DVD Reviews
The third season of the show continues to be
great drama, with some action, intrigue and even occasional
bits of comedy. I really love this show. I tuned in
originally because I love Jenna Coleman (from when she was
on "Doctor Who"), and she's even better here in the title
role. She's supported by an amazing group of actors. The
material is very well written. It's fantastic how they can
take a figure that everyone thinks of as this stodgy old,
ugly woman (because those are most of the photos and
portraits we've seen of her) and transform her into a real
person. Also, we get to learn a bit of history along the
way.
Victoria has to deal with revolutions, more
children, and a husband that may have different ideas than
her about what the future of the country should be, as well
as the unexpected arrival of her sister and people in the
government who are stirring up trouble.
There are a
lot of great bonus behind-the-scenes videos that are fun to
watch as well. You should definitely get this if you've
watched the first two seasons. You don't want to watch them
out of order. However, if you can't get the other two, you
should still enjoy this one. They make it pretty easy for
you to catch up.
It would also make a great present
for a friend! Enjoy it because it sounds like they won't be
showing us Season 4 any time soon.

VICTORIA, SEASON 3
Jenna
Coleman returns as her fearless Majesty Queen Victoria in
the long anticipated third season of VICTORIA. Hailed
as “tremendously engaging...immediately gratifying” by
The New York Times, and “captivating” by The Boston
Globe, VICTORIA was a runaway hit during its
first two seasons. Continuing the story of Victoria’s rule
over the largest empire the world has ever known,
VICTORIA: SEASON 3 introduces fascinating new historical
characters, including Laurence Fox (Inspector
Lewis) as the vainglorious Lord Palmerston, who crosses
swords with the queen over British foreign policy. Also
vexing the queen this season is Kate Fleetwood (Harlots)
as Victoria’s devoted but troubled half-sister, Princess
Feodora, who seeks refuge at Buckingham Palace due to
political unrest back home in Germany.
