  • SCIENCE CHANNEL INVITES VIEWERS INTO THE WORLD OF FRINGE WITH A SPECIAL TWO-DAY MARATHON OF SEASON THREE THIS WEEKEND
--Day Long Marathons Featuring All 22 Episodes of Season Three Begin at 9 AM ET/PT on Saturday, April 13 and Sunday, April 14--
The thought-provoking, critically-acclaimed series FRINGE returns to Science Channel this weekend in a special two-day long marathon. Science Channel will air the first 11 episodes of season three on Saturday, April 13 from 9 AM to 8 PM ET/PT, and the final 11 episodes of season three on Sunday, April 14 from 9 AM to 8 PM ET/PT.
FRINGE on Science Channel features leading experts such as Dr. Michio Kaku examining phenomena such as time travel, dream sharing and parallel universes with the short-form series, "Science of Fringe".
In season three the FRINGE team escapes from the parallel universe - except for Olivia who is trapped in the other world and replaced in ours by her double. It's her double who turns Peter and Olivia's tentative relationship into a love affair. When Olivia returns the bonds of trust fray while ever more bizarre and terrifying phenomena occur, and secrets that stretch back to 1985 threaten to destroy our universe or the parallel universe.
FRINGE explores the ever-blurring line between scientific concepts and reality, where hybrid beings tear through sewers, thieves walk through walls and portals open to parallel universes. Unable to police a world in which science has advanced beyond our wildest dreams-and nightmares-Olivia Dunham (series star Anna Torv) seeks help from Dr. Walter Bishop (John Noble) and his jack-of-all-trades son, Peter Bishop (Joshua Jackson). Under the direction of Special Agent Phillip Broyles (Lance Reddick) and assisted by Agents Astrid Farnsworth (Jasika Nicole), Charlie Francis (Kirk Acevedo) and Lincoln Lee (Seth Gabel), the Fringe Team investigates unusual incidents that defy human logic and unimaginable events that threaten our very existence on a universal scale.

The remaining Fringe team — comprised of Fringe scientist Water Bishop, Walter’s son, Peter, and FBI agents Olivia Dunham and Astrid Farnsworth — – is joined by Olivia and Peter’s now-grown daughter, Etta, in a final season filled with struggle, surprises and sacrifice. The team must bring together all they have witnessed in preparation for the final battle to save their world.

  • TCA 2012: 'Fringe' Panelists Sound Off on Final Season Expectations
Fringe went back to its roots for the final session at the Television Critics Association summer press tour.
The session began with a special taped video message from co-creator and executive producer J.J. Abrams, who penned multiple episodes during the first two seasons of the cult Fox drama, thanking critics and fans for supporting the series -- an act that would continue on throughout the 45-minute session.
“We can have parties with every single fan in attendance,” Abrams joked of Fringe's small audience before reassuring the room that it would be the best season yet.
The genesis of season four’s pivotal 19th episode, which is set in 2036 and served as backdoor pilot – for lack of a better word – according to showrunner J.H. Wyman, who is without usual partner-in-crime Jeff Pinkner, was also explained. (Pinkner exited before the final season began.) “We tried out 19 [to see] how people engaged with it,” he said, adding that he and some of the producers “wanted a concept.” Traditionally on the show, episode 19 has been used for episodes “off the beaten path.”
During the course of the series run, Wyman confessed that “there probably have been three or four endings” that were being toyed with.
“The show has a natural ending. It’s something that we know is right. How that takes shape is always in flux,” Wyman said.
For the actors, just three days into production on season five as Joshua Jackson admitted, it’ll take some time for the finality of it all to sink in: “I don’t think we’re quite there yet.”
“We are a little cult show with a cult following that you’re able to do it right,” Anna Torv said to the roomful of reporters. “Knock it out of the park, that’s the gift Fox gave us,” Jackson said.
A question that has become a regular for Fringe is that of Emmys’ omission for John Noble, who plays the socially awkward scientist Walter and was not present at the panel.
“We feel like probably a lot of you guys,” Wyman confessed when asked about the lack of mainstream notoriety for Noble. “I’m sitting in the editing room going, ‘Wow.’ I don’t understand. If it’s the issue of it being a science-fiction show, I don’t know.”
But he remained positive that one day, recognition would be given. “I’m trying to believe that the cream will always rise to the top... Hopefully somebody somewhere will realize what this man is doing,” he said.
Fringe premieres Sept. 28 at 9 p.m. on Fox.

  • FOX GREENS IT AND MEANS IT DURING EARTH WEEK
Go green with FOX this Earth Week! As part of Fox Broadcasting Company’s ongoing “Green It. Mean It.” campaign, an initiative designed to raise both viewer and employee awareness of environmental issues, FOX talent, shows and employees are stepping up their efforts to help preserve our planet. In addition to the numerous eco-friendly activities that the network and its sister companies support year-round, FOX’s Earth Week plans this year include:
    · FOX Talent “Green Tips”: During Earth Week, FOX talent, including Lisa Edelstein, Jennifer Beals, Chris Colfer, Martha Plimpton, Christian Slater and Joshua Jackson, will appear in network and affiliate on-air promos offering viewers helpful “Green Tips” on how to establish a more sustainable lifestyle. Tune in throughout the week to HOUSE, GLEE, RAISING HOPE, AMERICAN IDOL, BONES, FRINGE and other series to learn more about environmental issues and what you can do to help. In addition, these “Green It. Mean It.” talent tips were provided to more than 2,000 radio stations for use in all day-parts throughout the month of April.
    · www.fox.com/greenitmeanit : To better support the network’s greening efforts, FOX has revamped and re-launched http://www.fox.com/greenitmeanit, the network’s dedicated “Green It. Mean It.” website. The site hosts videos, photos and information to help viewers track the network’s achievements and learn how they, too, can make a difference. Additionally, in an effort to promote environmental awareness and energy efficiency, www.americanidol.com  will turn its homepage black for Earth Day on Friday, April 22. The AMERICAN IDOL finalists also share their green tips exclusively at http://www.americanidol.com/
    · Local Grocery Tote Giveaway: On Wednesday, April 20, FOX employees will take shifts distributing free reusable “Green It. Mean It” grocery tote bags outside of Ralphs supermarket at 10309 West Olympic Blvd. in Los Angeles to encourage shoppers to avoid using paper or plastic when carrying their groceries.
    · Habitat For Humanity Build: FOX is a proud partner of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles. On Thursday, April 21 in Long Beach, CA, FOX employees will join the organization in constructing affordable housing for a family in need, using recycled and sustainable materials.
FOX Talent “Green Tips” are available at http://www.fox.com/earthday  for viewing and sharing across social networks like Facebook and Twitter. Examples include:
From FRINGE Fridays (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT):
    * Joshua Jackson – “More than 1 trillion gallons of untreated sewage, storm water and industrial waste end up in U.S. waters ever year. Take a stand and ask your local government to enforce environmental protection laws.”
FOX’s Earth Week initiatives are only a small part of FOX’s ongoing “Green It. Mean It.” campaign. For the past six years, FOX has hosted the FOX Fall Eco-Casino party, a benefit for various eco-friendly charities, including The Nature Conservancy, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles, Global Green USA, among others. Last year, FOX donated two solar panels, previously used on the AMERICAN IDOL finale red carpet, to schools in Los Angeles and New York. This spring, FOX will donate the solar panel from its most recent Emmy Awards red carpet to an additional school. In addition, the Environmental Media Award-winning TEEN CHOICE AWARDS annually implements numerous “green” initiatives, including the use of solar and natural gas power, a Woolly Pocket vertical garden as a step-and-repeat and, in a red carpet first, cyclists generating power to cool talent and the media.
