Lewis Black: Stark Raving Black
Review by Suzanne 6/20/10 |
My husband and I are big fans of Lewis Black. We have all
of his DVD's. That makes it even more disappointing when we watched this
DVD. It is not nearly as funny as his previous ones. I mean, we laughed
some, but parts were just not funny.
At the beginning of the show, he makes a show about how people
are asking him how he will be funny now that Bush is not in the white house.
Sadly, it appears that this is a prophetic question. Apparently he does
need Bush in the white house to make funny jokes.
I hope he gets funnier on his next DVD! If you are not very
picky, or you are a big fan of his, maybe you will still like "Stark Raving
Black". If so, you should try it out. Humor is so subjective. People like
lots of comedy shows that I don't like, so who knows?

Lewis Black
uses his natural talent for hiding subtle comedy inside explosive
outbursts to full effect in this new one-hour stand-up event. Compelled by his
passions and discontentedness with the absurdities of the world, he erupts in
hand-shaking, body-trembling motion spewing of diatribe-laced dialectic comedy.
