Greenlee: Admit it.

Kendall: What the hell is wrong with you? My God.

Ethan: You got a big punch for a little girl.

Kendall: No, what for? Why are you punching him? First, you kick me, and now you punch him? What, are you crazy?

Jack: Will you just let me handle this?

Greenlee: No! When you fingered Zach for Edmund's murder, the real killer stayed free. Your lie might cost Ryan his life.

[Removing the "condemned" sign from the door, Ryan enters his childhood home.]

Ryan: "As it was in the beginning." All right, Braden. I'm home.

[As Simone opens the curtains surrounding Ryan's hospital bed, someone grabs her.]

Simone: Oh! Oh.

Maria: You sick, lying, spite -- how do you hide it? How do you do it? How does Jackson not know how twisted you are?

Erica: How did Edmund hide the fact that he could walk? That wheelchair must have been such a nuisance.

Maria: You shut your mouth.

Erica: What is it, Maria? What is the matter here? You can't believe that the man you betrayed finally lied to you for a change?

Maria: You know, I could smack that smug look right off your face.

Erica: Well, I'd like to see you try.

Zach: What do you want?

Sam: I came to see the man who killed my father.

Zach: You don't belong here, Sam.

Sam: You do.

Zach: Go home. There's nothing for you here.

Sam: I've never seen a killer up close. I got to say I'm not impressed. But then it makes sense if you have to off somebody just to get a date.

Zach: Go home, boy.

Sam: It didn't work, you know. You can't have her. Maureen? That is what you called her when she didn't know her real name, right? You can never have her again. My mom hates you now.

Zach: She should. You should. But don't blame her for this. I take all the credit.

Maria: Does Jackson know?

Erica: About Edmund walking?

Maria: No, about you and Zach, how you threw yourself at him in Vegas and you wanted to sleep with him so badly.

Erica: You've really lost your mind.

Maria: Yeah, and that Zach just isn't to liquored-up has-beens, so he rejected you, and that threw you completely over the edge.

Erica: You know very well that never happened.

Maria: Really? Just like none of the filth you spew about me ever happened? But reality has never stopped you before, Erica.

Erica: Gee, I don't know, Maria. It seemed pretty real to me when I caught you and Zach in that clinch in the graveyard.

Maria: One moment. You saw a second of time, Erica, something that was not even any of your business.

Erica: But it was Edmund's business.

Maria: No, Edmund loved me. I loved Edmund. I stood by -- no, you listen to me. There was no infidelity. There never was infidelity. You were just freaked out because we managed to do something that you couldn't manage with God knows how many husbands that you've had, and that made you nuts, so you had to poison my marriage and you had to poison it even now that he's in a coffin. What kind of pathetic woman are you?

Erica: No, you want pathetic? You believe Ethan when he says that his father murdered your husband. You just buy it. You know why? Because you just take it for granted that a man would kill to have you. It's your ego, Maria, that's pathetic. That's what's pathetic.

Maria: Zach did kill Edmund.

Erica: Ethan would say anything to stick it to mean Daddy. And you? You just buy it. Why is that, Maria? Do you have such a bond with Ethan? Is there some sort of connection between you and Ethan that we just don't know about? I mean, I know that you've already had brothers. So now have you moved on to fathers and sons?

Brooke: Huh. Looks like I got here just in time.

Ethan: Ryan might get hurt, so you punch me in the stomach?

Greenlee: Your fault, your gut.

Ethan: All right. Can I suggest you take your daughter elsewhere and calm her down?

Greenlee: Calm down? Calm down?

Kendall: Well, you can say it. Can you do it?

Greenlee: Zach Slater didn't kill Edmund.

Kendall: Ok, so we went to the funeral/bomb party for nothing? Greenlee, I'm sorry, it's terrible, but Edmund is gone.

Greenlee: Stop it, Kendall. You know what I meant. You've got a big fat epic hate for Zach. He said you were a fake, so how do you prove you're real? Send Slater up for life. Let daddums laugh that one off, right?

Kendall: Well, one week in the bin, she's got the psychobabble down pat.

Jack: Hey, hey, hey. Now, that's not even funny, Kendall.

Kendall: Yeah, you're telling me.

Ethan: No, no, no, no. Greenlee, I understand you're worried about your husband, and but if Ryan's brother wants him dead, then I'm worried, too.

Greenlee: My husband handed you an empire with a smile. You know what you owe him? Everything. But what do you do? You let the killer on the loose. The guy who shot Ryan, poison me, planted a bomb, killed Edmund Grey -- that guy is still out there because of you.

Kendall: Ok, hold on a second. This is Erica's crazy talk, not yours, all right? Give it back to her and leave us alone.

Greenlee: The killer on the loose framed you and Brit boy. How can that not tick you off?

Ethan: All right, ok, listen. Brit boy sincerely hopes that Braden fries along with the equally guilty Zach Slater.

Jack: No, that's enough. Greenlee, you're not even making sense at this point.

Greenlee: Braden's evil, and Ethan just --

Jack: You know, there's enough evil to go around in this town, it seems to me. Now, Ethan was in that stables. He saw a good man cut down. And he saw Zach do it.

Kendall: Yes, and thank you for making him relive the moment.

Greenlee: He's lying.

Jack: Greenlee, what exactly do you want here?

Greenlee: The truth. Make him say the truth.

Jack: He told the police what he saw. He's agreed to testify. Edmund was killed. He saw Zach do it. Right?

Ethan: Right. Right.

Jack: I mean, you saw Zach follow Edmund into the barn, you saw him get the shovel in hand -- or he picked one up along the way -- whichever.

Ethan: Shovel in hand.

Jack: Right, shovel in hand, and he came up in back of Edmund. Edmund turned around, saw him, tried to fight him off. He swung the shovel, hit Edmund in the skull. Edmund was killed. That is what you saw, right, Ethan?

Jonathan: That's good. Sneak up on the guy who got stabbed in the gut.

Simone: You know, you got this big hunky guy outside your door. Why would you jump anyone who's walking through it?

Jonathan: Because Braden snaked past everyone in town. If anyone could get past The Rock out there, it's definitely Braden.

Simone: Yeah, and if I were Braden, what were you going to do?

Jonathan: I was going to show you my stitches. What do you think I was going to do? I was going to defend myself.

Simone: Yeah, and how were you going to defend yourself? Were you going to choke the life out of him? Or wait a minute. I know. Maybe you'd tell him exactly where your other brother is.

Mrs. Lavery's voice: Give me a break, Ryan. No -- in, out, whatever. Just keep it quiet. Mommy needs her sleep. Braden's in charge.

Braden: Sure.

Ryan: Hey, Mom, you want a glass of water?

Mrs. Lavery: Just take care of Jonathan when he wakes up. Don't let him whine. I can't take the whining.

Braden: Two mutant sludge. Trade you for a Kiddo companion.

Ryan: She's drunk.

Braden: No duh, Ry.

Ryan: Why does she have to do that?

[Door closes]

Ryan: Because of him.

Mr. Lavery's voice: Braden, Ryan, where the hell are you?

Simone: How could you do it? Think about it. How could you protect that slimeball? He shot your brother, drugged his wife, and you let him -- no big deal. Ugh.

Jonathan: I thought I could stop him.

Simone: Yeah, well, you could have, you idiot. "Jonathan to Ryan -- Braden wants you dead." Four words. You could have choked on it the whole last month.

Jonathan: He's my -- he's -- he's my brother.

Simone: Yeah, well, he's a wack job.

Jonathan: I didn't plan it, Simone. I wasn't even conscious of it. I didn't think about it for a second. It's like it's hard-wired into my brain, ok? The only way for us to sur -- the only way for us to survive is to cover each other. I had to protect Braden the way that he always protected us.

Mr. Lavery: You boys playing patty-cake? Didn't I tell you to cut up those boxes and dump them in the trash?

Ryan: We did.

Mr. Lavery: There's two boxes downstairs. Now, you want to try that lie one more time, buddy?

Ryan: They're not trash. They're a fort. Shut up.

Braden: Shut up.

Mr. Lavery: You think the boss lets us live here because he likes us so much?

Ryan: No, sir.

Mr. Lavery: I bust my hump every day so that you useless snots can eat. And what do you do? You disobey me. And you make my house a mess.

Braden: It was me. I'm sorry. I left the boxes. I'll go get them. Ryan will help me. Let's go. Let's go, Ry.

Mr. Lavery: Too little, too late, buddy boy. Go get the belt, Braden. I'll teach you to disappoint me.

Ryan: No! No.

Mr. Lavery: Now!

Ryan: Don't watch. Close your eyes. Don't watch. Don't listen. Don't notice.

[Belt whipping]

Ethan: I never told you that Edmund tried to fight Zach off. I was very clear. It was a sucker hit.

Jack: Sorry. Sorry. I got it wrong.

Ethan: Former DA got it wrong? Sorry, counselor. This is a set-up to trap me in a lie.

Kendall: No. No, no, no, no. Jack would never do that. This is all part of Greenlee's Ryan drama. But you've humored her long enough, so why don't we just go? Let's go inside, please.

Ethan: Hold on a second. Good cop, bad cop -- is she part of the script? The punch in the gut -- was that part of the script?

Greenlee: Didn't it feel sincere? Let me try again.

Ethan: Listen, you think I'm lying. You wanted proof. You come to this man here who decides to give you a little bit of a hand, because you think I'm lying, too. Don't you, Jack?

Jack: Yes, I do.

Zach: You've heard enough. Leave it alone.

Sam: You killed him. You loved my mother so bad you couldn't let my dad live. Was she worth it?

Zach: Look at me. Look at me! Yes. I'm that sick. I'd kill a man just to get a woman.

Sam: My dad loved her.

Zach: She loved him back. Ticked me off.

Sam: But you already had her. Wasn't that enough? They say that you and --

Zach: They're wrong. She loves you, your sister, your dad. She told me to go to hell. You don't believe that, you're not as smart as I think you are.

Sam: You're a liar. Everything you say is a --

Zach: Ok, fine. I'm a liar. But believe this -- your mother didn't want me. She wanted your dad. And when he died --

Sam: When you killed him.

Zach: When he died, it broke her heart. If she loses you, too, then -- ah, what the hell. Not my problem.

Sam: He could have taken you. My dad. He too on the mob, he took down drug dealers, he could have taken you, even in his chair. Coward. Punk. My dad was a man, a real man, the best there ever was.

Erica: What are you doing here, Brooke? I mean, forgive me, but I can only accommodate one of Edmund's widows at a time.

Brooke: Erica, how is it that you love the sound of your voice so much, yet you never hear anything you say?

Maria: Oh, she hears every word. She loves the sound of every twisted little word. Oh, did you hear, Brooke? Ethan is a liar, Zach didn't murder my husband, and -- oh, and Edmund's a liar, too. He lied to me, he lied to all of us, basically, because he could walk. Did you know that? Evidently, he could walk. He just decided that he would stay in the chair and he would do the physical therapy and he would have the ramps and the frustration and all of that because -- oh -- I'm sorry, Erica, I forget. Why was it again? Oh, right. To hurt me, because I deserved that and so much more.

Erica: Very good, Maria. You got all of that right. You heard every word I said. So maybe you're not such a loser after all.

Brooke: You're Zach’s lap dog now, Erica?

Erica: Oh -- oh, that's funny. It's very annoying, but it's funny.

Brooke: Mm-hmm. Well, Zach started that sick rumor for the same sick reason he went after Edmund. And Maria checked it out, and Edmund's physical therapist said there was no real progress in his recovery, so --

Maria: I can't believe you're still trying to, after all these years, reason with the demented La Kane.

Brooke: And Ethan was in the stables. So why would he lie about what he saw?

Erica: You know what, Brooke? I really don't have time to go into this with you, so I'm just going to cut to the chase. Zach is in jail. He may stay there forever. That is Ethan's motivation -- a long, slow revenge on the father who rejected him.

Brooke: Forget Ethan. Edmund would not lie about walking, not to --

Erica: Not to you, Brooke? Maybe to his wife, Maria, but not to you?

Maria: Oh, my God. You know, I want to drop-kick you to Philly.

Erica: Maria, explain something to me. How is it after all these years you still hate me, but Brooke, the woman who knew you were alive, but didn't tell your husband, Edmund, how is it that Brooke is your trusted confidante?

Brooke: A man died and all you can do is torture his wife?

Erica: "Torture"? Please forgive me for speaking the truth about a dead man. Maria, you pushed Edmund over the edge with your constant betrayals. That is Edmund's why. As for Ethan, he's a Cambias. He will trample over anyone to get whatever it is he wants.

Ethan: Nice try.

Kendall: What is this? You missed too many father-daughter dances, so you thought you'd bond by turning against us? You. And you. Skip it.

Greenlee: No. No, you're going to listen to me. We want to protect you.

Kendall: From what? From a good, kind, and caring man? You want to protect me from finally having love for once? You know, this is the Greenlee we all know and loathe.

Greenlee: Look, you didn't hear what Lily said. She can't lie. She's not like us.

Kendall: Lily? Your source for info against Ethan is Lily? Greenlee, come on. Come on, she went through a flame-athon and totally shut down. Now it's her traumatized word against Ethan's?

Ethan: Jack, I handed you a killer. Why do you want to go and hand him back to me?

Jack: Ethan, I just want you to tell me the truth.

Ethan: So did the police, Jack, and I obliged.

Jack: Bianca is your partner. Kendall is --

Ethan: She's my partner.

Jack: She's your partner, fine. The point is I consider both those young women to be my daughters.

Ethan: I can tell just how much you love and respect Kendall.

Jack: If you turn out to be some sick liar, bent on revenge at any cost, I'll see to it you never get anywhere near my family.

[Door slams]

Ryan: Ah!

Aidan: Agh!

Ryan: God! What's the matter with you? I told you that I was going to handle this by myself!

Aidan: Well, I can't leave it alone. Braden's branched out and killed our friend Edmund. So here I am. It's my fight, too.

Tad: You know how I like being left behind. You don't have to throw me against the wall or anything. Just a hug's ok.

Aidan: Thanks for bailing me out back there, Tad.

Tad: You had him the entire time. Besides, I hate people touching my hair.

Ryan: So you -- you think that Braden killed Edmund?

Tad: Yeah, we do.

Aidan: We think Bobby saw Braden take that shot at you, muscled him for some cash, and pushed his luck.

Tad: Yes, Braden pushed back, leaving Bobby a sniveling ball of pulp. That's when Edmund picked up the trail.

Ryan: And Edmund doesn't snivel.

Aidan: So he ended up dead.

Tad: I know what you're thinking, Ryan.

Ryan: No, actually, you don't.

Tad: You can't do this. You can't go after Braden by yourself.

Ryan: My family, my problem.

Tad: The more personal you make it, the more likely you are to make a mistake. You're too close to this, no matter how long it's been.

Ryan: Five years, Tad. A gunshot wound to the gut, my wife was poisoned, my friend dead.

Tad: If your brother is out there killing people, you need us.

Aidan: We don't have the same investment in this that you do, so we can remain objective.

Ryan: Meaning what? You don't care what happens to my brother?

Tad: Edmund's dead. That's a nice way of putting it. You screw this up, it'll cost you your life.

Jonathan: What's wrong with you?

Simone: Excuse me?

Jonathan: Do I have to get killed before you believe me?

Simone: Yeah, you know what? We could give it a shot.

Jonathan: You know what? I need my rest. Bye. Agh!

Simone: Did you give Greenlee those wacky pills? Did you put them in her tea?

Jonathan: That was Braden.

Simone: Yeah, really? You didn't give him a little access?

Jonathan: I didn't know what he was doing.

Simone: Really? He didn't say, you know, "Yo, bro, I got to sleep in. Could you cover for me? Slip Greenlee her daily dose"?

Jonathan: I would never hurt Greenlee.

Simone: You let him do it, so why not take it one step further?

Jonathan: No.

Simone: No? No? No? You know, this sucks. When you really suck is when you lie and you -- you try to cover. The sad thing is, is that that's pretty much all you ever do.

Jonathan: Agh --

Simone: I know that you hated Greenlee. You couldn't hide it.

Jonathan: She's my brother's wife.

Simone: Exactly. Greenlee got Ryan, and little baby brother got jealous. I know what it's like to be jealous of Greenlee, all right? Face it, hell, the woman's fabulous. The difference is I might just, you know, try to swipe her boyfriend, copy the purse she has. Unlike you, I didn't try to make her take a dive off the rooftop and wait for her splat.

Jonathan: That was Braden.

Simone: Really?

Jonathan: Ok? It was Braden. He hates Greenlee, he hates her, and he hates Ryan, and I snitched him out, and he gave me this, ok?

Simone: You're still jealous of her, aren't you? Do you still hate Greenlee? Do you want her out of Ryan's life?

Erica: Maria, I tried. I tried to do you a favor. I tried to warn you of all the ugly facts that are out there, because the sooner you deal with them, the sooner maybe you could find some sort of peace -- I mean as much as you can after all you've done.

Maria: Oh, my God.

Brooke: You are hate and spite with an expensive haircut.

Erica: Yeah, that's right, Brooke, go ahead and coddle Maria. Coddle Maria, and maybe it'll make up for the fact that you married her husband.

Brooke: There's a special place in hell waiting for you. Come on, Maria.

Jack: I was DA for a long time, but I'll tell you something else. I was a damn good one. And I know you lied.

Ethan: Maybe I shave an inch or two off my height every now and again.

Jack: I don't know you if you lied about what it was you saw or how you saw it or whether you saw anything at all in that barn, but there's a lie in there somewhere. And I guarantee you, I'm going to find it.

Ethan: We've been here, Jack, you and I. Zach’s just playing you again. He goes to Erica, she goes scampering over to you, and, you, you in turn come down here to try and get between Kendall and me again.

Jack: Well, why don't you take the hint this time? You care anything for Kendall at all, you stay the hell away from her.

Ethan: Don't do this, Jack. You'll lose. And I don't just mean your berth at Cambias.

Jack: Are you threatening me? Are you sure you want to play it that way?

Ethan: Let's just call it a little friendly advice. You and Erica paint me to be a villain, and that future daughter of yours who you love so much -- you're going to lose her, and you're going to lose her forever.

Kendall: Get out. Go play with your friend Erica.

Greenlee: What, are you kidding me?

Kendall: Well, you seem to believe everything that she says.

Greenlee: I don't trust --

Kendall: Jackson has an excuse. Jackson is a man, and he loves her.

Greenlee: I don't trust Erica.

Kendall: Thank you.

Greenlee: I just think she's right.

Kendall: No, Greenlee, this is not about Zach or Edmund or anything else. This is my mother and her Cambias phobia. She wants Ethan gone.

Greenlee: So no way, no how? Ethan is absolutely incapable of telling a lie that puts Daddy in jail?

Kendall: No, of course he's capable.

Greenlee: Thank you.

Kendall: He just didn't do it.

Greenlee: What, because he said so? Can you say "sucker"?

Kendall: No, he didn't just say so. He swore to me it was the truth.

Greenlee: Chump.

Kendall: On our love.

Greenlee: Oh, crud.

Tad: We're not trying to prove anything. It's still your show.

Aidan: Yeah. You're the lead man on this one, Ryan. All the way. We're just hear as backup.

Ryan: And what if I say no?

Tad: I guess we'll have to follow you around like a couple of puppies. Look, no offense, but, you know, your former home really smells like hell.

Ryan: Perchloroethylene.

Aidan: Huh, that's what they all say.

Ryan: Dry-cleaning chemicals. It's from the place right below.

Tad: Huh. It's more like something crawled up here to die.

Ryan: It's in the walls. It's in the curtains. We sucked it in every day, every night.

Aidan: That might explain a few things.

Tad: Yeah, it certainly would, like how your brothers' brains ended up pickled and you turned out just fine.

Ryan: They didn't start out like that.

Tad: They never do.

Aidan: So why are we here? What are we after?

Ryan: This -- this is Braden's call. This is where it all began, so I'm here.

Aidan: Well, is it a dead end?

Ryan: I doubt it. Probably another clue around here, or big brother himself will finally show up.

Simone: So where's Braden now?

Jonathan: Probably out trying to nail Ryan. Ok? We weren't exactly -- we weren't exactly on speaking terms when he stabbed me. I didn't get a forwarding address.

Simone: You know, you can't even tell the truth to save your own sorry life.

Jonathan: Oh, fine.

Simone: "Fine"?

Jonathan: Fine, Simone. I'm jealous of Greenlee, ok? I'm so jealous of her I can't stand it when she's in the same room. When I'm out of here and I find Ryan, he's my brother second, Greenlee's husband first, ok?

Simone: Ok. Jeez, you are one big baby.

Jonathan: I didn't help Braden. I couldn't turn him in, though. I couldn't hurt Ryan or Greenlee, either. All right? I'm stuck. They're both my brothers. I couldn't pick one.

Simone: Ok, so let me give you a tip. You choose the one who's not a psychopath.

Jonathan: You think it's so easy?

Simone: Yeah, I do.

Jonathan: Walk away from someone who helped you like that? Snitch out the guy who took the beatings for you? Huh? You answer me. Ryan couldn't do it. Ryan went to jail for Braden.

Simone: Yeah, well, he got over it. You, on the other hand -- who knows?

Jonathan: You want to look inside my head? You want to see how sick, screwed up I am? Come here. Take a look. I went to the shrink, and we'd talk and talk and talk, and I tried to figure out why I've got all this rage inside of me and why I control women and why jealousy makes it so I can't think, Simone. Call me a head case. You can call me a loser. You know what? You can call me anything you want. I'm behind Ryan, and I will make sure that Braden never, ever hurts anyone again.

Simone: Yeah, well, the kind of help that you need –

Kendall: What is that "are you stupid?" Tone?

Greenlee: Maybe he lied, about everything -- about himself, about Zach, about his deep, profound love.

Kendall: Why, because no one can love me?

Greenlee: No, this isn't "is Kendall worthy of love?" This is "Ethan isn't worthy of you."

Kendall: Oh, you are driving me nuts, Greenlee, nuts. If Ryan said the sky was purple, what do you say? "Yes, of course, my husband, the flame of my heart, the love of my life. It has to be purple because you would never lie to me."

Greenlee: "Flame of my --"

Kendall: No, but then Ethan tells me he loves me and tells me what he saw and it's got to be a lie.

Greenlee: He hates his father and he wants to see him sizzle. There's no conflict of interest for you there?

Kendall: No, it doesn't matter. He can hate his father and still love me. I sat there and I talked to him and I said, "Listen, I would never judge you." I told him I would never judge him, and I wouldn't care if he lied about Zach. And then he told me again. He saw his father kill Edmund.

Greenlee: Ok. You doubted him, Kendall, and then all that went away when you looked into his eyes and he said all the words you were dying to hear?

Kendall: You know, you proved one thing today by you and Jackson ganging up on me and Ethan. We are -- we suck as friends, but we are amazing as enemies. So I say we just go with what we're good at. Now, get out of my house and get out of my life.

Jack: You know, I'm going to forget, for the moment, that you just threatened me, and I'm going to give you another chance. If you lied, tell me now.

Ethan: My father is in jail. Do you really think I'm so evil that I'm going to do that for fun?

Jack: For fun? No. For revenge, absolutely. But the truth always comes out, Ethan. You do know that, don't you?

Greenlee: Forget it. He's a Cambias.

Zach: The reason you loved your father --

Sam: Shut up.

Zach: Was the same reason I hated him. Smart and strong. And you're right -- he could have taken me.

Sam: You don't get to talk about him anymore.

Zach: You want good and decent, think about your father. You want evil, you remember me.

Sam: Oh, I won't forget you. But my mother will. You can count on that.

Zach: I tried to trick her, you know. Tried to trick her into being with me. She wouldn't have it, because she is just as good as your father was, just as good. Sam, I wish none of this would have happened. I'm sorry, more sorry than I can say.

Brooke: I wish I'd gotten there sooner and stapled Erica's mouth shut.

Maria: Hmm.

Brooke: As if Edmund would keep being able to walk from you.

Maria: Well, you know, as cruel as Erica is, it didn't start with her. It started with Zach. He was the one that said that Edmund could walk and that Edmund was the one who trapped us in that shed at the casino.

Brooke: A trap?

Maria: To try to catch Zach and me together, and -- it wasn't Edmund, though. It was Zach. I know it was Zach or one of his guys, or something, who did it. It -- and I kissed Zach, which is bad enough, but I never slept with him, which is -- I was faithful to my husband. I was faithful to my marriage. And what did that matter, though? They killed him, anyway.

Edmund's voice: I get to throw Slater in prison. And Maria? That lying cheat -- I don't care where she lands as long as it's not in my house.

Brooke: You have been full of surprises these days.

Edmund: You don't know half of it. You don't even know half the half.

Brooke: Maria?

Maria: Brooke? What is it?

Jack: So give me a kiss on the cheek --

Erica: Oh.

Jack: Ask me how it went, and then close your ears, because you do not want to hear.

Erica: Ethan stuck to his story?

Jack: Even worse than that.

Erica: Oh. We're right back where we started.

Jack: Now Kendall’s even more devoted, more invested. How dare we doubt the man she loves.

Erica: Oh. Well, all right, it's your turn. Ask me how it went and then close your ears.

Jack: Why? You've been here the whole time, haven't you?

Erica: You had a visitor.

Jack: I had a -- oh, that's right. I asked Maria to -- to come by.

Erica: She did.

Jack: And what did you do? Oh, Erica, please, tell me you didn't.

Brooke: Sounds like Zach is a man who knows how hard to push and then push some more.

Maria: Oh, yeah. He's the one who said that Edmund didn't love me. That was his whole new mission, that Edmund didn't want me and that the whole reason Edmund took me back was out of spite.

Brooke: But Zach didn't convince you?

Maria: Almost. He almost -- almost. There was a moment there that all that mattered really was Zach and the love that we had had.

Brooke: That's very compelling. But you didn't give in?

Maria: No. How could you even -- I -- I made a choice for Edmund. Edmund was my choice. I wanted to be with him for the rest of my life.

Brooke: Maria, maybe Zach was telling the truth.

Sam: I don't want anything from you. I just want to be there when they shoot you full of death.

Ethan: They'll think I'm a liar.

Kendall: They called you a fraud when you were a Cambias. And they thought you were the shooter when you were innocent. They've been wrong before. I believe you, Ethan. I believe that you love me. You saw Zach kill Edmund.

Ethan: They won't give up.

Kendall: I don't care. No one's going to change my mind, not Erica, not Jackson, not Greenlee.

Ethan: Your uncle, your mother, people you love --

Kendall: No, I love you, Ethan. I believe in you. I believe in us. And nothing will change that, ever.

Ryan: You got to be kidding me.

Tad: What's up?

Ryan: Braden gave this to me. The old man hated it. He used to tell us to shut off that racket.

Aidan: Your loving brother gives you a gift, makes your dad strap-happy?

Ryan: No, it wasn't like that. It used to be Braden's, and he knew that I got a kick out of it. And one day after, you know, Dad laid into me pretty good, Braden gave it to me -- flip off the old man. Yeah, eat this, old man.

[Ryan laughs as he turns on the old mechanical cymbal-clapping chimp who pops his eyeballs in and out, screeches, then flashes his teeth as a poisonous gas spews out into Ryan's face.]

Ryan: Agh!

[Ryan falls backward and lies unconscious on the floor.]

Aidan: Ryan!

>> On the next "All My Children" --

Brooke: Edmund and I had a pretty shocking talk right before he died, about you and Zach.

Kendall: I know you're telling the truth.

Ethan: There is something that I haven't told you.

Ryan: Braden?

Braden: Long time, brother.

Greenlee: What do you want?

Jonathan: You, Greenlee.
