Some Kind of Beautiful [DVD + Digital]

I enjoyed this fun little romantic comedy. It's largely
carried by the charm of Pierce Brosnan. Fortunately, I love
him and watch all of his movies. He's older but still
gorgeous. He plays an English professor who's a bit of a
womanizer (he sort of takes after his dad, played by the
always-great Malcolm McDowell). He marries a very young
woman (a student in his class), and they have a wonderful
son. Later, he gets involved with her sister.
Basically, the movie is about a middle-aged (or slightly
older) guy who's realized that he's made mistakes (by acting
like his father) and has to get his act together when
terrible things happen as a result of his stupidity.
But that makes it sound too heavy. There are a lot of jokes
and fun in the movie.
The two women are played by Jessica Alba and Salma Hayek.
They do a great job, particularly Hayek, but most of the
movie is Brosnan. Ben McKenzie, another favorite actor of
mine, also has a small but memorable role. It's an enjoyable little film.

years later when Kate falls in love with someone
else and moves out, she sends her sister, Olivia
(Hayek), to make sure Richard is properly caring for
there son. Assuming Richard is back to his
irresponsible playboy lifestyle, Olivia is shocked
when she starts to fall in love with him, herself.
