DVD Reviews
This is a very good HBO series about the
rise of FOX news, built by Roger Ailes. Russell Crowe, one
of my favorite actors, plays Ailes with his usual charm.
Even though you want to hate Ailes, you have to admire his
political eye, his stubbornness, and his hard work. Also,
I'm fairly sure that Crowe is way more charming than the
real Ailes ever was. He's always had a certain twinkle in
his eyes that makes him endearing (even under many layers of
make-up to make him look like Ailes).
No matter what
your political views, you should enjoy this view into how
FOX news was started. It's fascinating. Of course, it's also
about Ailes and the people he worked with, and his family.
It puts Rupert Murdoch in a kind light and almost makes him
look reasonable in comparison to Ailes.
Anyone
interested in journalism, news or politics should watch this
great series. I can't wait for season 2.
