Aidan: That was much better than the last time we kissed, but I think we can still improve on it.

Anita: I -- I thought that you were gone.

Aidan: Well, you thought wrong because I'm back.

[Anita sighs]

Aidan: Hey.

Aidan: You know, with a welcome home like this, I should go away more often.

Anita: Where did you go?

Aidan: I was on the trail of a bad guy.

Maria: Just go away, please.

Zach: No.

Ryan: You're Alexander Cambias' grandson?

Ethan: That's right.

Kendall: Wait a minute, that -- that means -- oh, my God, you're Michael Cambias' son?

Erica: I'm sorry for barging in. I -- I just had to come.

Woman: This is a group session.

Erica: Yes, yes, I know. I know what the group is about. That's why I'm here. I am a rape survivor.

Woman: It's an open group. You're welcome to join.

Erica: Thank you. Honey, I didn't expect you to be here. I mean, in the park, you said that you were through with therapy. I'm glad you're here, and I won't stay if you don't want me to.

Bianca: Mom, I -- I want you to be here.

Woman: Let's get started.

Bianca: Here, let's sit down.

Erica: Ok.

Woman: Let's introduce ourselves. I'm Colleen.

Second Woman: I'm Debra. I'm a rape survivor.

Third Woman: My name's Patrice, and I'm a rape survivor.

Fourth Woman: I'm Lucy, and I'm a rape survivor.

Fifth Woman: My name's Odette. I'm a rape survivor.

Erica: My name is -- is Erica, and I'm a rape survivor.

Bianca: My name is Bianca. I'm a rape survivor.

Colleen: Our rule -- what's said in group stays here.

Erica: I understand.

Colleen: We listen and respond honestly.

Erica: Should I speak first?

Patrice: You only have to speak if you want to.

Erica: Well, I don't -- I don't want to. I have to. I -- I have chosen to say nothing for way too long. I said that I was a rape survivor. That's not true. Not all of me survived. After I was -- after it happened, I buried the girl it happened to.

Bianca: Mom, it's ok. You can go on.

Erica: That -- that girl was violated on her 14th birthday. She's been buried all of these years. At first, it was -- it was easy. I just denied that she existed. But she wouldn't stay gone. And the more I tried to ignore her, the more she haunted me. And so when denial failed, I tried to bury her with pills and alcohol. I tried to bury her by pushing away everyone who loved me.

Lucy: Why?

Erica: I didn't know I had a choice. I thought it just had to be. I had to get rid of her because if she survived, then I couldn't.

Kendall: If you're Michael Cambias' son, nobody wants you here, so leave.

Ethan: I was hoping for a warmer welcome.

Kendall: Yeah, in hell maybe. Now, get out.

Ryan: Nice work, Kendall. Seriously. You know, screwed up the whole Generatrix deal, and then you turned the board against me -- no offense -- and then you dig up a Cambias. Wow, your desperation is really showing.

Kendall: No, wait, you think I had something to do with this?

Greenlee: Who else? You've got a good eye, though. I mean, he's hot. The accent's a good touch.

Simone: Yeah, it's working for me.

Kendall: Wait, you think I would do something this low, hire a man to impersonate Michael's son after what he did to my sister?

Greenlee: I'm surprised you didn't go all out, get someone that looked Michael, bring Michael here risen from the dead. Real show-stopper.

Kendall: No, I'm sorry, this is wrong. You have this all wrong.

Greenlee: I'm never wrong about you.

Ethan: Ahem -- but you're wrong about me.

Mr. Collins: Excuse me. We're in the middle of a meeting.

Ethan: Then my timing, ladies and gentlemen, is perfect.

Kristina: Is this another joke, Ryan?

Mr. Abbott: The vote for your ouster is still on the table.

Mr. Collins: Well, let's get the facts first. I want an explanation. We've been on the board for Cambias for years, and we've never heard of any grandson.

Ryan: Isn't it obvious? This is the latest in a long list of reasons that Kendall is a liability to this company. She's out to sabotage Fusion, all of Cambias Industries to feed a personal vendetta, and it's got to stop.

Kendall: Don't make this about business.

Ryan: Look, as long as I'm in charge, I'm going to protect this company.

Kendall: No, you just want to protect yourself. Ryan wants to get rid of me, but it's got nothing to do with Fusion or Enchantment.

Mr. Collins: And why is that?

Kendall: Well, he can't keep his eyes off me. We pass in the hallway, we huddle over a desk side by side, he can't take it.

Greenlee: Another reason Kendall should be fired. She's clearly delusional about my husband.

Kendall: Spoken by a woman who just can't handle the truth. You can't stand the competition, and your marriage definitely can't take the heat.

Greenlee: My marriage is fine.

Kendall: Really? Well, should we peek under the covers, see what's really going on there?

Jonathan: Their marriage is none of your business.

Ryan: You can see for yourselves that Ms. Hart is a negative influence to this company. I move for a vote to remove her as co-CEO, effective immediately.

Kendall: Fine. Go ahead, do it, but firing won't change a thing. You used to think their marriage was a lie? Well, now it's time to finally find out what's real and what's a big, fat sham.

Aidan: This is all very romantic. You got flowers, candles.

Anita: No, thank you.

Aidan: Something tells me I walked into a love ambush. Who rates the deluxe package?

Anita: Who have you been chasing all this time?

Aidan: Wow, yeah, they're tasty, man.

Anita: It better not still be Bobby.

Aidan: What, you think Bobby's my bad guy?

Anita: Well, you've tailed him all through Vegas.

Aidan: No, I tailed Erica. I saw Bobby because he just happened to be there.

Anita: Yeah, well, after you gave me the news, I filed for divorce.

Aidan: You blame me?

Anita: I -- I blame the situation.

Aidan: Yeah, a situation that Bobby got himself into.

Anita: Look, nothing happened with Bobby and Erica.

Aidan: I didn't say it did. Can we start over, my entrance, the bit about talking about making babies and my kiss, because that was a lot more fun.

Anita: It was a mistake.

Aidan: Didn't feel like a mistake.

Anita: I thought you were Bobby.

Aidan: Ouch. See, I'd be insulted, but then again, it is dark.

Anita: Look, you should go.

Aidan: So what happened to the divorce?

Anita: I tore up the papers.

Aidan: So you and Bobby are back together now, all the way?

Anita: Very all the way.

Maria: What are you doing here? What, did you follow me?

Zach: No, I didn't follow you.

Maria: Well, then what?

Zach: I know what happened here! I know what happened to you seven years ago to the day, and I came to see for myself.

Maria: To see what? You know, I don't appreciate being researched! I don't understand why you can't just leave this alone!

Zach: This is a big, cosmic joke, right? But it's not really that funny. I'm sorry about what happened to Edmund and I'm sorry that I've -- I've complicated your life and I'm sorry if I'm pushing you to this, that --

Maria: To what? You pushed me to what? You think I'm going to throw myself over this cliff again? No, I came here -- I came here to -- I came here to pray to God, not to take my life but to take my memory, because I don't want to be having these memories of you, Zach! I want to forget everything that happened with us. I want to forget the casita, the -- I want to take all these feelings and that's what I want to shove down this cliff! I want all these feelings to crash and burn.

Maria: I don't want to have these feelings, Zach. I shouldn't have to be lying and feeling guilty for something that Maureen did and felt, and I shouldn't have to because Maureen is gone now, so her feelings should be gone, too!

Zach: Well, they're not.

Maria: No, they're not, but you have no idea how much I have fought to get my life back. You have no idea what it's cost me.

Zach: Who you trying to convince? You? Me? What?

Maria: No, I love Edmund. I love my husband no matter what's happened to him, and he is all that I need and all that I want, and there's nothing that you're going to be able to do to change that!

Zach: Well, there was a time when I was all you needed.

Maria: That was a long time ago. That was a long time ago, Zach. And nothing that you can do or say -- you will never be the man that Edmund is!

Zach: Probably not, but you still love me.

Maria: I don't want to. I don't want to, and I don't understand why you're doing this, why you come here and you dump all this drama on me.

Zach: What do you think? You think I want this? I want this drama? You think I want this? No, I don't. I don't need it, either! And maybe there's more to this! Maybe there's more at stake than just you, your husband, and your perfect marriage!

Maria: Really? What is it? What is at stake?

Erica: I was raped on my 14th birthday because my father gave his permission to my rapist. The pain that I felt -- it left no room for anything else. I couldn't see past it. I didn't even want to try. I was too consumed by my own hurt to see the way I was hurting the people around me, people who only loved me. I don't want to do that anymore. I want to see past the pain now. I especially want to make amends to the people that I hurt, especially to my daughters. I hurt you, Bianca. I know that I hurt you so deeply, and your sister.

[Erica sighs]

Erica: When Kendall was born, I just made myself forget her. I buried her the way I had buried that 14-year-old girl. And when you were raped, and I found out that you were pregnant, I did the same thing. And when my father died, and I wasn't ready to face what he did, I ran. I ran from everything and everyone who loved me. I don't want to do that again. I never want to do that again.

[Thunder]

Erica: What I have to do is dig up everything that I buried. I -- I have to find the 14-year-old girl inside myself, and I have to feel what she felt. I have to feel the -- the shame that she felt when she was raped and the horror that she felt when she discovered that her father gave her to that monster, easily, like she was nothing. I loved my father more than anything in the world.

Bianca: I know, Mom. And I'm so sorry.

Erica: My father's business deal was more important to him than I was. What he needed was more important than what I needed. And so my father didn't protect me. He didn't even try.

[Thunder]

Erica: My father didn't love me the way I needed to be loved because he couldn't, because he put himself first. Oh, honey. When you lost your baby, when you needed me most, I stayed away. I treated you exactly the way my father treated me. I put myself first.

Bianca: No. No, Mom.

Erica: I was not there when you needed me. I didn't love you the way you needed to be loved. I am so sorry. Can you ever forgive me?

Anita: Now, come on, get out of here. I have to make everything perfect for my husband.

Aidan: All the way down to the wedding cake. He's a lucky guy.

Anita: No, I'm the lucky one.

Aidan: You sure about that?

Anita: Look, why are you doing this?

Aidan: He hurt you, Anita.

Anita: That was in the past, ok? Bobby and I, we love each other. We're going to make it work. But I need you to back off.

Aidan: I Can't. I don't like the guy and I don't trust him.

Anita: Yeah, well, you don't have to.

Aidan: Anita, he will hurt you again.

Bobby: You couldn't be more wrong.

Zach: I don't have any plans, and there's no --

Maria: Well, it obviously matters to you.

Zach: I'm trying to open a casino, and the gaming board's going to look at this with a microscope, so I can't afford complications, that's it.

Maria: Oh, that's it. You know, that's funny, because a lot of people might actually buy that. Oh, there's the look. The look where everybody's supposed to stop asking questions. I lived with you, I know you, and I know that this is about a lot more than business, so I want to know what it is.

Zach: Why can't you leave it alone?

Maria: Why are you really here? Was Ryan right? Are you here with some big secret that could hurt people in Pine Valley?

Zach: I don't want to hurt anybody.

Maria: Ok, but you know what, you did set yourself up, you know, like, right quick here in Pine Valley overnight. You settled right in, you made some friends, you made enemies, you volunteered to, you know, anchor the fundraiser for Bianca Montgomery. Wait, is that it? Your plans include Bianca?

Bianca: Mom, you have always loved me.

Erica: But not the way you and Kendall deserve.

Bianca: Don't say that.

Erica: Yes. It's true. And I have to face it. I am just like my father. I had the chance to protect my children, and I didn't.

Bianca: Mom, this is a totally different thing.

Erica: No. Look at Kendall. Look at her. She's spinning out of control all over again. She's terrified to trust anyone. The only thing that she knows that she can count on is rejection. And why? Because she couldn't even trust her own mother.

Bianca: That's not fair. Kendall came in on the attack. You've tried several times to get closer to her.

Erica: No, I can't excuse what I did. I was completely involved in my own pain. And now Kendall thinks the only way to get rid of the hurt is to hurt back. And you --

[Thunder]

Erica: Child of my heart -- I abandoned you, too.

Bianca: No, Mom. I pushed you away.

Erica: What choice did you have? What else could you do after the way I treated you? I should have been there for you. I should've protected you from so many things, especially Michael Cambias.

Bianca: You couldn't have.

Erica: I should have! I should have! Bianca, it is my fault. It is my fault that you were raped.

Mr. Collins: Ms. Hart, you reported to the board some time ago that the Lavery marriage was bona fide. Are you changing your story?

Ryan: Are you, Kendall?

Kendall: I'm just trying to make a point. There were questions about Ryan and Greenlee's marriage, but it's real. And so this Ethan walks in here, and we automatically suspect the worst of him, we attack him, but maybe he's real, too.

Greenlee: That's what you want us to believe.

Kendall: I didn't set this up.

Ryan: Maybe you did, maybe you didn't, Kendall, but the point is we can't believe a word that comes out of your mouth. So the sooner you're out of this company, the better.

Kendall: No, Ryan, you can't do this.

Ryan: You know, maybe we should move to another office. We'll have a preliminary vote, and then you can just take it from there. Start clearing out your things.

Kendall: Listen, I get why you think I would sabotage the Generatrix deal, but I swear to you I did not hire this guy to play Cambias' son. I swear to you, Ryan, I didn't.

Ryan: You have about an hour.

Greenlee: Use it to track down a good shrink.

Jonathan: And you -- why don't you catch the next flight back to England.

Greenlee: Put whatever Kendall paid you toward acting lessons.

Jonathan: Let's go.

Ethan: I am not an actor. My name is Ethan Cambias. I am the grandson of Alexander Cambias. I've never seen that woman before until today. And I won't leave until this is settled.

Ryan: Fine. Go ahead, prove you're the Cambias heir.

Ethan: So you're the guy who got it all?

Ryan: Yes, Alexander willed everything to me shortly before he died, so you're going to have to go through me to stake your claim.

Ethan: The mother who raised me died two months ago. My fill-in father's dead, too. Before she died, she told me where these were hidden. Until I read them, I had no idea I had another mother and father.

Greenlee: What is it?

Ryan: It's a birth certificate. "Mother -- Hannah Nichols," and "father -- Alexander Cambias, Jr."

Kendall: You're Michael's nephew?

Greenlee: Anyone can fake a birth certificate.

Simone: Or not. "Simone Cambias." It's got a kind of ring to it, doesn't it? Like a 10 carat ring thing?

Greenlee: You got sloppy, Ethan. There's no official seal here on your birth certificate, which means it was never filed.

Ethan: My birth mother, Hannah, never had the chance to make it official.

Greenlee: You're good. An answer for everything.

Ryan: Why didn't she file it?

Ethan: She was afraid.

Ryan: Of what?

Ethan: My grandfather.

Ryan: Of Alexander? Why?

Ethan: This is a letter my biological mother wrote to my birth mum, Edith.

Greenlee: Should be good.

Ryan: "Dear Edith, it's been six months since Ethans father died in that horrible car crash. I was hoping the connection to the Cambias family died with Alex, but it didn't. His father contacted me. Suddenly, Alexander cares about the grandchild he wanted me to abort. He says he wants to see Ethan, to get to know him. The truth of it, Alexander wants to take him away from me, turn him into a Cambias, and I won't let that evil man do to my boy what he did to his sons. But if I run with Ethan, Alexander will find us. You're my only hope. Edith, please take my son, raise him as your own until I'm sure it's safe, until I'm sure Alexander Cambias isn't a threat. Your grateful friend, Hannah."

Jonathan: A phony letter and a fake birth certificate. This proves nothing.

Ethan: See for yourself.

Jonathan: I don't have to. I know fraud when I see it.

Ethan: I'm telling the truth.

Jonathan: Yeah? Tell it to the cops.

Ryan: Hey, take it easy.

Jonathan: You can't believe him.

Ryan: Timing is a little fishy.

Jonathan: It stinks, all of it, right down to your phony accent. Why don't you get out!

Ethan: At the risk of repeating myself, I am not going anywhere. I'm here to claim everything that's mine, including the identity that was stolen from me at birth!

Erica: Because of me, you were assaulted.

Bianca: No.

Erica: You were violated by that evil man.

Bianca: You are not to blame for what happened, Mom. Michael was full of rage, and you -- you couldn't control that. You couldn't control him.

Erica: I should have seen it. I should have done something. I should have stopped him.

Bianca: How could you, Mom?

Erica: He attacked me, your sister. I should've seen it coming. I should have paid attention. But I didn't want to see another one of those vile, disgusting threats. And so, because of my denial, you were hurt. You were hurt in the worst possible way. And your baby. When you told me that you were pregnant, I couldn't accept it. And did I sit on my pain then? No, then -- then I lashed out at you and I told you that it would be better for you and the baby if you had an abortion. But you loved that baby, Miranda. And I had no right to talk to you like that. Then you lost -- lost her.

Bianca: Mom, Mirandas death was not your fault. She died because --

[Thunder]

Erica: Bianca?

Bianca: I'm so much like you, Mom.

Erica: Oh, no, sweetheart. You have been so brave. You have faced your rape head-on and you got help. And you loved your daughter from the very beginning.

Bianca: I buried my pain just like you did. I just came up with a different system. You pushed Kendall away. I embraced Miranda with everything that I had in me. She wasn't a reminder of my rape. She was my escape from it. And I dreamed about our future together -- a new, clean life, with no pain and no shame and no looking back. I used my daughter because I couldn't deal.

Erica: No. You loved her. It was in your eyes. It was in your voice.

Bianca: I kept on using her, even after she was dead. When I lost Miranda, I embraced my grief just as hard as I'd held on to her. Because if I was so consumed with mourning my daughter, there was no room for anything else, right? But I can't do it anymore. I can't hide behind Miranda, and I can't hide behind her death. I have to face what Michael did to me. I have to take it on, just like you, all the -- the hurt and -- and the shame and the guilt.

Erica: Oh, no! You have nothing to feel guilty about, sweetheart, nothing.

Bianca: That's the worst part. I feel so guilty about Miranda. I should've put her first, but I didn't. I wanted her to fill a hole in my heart, and I -- I didn't think about what her life would be like. I just wanted my pain to go away. How could I be so selfish? How could I put that kind of burden on my own daughter? What -- what if, because of me --

Erica: Oh, what, sweetheart? What, Bianca?

Bianca: I'm afraid that that's why Miranda was taken from me.

Bobby: So, uh, what are you doing here exactly?

Aidan: You know, I just popped by to see Anita and see what she's been up to since I've been gone.

Bobby: Hmm. Yeah, that's bull. Here's what I think. I think that you were hoping that Anita had dumped me so that you could move on in.

Aidan: Interesting theory. Or maybe I just like picnics.

Bobby: Hmm. It almost worked. You really put your shoulder into it, I got to give you that, you know, telling Anita that I was protecting Erica back in Vegas. I'm sure you just loved dumping that one her.

Aidan: No. I was just looking out for a friend.

Bobby: Yeah, well, so was I. And Anita understands that. You flamed out, Devane, all right? Anita and I are together, we're staying together, so whatever little fantasies you have about my wife, drop them.

Anita: Look, Bobby, you've got it all wrong. Aidan doesn't really care about me.

Aidan: No, actually, you're wrong, Anita. I do care about you very much.

Bobby: Stop circling my wife.

Anita: Aidan doesn't mean it like that, Bobby. I mean, you care about me as buddies, pals, friends, right?

Aidan: Sure. Anita and I are just friends. Feel better?

Bobby: When you're gone.

Aidan: Well, I apologize, then, for interrupting your evening. Anita, I think you've done a fantastic job with all of this. And, Bobby, I'm so sorry that you overheard what I said about you.

Bobby: Hmm. But not that you said it?

Aidan: Well, no, maybe I'm wrong. I mean, maybe -- maybe you can really be trusted. But then again --

Bobby: Get out.

Aidan: Take care of yourself, Anita.

Maria: Why are you here, Zach? Is it Bianca? Or is it somebody else? Is it Erica? Come on! What is going on?

Zach: You're trying so hard.

Maria: Yeah, well, just tell me the truth, then!

Zach: You're trying so hard to hate me! Just -- there's so many reasons, pick one!

Maria: You know, Ryan and Edmund are right about you.

Zach: They have too much time on their hands.

Maria: No, no, because you're not here for me, you're not here for the casino. I want -- I want to know what's at stake here.

Zach: Well, there was a time when there was nothing at stake, not for you, not for me. It was just us.

Maria: Of course, because it was all rose-colored, because we had no reality. There was no obstacles, no work, no bills, no nothing! I have a real life now!

Zach: Oh, a real life?

Maria: Yeah!

Zach: Yeah, that's what you keep telling me. You're a doctor and a wife. Doesn't change what's between us.

Maria: I want to know what you're plotting.

Zach: That's a strong word.

Maria: Seems to fit.

Zach: I'm not plotting anything! I'm -- I'm -- ugh. I'm trying to right a wrong.

Jonathan: Should I call security?

Ryan: No, I think I'd like a word in private.

Mr. Collins: No closed-door sessions. We have a right to know.

Jonathan: It's a scam. What else do we need to know?

Ryan: Why do I have the feeling there's more? If you'll excuse us. Ethan, after you.

Greenlee: There's something I don't get. You've throwing everything you could at us to shred Ryan, but you had a chance to spill about our marriage and you didn't, and it's not the first time. Why?

Kendall: Does it keep you up at night worrying? That's reason enough right there.

Greenlee: I don't trust you. There's more. What's your angle? What do you want?

Kendall: I don't have an angle, ok? I made a promise to Ryan.

Greenlee: Since when does a promise mean anything to you?

Kendall: This one does, and I intend to keep it -- for Ryan.

Ryan: So look at you, all bright and shiny out of nowhere, huh?

Ethan: If you don't believe me, you can feel free to investigate.

Ryan: No, I think I'd rather hear it straight from you. So the accent's an attention-getter, got the girls all crazy in there. What, you from London?

Ethan: A suburb.

Ryan: Ah. Well, you're smart enough. You go to school?

Ethan: Oxford.

Ryan: You don't mess around. What'd you study?

Ethan: Finance.

Ryan: Imagine that. What a coincidence -- a Cambias studying finance even before you knew your own birthright.

Ethan: I guess it must in the blood.

Ryan: Yeah. Yeah, here's the thing -- there isn't a living Cambias left to identify you -- no father, no grandfather, no sibling, no cousin, no crazy aunt stuck up in the attic -- so all I have to go on is your word.

Ethan: Not good enough?

Ryan: To hand over the Cambias billions? No. Not hardly.

Erica: Don't you say that, honey. Don't you even think it. Your baby was not taken from you to punish you or for anything that you did. You didn't use your baby. You loved your baby with everything you had. Your love for your baby was pure and selfless and beautiful. Know that, Bianca. Believe it. Yes, honey, yes! You cry for your baby! You can cry for your baby. I love you so much, Bianca.

Bobby: God, I love you so much.

Anita: Happy late anniversary.

Bobby: And to think you did all this.

Anita: Hmm.

Bobby: And I was going to take a crop to Aidan. I shouldn't let -- I should not have let that guy get to me so much. Hey, Anita?

Anita: Forget Aidan. It's just us.

Aidan: Edmund, it's me. I've got what you need on Zach Slater.

Maria: What wrong do you have to right? Who could you possibly have a score to settle with here?

Zach: It doesn't concern you!

Maria: Yes, it does! When you are nosing around my family and friends, it concerns me.

Zach: I tell you what, I'll make you a deal. I'll stay out of your life if you stay out of mine.

Maria: You know what, why don't you just answer me? Why don't you just answer? What is this mission that you're on?

Zach: Stop! Stop pushing me! Damn it, I -- I don't want to lie to you!

Maria: You know what? I was just stupid to fall in love with you.

Erica: It's all right, sweetheart. Whatever we're going to have to do from now on, we'll do it together.

Bianca: You know, Mom, there were so many times that I thought that I had lost you. But now -- I don't think I've ever felt closer. Thank you for being so honest with me, and thank you for helping me to understand so much. I love you, Mom.

Erica: I love you, too.

Ryan: Thank you all for waiting.

Greenlee: Do we get to vote him out now? Don't get comfortable, you're next.

Mr. Collins: So, Lavery, have you found your own replacement, or do you think he's an impostor?

Ethan: Am I an impostor?

Ryan: I tell you what I'm going to do. I am going to dig up every detail of your life. I'm going to chase down every source, I am going to scour every little bit of evidence that I can find. And if what you're saying is true, then I give you my word, you'll get everything, everything that's rightfully yours.

>> On the next "All My Children" --

Aidan: How did she react when you told her that you knew about her and Slater?

Edmund: I didn't tell her.

Maria: You are totally ruining my life!

Ryan: We need some hard evidence to prove that you are who you say that you are.

Ethan: I'll give it to you, proof that you can't deny.
