Police Squad: The Complete Series [Blu-ray]

 Review by Suzanne Lanoue 4/1/20

This is one of my all time favorite comedy shows, so I'm very glad to have it on Blu-Ray! I already have it on regular DVD. Sadly, there were only six episodes... but they were brilliant.

If you loved movies like "Airplane" and "The Naked Gun," then you will love this, too. The "Naked Gun" movies have the same characters, with just a few different actors. O.J. Simpson replaced Peter Lupus in the movies. Both actors were great in the roles (jail time not withstanding). Leslie Nielsen stars in both as Lt. Frank Drebbin.

The show is a great spoof of 60's and 70's cop shows. I don't know why it got such bad ratings. We loved it. It was long before "The Simpsons" and other spoofing shows. I read that it was just ahead of its time. That may be true, since the movies were very successful.  Don't forget to check out our "Police Squad" page!

There are many wonderful features for any fan to enjoy. This would make a great gift to any comedy fan - especially one over 50.
