News February 25, 2015 E! NEWS EXCLUSIVE: Glee: What the
Cast Did Right After Filming the Series' Final Scene
Link
The cast and crew of Glee weren't only crying when they
wrapped filming the series finale on Saturday.
"Everybody was balling and all of a sudden I couldn't stop
laughing," Chord Overstreet told me at the Oscars Governors
Ball. "And then everybody started laughing and we couldn't
stop laughing. It was so infectious and it was so amazing.
It was one of the best experiences in my life."
In fact, Overstreet said, "I can't imagine it ending any
better than the way it did. I was the most content I had
ever been. It was the last take that we did. It was just
us—the original cast—and a steadicam."
Overstreet said the cast ended the night by talking for two
hours. "It was one of those things where I couldn't stop
smiling," he said. "There were tears and there was laughter.
It was every emotion you could think of."
Lea Michele revealed on Instagram that she took home her
late boyfriend and co-star Cory Monteith's football jersey
as a memento from set.
She also posted a photo of the cast with a caption that
reads, "Last day at Glee tomorrow... It's been the most
incredible 6 1/2 years. I'm going to miss Rachel Berry so
much."
Matthew Morrison told me just a couple of hours after
wrapping that it was a "really tough day."
While singing the last song of the series, Morrison said
Michele, Amber Riley, Darren Criss andChris Colfer began to
cry. "There were a lot of hugs and a lot of tears," he said,
adding, "It's been an amazing almost seven years."
Chris Colfer (Kurt) won The People's Choice Award for
"Favorite Comedic TV Actor"! Congratulations!

July 14, 2014 E! News Exclusive: Lea Michele Left Town With Gal-Pals
and Boyfriend During Anniversary of Cory Monteith's Death
Link
Understandably so, Lea Michele wanted to get away over the weekend.
E! News has exclusively learned that the Glee star spent the
anniversary of former boyfriend Cory Monteith's death at the San
Ysidro Ranch in Montecito alongside her gal-pals and boyfriend,
Matthew Paetz. "She was in Los Angeles when she got the news that
Cory died," a source tells us. "So she was not going to stay in LA
over his anniversary."
The insider adds that everyone had a great time, relaxing and
hanging out at the spa. However, Lea did take some time to pay
tribute to the fallen star on Twitter.
With a photo of Cory hugging Lea, the actress tweeted, "We hold you
in our hearts today, and every day we remember your smile. We will
love you and miss you always."
Lea first broke her silence on the tragedy while accepting a Teen
Choice Award in August 2013, emotionally telling the audience and
viewers, "For all of you out there who loved and admired Cory as
much as I did, I promise that with your love, we're going to get
through this together.
"He was very special to me and also to the world, and we were very
lucky to witness his incredible talent, his handsome smile and his
beautiful, beautiful heart. So whether you knew him personally or
just as Finn Hudson, Cory reached out and he became a part of all of
our hearts, and that's where he'll stay forever."
The Glee actor, 31, was found at the Fairmont Pacific Hotel in
Vancouver on July 13, 2013, and died of mixed drug toxicity, with
heroin and alcohol found in his system.
E! News Exclusive: Lea Michele Introduces Boyfriend Matthew Paetz to
Friends, Couple "Looked Like They Were Totally Crazy for One
Another"
Things are getting serious between these two lovebirds.
News that Lea Michele had jumped back into the dating scene first
came about nearly a month ago, and it looks like her new
relationship is blossoming quite well. A source tells E! News that
the Glee star and her beau Matthew Paetz attended a private house
party in the Hills yesterday, and the brunette beauty took the
outing as the perfect opportunity to introduce the new man in her
life to some of her nearest and dearest.
"Lea was leading the way and she couldn't wait to introduce him to
friends," an eyewitness tells us of the hand-holding pair.
"They were talking to people about summer plans and looked like they
were totally crazy for one another. Lea looked like she couldn't
wait to introduce him to people."
The source adds, "They look so cute together and so into one
another. She clearly really likes him."
The duo met on the set of Michele's "On My Way" music video shoot a
few months ago. Paetz is the first person she's romanced since
losing longtime love and former co-starCory Monteith nearly a year
ago. "She waited a long time before getting serious again and she
likes him a lot," a source recently told E! News.
Another insider shared that Paetz "treats her really well, he's
smart and fun. She's really happy."

“GLEE” TUNES UP FOR A FIFTH AND SIXTH SEASON ON FOX
Sarah Jessica Parker Guest-Stars on Next All-New
Episode
Thursday, April 25
FOX has ordered two more seasons of the
genre-defying musical sensation GLEE, it was
announced today by Kevin Reilly, Chairman of
Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company.
“GLEE debuted as the first and only successful
musical comedy series on television, and more than
four years later, it continues to defy genres, break
new ground and have a significant impact on popular
culture,” said Reilly. “Week in and week out, Ryan
Murphy, Brad Falchuk, Ian Brennan, Dante DiLoreto
and the entire GLEE team deliver a series that not
only delights and surprises fans, but also inspires
them to talk about, share, debate and engage with
the show – and I’m absolutely thrilled to have them
on board for another two seasons.”
“GLEE has been a signature series for the studio
since its launch four years ago and we couldn’t be
happier that FOX has ordered two more seasons,”
commented Twentieth Century Fox Television Chairmen
Dana Walden and Gary Newman. “Ryan, Brad, Ian and
Dante have created something that is far larger than
a television show; it’s a global entertainment brand
which continues to touch millions around the world.
From its chart-topping musical numbers to its
inventive storytelling and rich, complex characters,
GLEE rewrote the rules of what network television
could be, and we are enormously proud to be the
studio behind it.”
“I am very grateful to Kevin, Dana and Gary for
their incredible support of this series from the
beginning,” added Murphy. “But I also want to thank
our loyal audience, whose passion and enthusiasm
continue to amaze and inspire us.”
Over the past four seasons, GLEE has built a loyal
fan base of “Gleeks”; made tracksuits, musicals and
outcasts cool again; attracted A-list guest stars
from Kate Hudson and Katey Sagal to Sarah Jessica
Parker and Gwyneth Paltrow; covered music from
Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, Madonna and Stevie
Wonder; and received prestigious awards and
nominations, from the Golden Globes to the Writers
Guild. This hit series and its extraordinary
characters have become an indelible part of pop
culture and will continue entertaining fans through
2015.
Last month, the series reached its milestone 500th
performance with a rendition of the anthem, “Shout.”
GLEE music continues to shatter records with more
than 53 million GLEE tracks digitally downloaded and
more than 13 million albums sold worldwide. GLEE
albums have garnered two platinum albums (sales in
excess of 1 million units) and five gold albums
(sales in excess of 500,000 units). Also, the GLEE
cast holds the record for most singles to ever enter
the Billboard Hot 100 chart (203 tracks to date),
surpassing records previously held by Elvis Presley,
the Beatles and James Brown.
This season, originals of GLEE are averaging a
3.6/10 among Adults 18-49 and 8.7 million Total
Viewers. GLEE is a Top 10 comedy among Adults 18-49,
a Top 10 show overall among Adults 18-34 and the No.
1 show overall on broadcast television among Teens
(tied with FAMILY GUY).
Now in its fourth season, GLEE has made an
effortless transition to college with Rachel (Lea
Michele) and Kurt (Chris Colfer) attending NYADA,
while the new kids of McKinley continue to strive
for a glee club win at Regionals.
In the next all-new episode of GLEE, “Lights Out,”
airing Thursday, April 25 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT),
Will (Matthew Morrison) and Finn (Cory Monteith)
enlist the members of New Directions to “unplug” and
perform acoustic numbers, after the power goes out
at McKinley High School. Meanwhile, Isabelle Wright
(guest star Sarah Jessica Parker) asks Kurt to
volunteer at the Vogue.com charity event, with
Rachel and Santana (Naya Rivera) in tow.
GLEE is produced by Ryan Murphy Television in
association with 20th Century Fox Television. Ryan
Murphy, Brad Falchuk, Ian Brennan and Dante Di
Loreto serve as executive producers. “Like” GLEE on

On tonight’s episode of Glee entitled “Naked” (FOX,
Jan 31st 2013), New Directions members close the
episode with a celebratory staged performance of
“This Is the New Year” by independent pop music duo
A Great Big World. Given the poignancy of the song
and the climactic emphasis placed on it (as well as
the intense engagement of the Glee viewers), we
thought you’d be interested in the song’s origins
and the duo behind the soon-to-be hit.
This isn’t the first time an independent artist’s
work has been a featured song in an episode of Glee.
It is a testament to the respect being shown to a
new breed of talent exploring new ways to reach
audiences. A Great Big World is excited be
introduced to such a wide, diverse and active
music-loving audience.

performance, can be found on the duo’s website here

Ian Axel and Chad Vaccarino met while studying music
business at NYU. At first, Ian was the artist and
Chad shared writing duties while becoming his
manager. After gaining a huge viral buzz, their
music was featured on One Tree Hill, MTV, The
Amazing Race, ESPN, GMA, and even a performance on
the Rachael Ray Show. In 2012, after opening for
acts including Ingrid Michaelson, Five For Fighting
and Glee star Matthew Morrison, the duo rebranded
themselves as A Great Big World, crafting a six-song
EP funded on Kickstarter by fans.
"Glee" is nominated for an NAACP Image Award for
Outstanding Comedy Series. The awards show airs
Friday, February 1 on NBC.

New Public Service Announcement, “Get With the Program,”
Highlights Why Exposing Kids to the Arts is Important
November 20, 2012 — As part of the continued partnership
between Fox Audience Strategy and the National Arts and
Humanities Youth Program Awards (NAHYP), Fox today announced
it has created a public service announcement, “Get With the
Program,” highlighting the importance of creative education.
The PSA was developed in connection with the NAHYP awards,
which were announced in a special ceremony at the White
House on November 19th, hosted by First Lady Michele Obama.
The awards, presented by the President’s Committee on the
Arts and the Humanities (PCAH), showcase the ground-breaking
work of 12 organizations across the country that harness the
power of the arts and humanities to engage and educate young
people.
An array of FOX talent, including GLEE’s Jane Lynch, Matthew
Morrison, Chris Colfer, Darren Criss and Naya Rivera; NEW
GIRL’s Lamorne Morris; THE MINDY PROJECT’s Mindy Kaling and
Amanda Setton; BEN AND KATE’s Nat Faxon, Echo Kellum and
Lucy Punch; and Martha Plimpton from RAISING HOPE, came
together to showcase the importance of creative education,
in an effort to raise awareness and support for programs
that are opening new pathways for young people across the
country.
"We are excited to be a part of this year’s NAHYP awards and
to celebrate the 12 winners and the transformative power of
the arts for young people,” said Nicole A. Bernard, Senior
Vice President of Fox Audience Strategy. “The Fox
entertainment businesses are a reflection of creative arts –
through storytelling, production, dance, film and music
programming – and we are thrilled that FOX talent has joined
us in this partnership to build more support and awareness
for the amazing work of these organizations and others
across the nation.”
The Fox “Get with the Program” PSA http://youtu.be/dpmOzSbx8QI
will air on the FOX network, and will be distributed to more
than 200 local Fox affiliates and across Fox digital and
social media platforms.
Fox Audience Strategy is an official media sponsor of the
2012 and 2013 National Arts and Humanities Youth Program
Awards, and has worked with the President’s Committee on
Arts and Humanities to leverage its creative resources to
provide tailored media training, develop one-day mentorship
programs, and amplify the stories and networks of these
transformative organizations.

In the season premiere, RACHEL BERRY (Lea Michele) lands in New York City to

glee club where they find strength, acceptance and ultimately their voice. This
year, the senior class is riding high from their Nationals win and enjoying a
bit of popularity, while the graduating class leaves the comforts of McKinley
for the cruel streets of New York as they open a new chapter and continue
chasing their dreams. As previously announced, Golden Globe Award winner and
Academy Award nominee Kate Hudson will join the cast in a six-episode arc, and

CHORD OVERSTREET SET TO RETURN TO THE “GLEE” CLUB
Multi-Episode Arc Begins this December
GLEE Returns with All-New Episodes Tuesday, November 1, on FOX
Chord Overstreet will return to GLEE’s McKinley High as underdog SAM EVANS
for a multi-episode arc beginning this December on FOX.
“We love Chord and have always said that we wanted him back,” said Ryan
Murphy, executive producer and co-creator of GLEE. “So here's an early
Christmas present for all the Gleeks—Sam is coming back to McKinley, and
just in time for sectionals!”
"I had the best time on GLEE and couldn't be more excited to be
returning,” Overstreet added.
Overstreet’s character was introduced last season as a transfer student at
McKinley, discovered by then-football captain FINN HUDSON (Corey Monteith)
while singing Poison’s “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” in the locker room.
Later in the season, Sam revealed that his dad had lost his job, and that
his family was living in a motel. In Season Three’s premiere, viewers
learned that Sam and his family had moved out of state.
“GLEE” HITS A MUSICAL MILESTONE WITH AN INCREDIBLE 300 PERFORMANCES
From the anthem hit “Don’t Stop Believin’” to the iconic rendition of “Vogue” to
the pop phenomenon “Teenage Dream,” GLEE has sold more than 36 million songs.
Now
GLEE has reached another impressive milestone: 300 musical performances. The
300th performance, a momentous mash-up of “Rumor Has It - Someone Like You,”
will debut in the upcoming all-new episode of GLEE airing Tuesday, Nov. 15
(8:00-9:01 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
GLEE music continues to shatter records with over 36 million GLEE songs
digitally downloaded and over 11 million albums sold worldwide. GLEE albums have
garnered two Platinum albums (sales in excess of 1 million units) and five Gold
albums (sales in excess of 500,000 units). Also, more than 50 percent of the
songs have been Billboard Hot 100 chart entries.
And GLEE is giving back. In a partnership with the National Association For
Music Education, the series will award 73 deserving public school arts programs
with one million dollars in grants ranging from $10,000 to $50,000. Already, 407
public schools have submitted videos for grant consideration, and more than one
million votes have been cast. Fans can go to www.gleegiveanote.com or
www.gleegiveanote.org to vote and to see these moving and heartfelt entries.
Voting is open through November 7. The winning schools will be announced in
December.
GLEE will return with all-new new episodes Tuesday, Nov. 1 (8:00–9:01 PM ET/PT)
on FOX. In the “Pot O’ Gold” episode, a new foreign exchange student, Rory
Flanagan (guest star Damian McGinty, winner of “The Glee Project”), enrolls at
McKinley and crashes with Brittany S. Pierce (Heather Morris) who thinks he’s a
leprechaun. Meanwhile, Mercedes (Amber Riley) attempts to recruit new members to
join Shelby Corcoran’s (guest star Idina Menzel) newly formed glee club, and
Sue’s (Jane Lynch) congressional campaign heats up.

From E! News tonight 10/4:
* Glee scoop: We're there as Amber Riley, Lea Michele, Chris Colfer,
etc come out to support Ryan Murphy's new FX show "American Horror
Story." We interview Harry Shum Jr. about what's to come on "Glee" - in
which his character faces an unsupportive father. Harry tells us that
his own parents want him to: "Just go to college for 4 years get a good
job. Which is commendable I totally understand that. But at the same
time I wanted to try my things out and what I love to do and luckily that
worked out alright for me." We also interview Jane Lynch about her new
book "Happy Endings" in which she talks about her struggles with alcohol
and her sexuality. Quote: "I always felt I was in an alien body. I
always felt I was supposed to be a boy. I would put my dad's clothes on,
I would go in the room and lock the door and put on his shirts and ties
and suits.... I didn't tell my family for years. I came out to my family
when I was 32. Coming out to my family and having them accept me did a
lot for my acceptance. I felt the weight of the world was off my
shoulders."

Wanted to share with you a sneak peek of Sunday's issue of PARADE. Glee
actor Cory Monteith opens up for the first time about his troubled teen
years, drug abuse, family intervention and getting his life back on track
again.
"I'm not Finn Hudson," Monteith says of his beloved Glee character in the
exclusive interview with Shawna Malcom in Sunday's PARADE. Discussing his
troubled past as he never has before, Monteith explains, "I'm lucky on so
many counts‹I'm lucky to be alive."
His parents divorced when he was 7, and by 13, Monteith‹once a promising
student who at age 5 could read at a fourth-grade level‹was skipping
school to get drunk and smoke pot. Monteith estimate s that by the age of
16, when he quit for good, he had attended 12 different schools, including
alternative programs for troubled teens. "I burned a lot of bridges," he
says. "I was out of control."
At that point, so was his drug use. Monteith admits, "I had a serious
problem." What kinds of drugs? "Anything and everything, as much as
possible."
Afraid that he "could die," his mother and a group of friends staged an
intervention when he was 19. "That's when I first went to rehab. I did the
stint but then went back to doing exactly what I left off doing." Monteith
might have continued down that path if not for what he calls "the
crystallizing event."
"I stole a significant amount of money from a family member," he admits.
"I knew I was going to get caught, but I was so desperate I didn't care.
It was a cry for help. I was confronted and I said, 'Yeah, it was me.' It
was the first honorable, truthful thing that had come out of my mouth in
years."
He was given an ultimatum: Get clean, or the family member would report
him to the police and press charges. Although it wasn't the first time
Monteith had taken something that didn't belong to him ("A lot of things
went missing when I was around; I had high overhead to take care of "), up
until that point he had avoided prosecution.
"I was done fighting myself," Cory recalls of his turning point. "I
finally said, 'I'm gonna start looking at my life and figure out why I'm
doing this.'" Visit Parade.com for more on the Cory Monteith
story. Learn how he got his life back on track, started
acting, and reunited with his dad for the first time in 17
years

Broadway Star Idina Menzel to Guest Mentor in Second Episode of "The
Glee Project" on Sunday, June 19th at 9:00PM ET/PT
NEW YORK - June 13, 2011 - During last night's series debut of Oxygen's
"The Glee Project," the 12 contenders performed an energetic rendition of
Katy Perry's mega-hit "Firework." Under the tutelage of "Glee" guest
mentor Darren Criss ("Glee's" Blaine), the group was coached on the theme
of 'Individuality' and how to stand out while being true to your
personality. At the conclusion of the premiere episode, "Glee" hopeful
Bryce Ross-Johnson (22) of Westlake Village, CA was the first contender to
be eliminated. Bryce was tasked with performing Bruno Mars' "Just the Way
You Are" for "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy as a last chance - but the show
must go on! The remaining 11 contenders will face their next
'Glee'-inspired challenge on Sunday, June 19th at 9pm ET/PT, only on
Oxygen.
Next week on "The Glee Project," the contenders are in for a real treat as
Broadway star Idina Menzel ("Glee's" Shelby) will mentor the contenders
with a fitting theme of 'theatricality.' Additionally, as they prepare to
sing Twisted Sister's "We're Not Gonna Take It," tensions rise between two
of the contenders.
Prior to appearing on "The Glee Project," Bryce Ross-Johnson had been
performing ever since he picked up an acoustic guitar and taught himself
to play at age 13. During his junior year of high school, he discovered
the theatre department and for the first time in his life felt comfortable
in his own skin. At 15, while vacationing in the Bahamas, Bryce dove
headfirst into a coral reef, splitting open his head and breaking his
neck. For the next seven months he lived in a neck brace unsure of
whether he would walk again. As a student at Berklee College of Music in
Boston, he is a Voice major with a scholarship, and sings jazz, rap, pop,
punk, reggae, and gospel. Bryce is also an accomplished songwriter and was
one of 34,000 to submit an audition video for "The Glee Project" via
MySpace.
In March, while GLEE takes a break before its spring semester return, FOX
will continue the laughs on Tuesdays with a block of four half-hour
comedies. The night will feature the critically acclaimed RAISING HOPE,
new comedies I HATE MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER (wt) and NEW GIRL (wt), as well as
one of the additional comedies in development, including FAMILY ALBUM
(working title) and LITTLE IN COMMON (working title). Starring Mike
O’Malley (GLEE) and Rachael Harris (“The Hangover”), FAMILY ALBUM (wt) is
the single-camera comedy that takes a snapshot of the Bronsky clan as they
reveal the hilarious stories behind the photo-worthy moments of life.

the Year Award. In addition, she recently hosted the 2010 Do Something
Awards, and her memoirs, “Happy Accidents,” will be released in September.
Executive-produced by Mark Burnett, the 63RD PRIMETIME EMMY® AWARDS on FOX
will originate from the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles.

NEW YORK - April 29, 2011 - Reality competition will never be the same as
Oxygen introduces the 12 contenders of "The Glee Project," premiering on
Sunday, June 12 at 9pm ET/PT. From Ryan Murphy, the creator and Emmy(r)
award winning executive producer of "Glee," and executive producer of
"Glee" Dante Di Loreto, comes a groundbreaking 10-episode competition
series, "The Glee Project" which finds and trains a group of 12
extraordinarily talented performers who compete against one another to win
a seven episode guest starring role on "Glee." From thousands of entries,
and an exhaustive nationwide and online talent search, the series uncovers
a unique group of artists from both professional and amateur backgrounds
proving every underdog has a fighting chance at stardom. Additionally,
Oxygen will air its second round of "Glee" episodes during its "Glee"
marathon on Saturday, May 21 from 10am-11pm ET/PT. Oxygen's first "Glee"
marathon reached over four million viewers.
"'The Glee Project' is one of the most exciting shows we've ever
produced," said Amy Introcaso-Davis, Senior Vice President, Original
Programming and Development. "This group of kids is incredible to watch
as they immerse themselves into this series...it's uplifting, heartfelt
and emotional."
Across ten episodes, the hopefuls will be narrowed down through
intensive rounds of workshops, singing, dancing and acting -based
assignments as the creative forces of "Glee" carefully assess which of
them has what it takes to be one of the next new faces of the award
winning show. Ryan Murphy will join casting director Robert Ulrich,
choreographer and "Glee" co-producer Zach Woodlee in the final
deliberations of each installment of the series.
In addition, Oxygen also announced that a group of "Glee" series
regulars will appear as guest mentors in each episode. Fan favorite
Darren Criss will make a guest appearance in the series premiere as the
first of these mentors. Criss joined the cast of "Glee" last season as
'Blaine' and quickly became a breakout sensation.
The group of young performers represents a diverse cross-section of
society and come from large cities including New York, Atlanta and Los
Angeles as well as small towns like Paducah, KY and Derry City, Ireland.
The stakes for them are enormous - a prize that money can't buy: a
multi-episode guest starring role on "Glee!"
Said casting director Ulrich, "Each and every one of these kids has what
it takes to be a star. I was captivated by their passion and charisma,
and I know viewers will be too."
FOX GREENS IT AND MEANS IT DURING EARTH WEEK
Go green with FOX this Earth Week! As part of Fox Broadcasting Company’s
ongoing “Green It. Mean It.” campaign, an initiative designed to raise
both viewer and employee awareness of environmental issues, FOX talent,
shows and employees are stepping up their efforts to help preserve our

network and its sister companies support year-round, FOX’s Earth Week
plans this year include:
· FOX Talent “Green Tips”: During Earth Week, FOX talent,
including Lisa Edelstein, Jennifer Beals, Chris Colfer, Martha Plimpton,
Christian Slater and Joshua Jackson, will appear in network and affiliate
on-air promos offering viewers helpful “Green Tips” on how to establish a
more sustainable lifestyle. Tune in throughout the week to HOUSE, GLEE,
RAISING HOPE, AMERICAN IDOL, BONES, FRINGE and other series to learn more
about environmental issues and what you can do to help. In addition, these
“Green It. Mean It.” talent tips were provided to more than 2,000 radio
stations for use in all day-parts throughout the month of April.
· www.fox.com/greenitmeanit : To better support the network’s
greening efforts, FOX has revamped and re-launched
http://www.fox.com/greenitmeanit, the network’s
dedicated “Green It. Mean It.” website. The site hosts videos, photos and
information to help viewers track the network’s achievements and learn how
they, too, can make a difference. Additionally, in an effort to promote

From GLEE Tuesdays (8:00-9:01 PM ET/PT):
* Lea Michele – “Did you know that oceans regulate the climate,
generate oxygen, provide livelihood to millions of people and are the
home to some of the biggest animals that have ever lived? Yet they are
threatened by climate change, pollution and unsustainable fishing
practices. The less trash you produce, the less chance it has of ending
up in our oceans.
FOX’s Earth Week initiatives are only a small part of FOX’s ongoing “Green
It. Mean It.” campaign. For the past six years, FOX has hosted the FOX
Fall Eco-Casino party, a benefit for various eco-friendly charities,
including The Nature Conservancy, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los
Angeles, Global Green USA, among others. Last year, FOX donated two solar
panels, previously used on the AMERICAN IDOL finale red carpet, to schools
in Los Angeles and New York. This spring, FOX will donate the solar panel
from its most recent Emmy Awards red carpet to an additional school. In
addition, the Environmental Media Award-winning TEEN CHOICE AWARDS
annually implements numerous “green” initiatives, including the use of
solar and natural gas power, a Woolly Pocket vertical garden as a
step-and-repeat and, in a red carpet first, cyclists generating power to
cool talent and the media.

“Glee” Executive Producer Dante Di Loreto To Be Honored
At Education Through Music’s Children Benefit Gala
Sunday, May 15th
Dante Di Loreto, executive producer of FOX’s Emmy Award-winning
television series “Glee,” will be honored this year at Education
Through Music’s Children Benefit Gala.
On Sunday, May 15th, Education Through Music will honor Di Loreto for his
accomplishments in advocating for music education. The gala will be held
in New York City at the famous Pier 60 at Chelsea Piers.
Di Loreto has played an instrumental role in advancing ETM’s mission by
fighting to restore music programs to our nation’s schools. In its 20th
anniversary year, ETM enthusiastically applauds Di Loreto for his artistic
accomplishments and social endeavors.
The relationship between ETM and “Glee” began last year. In December,
producers and cast members of “Glee,” and students from ETM-LA, ETM's
affiliate organization in Los Angeles, came together for an amazing day of
song and volunteerism at Paramount Studios, hosted by Members Project from
American Express and “Glee.” The event culminated with American
Express and FOX donating $100,000 to Education Through Music, Inc., to
further impact children in a positive way.
Founded in 1991 to promote the use of music in the curricula of schools
with at-risk populations as a means of enhancing students’ academic
performance and general development, ETM makes music education a reality
for thousands of children who would otherwise have limited or no exposure
to the arts. ETM forms long-term partnerships with inner-city elementary
and middle schools that lack sufficient resources for school-wide music
education. ETM guarantees that every child in its partner schools,
including special needs students, receives weekly music instruction
throughout the school year.

When it comes to using his band's songs on 'Glee,' the Foo Fighters
frontman Dave Grohl sides with Kings of Leon and Slash in the licensing
battle.
"It's every band's right, you shouldn't have to do f---ing Glee," Grohl
told THR following the premiere of Foo Fighters: Back and Forth, the new
Foo Fighters documentary which just made its South By Southwest debut.
"And then the guy who created Glee is so offended that we're not, like,
begging to be on his f---ing show... f--- that guy for thinking anybody
and everybody should want to do Glee."
Recounting anti-Glee comments made by Slash earlier this year and
subsequent retorts by Murphy, reported by THR, Grohl explained to drummer
Taylor Hawkins: "The Glee guy, what a f---ing jerk. Slash was the first
one. He wanted to do Guns 'n' Roses and Slash is like, 'I hate f---ing
musicals. It's worse than Grease.' Then [Murphy's] like, 'Well, of course
he'd say that, he's a washed up ol' rock star, that's what they f---ing
do.' And then Kings of Leon say, 'No, we don't want to be on your show.'
And then he's like, 'Snotty little assholes...' And it's just like, Dude,
maybe not everyone loves Glee. Me included."

MEMBERS PROJECT(r) FROM AMERICAN EXPRESS PARTNERS WITH FOX'S
"GLEE" TO MOBILIZE FANS FOR CHARITY CALL TO ACTION
Campaign Featuring Cast of GLEE Kicks Off Today, Encouraging Everyone to
Volunteer,
Vote or Donate to Take a Small Step and Make a Big Difference
Second Season of GLEE Premieres Tuesday, September 21, on FOX
New York, September 1, 2010 - Members Project(r) from American Express and
TakePart have partnered with FOX's critically acclaimed, award-winning hit
series GLEE on a new, first-of-its-kind campaign that provides fans with a
passion for giving back an opportunity to take small steps to make a big
difference - all with the lighthearted and inspirational voice for which
GLEE is known.
Kicking off today, Wednesday, Sept. 1, the collaboration will feature an
innovative mix of original television, online and cinema content written,
directed and produced by the GLEE creative team and featuring everyone's
favorite GLEE characters. The partnership is designed to elevate common
themes shared by both GLEE and Members Project, including finding
inspiration by working together and harnessing the power of the collective
and individual actions to do something good.
"We are very excited to be able to engage with the incredibly passionate
fan base of GLEE, and we hope to inspire even more people to do something
good for their community through this partnership," said Nancy Smith, Vice
President, Global Media, Content and Community, American Express. "This
partnership brings a new dimension to Members Project and the notion of
doing good. We expect the GLEE spirit to mobilize even more people to
contribute to their communities and create change."
"We collaborated with American Express to develop an initiative with
GLEE to inspire people to take action and to make a difference," said Jean
Rossi, President, FOX One and Executive Vice President, Sales, FOX. "The
partnership is built on the spirit of GLEE's unique brand of fun to
encourage people to get involved in anything from arts education to the
environment."
GLEE and Members Project have created a broad spectrum of promotional
video and online content in the distinctive voice of the series to spark
dialogue about doing good versus doing nothing and to motivate fans to
take a step toward making a difference. The on-air content directs people
to log on to http://www.membersproject.com/glee
and participate in an interactive quiz to find out if they are more like
"Shue" (good through and through like teacher and glee club leader Will
Schuester) or "Sue" (bad to the bone like scheming cheerleading coach Sue
Sylvester). Participants can follow the conversation between Shue and Sue
on Facebook through the Members Project community page and GLEE pages, and
learn about ways to take action by volunteering, voting or donating
through Members Project.
The multi-dimensional campaign is composed of the following elements:
On-Air
* Members Project Moments: Promotional vignettes featuring "Sue"
(Emmy Award winner Jane Lynch), "Shue" (Emmy Award nominee Matthew
Morrison), "Rachel" (Emmy Award nominee Lea Michele), "Finn" (Cory
Monteith), "Mercedes" (Amber Riley), "Kurt" (Emmy Award nominee Chris
Colfer), "Tina" (Jenna Ushkowitz), "Artie" (Kevin McHale), "Puck" (Mark
Salling), "Brittany" (Heather Morris) and "Santana" (Naya Rivera) will air
on FOX and via American Express' online promotional channels. Each piece
points out, "Some people want to do good. Some don't. Which one are you?
Find out at http://www.membersproject.com/glee
and help make the world a better place."
In-Cinema
*In-Cinema Creative: Beginning Friday, Sept. 3, a creative
video short promoting GLEE and Members Project starring "Sue Sylvester"
and created by the GLEE team, including creator Ryan Murphy and the series
writers, debuts in select movie theaters across the country. Moviegoers'
experience will also be further enhanced by Screenvision, which will
utilize an onscreen mobile platform allowing them to interact with
additional content from their handheld devices.

pop-culture phenomenon. Last season's highest-rated new scripted series

genre-defying, award-winning series has been picked up through its third
season. GLEE is produced by Ryan Murphy Television in association with
20th Century Fox Television. Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan are

During the Madonna
episode this past Tuesday, Britney Spear's manager, Adam
Leber, threw out the idea of an all Britney episode on
Twitter (#BritneySpearsGLEE). Well, Glee creator Ryan Murphy
has let everyone know
that he's intrigued by the thought! And not only for
Britney, but Billy Joel and Led Zeppelin as well. With the
"Power of Madonna" soundtrack from this week's episode ready
to debut at the top of the Billboard charts and negotiations
in place for a second Madonna-centric outing, I don't think
we can blame Ms. Spears for wanting that attention too!
