[The basement door creaks open shining light on the captive J.R. and Amanda]]

Adam: Your father won't pay your ransom.

J.R.: You're lying.

Adam: Chandler, Sr., says you're not worth anything to him. He doesn't care if you live or die.

J.R.: You can't just leave us down here. No, you can't leave us down here!

[Greenlee's dream]

Greenlee: Why are you all here?

Kendall: We've tried everything, Greenlee, everything to get through to you.

Annie: You don't listen. You refuse to listen.

Ryan: We've moved on, Greenlee.

Greenlee: I deserve to be happy, too.

Kendall: You just won't accept it. We have new lives now.

Zach: New families. You leave.

Greenlee: I'm not going anywhere.

Ryan: Don't make us force you, Greenlee.

Zach: Either you leave, or we make you leave.

[Everyone presses against Greenlee until she falls off Fusion's roof]

Greenlee: No, no, no!

[Erica's dream]

Judge: Ms. Kane, Mr. Montgomery, your divorce is now final. Congratulations.

Erica: Is it too late?

Judge: America has voted. Their verdict? Ms. Kane, you must stay away from Mr. Montgomery for the rest of your life. No contact whatsoever.

[Judge pounds gavel]

[Holding her baby girl, Krystal sings]

Krystal: ♪ Stars shining bright above you, night breezes seem to whisper "I love you," birds singing in the sycamore tree, dream a little dream of me. Say nighty-night and kiss me. Just hold me tight and tell me you miss me. While I'm alone and blue as can be, dream a little dream of me. Da-a-dee da-da-da-da dee-da ♪

[Tad sits on the steps and looks into the camera]

Tad: Hey.

Krystal: ♪ A da-da-da da-da ♪

Tad: I was tossing and turning. Not the good kind, either. No, I just can't sleep. You? Well, what are you going to do? Normally, it is the time of night that that kind of thing happens, isn't it?

Krystal: ♪ Da-dee-da-da-da ♪

Tad: You look in the darkness, you visualize your own dreams. Or maybe you do fall asleep, nod off and get whisked away to some fantasy dreamland you have absolutely no control over, you know? A paradise full of beautiful women, and you're the only guy. And, well, you -- you don't want to brag, but the natives need your attention, you know what I'm saying? Or maybe -- maybe you're not so lucky and it's some personal hell that only that late-night burrito can cook up. And when you wake up, it's always in a cold sweat. And you swear you're never going to fall asleep again. Or maybe you're really lucky, and you roll over. You bury your face in the pillow, willing that dream to come back. You know, the special one. Even for a few more precious minutes. No, the line between fantasy and nightmare is a tight one. I should know, because I've been walking it for years. I mean, think about it this way. Even though you know somewhere in the back of your head that it's not really real, right? I mean, you're not really in Barbados. You're not really trapped in that elevator or, God forbid, it's a small world after all. You're not standing naked backstage at your high school reunion. You could be. I mean, everyone's in the same boat, right? Everyone is just a few nights away. A few decisions, a couple of mistakes, one lucky move or two. No, those fears and dreams, they're born from something real. All the hopes and the fears, the frustrations, everything that runs in the background as you go about your day.

Krystal: ♪ Da-da-dee da-da-da-da ♪

Tad: We're just living our lives. Yeah. Just praying our nightmares never come to pass and praying all our dreams do.

Krystal: ♪ Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you, sweet dreams and leave our worries far behind you, but in your dreams whatever they be, dream a little dream of me. Da-da-da-da-da ♪

[Music plays in Erica's dream]

Josh: Good evening, ladies and gentlemen! And welcome to "Erica Kane's Million Dollar Man Countdown."

Kendall: You followed the story on TV and read all about it on the Internet. Just who is this man who offered a cool million-dollar charitable donation for our mother's divorce to become final?

Josh: You've seen Erica invite this man to reveal himself. Tonight, ladies and gentlemen, that man has finally come forward.

Kendall: But not just one man.

Josh: That's right, Kendall. All three millionaires, maybe even billionaires --

[Audience gasps]

Josh: Are here tonight, competing for the chance to become Erica's next husband once the divorce is final. And the minutes --

[Clock ticks]

Josh: Are ticking down. Erica, are you ready to meet your future Mr. Kane?

Erica: I'm ready.

[Applause]

Josh: Meet William Bates, America's richest man, developing the world's most popular software in existence.

Kendall: Not only that. He donates millions of dollars to charity each year.

Erica: I can't believe you're here.

William: The most desirable woman on the planet? How could I not be?

Josh: Bill, what would you like to say to Erica?

William: Your photo is on my screensaver. You won't regret choosing me.

Erica: I am so flattered. Thank you for participating.

[Applause]

Kendall: We've got for you suitor number two. Mother, meet Robert Canyon, a well-known political figure. He is currently running for the president of the United States of America. Robert Canyon is campaigning for Erica Kane.

Robert: When I look at the qualities that you want in a husband, I think about honesty, trust, a strong bond. I can be that man for you, Erica. I can be your match.

Josh: Take the prize or move to door number three, Erica.

Kendall: Our final contestant for Erica's lucky number 11 wedding.

[Applause]

Kendall: Known as Mr. McDreamboat on a very popular hospital TV show -- mother, if you don't want him, I'll take him.

[Audience laughs]

Josh: Known for his charm as much as his great hair --

Mr. McDreamboat: I'm not going to throw a lot of words at you, Erica. I'm prescribing an immediate engagement. A huge wedding, Stat.

Erica: What a fabulous offer.

Josh: It's time to make your choice, Erica. Who will replace Jackson as your next husband?

Jack: Stop the clock.

[Music and clock stop]

Jack: She's already chosen.

[As Jack kisses Erica, the phone rings and wakes her up]

Krystal: Sweet dreams that leave all worries

Erica: Hello?

Jack: I know you're thinking about me, too -- and our kiss.

Krystal: Whatever they be dream a little dream of me

[Carrying her coat and large purse, Julia walks into Wildwind's living room where Jamie and Jonathan are asleep with the TV on]

Actor: You around front, I'll take the back.

Second Actor: What if he has guests?

First Actor: Surprise is our best bet.

[Door opens and footsteps sound]

Actor: Clear.

Second Actor: LAPD.

First Actor: They're not here.

Second Actor: They have to be.

First Actor: The place is empty, man.

Second Actor: Find them.

[Julia picks up the remote and changes the channel]

TV Anchorman: The forecast -- showers and thunderstorms today with strong south --

[Finally Julia settles on a channel showing a sonogram photo of a baby]

Man: At 28 weeks, brain surface convolutions begin. The fetus weighs approximately 2.4 pounds.

Julia: It's really happening. I'm having a baby.

Jamie: I'm sorry to be the one to have to tell you this. I don't see a baby.

Julia: What are you talking about, Doctor?

Jamie: You imagined it. You're not pregnant, there is no baby.

Julia: How do you explain this?

Jamie: I don't know. Indigestion? I got to go.

Julia: Doctor, where are you going?

Jamie: Study. Play some poker. Get a life.

Julia: Jamie?

Man: Finally, at 40 weeks, a healthy baby is born to the happy mother and father. The average baby weighs about 7 1/2 pounds and is 21 inches long.

[Upset, Julia turns off the TV and leaves the room]

["Dream a Little Dream of Me" plays during Jonathan's dream]

Lily: Hello, Jonathan.

Jonathan: I'm rebuilding our tree house. We can put it near your hollow tree.

Lily: What for?

Jonathan: For whatever you want. You can use it to get away from the noise or the people.

Lily: I don't need a tree house. And I don't need sunglasses or a handkerchief or earmuffs. All I need is you.

[Lily kisses Jonathan]

Jonathan: Ava?

Lily: I'm not Ava, I'm Lily.

Jonathan: I don't get it. Lily, you don't -- you don't like to be touched.

Lily: Ava taught me how to touch.

[While he and Lily are kissing, Jonathan suddenly wakes up very disappointed]

[Annie's dream]

Annie: Oh!

Ryan: You don't -- you don't understand, baby. Being with you, I understand now why I waited so long to get married, why I had to walk away from every other relationship, why I could truly never love anybody else other than you. Because I was waiting for you, my one and only wife. The only -- the only woman that I could ever truly love. My heart belongs to you.

Annie: You are the only man I have ever loved. You are the only man I could marry. You are my past and my present and my future. And one day, I will hold our child in my arms, look down on her, and know that she was created with love.

Ryan: She?

Annie: Our first child will be a little girl. I just know it.

Ryan: Let's name her Emma.

[As Krystal hums "Dream a Little Dream of Me", Annie turns over and puts her arm around Ryan]

Krystal: ♪ Dream a little dream of me ♪

[Kendall's dream]

Kendall: Thank you! Thank you, everybody, so much for coming. So, this week, Fusion has become the number-one selling cosmetics brand around the globe!

[Applause]

Greenlee: All thanks to her.

Kendall: And her, of course. We could not be the international presence that we are without my lovely partner. She gives me style, clearly, energy, and a big old headache.

Greenlee: Well, I could never have done it without her. Kendall is dynamite, brilliant, and a big fat pain in my ass.

Kendall: Oh, thank you. I would also like to thank my amazing husband, Zach, and our dear, close, family friend, Ryan Lavery.

Child: Mommy, Mommy!

Kendall: Whoa!

Greenlee: And make way for her biggest supporters!

Kendall: My son, Spike, and my lovely daughter, Amelia -- my true inspirations.

[Everyone applauds as an older Spike runs into Ryan's arms and Zach picks up his daughter, Amelia, while Kendall and Greenlee hug.]

["Dream a Little Dream of Me" plays as Greenlee dreams]

Ryan: Having my first child is the absolute best present that you could ever possibly give me. You don't understand. I want to renew my vows over and over and over and over. I want to give you a life of love and adventure and surprises.

Greenlee: I love our life together. And I love the family we've created.

Kendall: Spike misses his mommy. Here's baby Spikey. Here you go. Here's Mommy. All right.

Greenlee: Oh.

Kendall: You've been so amazing to me, Greenlee. I feel so lucky to have you.

Greenlee: Thank you, Kendall. Thank you for being here.

Kendall: I only hope that my baby will turn out as beautiful and perfect as yours.

Ryan: I never knew it could be this great -- being a father, having kids to come home to, play catch with in the backyard. You turned me around, Greenlee.

Greenlee: You will be the greatest father to our son. And to all the children we're going to have.

Ryan: I love you. I love you and our son.

[As Ryan kisses Greenlee, he and the baby disappear]

Greenlee: Ryan? Ryan? Spike? Ryan? Ryan! Spike? Kendall? Where are you? Don't leave me! Don't leave me alone! Ryan! Ryan! Oh --

[The sound of Greenlee crying in the night wakes up Kendall and Annie]

Ryan: What is it?

Annie: Did you hear something?

Zach: You all right? Is it the baby? What's going on?

Kendall: No, I -- I thought I heard somebody crying. I don't know, I guess it was just a dream.

Zach: Go back to sleep. Come on.

Kendall: Ok.

[As Krystal hums "Dream a Little Dream of Me," Greenlee pulls her blanket closer and continues crying in her bed]

Greenlee: Oh --

Krystal: ♪ Dream a little dream of me ♪

Adam: You're not my son. You're nothing. You don't deserve the Chandler name.

J.R.: I'm not your son. I'm not a Chandler. I don't want to be a Chandler. I'm going to change my name legally. It's time I acknowledge who I really am, who I've been all along -- a Martin.

Tad: He's a Martin.

J.R.: You're a Martin.

Little Adam: I'm a Martin, too.

[In J.R.'s dream, he joins Joe, Tad, and Jamie in a little song-and-dance act using black canes and hats]

J.R.: [Irish accent] ♪ My name is Martin, and I'm proud to say the Martins are special in every way ♪

Tad and J.R.: ♪ Anywhere you go, you're going to see a member of the Martin family tree ♪

All: ♪ Everybody wants to be a Martin. We're so wonderful, original, and true. Everybody wants to be a Martin. Don't you wish that you could be one, too? Oh, don't you wish that you could be one, too? ♪

Krystal: Hold up, boys. What about us?

Colby: We're Martins, too!

J.R.: Come on, Colby. Five, six, seven, eight --

[Everyone joins the act, even baby Jenny wearing a cute little back hat of her own]

[The happy song slowly turns eerie as Adam dreams that J.R. is lying on the floor with blood dripping out of the side of his mouth.  Suddenly, Adam wakes up and calls out for his son.]

Adam: J.R.!

[Jenny cries]

Colby: Oh.

Krystal: Oh.

Colby: And how's our baby doing?

Krystal: Oh, she is one colicky little baby, that's for sure.

Babe: Think we can survive on two hours of sleep?

[Jenny continues crying]

Krystal: Oh, I'll tell you what. We walk and we rock --

Babe: Yeah, we swing and we sing all night long.

Krystal: Yeah. Well, it's not going to be the first time I saw the sunrise from that window, that's for sure. Babe, you go on to sleep. I got it covered.

Babe: Oh.

Krystal: Now, Colby, good night.

Colby: No, no, no, I'm going to stay. I can totally help.

Krystal: No, you've got school tomorrow. You got finals, don't you?

Colby: Yeah, but a little coffee, and I am perfecto, ok?

Babe: No, really --

Colby: All-nighters are my --

Babe: Stop. Don't worry about it. I'm going to be up. You need to be studying.

Colby: No, it's one night. I'm fine.

[Krystal sighs]

Krystal: Ok. You can stay. But we're going to do shifts, and I'm going to go first, so you two go to bed, ok?

Babe: Ok.

Colby: Ok.

Krystal: Hurry up before I change my mind.

Babe: Hmm.

[Krystal hums as someone knocks on the door]

Krystal: What the devil --

Adam: Krystal --

Krystal: What do you want?

Adam: I need -- I need to talk with you, to hear your voice -- to be with you.

Krystal: And why should I believe you?

Adam: I've made so many mistakes. And I regret every one of them. But please believe me, I love you. I always have, and I always will.

[When Krystal removes the chain from the front door, Adam enters her condo]

Adam: Thank you. Oh, no, no. I'm not going to hurt the baby. She's beautiful. She looks just like her mother.

Krystal: What are you pulling?

Adam: No, I'm not pulling anything. It's my heart, Krystal. It's in terrible shape. The only thing that would help my heart is you. My heart needs you. I need you. I still love you, Krystal. I always will. Always. My heart needs you.

Adam's voice: I need you.

[Adam suddenly disappears and Krystal finds herself alone again]

Krystal: Yes, dream a little dream of me. Oh, God help me, Jenny. I can't get Adam Chandler out of my mind.

[Krystal hums "Dream a Little Dream of Me" as she turns out the light and goes to bed]

[As Michael Kisur sings "Undefeated," Colby takes her turn walking the baby while thinking of Sean locked up in jail]

Babe: Good night, Jenny. Sleep. Dream. You're going to be all grown up before you know it. Then you'll be in school. And you need to remember to soak up all the learning that you can while you're there. It may not seem all that important, but that diploma is more than just a piece of paper.

[Music plays as Babe imagines herself at her graduation ceremony]

Babe: Success isn't the 3 Rs. It's about the 3 Bs. Live by the 3 Bs, and you will do great things. You will be successful. And you'll enjoy the heck out of life. Be present, be honest, be passionate.

[Applause]

Babe: Oh --

Jamie: I am very proud of you, Babe.

Babe: Thank you for all of your help, because I wouldn't be here without you.

Jamie: No, no, no, this was all you. And I loved your speech, by the way. I plan to live by the 3 Bs from now on.

Babe: Huh.

[As Jamie pulls Babe to him and kisses her passionately, he wakes up and thinks of her]

Krystal: ♪ Say nighty-night and kiss me, just hold me tight and tell me you'll miss me. While I'm alone and blue as can be, dream a little dream of me ♪

[Krystal's voice hums "Dream a Little Dream of Me"]

Tad: Hey, morning. [Irish accent] Would you like a cup of joe? [Normal voice] No? No problem. It's just as well, because I make lousy coffee. You know, it's funny. After our talk last night, I had a dream, you know? About my daughter, Kate. Actually, who am I kidding? It's the same dream I have every night. There's a knock at the door. I open it. She's standing there. She throws her arms around me and says "Daddy, I'm home." And I know it's her, because I can see Dixie in her eyes. And then I wake up, like every other morning, and I don't have my daughter back. I'm helpless. Powerless. Because I haven't got the slightest idea of how to make my dream come true.

[Krystal finally stops humming and picks up the newspaper at her door]

Krystal: Oh. Hmm.

Colby: Oh. I need to stop at home and check on Dad.

Krystal: Bye.

Babe: Good morning. So the pirate treasure is right here. Is it right here?

Little Adam: No.

Babe: What did you do with it, huh? What did you do?

Little Adam: It's in that chair.

Babe: It's in the chair, really?

[Babe giggles]

Little Adam: Yes.

Babe: Do you miss your daddy?

Little Adam: Yes.

Babe: Yes? Well, you know what? He's still on his trip, but I we're going to hear from him soon, sweetheart. How about we draw him that picture today, ok?

Little Adam: Yes.

Babe: Ok.

J.R.: Oh.

[J.R. groans as he wakes up and stretches]

Amanda: Oh --

J.R.: Good morning. At least, I think it's morning.

Amanda: Oh, we're still here. Oh, God.

J.R.: Yes, we're still here. Were you expecting someone else?

Amanda: I don't know how much longer I can take this. Oh, God -- do they really think they can get away with this?

J.R.: Yeah, I don't have an answer for that.

[Amanda sighs]

Amanda: Well, will we ever get out of here? Do you know that answer?

J.R.: We have to.

[J.R. kisses Amanda reassuringly

[As Adam thinks of his son lying dead on the floor, his phone rings]

Adam: Hello?

Man: Good morning, Chandler. Sleep well?

Adam: Where's my son?

Man: We'll get to that. First, you pay up. 100 million wired to our account. You have 36 hours.

Adam: I can't get that kind of money together in 36 hours.

Man: You're Adam Chandler. Make it happen. If you don't, your son is dead.

[Phone disconnects]

Julia: Hey, Kathy, we need to leave, honey.

Jamie: Hey. I'm sorry I fell asleep on the couch last night.

Julia: Oh, no worries. I was wrecked after my shift. I went straight to bed.

Jamie: Oh, well, then this is good morning and have a great day.

Jamie: What's wrong?

Julia: Ahem. Jamie, we need to talk about us.

Jamie: That's not good.

Julia: Oh, there's my girl.

Kathy: Ready!

Julia: All right. Well, let's -- let's go, huh? We'll talk later. Ok.

Erica: No word yet from our million dollar man? All right. I've decided to go in a new direction -- for "The New Divorce." Of course, it's going to be as good as the other. Yes, it's going to grab ratings. It's a wonderful idea. It's a whole new twist. I want to give Jack hope.

Ryan: Oh! Oh, oh.

[Ryan laughs as Emma jumps on her parents]

Emma: Let's get Spike! Time for vacation!

Ryan: Oh. It is time for vacation, isn't it? Well, Mommy and Daddy are very, very excited, too. Wow, that was something, huh?

Annie: Mm-hmm.

Ryan: Ready to go?

Annie: Yes.

Zach: Good morning, sleepyhead. How are you feeling?

Kendall: What do you mean?

Zach: Well, last night you woke up. You thought you heard somebody crying. Ring a bell?

Kendall: Oh. Right.

Zach: Who was it?

Kendall: It was Greenlee.

Zach: Ahem. You let her get to you, and she'll hurt you again.

[Sitting on Fusion's rooftop, Greenlee holds the petition seeking full legal custody of Spike]

Greenlee: Last night was your wake-up call.

>> On the next "All My Children" --

Erica: What better way to show how much I really care about this man than to find the next Mrs. Right?

Woman: I hope I'm not too late.

Adam: How about a proposition?

Zach: How much do you need?

Adam: 100 million.
