The Orville: The Complete First Season
Review by Suzanne Lanoue
12/5/18 |
I'm not a huge fan of this show, but it has
its moments. It's more of a good scifi show than it is a
good comedy show. I figure the only reason that they even
have comedy is so that if anyone complains that they're
ripping off "Star Trek," they can just say it's a spoof,
like "Family Guy." It's just not very funny, so it
doesn't work, for me, as a comedy. I'm a huge fan of "Family
Guy," too.
I think the cast does an excellent job, and
there's plenty of good action. The characters are very well
laid out. Seth McFarlane is excellent as the captain.
If you like scifi, you should definitely check it out. There
aren't a lot of good spaceship shows out there now, and most
of the ones that are still on the air are kind of
depressing. This show is not. Like the original "Star Trek,"
it puts faith in the future and its fans.
The DVD has many great features for fans of
the show. You won't be sorry if you buy the DVD. Any fan of
the show should really enjoy it. It would make a great
Christmas present, too.
Season 2 returns December 30!
