Notes:
The trailers for this episode advertised it as "Smallville Velocity,"
putting the title of the episode in the commercials, which doesn't happen
too often.
John Glover doesn't appear in this episode.
The WB's Smallville Torch website spells Françoise Yip's character as
Dr. Lia Teng. In the comics, Dr. Teng leads Lex Luthor's staff in the
creation of the Superman clone: Bizarro.
Lex is seen examining Adam's medical records on his laptop. On the left
of the screen is a section titled "Post Operative Patient Status Report"
- the text beneath is taken verbatim from a self-diagnosis website for
leg injuries:

During Pete's street races, they frequently showed his speedometer,
and the highest it ever got was around 101 mph. Even a stock Ford Mustang
can go over 101, and "tricked out" street racers usually hit speeds of
140 to 160 miles per hour when they hit their boost. I guess all that
Kryptonite wasn't really helping at all.
Pete tells Clark to guard the kryptonite-enhanced car. How could they
possibly think that was a good plan?
So what happened with Dante's body? Did they report it? Flee the
scene? Hide the evidence? It seems doubtful that the sheriff would have
let them off so easily. Certainly Clark's parents would have said
something if they were aware that he was partially responsible for
someone's death.
When Dante's car goes out of control, there's only one small explosion
below the backseat. The fuel tank, engine, and possibly a Nitrous Oxide
system's explosion would create a much bigger explosion, not like the
fuel-less stunt-car explosion we saw.
How come Lana discovers the the article about Adam being dead, yet it
eludes journalist Chloe and Lex?
When Clark pulls the plug, all the gas pours out of the back and
Pete's car comes to a stop. But how could the gas tank be ruptured? It
doesn't go through the side of trunk!
Dante's car is seen crashing way behind Pete. But when they both come
to a stop, they are just a few feet apart!
When Clark speaks to Pete at the car garage, Dante is present, then he
goes off and we see him working at an engine. After the cut back to Clark
and Pete we see him go off again.
In the scene where Clark forces Pete to stop in the middle of a road
you can see the beautiful snow covered mountains of Canada.
Why doesn't Chloe know about any of the green-k related drag racing
going on? Clark mentions there's been a series of fatal car accidents
recently. Cars spewing green-k fumes and moving at super-accelerated
speeds. Sounds like Wall of Weird material, but there's no indication she
has a clue what's going on. later she tells Clark she knows about Pete's
drag racing, but Clark doesn't know she knew. So...they're both keeping
secrets from each other?
It's undeniable that this episode uses a lot of content from the
movie, "The Fast and The Furious." I mean, there's street racing with
attractive girls wishing you good luck at the window of your car, some
kind of boosters that give your car enhanced speed, and the act of
sending police to arrest the bad guy, to find out that it appears that
he's not guilty at all. Sorry to say it, but this episode is definitely a
rip-off of the movie.
