A Farewell to Dawson's Creek By Courtney

Well ,Creek Fans, its over, one of the greatest teen dramas ever has recently been put to rest.  It’s the first season of television with out the crew from Capeside, and I don’t know about you, but I wasn’t quite ready for the end.  Let me just say now, that on the day the last episode aired, I had a room full of arguing Creek fans debating who would end up wining Joey’s heart. I have to tell you that I was extremely happy with the result.  I won’t ruin the ending just yet, incase there are any of us out there who haven’t seen it, but it was great. I have to say it was a very touching episode, and my hats off to the writers they did an outstanding job.

Although we were all disappointed for the end to come. There was more to see, more to be done.  I think I could have even put up with the unresolved Joey, Dawson, and Pacey, love triangle for at least a couple more seasons.  Would Joey have gone through a few more new love interests before deciding between Pacey and Dawson, or would there have been another long relationship with one of the two?  I would have liked to see a little more between Dawson and Joey before our five-year jump in time, we never really saw them together for very long.  I wonder what would have come out of that.

Dawson’s Creek was a great show that took us carefully through the ups and downs of growing up.  Some of which were so dead on, that it was almost eerie.  It was like watching yourself and your childhood friends grow up all over again, re-living every trial and tribulation that goes hand in had with being a teenager, not withstanding the addition of a little bit of marketable sugar coating, and just a splash of unbelievable intelligence.  By the way, did you ever wonder why we never saw anyone on Dawson’s Creek that was actually unintelligent?  I mean I know that they made of few of the characters out to be below average intelligence, but I don’t remember any failing students in my high school that were armed with a vocabulary like that.  Not to mention the ever-quick wit that Pacey was outfitted with.  In light of this, it was still an excellent show, and in honor of the re-runs that are airing every weekday to help us all relive our favorite Creek moments, I figured it couldn’t hurt if we went through and relived them together, sharing our opinions on the experiences and adventures of the Capeside crew.  I know I wouldn’t mind enlightening readers with a few insights into my thoughts and feelings on the events happening on the Creek.  I will try to get to each episode as soon as possible.  Hopefully I will get to share my thoughts on the pilot some time next week.

So, if you are interested in hearing a fellow Creek fan’s thoughts on one of the most well written series about growing up, check back here weekly.  Hopefully I should have some new interesting ideas to share with you all.  So until next time, keep enjoying the Creek, and don’t forget to tune in to the re runs.
