DVD Reviews
This is a great show. I really love Rowan Atkinson. I was
first exposed to him with the wonderful show "Blackadder."
He was just fantastic in that, and he's the same in "Mr.
Bean." Really, the only reason I love Blackadder more
is that he's much more handsome in that one, and also
because I love his verbal comedy slightly more than his
physical comedy. Mr. Bean is a hapless nitwit who
frequently creates chaos wherever he goes. It's very silly
fun.
"Mr. Bean" is a classic British comedy and has spawned
two movies and two animated series! It's just very funny. If
you're a fan of his, or of comedy, you should enjoy the
series. You won't be sorry! It's hard to believe that it's
been 25 years since this show debuted. This is the
Remastered 25th Anniversary Collection. It seems like
it's brand new.
There is a whole disk of extras, with all of the show's
deleted scenes, a trailer for the animated series, and a
great 40 minute documentary called "The Story of Mr. Bean"
which is all about how the show came into being. It also
gives a lot of background about Rowan Atkinson and his
comedy. I really enjoyed that.
