "communication."

Zach: This is not communication, and I understand -- you're exhausted, and you're hungry.

Kendall: Oh, ok, so what -- you want to shove some food down my throat and tuck me in? Then maybe I'll be helpful and -- and quiet and manageable?

Zach: When have you ever been helpful and quiet and manageable? Trouble starts and this is what you do.

Kendall: My children are in danger --

Zach: Our children. I'm tired, too, and I'm hungry, too. But I will take care of this. I will take care of you, always -- only you.

J.R.: Alcoholism is a disease.

Ava: Right.

J.R.: Look, just because I had a few setbacks doesn't make me a nonstop drunk demolition man, ok? I fell off the wagon. I'll get back on, I get clean, everything's over.

Ava: Right -- you're such a liar. I don't ever see how Babe could have ever standed to be with you.

J.R.: God, here we go again. What is it with women?

Ava: You know, I feel sorry for Babe and -- and don't you have a little boy?

J.R.: Where do you get off?

Ava: You are a father. You're pathetic. Do your son a favor and leave him alone.

J.R.: It was one time, one time only, and it's over.

Ava: Yeah. Well, if you believe that, J.R., you're already a lost cause. How can you even stand yourself?

Hannah: Adam contacted me when I was away. He said he had a job. I told him I wasn't interested. But his incentive package was very hard to refuse -- blackmail.

Tad: Hmm. Sounds like Adam's favorite kind of incentive.

Hannah: Yeah. Well, I felt I had no choice and so I took the job.

Tad: Which is?

Hannah: Which is get rehired by Zach and work from the inside to get Adam's money and company back.

Tad: Wait -- wait a minute. Why -- why -- why is Adam's new mole working with Zach to nail my partner and Greenlee?

Hannah: Ok, you know what? Zach and I have history.

Tad: Which doesn't count for much considering the fact you're prepared to betray him.

Hannah: You know what? That -- that's not true. You know, when Zach needs my help, I give it to him -- no sex involved. I guess that still makes me a whore.

Tad: What a mess.

Hannah: Look, I don't -- I don't want to do this anymore. I mean, don't you think it's hard enough to pretend that nothing matters? I'm tired of hating myself.

Tad: What is it? What exactly has Adam got on you?

Hannah: Something that would hurt Zach, and -- actually, it would hurt you, too.

Tad: Me? I can understand Zach, but -- what could you possibly have done that would hurt me?

Hannah: I slept with the man who murdered the love of your life -- Zach's father. And Adam won't let me forget it.

Adam: Of course, I can deal with -- with Jenny being Tad's child.

Krystal: That's easy to say over a nice breakfast. But every day, day after day, looking at Jenny --

Adam: You're making too much of this.

Krystal: Well, no. What -- what about when -- when Jenny calls Tad "Daddy"? What are you going to think? How's that going to make you feel?

Adam: Why are you doing this? I have overlooked your indiscretion, and I love you. Isn't that enough?

Krystal: Overlooking is just postponing the problem. Adam, I cheated on you. I got pregnant, I lied about it. And then you -- you -- you handed over my baby to -- to Janet. You tried to sell her to strangers.

Adam: I've apologized.

Krystal: Oh. Jenny is the living, breathing, gurgling embodiment of what we did wrong. So you look at her, and you tell me what you see, and you tell me if you can handle it.

Adam: What are you really asking me? If I could get past what you and I have done to each other? Or if you can?

Tad: You and Alexander Cambias, Sr.?

Hannah: Look, I know how it must sound -- that Zach went to college, I was pregnant, afraid, and so I went to Alexander for help. And he laughed at me, said I was trash and that he would throw me out with the rest of the garbage. And then he got that gleam in his eye and said I could stay if I slept with him, so I did. And he tossed me out, anyway.

Tad: So basically, you proved him right. It must've been a hell of a reunion when he showed up in Pine Valley.

Hannah: I felt so filthy. When I saw Alexander, I -- I didn't say anything, as -- as if ignoring it would make it all go away.

Tad: But then enter Adam Chandler.

Hannah: I can't let Zach find out. Please.

Tad: So, if Adam says "jump," you say "how high?" Well, you've apparently been a busy girl, because you don't mind getting your hands dirty for Zach while you're at it.

Hannah: You know what? Adam bought one part of me and Zach has the other.

Tad: What are you going to do?

Hannah: Well, I -- I won't tell Zach about Greenlee and Aidan. I won't stand in the way for another woman's rescue.

Tad: Thank you.

Hannah: And as for, um, you and I, I -- you have every right to hate me.

Tad: I got to get to work.

Hannah: Hey. I understand.

[When Adam tries to take her hand, Krystal pulls away and stands up]

Adam: What are you doing?

Krystal: You need to think long and hard -- about me, the baby, and Tad, whether you think you can build a life out of the ruin that we caused, if it's even possible.

J.R.: This whole preaching thing part of the new you? Because it really sucks.

Ava: Just leave me alone, ok?

J.R.: You think going all Stepford wife is going to change anything, huh? Because under that little wiggy wig of yours, you're still bald and tatted. Yeah, you heard me. And your fiancé -- he's still a psycho murderer. I'll see you around.

Tad: Hey.

Krystal: Hi.

Tad: You -- you and Jenny were out early this morning. Where'd you go?

Krystal: Breakfast.

[When the doorbell rings, Tad answers and finds Adam standing there with flowers in his hands]

Krystal: Uh -- ahem.

Man: J.R.?

J.R.: Oh, Brian.

Brian: Hey.

J.R.: How you doing?

Brian: Uh -- good -- great, actually. I'm one-year sober today.

J.R.: Oh -- wow!

Brian: Yeah.

J.R.: Wow. Uh -- congratulations.

Brian: Thanks. Uh -- you coming in?

J.R.: I'm just here for the free coffee.

Greenlee: It's weird. I've spent so much time living in the past. And then I was all about the future -- what I wanted, what I didn't want. But now I know. I want this. I want now.

Kendall: There you go.

Zach: War is over. I just need you to take a break.

Kendall: For my protection? So you can bring me back from the edge? Oh, well, Zach -- boy, poor you. You have just got so much work to do, so much work.

Zach: Can you please -- don't --

Kendall: No, you teamed up with J.R. You lied to me. You played some sick game with Greenlee and made us her target, ok? So your kind of protection, I don't need.

>> On the next "All My Children" --

Adam: Krystal and I want to be together.

Tad: Is that so?

Erica: Where is Zach now?

Kendall: As far as I'm concerned, he can stay exactly where he is, because I am done with him.

Man (to Ryan): I'm the guy that saw Richie Novak murder someone.
