The New Adventures of Superman: Season 2 & 3

The New Adventures of Superman: Season 2 & 3

 Review by Suzanne Lanoue 5/26/14

This was a cartoon that aired when I was a kid in the late 60's. It was very serious. Superhero cartoons didn't have a lot of humor back then. We didn't have many superhero cartoons, so this was great to watch back then.

Now it's kind of boring and stilted, and the animation is very old. I would skip it unless you're a really big Superman fan. Little kids will probably like it.

There are no extras of features. The disk set has 32 episodes.

The New Adventures of Superman Seasons 2 & 3 depicted the first time that Superman; his alter ego, Clark Kent; award-winning journalist  Lois Lane; and Perry White,  Editor-in-Chief of the Metropolis newspaper The Daily Planet, had been seen in animated form since they were immortalized in the iconic Superman short films of the 1940s. In addition, this series marked the animation debut of photo journalist Jimmy Olsen, as well as classic Superman villains such as archenemies Lex Luthor and Brainiac.
