Peanuts Holiday Collection (It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown / A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving / A Charlie Brown Christmas) (Deluxe Edition)

Any child will love this set. Anyone who grew up watching the Peanuts specials will also love it (and that's pretty much everyone under 60). This set has all of the major winter holiday specials for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, and then some. The shows here are remastered digitally and look brand new.

I really enjoy watching the behind-the-scenes specials on these disks to learn about things I didn't know before, such as the "missing scenes" from the Christmas special. I love those "fun facts". I especially enjoyed the Christmas one, "A Charlie Brown Christmas", since that was the first one. They talk about how Coca-Cola asked them to make it, and how they only had a few months, and they didn't like how it turned out (yet it was a huge hit). Stuff like that is just so much fun to know. I also enjoyed seeing the animator, the producer, and the people who voiced the characters when they were kids. They told amusing anecdotes about working on the show.

Besides the specials from the 60's and 70's, they have some other specials that they have made since, and those are enjoyable as well. Frankly, I really enjoyed the show "It's Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown" even more than the original, since they obviously had more time to work on it, and it is more like the Peanuts strip, and also it is brand new to me.

Each disk has the old special you've heard of, plus another newer one, plus a featurette that talks about the original show. If you bought the original WB disks for each of these shows, you may have seen the features already. Still, it's great to have them all in one set.

They also have CD's with the songs for the shows, and a code so you can download them into iTunes. The set comes housed in a nice box and artwork besides. I would definitely recommend that anyone buy this for themselves or as a nice gift.

The site utilizes a visual sound stage, where 4 of the Peanuts characters (Snoopy, Schroeder, Linus, and Sally Brown) are waiting with instruments.
First select from one of 3 themes (Fall, Christmas or New Year), then one of the songs from our available music tracks within each theme.
You can then use the "Practice" function. While the song plays, you can click between the 4 Peanuts characters. By clicking on the character, the chosen character will play their instrument.
When you're done practicing, choose the "Record" function. This works the same as the "Practice" function, but a RECORDING - LIVE SESSION sign lights up and your session is recorded - complete with the chosen song and the interactions with the characters.
You can re-record your session as many times as you wish until you have a perfect recording that you like.
You can send your recording onto a friend - your friend will receive an invitation to view a "Private Peanuts Recording Session", which will allow them to return to the site and listen to your recording.
You can also deploy a widget that contains a small demo of the experience, which will allow others to experience limited functionality and then visit the site to record their own Music Medley.
