DVD TV Show Reviews
First I should explain that I am not a football fan. I always
hated the game. I'm not a sports fan in general, but I particularly don't like
football. I find it very boring because it's just so much stop-and-start. I
don't like watching it either on TV or in real life.
However, I found this set of documentaries about African-American football
players to be very interesting to watch as well as educational. Everyone should
watch these. First of all, it has many great films of past football plays,
especialy the fun parts - touchdowns! To me that's the only good part of the
game anyway.
There is the main documentary, which basically takes us through the history of
black players and coaches in the AFL and NFL. That was very good. But there are
a bunch of other documentaries on there as well, about specific players such as
Jim Brown and Warren Moon. Those were very fascinating as well.
I'm sure they put this out purposely to coincide with Black History Month.
That's fine, but anyone, not just African-Americans, would enjoy this DVD set.
It's inspiring and chock-full of fun facts. They have many players talking about
other players, and many great clips. This should be part of anyone's collection.
