  The Invaders: The Complete Series

 Review by Suzanne Lanoue 6/1/18

I remember hearing about this show, but I was too young to watch it. It's nice to finally watch it. I doubt it shows too much in re-runs because it's only two seasons. Usually they have to have a certain number of episodes to show a series in syndication (re-runs).

If you like old Scifi shows, you should enjoy this one. Like most shows from back before the 90's, the pace is pretty slow. You may have a hard time focusing on the show alone because nowadays the shows and movies are much more fast-paced. This one may not keep your full attention.

The acting and the stories are really good, better than "Star Trek" and most of the other shows that aired back then. It holds up in that sense. It's not in black and white, so it's watchable for younger people who don't mind the pace. There are many great features on the DVD set. I enjoyed watching them all.

Roy Thinnes, who starred in the show, was one of the original actors to star in "General Hospital" and the only one who's still alive. After GH, he did a lot of primetime TV and movies, including this series. Later on, he returned to daytime soaps when he joined "One Life to Live" in a really great role. It's so great to see him so young and handsome.

This would make a great gift for any Scifi fan, but they might already have it, since it's a classic.
